It feels like that is going to be the case going forward and the Hawks end up in a great spot here. Even thinking about stacking these two guards on this slate would make sense, considering the matchup. The Pistons play the fifth-worst defense in the league and run a top-5 pace. That’s coming close to the sweet spot for where we want to be in cash games. Trae Young is the highlight here, and you’ll have to pay top-tier prices. But he’s averaging career-highs with 28 points and 10.8 assists a game. There isn’t as much for Dejounte Murray after that, but the 20/ 5.5 / 4.4 line with nearly two blocks + steals does get the job done on FanDuel, at least in this pricing tier. Cade Cunningham FD - $8200 DK - $8200Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 38.39 DK - 42.45 Speaking of great DFS matchups, the Pistons arguably get an even better one (than playing themselves) going the other direction with the Hawks on Monday. Atlanta has the second-worst defense in the league with the second-fastest pace. This game has the second-highest total on the slate (243.5), though Atlanta is -11 favorites, which (again) puts the Pistons in the blowout zone. But if you think there’s any way they keep things close-ish then there is upside on Cade Cunningham’s price. He’s getting up 19 shots per game, shooting better from three and getting to the line as well. The team stinks, but he’ s a DFS play for sure. Pacers - Wizards comes in with a 258.5 over/under, and you will want to have at least a piece of the action here. Of course, a big reason for this is Indiana’s pace, which ranks first in the league. And then there is Washington’s second-fastest pace. Put those together, and you are going to get an absolute track meet of a game. Tyrese Haliburton is the story here for the Pacers, averaging 26 points, 12 assists, and four rebounds on the season. His price is through the roof, but you won’t find him in a better game environment than this one. He’s a tough fade on this slate. Dennis Schröder FD - $6600 DK - $6300Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 36.75 DK - 39.73 The Hawks and Raptors played the other night, and the game went to the moon, finishing with a 135-128 Toronto win. Now they’ll run it back, and we could see a lot of scoring once again. Dennis Schröder comes in as a good DraftKings play at $6300 and is coming off running 36 minutes against Atlanta. He finished with 17 points and seven assists. The floor is high here considering the projected pace-up spot for the Raptors and he offers a way to get exposure to this game with the middle-tier salary. Other Notes There is quite a bit of injury news out there as of this writing. We will need to keep an eye out for a bunch of players moving in or out of lineups. If Zion Williamson sits, then CJ McCollum (FD 7900 DK 7600) and Brandon Ingram (FD 8400 DK 8200) would be great cash game plays once again. Similarly, if Lebron James sits again, then D'Angelo Russell (FD 6800 DK 7100) and Austin Reaves (FD 6500 DK 6700) would be value plays as well. The game has the highest over/under (244) of the slate by a wide margin and when it comes to scoring, this could be the spot. Of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the main attraction here, averaging 30.4 points and 6.2 assists on the season along with 3.7 steals + blocks. The defensive stats give him a high ceiling on FanDuel with the minutes among the best in the league when games are close. This is likely where to start cash game builds in the upper tier and he could see a lot of ownership on both sites even with the understanding that he’s very expensive. Anfernee Simons FD - $8300 DK - $7800Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 48 DK - 52.4 One caveat I have with Anfernee Simons on this slate is that running him in cash games is under the assumption that Malcolm Brogdon continues to sit out. If that’s the case then Simons has an incredibly high floor. He’s averaged 37 minutes a game since returning from injury and in that stretch is putting up 32 points and 5.3 assists while taking close to 24 shots a contest. The usage is nuts and the minutes are there. The price hasn’t caught up really and he’s taking on a very weak Utah Jazz defensive unit. Collin Sexton FD - $5400 DK - $5700Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 28.69 DK - 31.61 Jordan Clarkson and Keyonte George are both out and that’s going to likely mean all of the minutes for Colin Sexton on Thursday. He started Wednesday’s game against the Knicks and led the team in shots with 18. Sexton finished with a team-high 26 points while adding in seven assists. Considering how short the Jazz are in guard depth and how many shot attempts are out of the lineup right now, this is a smash spot for Sexton who will likely see a lot...

Neither is priced like they are taking over the offense and don’t have the salaries requisite with the Lakers sitting their two stars. We’ll likely be stacking the Lakers across the board in this game against the Spurs who have a bottom-five defense. Expect both Russell and Reaves to be massive chalk on this slate. This isn’t one we have to think too hard about. Jalen Brunson FD - $7800 DK - $8200Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 43.57 DK - 47.05 The Knicks get a potentially great matchup against the Jazz here and seeing as how Utah appears fully in the tank, there hasn’t been much resistance from them at all of late. We’ve seen a bit of a price dip on Brunson in the short term with the scoring down some. But he’s had some slower matchups against the Raptors and a game against the Celtics in there. This is a total get-right spot for a guy averaging close to 25 points and 5.6 assists on the season. As long as the minutes are there then Brunson is a high floor cash game play. Small Forward Scottie Barnes FD - $8900 DK - $8600Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 52.79 DK - 54.69 The Raptors take on the Hawks on Wednesday, and this game has the third-highest over/under total on the slate, which is really saying something, considering Toronto is involved with the game. But a lot of that (or really all of it) is because Atlanta plays the 27th-ranked defensive efficiency in the league and the third-fastest pace....

He’s coming off a 32-minute game against the Pacers in the In-Season Final, but before that, it had been pretty hit or miss. Regardless, against a team without a clear point-of-attack defense, Russell should be able to score here, and I do think there’s some chance LeBron and AD take their foot off the gas, at least some after the games over the weekend. Dante Exum FD - $6100 DK - $5700Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 37.8 DK - 40.09 Jaden Hardy FD - $4300 DK - $4600Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 26.04 DK - 29.09 There’s some weirdness here because obviously, it would seem like Luka Doncic is the play here with Kyrie Irving out. But the price is high on him; it’s a short slate, and the Mavericks are coming on the back-to-back after Luka ran 44 minutes in the win over the Grizzlies. With Kyrie Irving out, Tim Hardaway Jr. questionable, and Derrick Jones Jr. doubtful. The Mavericks could need a lot of minutes from both of these guys. Dante Exum has been excellent in an expanded role lately, averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds over the last three games. And he’s taking just about 12 shots per game in that stretch as well. The usage, even sharing the court with Luka is fine. His price has climbed some but I still think he’s something of a value all things considered. Meanwhile, Jaden Hardy is a bit riskier here, and we might need firm injury news on THJ first. The Mavericks are going to be without Kyrie Irving for this game, and that’s going to put Luka Doncic in the position of basically doing everything for this team. Luka goes from a 35% usage rate to a 36% rate with Kyrie off the court, but the on-ball time and assists climb as well. The price is through the roof for sure so it’s not a total lock here, but along with Joel Embiid, no other players have higher floors (and ceilings) than Luka on this slate. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $11600 DK - $10600Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 61.15 DK - 60.42 With some savings at power forward and center, we could be in the market for starting two higher-priced guards on this slate. Now, fitting Luka and SGA together in a lineup isn’t easy, but the latter is also in an incredible spot here as well. The Thunder have a 122.5 projected total against the Jazz, and Shai has been amazing this season. He’s averaging a 30.5/ 6.2/ 5.6 line with 2.8 steals per game as well. The efficiency is about as good as you’ll get from a guard, and he has a very high floor for about $1K less than Luka. Anfernee Simons FD - $7700 DK - $7800Opponent - LACProj Pts FD - 40.2 DK - 44.74 I’d much prefer playing Anfernee Simons if I knew that Malcolm Brogdon was going to sit again, but either way we are in a good spot here. Simons, since returning from injury, has been playing major minutes and taking a ton of shots. He’s averaging 24 shots per game over the last two, with 29 points and six assists per game in that stretch. The price hasn’t fully adjusted to him being all the way back, and we have a good chance of keeping buying here in the short term. Cade Cunningham FD...
