GOALIE Connor Hellebuyck FD - $7900 DK - $8300 Opponent - ARI Proj Pts FD - 17.66 DK - 14.1 Hellebuyck has most definitely put his disappointing opening night behind him as he has been terrific since winning three straight. In those games, he held the Penguins, Wild, and Blackhawks to two or fewer goals while facing an average of 35.7 shots per game. With the lack of depth on the Jets back end, Hellebuyck is going to face a ton of shots all season which gives him a very high floor and ceiling. Tonight, he gets a plus matchup as a -140 home favorite against the Coyotes who have gone 1-3 to start the season and have scored just seven goals(1.8 per game). All things considered, Hellebuyck is my top goalie in all formats tonight. Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $8800 DK - $7800 Opponent - MON Proj Pts FD - 17.64 DK - 12.97 I get that Vasilevskiy has looked a bit rusty to start the year with a .903 save % through three games but he is the reigning Vezina Trophy winner and greatly underpriced on DraftKings under $8K. The Bolts continue their road trip tonight with a trip to Montreal and they open as -150 favorites and while the Habs have started hot offensively, I cannot ignore the PTS/$ value on DraftKings and will have exposure to Vasi in all formats. On FanDuel, where he is almost $9K, I think he will be much lower owned making him a nice GPP play. GOALIE Jordan Binnington FD - $8400 DK - $8400 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 17.19 DK - 13.56 Jake Allen FD - $7300 DK - $8200 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 17.87 DK - 14.16 The defending Stanley Cup champs are 2-0-1 to start the season and while the offense hasn't found top gear, the defense has picked up where they left off allowing just seven goals in those three games. Binnington has started all three games so far and has been excellent with a .928 save % while facing just over 32 shots per game. The Blues now get, by far, their best matchup of the season so far against a rebuilding Senators team that has been dominated in their first two games and now face the defending champs. If Binnington starts, he is my top goalie in all formats but if the Blues give Allen his first start of the season, I will use him in GPP only on DraftKings but all formats on FanDuel in the low $7K range. Connor Hellebuyck FD - $7600 DK - $8000 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 18.45 DK - 15.35 From a PTS/$ perspective, Connor Hellebuyck is right at the top of the list for me tonight in the low $8K range on DraftKings and mid $7K range on FanDuel. After a shaky opening night in Madison Square Garden(6-4 loss), Hellebuyck watched Brossoit start two in a row then made the most of his return to the crease saving 37 of 38 shots in a 4-1 win in Pittsburgh. The Jets now return to Winnipeg for their home opener as -140 favorites against the Wild who struggled offensively a year ago(27th) and have been outscored 9-4 in two losses to open the 2019-20 season. GOALIE David Rittich FD - $7700 DK - $8400 Opponent - LA Proj Pts FD - 0 DK - 16.52 After a terrible opener where he allowed four goals to the Avs in Colorado, Rittich bounced back in a big way saving all 34 shots he faced against the Canucks tallying the shutout in his home opener. He now gets another plus matchup as a -210 home favorite against the Kings who finished 30th overall in offense last season(2.43 goals per game) and while they scored five in a losing effort in Calgary, the lineup didn't see much turnover from last season leading me to believe they will once again be just an average at best offense this season. As the most expensive option on DraftKings, I am likely going another direction for cash games but on FanDuel under $8K, he is a great play in all formats. Jimmy Howard FD - $7200 DK - $7900 Opponent - ANA Proj Pts FD - 15.72 DK - 12.44 The Red Wings definitely aren't a team on the immediate rise so it was quite a shock on opening night when they went into Nashville and beat the Preds 5-3. Howard allowed three goals but still made 39 saves and with Detroit's less than stellar defensive depth I see the shot volume for the goalie's continuing all season which gives them a high floor in advantageous matchups. One of those is tonight at home as the Wings are -130 favorites against the Ducks who finished last year ranked dead last in offense but are healthy and have started off the season 2-0 but have scored just five goals. When you factor in the sub $8K price on both sites, he is right near the top of the PTS/$ ranking and in consideration in all formats. GOALIE Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $9200 DK - $8400 Opponent - FLA Proj Pts FD - 19.47 DK - 16.87 The first full slate of the season brings us eight games and a ton of viable goalie options. I would be doing a disservice if I didn't start out by mentioning the reigning Vezina Trophy winner. While he tallied five fewer wins(39) than the previous year(44) he posted a career-high .925 save %(6th best) with six shutouts(4th most). He and the Lightning will open the season as big -175 home favorites facing the Panthers who finished 10th in the conference a season ago and averaged 33 shots per game adding to the floor and ceiling for Vasi. The pricing is a lot closer on DraftKings making Vasileviskiy the top play but on FanDuel he is more of a GPP option with some much better PTS/$ options leading to a more balanced cash game build. Pekka Rinne FD - $8300 DK - $8200 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 18.77 DK - 14.69 The Predators also open up their season at home tonight as -175 favorites in a matchup against the Minnesota Wild in one of the best matchups of the night. The Predators are coming off seasons where they ranked 3rd and 2nd in defense and in large part to Pekka Rinne who has now posted a .918% or better in three straight seasons and looking deeper at the advanced he was terrific in the high danger areas last year with a .851 save %(league avg - .818).  On the flip side, the Wild took a big step back offensively falling to 27th scoring just 2.6 goals per game in a season where there was a big increase in offense league-wide. On DraftKings, Rinne is a close second to Vasilevskiy in the same price range but on FanDuel, he is my top choice at a $900 discount. GOALIE Frederik Andersen FD - $8700 DK - $8400 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 22.27 DK - 16.56 With just four games on the slate, I am going to be paying up for Frederik Anderson who may not be the best goalie on the slate(I see you Jordan Binnington) but he is easily in the best spot on opening night. The Leafs open at home as -290 favorites against the Senators who finished last season ranked dead last in offense and projected to have similar results this season as well. More good news for Andersen as he provides us a very high floor and ceiling as he faced the fourth-most shots against per 60 minutes(goalies with 50+ GP) last season. All things considered, he is my top goalie in all formats. Mikko Koskinen FD - $7500 DK - $7200 Opponent - VAN Proj Pts FD - 18.15 DK - 13.48 If you are looking to go the value route and load up on a top stack tonight, Koskinen makes sense in the mid $7K range on both sites. He was good, not great in his full first season as the starter in Edmonton and over 55 games(51 starts) he tallied a .906 save % with four shutouts and like Andersen faced a ton of shots(31.1 per 60) helping out with his PTS/$ floor. He and the Oilers also open in a plus matchup against the Canucks who ranked 26th in offense last season and didn't really make many waves in the offseason to upgrade their lineup. All in all, Koskinen is my top value goalie of the night. This could be the difference between home-ice advantage against a wildcard team or having to play one of the two other teams. This is a big game so look for the Preds to fire up their #1 goalie and he has been terrific down the stretch recording a .927 save % over his last 10 games. He and the Preds also get a plus matchup as -275 home favorites against the recently eliminated Canucks. Fire up Rinne in all formats. Also Consider: Petr Mrazek(CAR) into a smash spot for the Canes as they are at home as big favorites against the Devils who rank 30th in road offense Carolina Hurricanes Opponent - vs. NJ Moneyline - CAR(-335) Vegas Total - 6.0 Team Projection - 4.6  The Hurricanes are a team going into the final few days of the season with a lot to play for. They currently hold down the #1 wildcard spot in the East but sit just one point ahead of both the Canadiens and Blue Jackets. Tonight, they get a terrific matchup to pick up two more points as the Devils come to town with their 30th ranked road defense giving up 3.9 goals per game on the season away from Jersey.
