GOALIE Connor Hellebuyck FD - $8600 DK - $8200 Opponent - LA Proj Pts FD - 21.93 DK - 5.48 Hellebuyck is coming off an incredible season where he recorded a career-high 44 wins and .924 save  % while finishing second in Vezina Trophy voting. After opening the season 1-1 on the road in St. Louis and Dallas, the Jets will return to Winnipeg for their home-opener a season after posting a league-high 32 wins on home ice. Hellebuyck was a huge part of that success as he recorded 30 of his 44 wins on home ice with a 2.31 GAA and .921 save %. While he is coming off a suspect start in Dallas where he allowed five goals, he did stop 30 shots and has now seen 77 shots through his first two games which definitely helps the floor and fantasy upside. The Jets are huge -192 favorites tonight against the Kings and Hellebuyck is my top goalie in all formats. Brian Elliott FD - $7700 DK - $7800 Opponent - SJ Proj Pts FD - 16.79 DK - 4.2 For GPP formats, I will be taking a close look at the Flyers Brian Elliott in the sub $8K range on both sites. Like Hellebuyck, he has had one good and one bad start on the road to start the season and will now return home to Philly for their home opener. The Flyers are slight favorites in this one as the Sharks come to town and are playing on back to back days on the East coast after being shutout by the Islanders yesterday. There is some risk here as the Sharks have a ton of offensive talent on their team but they haven't hit their stride yet(five goals in three games) so I am willing to take the risk to get a ton of salary relief to load up on some line stacks tonight. GOALIE Frederik Andersen FD - $8400 DK - $8400 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 18.41 DK - 5.42 Andersen was my top goalie on opening night and while he didn't get the shutout like Holtby in Washington, he was still very good. The Habs outplayed the Leafs early on and Andersen stood on his head all game making 34 saves and allowing just two goals as the Leafs ended up winning in overtime. That is one of the top reasons I always consider Andersen is that he faces a ton of shots which helps his overall floor and ceiling making it possible to deal with a few goals against especially this season when it appears the Leafs have a very dynamic offense in front of him. Tonight, he gets another terrific matchup against a Sens team that will likely be offensively challenged this season after shipping Erik Karlsson out of town in a trade. Andersen is safe in all formats on both sites but his best value comes on FanDuel where he is the seventh most expensive option(most expensive on DK). Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $9200 DK - $8300 Opponent - FLA Proj Pts FD - 19.17 DK - 4.79 On FanDuel, I think I prefer Andersen in cash at an $800 discount but on DraftKings Vasilevskiy makes the decision a little tougher. He is coming off a fantastic 2017-18 season where he set career-highs in wins(44), save %(.920), and shutouts(8). Tonight the Bolts will open their season at home against the Florida Panthers who were no more than a middle of the road offense last year and were slightly worse on the road as well. Vasilevskiy faced over 30 shots per game a year ago and the Panthers ranked second in shots for per game(34.4) and if that trend continues, that gives the Bolts tender a high floor and ceiling tonight and then add that they are -192 favorites and you have yourself a terrific option in all formats....

GOALIE Pekka Rinne FD - $8600 DK - $8100 Opponent - NYR Proj Pts FD - 17.59 DK - 4.4 If I knew the health of Ben Bishop, he would be my top goalie tonight as the Stars are huge -185 favorites against the Coyotes who ranked dead last in offense last season. Instead, I will turn to reigning Vezina Trophy winner, Pekka Rinne, who was lights out last year with 42 wins, a 2.31 GAA, .931 save %, and eight shutouts. I am not at all worried about the matchup in New York as he was even better on the road(.937 save %, 2.07 GAA) and is facing a Rangers team that ranked outside the Top 20 in offense a year ago. The Preds as a team also ranked 2nd overall in defense and 1st on road and tonight are -155 favorites. Fire up Rinne in all formats. Semyon Varlamov FD - $7800 DK - $7300 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 16.22 DK - 4.05 There is plenty of value at goaltender position tonight with 10 games and it starts with Semyon Varlamov who was cruising along nicely last season before suffering a season-ending injury at the end of March. Pre-injury he posted a .920 save % for the Avalanche and was a key contributor for the team making it to the playoffs for the first time on four years. He is back and healthy and is already confirmed to start for the Avs tonight in a home matchup against Minnesota and while the matchup doesn't stand out as the Wild ranked 11th in offense last season, the Avs are -135 favorites and the price is well worth the risk as it helps you load up with elite talent in your GPP lineups. Also Consider: Ben Bishop(DAL) if he is confirmed healthy and starting in an elite matchup at home against the Coyotes CENTERS...

GOALIE Frederik Andersen FD - $8400 DK - $8400 Opponent - MON Proj Pts FD - 19.79 DK - 4.95 Andersen is coming off one of his best seasons in NHL as he posted a career-high 38 wins and finished fourth in the Vezina Trophy voting. He starts the 2018-19 season on home ice and the Leafs are currently the biggest favorites on the slate(-230) against a depleted Montreal Canadiens team that saw Alex Galchenyuk traded to the Coyotes, Max Pacioretty traded to the Vegas Golden Knights, and star defenseman Shea Weber out till mid-December following offseason knee surgery. While Andersen wasn't elite last season(9.18 save %, 2.81 GAA), he did face a league-high 33.5 shots per game giving him a high floor and in this matchup, he also has the best odds of all goalies to pick up the win. Fire up Andersen in all formats on this small slate. Also Consider: Martin Jones(SJ) for GPP formats CENTERS Sean Monahan FD - $7300 DK - $5900 Opponent - VAN Proj Pts FD - 12.78 DK - 4.88 These smaller slates are a bit tricky when looking at it from a cash game perspective so I will be going a more balanced approach tonight starting with Sean Monahan. Despite the Flames struggles overall in 2017-18(37-35-10 record), the offense ranked 13th overall scoring 2.96 goals per game and was led by Gaudreau(84 pts) and Monahan(64) who are slated to start the year side by side on the top line. He also averaged just under three shots per game in and almost 19 minutes of ice-time giving him a nice floor and with a matchup against a projected weak team in Vancouver, he is safe in all formats. Rask has allowed seven goals in his last two games but he reeled off four wins in a row before that while allowing only six goals during that span. What really helps make Rask my top goalie this evening is the fact that the Sens are bad at hockey as they own the league's 25th-ranked offense and they just got shut out as I'm writing this. The Bruins need to win their next two games to become the Eastern Conference champions so look for them to dominate this game from puck drop. Fire up Rask in all formats, my friends. The Jets still have a mathematical chance of passing Nashville for the #1 seed in their division and Hellebuyck has been sensational this season as he boasts a terrific 42-11-9 record to go along with a .922 save %, six shutouts, and a 2.40 GAA. Hellebuyck is an elite play and easily my top goalie in all formats this evening. Antti Raanta FD - $8000 DK - $8100 Opponent - VAN Proj Pts FD - 15.74 DK - 3.94 The Coyotes are showing us that they will be a force to be reckoned with next season and for years to come and this young stud has reeled off six wins in a row where he has allowed only seven goals during that span. Raanta also owns an amazing 2.07 GAA and a .930 save % while playing for a team who has not had a good season and even though everyone and their ancestors will be focused on the Sedin brothers playing their last home game this evening, look for this guy to ruin the show.
