DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday 10/23/22

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 10/23/22 This opening week of the NBA season has been magical. I'm one of the few people who prefer to watch the NBA over the NFL, and it has me pegged as your Sunday writer for the rest of the season. The prize pools always tend to be smaller, but it's an excellent time to capitalize on some of the amateur players. We also tend to have smaller slates, and that's certainly the case with this seven-game card. With that in mind, let's get started with one of the best guards in the NBA! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Trae Young FD - $8700 DK - $9700 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 48.98 DK - 52.7 We weren't so sure what to expect from this Young-Murray backcourt, but it looks like these are the exact same All-Star players. The reason we love them for DFS is that these sites clearly overreacted to that move, making these guys about $1,000 cheaper than last year. That makes no sense, with Young scoring at least 50 DraftKings points in both games this season. The assists are what had DFS managers concerned, but he's handed out 13 a night with Dejounte. Getting to face Charlotte is sensational, too, with the Hornets ranked fifth in pace and 22nd in defensive efficiency last year. In their final three matchups last season, Trae averaged 46 fantasy points per game! Dennis Smith Jr. FD - $5200 DK - $5400 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 31.16 DK - 29.93 How crazy is it that we have DSJ in here in the opening week of the season? Many people weren't even sure Smith would play in the NBA this season, but he's been one of their best guards through the opening week. The former Top-10 pick has 25 and 29 DK points in the first two games of the year, playing 22 minutes a night. He's done that damage off the bench, but we anticipate him playing 35 minutes as the starting point guard here. We say that because LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Miles Bridges are all out of the lineup. Those were the three best players last year, and we...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Saturday 10/22

Guards Luka Doncic FD - $10800 DK - $10700 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 55.06 DK - 57.17 The two most expensive guards on the slate face off against one another tonight and both provide an elite floor/ceiling combination. With Memphis playing on a back-to-back, I slightly lean Luka here coming off 50+ fantasy performance in game one and h wasn't even that efficient shooting 10 for 23 but made up for it going 13 for 13 from the free throw line while adding nine rebounds and six assists. He now faces a Grizzlies team that I mentioned is playing on a back-to-back and has given up over 110 points in both of their games. As long as the price remains under $11K, Luka is going to be a core play for me in all formats. Tyler Herro FD - $6200 DK - $6300 Opponent - TOR Proj Pts FD - 33.12 DK - 35.44 This will be the third time writing up Tyler Herro this season for the DFSR crew and it continues to baffle us why the price hasn't gone up yet. He was excellent on opening night giving USA 6x return on both sites and was even better last night putting up a near 7x return. He led the Heat with 21 shots putting gup 25 points and adding six rebounds and three assists while playing 36 minutes. The matchup doesn't jump off the page as the Raptors are an above-average defense but considering they are playing a back-to-back on the road and Herro's is just coming way too cheap, I am on board in all formats. Donovan Mitchell FD - $8500 DK - $9200 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 41.98 DK - 43.79 While the Cavs ended up losing their first game, management had to be thrilled about their huge off-season deal for Donovan Mitchell. He led the team with 21 shots and a 36% usage rate while posting a monster 50-point fantasy game. The price has gone up on DraftKings but if he continues to play at this level there is a good chance he will be a consistent 10K player on both sites this season. Tonight, he faces a Bulls team that is playing on a back-to-back while the Cavs have had a day to rest. Mitchell is a core play...

Daily Fantasy NFL GPP Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Week 7

Posted by on Oct 21, 2022 in featured, Football Strategy |

Daily Fantasy NFL GPP Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - Week 7 Welcome back football fans. Week four in the NFL is here and DFSR has you covered. Earlier in the week, we look at our top cash game picks and now it's time to look at some stacks that help us get to the top of or GPP contests. Let's get started. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Cincinnati Bengals Double Stack Joe Burrow FD 8300 DK 6900 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 22.86 DK - 22.86 Ja'Marr Chase FD 8500 DK 8200 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 18.54 DK - 22.19 Tee HIggins FD 7100 DK 6400 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 12.31 DK - 14.85 The Bengals got the passing game going last week as Burrow put up a season-high 35 fantasy points on 300 yards passing and three touchdowns. While the offensive line is still bottom five in the league, Burrow is having a solid season throwing for 275 or more yards and multiple touchdowns in four of six games with 20+ fantasy points in each of those games. The Bengals are in another terrific spot this week against a poor Falcons defence that ranks 29th overall and 23rd against the pass. Digging deeper, there is a lot of upside in this matchup as the Falcons have allowed the 5th most passing yards on deep balls this season(via NFL Savant), 2nd most yards to receivers on the outside, and 8th most to receivers on the inside. They have held running backs somewhat in check ranking 12th in fantasy points against which is another reason I am starting the passing game as they rank 25th or worse in fantasy points to QB, WR, and TE. This is an offense I will be double stacking and it starts with Ja'Marr Chase who is coming off his best game of the season with 132 yards and two touchdowns and has been getting the volume all season with the 6th most targets overall. The aDOT(8.9) is down about 3-4 yards from last season but he has made up for it as he ranks 8th when looking at Air Yards + YAC. With the Falcons allowing more yards to the outside vs. the inside, Tee Higgins is next on my list and has a little deeper aDOT(9.8) and doesn't trail Chase by that much when looking at AY+YAC. Run Back Option: Kyle Pitts as the one weakness of the Bengals' defense has been against the TE(19th...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Thursday 10/20

Guards Tyrese Maxey FD - $6600 DK - $5200 Opponent - MIL Proj Pts FD - 30.55 DK - 31.07 Like opening night, we have another small two-game slate so we are going to need some value and for me, that comes at the guard position with much more intriguing payups at the forward/center positions. Let's start with Tyrese Maxey who Doug mentioned on Tuesday was underpriced for his potential role and that continues here as the price only came up slightly on both sites. He played 38 minutes on opening night and took the second-most shots(16) on the team finishing with 30 fantasy points which at these prices is a terrific return, especially on DraftKings at nearly 6x. He is very shooting dependant but I feel we need to continue to buy low early in the season. He is in play on both sites but his best value comes on DraftKings in the low $5K range. Russell Westbrook FD - $7200 DK - $7000 Opponent - LAC Proj Pts FD - 30.37 DK - 31.51 It wasn't clear whether Westbrook would start for the Lakers on opening night but that ended up being the case as he played 31 minutes and finished third in shots behind the two usage monsters AD and Bron. There is always risk he just turns the ball over a ton but there is also no denying the high floor/high ceiling with his contributions in multiple categories. He showed this on opening night with his first double-double of the season and the best part is that this is a guy that we got used to paying 8-9K for in the past. At these prices, it makes sense to load up in all formats if he is back in the starting lineup. Grayson Allen FD - $3800 DK - $4600 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 20.38 DK - 21.33 Let's close out the guard section by going way down the board with a player that really help us to a stars and scrubs type build. Allen is going to cede a lot of the shots to Giannis and Holiday in the offense but was solid in his three preseason starts shooting 48% on nine shots a game and it also helps he is going to provide us with around 4-6 rebounds, as well. That is...

If you went full Keegan last week, you came away happy as he picked up his 5th career win and first since the BMW Championship back in 2018. It was a classic case of a very good ball striker putting together a terrific putting week and finding his way to the hardware on Sunday afternoon. This week the PGA Tour returns back to the United States for the CJ Cup in South Carolina. This is an event that started back in the 2017-18 season at the Club @ Nine Bridges in South Korea and was played there for three straight seasons. For the last two years, it has been played at two separate Las Vegas courses in Shadow Creek and the Summit Club and will now be played a fourth different course, this time moving to Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina. This will also be the second time Congaree will be used on the PGA Tour with the 2020-21 Palmetto Championship played at the course. The only difference this time around is that the CJ Cup is a small-field, no-cut event while the Palmetto Championship was a full-field Top 65 and ties event. Either way, there are players in the field who have played the course in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. This week's field is much better than last week's as six of the World's Top 10 golfers are in the field led by #1 Scottie Scheffler. The course is lengthy Par 71 listed at 7,655 yards on the scorecard and ranked as the 7th toughest course(outside majors & the Players) for the...

Daily Fantasy NFL GPP Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Week 6

Game Stack - Arizona @ Seattle  Kyler Murray FD 8300 DK 7300 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 24.65 DK - 24.65 Marquise Brown FD 8200 DK 7200 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 16.52 DK - 20.39 Rondale Moore FD 5600 DK 4200 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 10.47 DK - 13.24 Tyler Lockett FD 7500 DK 5600 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 15.65 DK - 19.1 There are two games that stand out above the rest in terms of game totals and I am going to focus on the Cards/Seahawks as it feels a little more friendly to game stack with both defenses ranking outside the Top 25 overall. In this game specifically, it has been Geno Smith garnering the most love and rightfully so as he is having a terrific season. This has me pivoting to the other side with Kyler Murray who has been good, not great to start the year as we have yet to see the upside game but I feel that changes this week. It comes down to the matchup as he faces a Seahawks defense that is ranked 31st in DVOA against the pass and giving up the 7th most passing yards per game(259.8) through five weeks. The projected upside is what really has me liking Kyler over Geno in this game because while the Cardinals have allowed the fewest passing yards on deep passes this season, the Seahawks have allowed the 6th most(stats via NFL Savant). That brings us to his pass catchers who I will have a lot of exposure to this week both as single and double-stack options. Let's start with Marquise Brown who is second in the league in targets(55), sixth in receiving yards(417), and seventh in receiving touchdowns(3). Now let's look at some upside stats as Hollywood is also seventh in air yards and air yards and has a 9.4 aDOT on the season. I am also very high on his teammate Rondale Moore who will be playing just his third game of the season but has improved each week and...
