For the second straight week the players will be faced with a Pete Dye classic, this time it will be TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship. The course is a Par 70 listed at 6,841 yards on the scorecard and in comparison to the last two weeks, has slightly larger fairways and it shows with an average driving accuracy above 65% over the last five years. You definitely don't want to be missing many fairways, however, as the rough can get long and gnarly and is consistently around 3.5 inches. While a complete tee to green game is required, Strokes Gained: Approach is my top-weighted stat in the model closely followed by Par 4 scoring which has also shown heavy correlation to success here when looking back at pasts events. This course, while also on the short side like the last two weeks, has seen more longer players(driving distance) have success in the past(see Bubba Watson). An all bombers lineup is likely not going to get you a GPP win but don't be afraid to use them just because of the...

Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11000 DK - $12400 Opponent - POR Proj Pts FD - 55.8 DK - 60.53 It's a night without a lot of premier pay-up options, and while he's very expensive on DraftKings it's going to be hard to fade him on FanDuel. Luka had a brief three game lull for a few different reasons - weird game scripts and tough match-ups primarily - but got back in the saddle with a devastating 25/15/17 line against the Kings. While Doncic is not a traditional point guard, it's worth noting that his combination of size and vision matches up very well against Portland's undersized back court. I love Luka in all formats on FanDuel, and he should be the highest owned big money option on the slate. Shabazz Napier FD - $5000 DK - $5000 Opponent - IND Proj Pts FD - 31.37 DK - 32.01 With Teague out of the picture permanently and no replacement imminent, Napier is positioned to slide right back into the role he inhabited when Teague was injured earlier in the year. In the last two games Teague missed Napier put together an average line of 21/4.5/5 in 32 minutes of action. He is far too cheap for that level of production, and while Indiana is far from an ideal match-up thanks to their slow pace and solid defense this is just a price and opportunity mismatch that we aren't likely to pass up. Chris Paul FD - $7000 DK - $6900 Opponent - MIA Proj Pts FD - 38.61 DK - 39.1 CP3 hasn't been a flashy play this season, but he has been a solid one on these prices. He's averaged almost exactly 5x points per dollar on these prices all season, and he's been even better recently. He's playing slightly longer rotations than he was earlier this year while supplying his same solid production, and it looks like the sites have over-corrected for a challenging Miami match-up. His solid across the board production means he's got a great floor, and that is all you can really ask for from a tough point guard position tonight. In the same vein,...
DFS NBA Podcast for Wednesday 3/28/18 – FanDuel and DraftKings
DFS NBA Podcast for Wednesday 3/28/18 - FanDuel and DraftKings DFSR's Doug Norrie and James Davis take to the podcast discussing an eight-game NBA slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. Cheap punt plays are the name of the game today with plenty of opportunity opening up early. Damian Lillard has already been ruled out making Shabazz Napier a near auto-cash game play at the minimum salaries. C.J. McCollum should see a usage bump as well. Isaiah Taylor should once again slot in for Dennis Schroder in the Hawks' starting lineup making for another cheap play. The guys go game-by-game discussing all of the options including Lebron on a back-to-back, Lou Williams in the starting lineup against the Suns and the Hornets in a nice spot against the Cavs. All of this and much more on a full Wednesday NBA podcast. Pitchers Jeff Samardzija FD 8400 DK 8600 Opponent - MIL (Nelson) Park - @SF FD - 35.47 DK - 23.54 Samardzija could be getting a decent amount of attention in this game -- its got the lowest total on the board, the park is great for pitching, and the Brewers strike out more than any team in baseball vs. RHP. If it looks like he's going to be chalk, I'd be OK with the fade, but Samardzija definitely needs to be on your tournament radar today. Granted, we're still waiting for the results to match the underlying stats this season, but it's hard to imagine that a guy with 9.24 Ks/9 and just 1.34 BBs/9 will continue to carry a 4.79 ERA, especially when he's pitching about half his games in the best pitcher's park in the league. Some of the blame for that under-performance relative to expectation (3.38 xFIP) probably falls to Samardzija -- maybe he's tipping pitches or sequencing poorly or any number of other possibilities. But the bigger factor appears to be plain bad luck. His batting average and wOBA allowed are both running .25-.30 points higher than they should be based on Statcast's batted ball data, and at some point, positive regression should be coming. If it starts tonight, there's big upside here. And even if it doesn't all come at once, we like his chances to return solid value on these prices. Jimmy Nelson FD 8700 DK 11000 Opponent - SF (Samardzija) Park - @SF FD - 35.28 DK - 23.27 I'm not super excited to pay that price on DK, but think of it this way: not many people will be. It's obviously a little more enticing from a point/$ perspective on FanDuel, but we think he's worth a GPP look on either site for one reason or another. There's no doubt Nelson has made big strides in 2017. He's posting career-bests in Ks/9 (10.05), BBs/9 (2.25), ERA (3.74), FIP (3.06) and xFIP (3.12). Those last two numbers, by the way, put him among the best pitchers in baseball, ranking 7th in both categories....
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/24/17
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/24/17 We've already ended one first round series with the Cavs finishing off the Pacers yesterday and we could see the Warriors wrap things up tonight. But the NBA playoff train rolls on and we definitely have some interesting ways to take things with this three game slate. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and our new MLB player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors With the series knotted at 2-2 the series heads back to Toronto for game five. After the Raptors punted Game 3 losing by thirty in a game that they didn’t appear to even leave the locker room for, they came back and won Game 4. Credit Dwane Casey who made a rather radical starting lineup pivot last game in taking Jonas Valanciunas in a bid to go super small and fast with Norman Powell at the three, Carroll at the four and Ibaka at the five. It was a bold move with Powell playing a ton of minutes and very strong defense. Prices haven’t really corrected on him and he’s a borderline must play in cash games if the Raptors keep the same starting lineup. The other key for the Raptors in Game 4 was Demar Derozan finding his form again going 12-22 from the field and finishing with a 33/9/5 line along with 4 steals. I think that’s of course the upper end of what we can expect from him, but he’s a strong play again tonight. The Bucks couldn’t hit anything from beyond the arc last game going only 24% from three on 21 looks. They’ll of course need to do better in Game 5 to have a shot at retaking the lead in the series. Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled with turnovers last game, giving up seven in 42 minutes. He’s had a decent series, but will have to limit mistakes here and it could be an issue with the Raptors choosing to go smaller. I still see Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon as something of values for the Bucks though the latter saw drastically reduced minutes in Game 4. Middleton’s price has come up as well and he’s very scoring dependent to hit his mark. I suspect we’ll be looking away from the Bucks (in general) on this slate. Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks Somewhat randomly, the Hawks blew out the Wiz in...
Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings – 9/28/16
Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings - 9/28/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Personnel Alex Bregman is back in the lineup for the first time in two weeks. He'll be hitting second and playing 3B. Last night, he got his first at-bat since injuring his hamstring and responded with an RBI pinch-hit single. Adrian Gonzalez left last night's game due to illness and should be considered day-to-day. Brandon Phillips was removed from last night's game after sustaining a hand injury. Consider him day-to-day until further notice. Starling Marte might be done for the season as back tightness continues to give the Pirates outfielder problems. Eduardo Nunez was out last night after injuring his hamstring on Sunday. He's expected to return soon, but another day of rest wouldn't come as a surprise. Albert Pujols sat last night due to a foot issue. Consider him day-to-day down the stretch. Ryan Braun missed last night's game with wrist soreness, but is expected to return to the lineup tonight. Kolten Wong was out last night with a shoulder issue, but could return as early as tonight. Nick Castellanos was activated from the DL yesterday and is expected to return to the starting lineup tonight. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now! Tournament Stacks Texas Rangers We haven't gotten quite as much offense as we've been hoping for out of the Rangers this week, but our projection system (and Vegas) remains bullish on the Texas bats. Tonight they get Chase Anderson, owner of a 4.71 xFIP and 1.66 HRs/9. Those numbers make him one of the juiciest targets on the slate before you even consider the fact that Globe Life Park is arguably the best hitter's park available tonight. The Rangers lineup has had its share of ups and downs this season, even after adding Carlos Beltran and Jonathan Lucroy at the trading...
