Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Josh Giddey FD - $7900 DK - $8400Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 40.41 DK - 44.61 The first big injury news of the day is that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will sit this game out with a knee sprain. Considering he has a 31.2 usage rate on the season, there are going to be a lot of shots and considerable opportunity opening up in this offense. Dating back to last season, when SGA was out of the lineup, Josh Giddey’s usage rate climbs to 26%, the highest on the team. There are some new faces here for sure, but Giddey stands to be the primary ball handler and could see a minutes bump as well. He is a strong play on both sites, but especially FanDuel at sub-$8K. Malcolm Brogdon FD - $6500 DK - $6500Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 38.91 DK - 42.36 Shaedon Sharpe FD - $7100 DK - $7300Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 34.18 DK - 36.91 The other big piece of injury news is that Scoot Henderson will miss at least one game with an ankle sprain. It’s very easy to see what opportunity this will open up in the Blazers’ offense. Malcolm Brogdon will draw the start at point guard and is due for a minutes bump at the very least. With Portland this season, he’s averaging 18 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in about 27 minutes. If that bumps into the low 30s then he should hit value easily against a struggling Memphis Grizzlies team. Meanwhile, Shaedon Sharpe has been playing massive minutes for Portland, averaging more than 39 (you read that right) over the last four. He blew it out of the box last game with 29 points, seven assists, and five rebounds and should be up for a solid line again in this one. The price is excellent on FanDuel. Strongly consider Desmond Bane (FD 8100 DK 8800) against a weak Portland Trailblazers defense. Small Forward Jimmy Butler FD - $8300 DK - $8400Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 44.24 DK - 45.94 The Washington Wizards are quickly becoming the dream matchup in fantasy, running the fastest...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard CJ McCollum FD - $7700 DK - $7200Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 39.79 DK - 42.76 Jordan Hawkins FD - $4300 DK - $4600Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 24.04 DK - 26.69 CJ McCollum has been a popular play over the last couple of games, but that’s been contingent on Brandon Ingram being out of the lineup. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether Ingram will sit again on Thursday with the knee soreness, but he has been ruled out on the earlier side for each of the last two games. McCollum sees a big usage and on-ball uptick, taking 17 and 21 shots in each of the last two games. And now he’ll be facing a Pistons team that is middling in terms of pace and actually slightly above average in defensive efficiency. With CJ, make sure the Brandon Ingram news is set before clicking the button. Additionally, Jordan Hawkins would fall into this same kind of contingent spot as McCollum if Brandon Ingram were to sit. Hawkins got the start in each of the last two games, playing 35 and 37 minutes each. The rookie was a chalkier play on Wednesday and got up a whopping 19 shots though struggled with efficiency making only four. He would be close to a lock at his current pricing on both sites if he were to start again so we will need the news on Ingram first. Markelle Fultz FD - $5800 DK - $5500Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 34.22 DK - 35.77 After drafting Anthony Black and keeping Cole Anthony, it was thought that Markelle Fultz could struggle a bit with playing time this season. But that hasn’t been the case, especially in the last couple of games going 32 and 33 minutes respectively. He doesn’t shoot threes, but is able to maintain a higher fantasy floor because he does get to the rim and rebound the position well. He’s yet to put it all together in one bigger game this season, but there’s reason to expect it at some point. The Jazz have been the third-worst defensive efficiency team so far this season...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Ben Simmons FD - $7100 DK - $6800Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 39.91 DK - 41.98 Cam Thomas FD - $7800 DK - $6600Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 34.63 DK - 37.23 You can’t love the matchup here against the Miami Heat, but the Nets are already down bad in the injury department and are going to have to run the starters a lot of minutes here. Spencer Dinwiddie is doubtful along with Dennis Smith Jr while Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton are already out. It’s going to mean a lot of run for Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas in the backcourt. Ben Simmons is already putting together solid fantasy lines even without shooting all that much. He’s averaging 8.3 points, 10 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game to go with two blocks+steals. At his price points with the idea that he’ll play even more minutes now, I think he makes for a pretty easy buy even in a bad matchup. And then there is Cam Thomas who has been one of the true breakout stories here to start the season. He’s averaging 33 points per game through the first three, taking 19 shots from the field and getting to the line a ton. You won’t get much in the way of other stats from him, so it’s scoring or bust. But the usage is so high it’s tough to pass him up on DraftKings especially. Fred VanVleet FD - $7500 DK - $7400Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 39.49 DK - 42.68 Jalen Green FD - $6600 DK - $6100Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 36.28 DK - 40.12 The Rockets are 0-3 and you have to think they are going to go all out here against the Hornets to try and get that first W of the season. The starters, in close games at least, are locked into high minutes and that’s what we should see out of Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green in this game. FVV has been inefficient from the field, starting the season shooting only 37% and barely getting to the line. He had a great game against the Spurs...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Damian Lillard FD - $9800 DK - $10000Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 46.24 DK - 50.67 This is an interesting situation with the Bucks on Monday. It looks like Giannis Antetokounmpo will rest here against Miami (not confirmed at the time of this writing). If that’s the case one would have to assume that Damian Lillard has ridiculous usage in this game. He really struggled on Sunday against the Hawks, taking only 12 shots in the blowout loss. Dame finished with just six points and five assists. But he’s only a game removed from a 20 FG/ 17 FT game against the Sixers and this is Damian Freaking Lillard we are talking about. He’s a tough fade on both sites considering the situation. Cam Thomas FD - $7800 DK - $6000Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 34.53 DK - 36.93 Ben Simmons FD - $6700 DK - $6400Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 37.15 DK - 37.97 Spencer Dinwiddie FD - $6000 DK - $6100Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 37.08 DK - 40.42 Let’s just group all of these guys together and call the Nets an “interesting” fantasy team at this point. They moved Cam Thomas into the starting lineup for Cam Johnson on Friday and he responded by taking 19 shots in 33 minutes, scoring 30 points while also adding seven rebounds. He’s quickly becoming a fantasy star and has always (when given the chance) been one of the better per-minute scorers around. He’s still coming too cheap on DraftKings for this opportunity. Meanwhile the questions around Spencer Dinwiddie and Ben Simmons, from a fantasy perspective, are a bit tougher to answer. Simmons still isn’t shooting much, but he still piled up a 10/10/8/2/2 line against the Mavericks in 32 minutes. He does enough across the stat line to keep the floor high and without Nic Claxton his minutes are a bit safer here. He’s a value on FanDuel still. Finally, Dinwiddie is coming in the middle tier on both sites and has had an up-and-down first couple of games. We saw the scoring spike against Dallas, but the first game was a rough...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard LaMelo Ball FD - $9400 DK - $9700Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 47.52 DK - 51.81 There isn’t a lot of defense expected in this Hornets-Pistons game and that’s going to be good news from a fantasy perspective. LaMelo Ball ran about 32 minutes in the first game of the season, going for a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. He struggled from the field at 4-15 which is somewhat problematic, but a good sign for the usage. His price on FanDuel is right in the sweet spot and even though this game doesn’t have the highest total, we can have exposure here. Because of the way he contributes across the stat line, the floor is high even in this tier. Cade Cunningham FD - $8700 DK - $8800Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 45.35 DK - 49.04 One of the big surprises from the first night of the season was the insane usage Cade Cunningham had coming back from a lost 2023 season. He put up a whopping 27 shots for the Pistons in their one-point loss to the Heat. Cade had twice as many shots as the next closes Pistons guy and this could be a trend that continues going forward. And even with all of the chucking, he still managed nine assists as well. He’s the whole offense right now and these prices are simply too low. Scoot Henderson FD - $5500 DK - $5900Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 32.44 DK - 35.42 The bad news first: the Blazers stink and they got killed in the first game of the season, losing 123-11 to the Clippers. Don’t let the final score fool you, this was well over before a garbage time “comeback” in the 4th quarter. The good news though is that Scoot Henderson played through the blowout, running 36 minutes when it was all said and done. He didn’t pile on the stats, but I think those are going to come for the #2 overall pick and his price is too low on both sites. Chris Paul FD - $8100 DK - $6600Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 36.58 DK...

Daily Fantasy DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Picks - Thursday, October 26, 2023 We’ve got a smaller, two-game NBA slate here but there’s already some injury stuff we need to pay close attention to going in. Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Tyrese Maxey FD - $7700 DK - $7500Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 34.76 DK - 37.5 De'Anthony Melton FD - $5800 DK - $5300Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 29.02 DK - 30.83 This pretty straightforward and will likely be the direction most NBA DFS lineups go tonight. We can thank James Harden for that. With the Beard still holding out (or whatever you call it) Tyrese Maxey and De'Anthony Melton will take most of the backcourt minutes for the 76ers. Last season, with James Harden off the court, Tyrese Maxey had the second-highest usage on the team at 29.1% (only Embiid higher) and that trend should continue tonight as well. Maxey is the clear beneficiary of Harden choosing not to play and it’s really not a secret at all. That being said, he isn’t priced for this opportunity and is still coming at a relative bargain even on a two-game slate. Meanwhile, the real win for Melton here is with the minutes. Rather than a 22-25 minute guy off the bench, he’ll enter the starting lineup and is likely to see run in the mid-30s at least. Philly does have Patrick Beverley behind these guys, but that’s about the extent of their on-ball guard depth and that’s even a stretch to say about P-Bev. Stacking the 76ers guards here is the play in cash. Small Forward Kevin Durant FD - $9800 DK - $8900Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 49.55 DK - 53.56 The other big injury news for this slate is that Devin Booker is going to sit for the Suns who are already without Bradley Beal. It’s going to push Kevin Durant into must-play territory and his price on DraftKings is kind of a joke with this news. Durant ran 37 minutes in the opener, a win over the Warriors, going for 18 points while struggling from the field at 7-22. But he grabbed 11 rebounds and the minutes should be at unhealthy levels once again. Durant is going to...
