DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 1/8
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 1/8/23 The scoring in the NBA right now is nuts. Many skeptics would argue that it's a lack of defense, but that's a lazy response. It's all about the offenses because these players are unstoppable in today's NBA. It's led to more 40-point games than ever in the history of the sport, and the big stat lines will continue to flow in. We're projecting another one here from the hottest player in the NBA, so let's start there! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $12500 DK - $12900 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 65.15 DK - 68.02 This Doncic pricing is insane, but the Slovenian is worth it every single night. This guy is posting some of the most absurd stats in NBA history, leading the league with 64 DraftKings points per game. That's no surprise since he's flirting with a league-leading 40 percent usage rate, doing everything for this Dallas offense. His most recent form is truly ridiculous, averaging 41.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.9 steals over his last seven games. The only concern is that this is the second half of a back-to-back set. If Doncic does end up sitting, Spencer Dinwiddie and Christian Wood would be the best plays on the board. We say that because Oklahoma City ranks 25th in total defense. D'Angelo Russell FD - $7000 DK - $7300 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 33.38 DK - 34.34 Russell has remained around this $7K price tag, and it's hard to understand why. The former All-Star is amid one of the best stretches of his career right now, seeing a massive boost in usage and shot attempts in the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns. That's led to Russell scoring at least 33 DraftKings points in 17 of his last 20 games. He's also averaging over 35 fantasy points per game in that span, scoring over 40 DK points in half of those games. A matchup with the Rockets is the best part of this, with Houston surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing point guards. In their four matchups since the start of last season, D-Lo is averaging 41 DraftKings points per game. De'Anthony...

Guards Once again the guard we get Luka at the top of the guard position on a smaller slate but with a price quickly approaching $13K and with him dealing with a slight injury, I am going a more balanced direction tonight. Let's take a look. Klay Thompson FD - $7900 DK - $7900 Opponent - ORL Proj Pts FD - 38.45 DK - 42.57 We have multiple situations in which injuries are boosting other players and it starts with the Warriors guards as Steph Curry remains out of the lineup. Poole and Klay have taken on an incredible amount of usage in the offense but it's the latter who is not only cheaper but has been more consistent from a fantasy perspective. Going back to Christmas, Klay has averaged 26 shots a game and made the most of it with 24 or more real points and 40 or more DraftKings points in each of those games. He now gets a plus home matchup against the struggling Magic who have lost four of five while giving up an average of 121 points a game. Klay is my top PTS/$ guard in all formats. CJ McCollum FD - $8700 DK - $8500 Opponent - DAL Proj Pts FD - 40.38 DK - 44.71 It sounds like Brandon Ingram will finally return to the Pels lineup within the next week but until he does, we can comfortably roll out McCollum as a top guard, especially on a smaller slate. With Ingram out for over a month, the Pels managed to stay near the top of the Western Conference standings and a lot of that falls on McCollum who has been very consistent. Over his last 12 games, he has averaged 26.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists and has only tallied less than 40 DK points once in that time while averaging 45.6 per game. That balanced attack helps justify a rising price that is close to $9K on both sites and I will have exposure in all formats until Ingram returns. Markelle Fultz FD - $7200 DK - $6200 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 31.63 DK - 33.55 There is a real lack of value on this slate which has led me to a balanced approach and Fultz fits that mould, at least on DraftKings where the price still has...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $10200 DK - $10100Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 52.62 DK - 57.37 It’s going to be tough choosing among some of the more expensive options on this slate because there are a number of superstars in great spots on Friday. One of them is James Harden who will once again be running without Joel Embiid in the lineup. With Embiid out of the lineup this season, Harden has a 32% usage rate and could be looking at around 20 shots in this game. He’s coming off an overtime win against the Pacers on Wednesday that saw him put up 26 points, eight assists, and six rebounds, a line that would seem on the lower end of his expectation with Embiid out of the lineup. Along those lines, Tyrese Maxey (FD 7100 DK 7000) looks like he is back to full minutes now and is coming at a reasonable price on DraftKings. Buddy Hield FD - $6700 DK - $6200Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 33.28 DK - 37.1 Andrew Nembhard FD - $4300 DK - $3900Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 22.91 DK - 24.22 If looking for mid-tier or lower plays, there could be coming in this game between the Pacers and the Blazers. Both Hield and Nembhard are coming off playing 40+ minutes in an overtime game against the Sixers and Hield was particularly effective. He went for 22 points, nine rebounds, and six assists with his 22 shots, a team-high. The DraftKings price combined with extra points for the threes on that site make him an appealing option. Meanwhile, Nembhard could be more of a price play option if punts don’t open up as we get closer to lock. The minutes should be in the 30s for the rookie though admittedly the fantasy production is a bit hit or miss. That being said, he’s coming on the lower end of the pricing scale and the sites have gotten significantly more efficient with salaries of late. Josh Richardson FD - $4800 DK - $3800Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 24.28 DK - 26.9 Again, we might find ourselves hunting out...

Guards Luka Doncic FD - $12800 DK - $12600 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 61.1 DK - 62.52 On a larger slate, I might not lead off with Luka as the price is approaching $13K on both sites but with just four games I think it's crucial to lock in the insane floor he provides. He comes into the night having scored 57 or more DraftKings points in seven straight while averaging a ridiculous 77.8 along the way. The matchup isn't at the top of my list as the Celtics are 10th in defensive efficiency but Luka is practically matchup-proof at this point and a great building block in all formats. Ja Morant FD - $10500 DK - $10400 Opponent - ORL Proj Pts FD - 48.09 DK - 52.13 While Morant, or any other player for that matter, doesn't quite have the ceiling of Luka he has been incredibly consistent and more importantly comes at over a $2K discount on both sites making it a bit easier to build around. On the season, Morant has posted 40+ DraftKings points in 27 of 32 games(84%) and 50+ in 17 of those which is greater than a 53% rate and a terrific floor for fantasy. We have him meeting or exceeding that 50-point mark tonight in a plus matchup against the short-handed Magic who rank 23rd in defensive efficiency. Fire up Morant comfortably in all formats. Mike Conley FD - $6200 DK - $5700 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 30.4 DK - 32.75 Value at the guard position is scarce, so let's turn to a game with the highest total on the slate. The Jazz are 5.5-point favourites with the highest implied team total on the slate and it comes down to matchup as the Rockets have struggled mightily on the defensive end(28th in efficiency) this season. For Conley, his usage was limited upon his return to the lineup in mid-December but that has since changed as he has taken double-digit shots in four of his last five games but it's the assists(7.8 per game) that have given him safety for fantasy averaging 31.9 DK points per game during that stretch. Conley is in play for me in all formats tonight. Small Forward Gary Harris FD - $3800 DK - $3800 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD -...
Daily Fantasy DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Picks – Wednesday, January 4, 2023
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 1/4/23 This is going to be a wild slate. We have 12 games in total and one of the most massive player pools all year. The injury report is also ridiculous, and we should see some big lines once again. We've had a handful of 50-point games over the last week, and it's becoming evident that these absurd stat lines are going to continue for the remainder of the season. I wasn't so sure we'd ever see a 100-point game ever again, but I'm starting to change my tune with the way people can score nowadays. It surely won't happen here, but we should see some big games from some undervalued players. Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard CJ McCollum FD - $8600 DK - $8200 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 40.32 DK - 41.43 McCollum is my favorite play on the board. It looks like New Orleans will be without Brandon Ingram (toe) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) for this game, leaving McCollum to do everything. That means he should play 35-40 minutes, take 20-25 shots, and flirt with a 40 percent usage rate. He's already had a few opportunities to run the show without those stars this season, averaging 25.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks in the last three games without Zion and BI. That alone makes him an amazing value below $9K, but he also faces a Rockets team that's allowing the most fantasy points to opposing guards this season. Markelle Fultz FD - $6800 DK - $6600 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 42.24 DK - 42.06 It's been a long road for Fultz to get to this point, but the 2017 number-one pick is healthy for the first time in his career. He's more than just healthy, he is also playing the best basketball of his career right now. The former Philly guard has scored at least 27 DraftKings points in eight of his last nine games, generating a 35-point average in that span. His ability to stuff the stat sheet is what makes him such a reliable option, struggling with his shot but providing a multitude of statistics. That means he has an even...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Jordan Clarkson FD - $7100 DK - $7000Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 34.61 DK - 38.92 Mike Conley FD - $5800 DK - $5300Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 29.55 DK - 32.37 The game between the Jazz and the Kings has, by far, the biggest total on this three-game slate at 242.5 and we are going to want as much exposure as possible to this one. It’s a little easier on DraftKings than it is on FanDuel with guys like Clarkson and Conley coming cheaper there. The Jazz are without Colin Sexton in this one, making them a bit thinner in the backcourt and both the starters should see minutes in the low-to-mid 30s as long as the game stays close. Clarkson has scored 20+ points in seven consecutive games and is getting up about 17 shots per game over the last month. He has to score in order to hit value though the assists will come from time to time. Meanwhile, Conley’s usage can come and go depending on the game, though the assists haven't been there consistently. This should be a faster game though with the Kings running the 4th fastest pace with the 24th-ranked defensive efficiency. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8800 DK - $9000Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 44.51 DK - 47.61 Again, this is the game to target, and trying to fit pieces from the Kings and Jazz on the shorter Tuesday slate is going to be the way to go. Fox is a bit cheaper on FanDuel and we could be playing mix and match depending on the different sites and the different pricing. Fox isn’t the most consistent guy in the world on a game-to-game basis, something of a byproduct of the way the Kings run their offense. But it’s also what has kept his price in the $8K range. He still has double-double potential and the Jazz have the 26th-ranked defensive efficiency on the season. Jrue Holiday FD - $8300 DK - $8100Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 41.49 DK - 45.39 We have an interesting case with Jrue Holiday here in knowing exactly how to play...
