Guards Luka Doncic FD - $12400 DK - $12400 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 60.86 DK - 64.5 If you aren't just locking in the massive fantasy point floor at this point, you are missing out on an all-time run from Luka. He has now dropped 80 or more DraftKings points in three straight and four of his last five games while averaging a triple-double with 45.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 10.2 assists. He has even hit that 80 or more total twice against these Rockets in which he faces again tonight. The price has only come up slightly on the best player in fantasy against a bottom-three defence. There should be more than enough value on this bigger slate to build around Luka in all formats. LaMelo Ball FD - $9700 DK - $10000 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 49.09 DK - 54 The more optimal route on this slate is probably to load up on the Lakers/Hornets game which brings us the highest total(240.5) on the slate between two teams that run a Top 10 pace. We will talk about LeBron shortly but on the other side of the ball, we have another very consistent fantasy option in LaMelo Ball. When healthy, is easily one of the best fantasy guards in the game and since returning from injury in mid-December(10 games), he has been elite dropping at least 40 DraftKings points in every game and 50 or more in six of his last seven. Like you would expect from a superstar, he contributes in all areas and is a great play to build around in all formats. Klay Thompson FD - $7600 DK - $7100 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 34.93 DK - 38.69 For the most part, we have been concentrating mostly on Jordan Poole since Stephen Curry went down with a shoulder injury but it's actually Thompson who stands out for me tonight. It starts with the obvious with Klay now cheaper than Poole on both sites while showing a little more consistency in terms of his fantasy returns. It is a small sample size but it appears Klay has found his shot lately with double-digit attempts from beyond the arc in three straight while shooting nearly 40% and providing 40+ fantasy points in each. This game has the 2nd highest...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 1/1
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 1/1/23 Welcome to 2023! It's hard to believe 2023 is even a real thing, but you've made it! We have just three games in the first slate of the year, with all of them starting at 8ET. Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo are obvious plays, so we're not even going to write those superstars up. We want to help you build lineups, and the easiest way to do that is to find the players to piece with those superstars. Without further ado, let's start with the next best pay-up option on the board! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Ja Morant FD - $10500 DK - $9900 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 48.09 DK - 49.74 You have to pay a hefty price tag to afford Antetokounmpo and Jokic, but Morant is just as good of a value at $2,000 cheaper. The feisty point guard has scored at least 42 DraftKings points in 20 of his last 22 games. The only outliers were a blowout and an ejection, with Ja generating a 48-point average in that stretch. This is simply one of the best players in the NBA, and he should go nuts against the Kings. Sacramento sits 24th in points allowed and 25th in defensive efficiency. In their most recent matchup, Morant dropped 54 DraftKings points in another pristine performance. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8800 DK - $8600 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 40.4 DK - 41.07 This feels like one of those games where Fox and Morant will go at it all night. Neither of these guys are known for their defensive game, and they should thrive against one another. Fox has at least 32 DK points in eight straight games, scoring at least 43 DraftKings points in six of those. We've seen a similar floor all year, with Fox scoring at least 29 fantasy points in all but three games this year. The speedster has sliced this Grizzlies defense in their two matchups this season, averaging 51 fantasy points per game, scoring 61 DK points in their most recent meeting. Monte Morris (FD $5600 DK $4900) should continue to see increased touches in the absence of Bradley Beal. Shooting Guard Desmond Bane FD...

Guards Luka Doncic FD - $12400 DK - $12100 Opponent - SA Proj Pts FD - 63.5 DK - 67.7 Are you not entertained? Luka is on an all-time run right now but for some reason has not seen his price spike back up to the $13K level which has him as the center of attention once again on Saturday. He comes in with back-to-back triple-double performances, has dropped 80 or more DraftKings points, and is averaging 60.8 FD/64.4 DK points per game since the start of December. I look for this all-time run to continue in a matchup against the Spurs who rank dead last in defence and top 10 in pace. Fire up Luka in all formats. LaMelo Ball FD - $9300 DK - $10000 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 46.29 DK - 51.33 Building around Luka can be a challenge if not enough value pops up by lock so if you happen to pivot to a more balanced build, you cannot go wrong with Ball. Since returning from injury in mid-December(nine games), he has been on another level starting with the usage as he is taking over 21 shots a game and has delivered in a big way averaging 25.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game. In that time he has tallied at least 40 DraftKings points in all nine games while topping 50 in five of his last six. Those are numbers we expect from the superstars of the game and Ball has become just that and is in play in all formats against a Nets team that struggles defending guards. Immanuel Quickley FD - $6700 DK - $5700 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 36.53 DK - 39.05 Jalen Brunson is in danger of missing a third straight game on Saturday and with RJ Barrett already ruled out, there is Knicks value once again. With Brunson out at the guard position, Quickley is the one who has taken the reigns of the offence and has gotten everything he can handle. He has played 51 and 43 minutes the last two games while taking a whopping 48 shots including 22 from beyond the arc. The shooting improved last game seeing him put up a season-high 36 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists for a near-60 fantasy point performance....

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Markelle Fultz FD - $6800 DK - $6000Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 34.05 DK - 36.77 Terrence Ross FD - $3700 DK - $3100Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 19.52 DK - 22.02 The Magic had so many suspensions stemming from the fight against the Pistons the other night that they actually can’t even serve them all at once. It’s still going to mean a super small roster for this game, and then the same will happen (with different players) in the next game as well. Cole Anthony, among others, is out of this game as is Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, while Jalen Suggs remains on the shelf. That should lead to a lot of minutes for Markelle Fultz and Terrence Ross in the backcourt for Orlando and they are priced like it’s a typical game. Fultz isn’t a super high-usage guy in this offense but has taken double-digit shots in each of the last two games. Plus, the assists and rebounds are definitely part of his game. Meanwhile, Terrence Ross should get the start after being in and out of this rotation with Orlando getting healthier in recent weeks. But we’ve seen him able to get his shots up on a per-minute basis when the opportunity is there and he’s the minimum on both sites. Playing both of these guys (and some other Magic) is likely the way to go considering the state of the team right now. Jordan Poole FD - $7500 DK - $8200Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 40.9 DK - 45.5 Poole is still coming too cheap on FanDuel for the role he is playing with the Warriors right now. With Curry out of the mix and Golden State desperate for shot creation, Poole has been putting up 20+ shots a game in the short term, averaging 27.3 points over the last three games. He needs to get there on scoring seeing as how the Warriors don’t ask him to rebound or ball distribute all that much, but the FanDuel price makes that a bit easier. It’s been up and down, but I do like the price on Zach LaVine (FD...

Guards Luka Doncic FD - $12400 DK - $12000 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 61.79 DK - 65.59 Hard not to concentrate on Luka tonight coming off a game for the ages where he became the only player in history to drop a 60-point triple-double. While I am not expecting another 100-point fantasy performance, it seems odd that the price never budged on DraftKings and is still $1000 lower than his season-high of $13K. Luka provides an elite floor with his contributions across the board with access to a huge ceiling, especially against a Rockets team that is 28th in defensive efficiency and 30th in fantasy points to guards. More than enough value should pop up to make it easier to build around Luka in all formats. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $10800 DK - $10100 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 53.22 DK - 54.89 In terms of cash game lineup construction, it is going to be much more optimal to start your lineup and build around SGA who seemingly checks all the boxes tonight. First of all, while he doesn't have anywhere near the same ceiling as Luka, the floor has been very comparable this season. Over 31 games played, he has provided 50 or more DraftKings points 18 times while posting under 40 points just four times. He contributes across the board with averages of 31.5 points, 5.8 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks+steals. We should see that floor once again in a projected high-pace game against a Hornets team that is 27th in defensive efficiency and 10th in pace. Fire up SGA in all formats Thursday. Immanuel Quickley FD - $6000 DK - $5000 Opponent - SA Proj Pts FD - 34.56 DK - 37.28 We will have to keep an eye on the Jalen Brunson injury but it appears he could miss a second straight game opening up some value for the Knicks' backcourt. It was Quickley who benefited last game in an overtime marathon against the Mavericks. He played an insane 51 minutes and picked up a season-high 15 assists and 42 DraftKings points. While that is not very sustainable, neither is the terrible shooting he displayed making just 5 of 21 shots(24%) and just 1 for 10 from beyond the arc. Either way, if he starts, I love the matchup against a...

Point Guard Jordan Poole FD - $7600 DK - $8600 Opponent - UTA Proj Pts FD - 42.83 DK - 45.52 We've seen two different Pooles this season. The one who starts and the one who comes off the bench. The good news is that we're seeing the starting JP right now, starting at point guard in the absence of Stephen Curry. That's quite the role to step into, with Poole leading the team with a 34 percent usage rate when Chef Curry is off the floor. He's also scored at least 28 DraftKings points in 14 of his 16 starts, generating a 37-point average in those 14 games. The simple fact is, he's seeing a massive boost in usage, minutes, and shot attempts as long as Curry is sidelined. We adore that against Utah, with the Jazz allowing the most fantasy points to opposing guards this season. Markelle Fultz FD - $6300 DK - $5900 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 29.09 DK - 29.06 It's been sad watching Fultz deal with injuries year after year, but Orlando fans are ecstatic to see him fully healthy for the first time in his career. Fultz has been starting at point guard for a month now, scoring at least 27 DK points in six of his last seven games. He's also providing a 35-point average in that span, stuffing the stat sheet at ease. That's why he was the top pick in the draft back in 2017, and we have to believe he'll get better the more he plays, and the more he gets acclimated with this offense. Facing Detroit is also delicious, with the Pistons ranked 29th in both defensive efficiency and points allowed. Kyle Lowry (FD $6400 DK $6900) could be a monster if Bam and Butler are out again. Shooting Guard Tyler Herro FD - $7900 DK - $9300 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 46.53 DK - 48.6 It's hard to understand why there's such a discrepancy in terms of pricing, but Herro is one of the best plays out there, no matter what site you play on. The Sixth Man of the Year winner has broken out in the...
