Point Guard/ Shooting Guard LaMelo Ball FD - $8900 DK - $9600Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 47.86 DK - 53.43 This slate has a ton of high totals on it going in so there could be a mix of value depending on where you want to target. The Hornets and Warriors is one of those games, coming in at a 234.5 over/under and setting up to be an up-and-down affair. LaMelo is playing minutes in the 36-37 range each night and has triple-double potential when things break right. Over the last three games, he’s averaging 25 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. And the FanDuel price hasn’t caught up with that level of production. James Harden FD - $9600 DK - $9700Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 49.62 DK - 54.39 James Harden has been playing major minutes of late for the 76ers, a welcome sign if we are running him in cash games. He’s played 37 or more in regulation in four of the last five and topped 40 in each of the last two. Those latter numbers probably aren’t going to be the norm, but it’s clear Doc Rivers and company are fine with major run for Harden at this point. He’s two games removed from a 20-point, 21-assists, 11-rebound game against the Clippers and followed it up with a strong Christmas Day showing as well. Chris Paul FD - $8200 DK - $8000Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 41.5 DK - 44.02 Damion Lee FD - $4400 DK - $4400Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 24.47 DK - 27.69 The Suns are, once again, going to be without Devin Booker and now they won’t have Landry Shamet off the bench either. That’s going to, presumably, mean that there are a lot of guard minutes to go around and Chris Paul and Damion Lee should pick up most of that in the backcourt. It’s been somewhat hit or miss for CP3 with Booker out of the mix though in close games the minutes are definitely there. He’s double-doubled in two of the last three games and can get there with points and assists even against a strong Grizzlies...

Guards LaMelo Ball FD - $8900 DK - $10200 Opponent - POR Proj Pts FD - 46.22 DK - 51.49 We are going to want plenty of exposure to this game with a monster 237.5 total with two teams facing each other who both rank outside the Top 20 in defensive efficiency. It is very close between Lillard and Ball at point guard here, but the recency bias has me leaning the latter as my top pick. Since returning from injury in mid-December, Ball has been terrific with three double-doubles, a triple-double, and is averaging nearly 50 fantasy points a game. All things considered, Ball is my top guard and in play in all formats, especially on FanDuel at a sub $9K price tag. CJ McCollum FD - $8800 DK - $8600 Opponent - IND Proj Pts FD - 44.76 DK - 48.23 Speaking of rising prices, we have CJ McCollum who is approaching the $9K territory but with Brandon Ingram out for one more game, I am not concerned at all. Over his last eight games without Ingram, he has been very efficient for fantasy averaging 25.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists giving us a return of nearly 50 fantasy points a game. He may lose a little bit of volume with Zion back tonight but in a game with a 233 total where both teams rank Top 15 in pace, there should be more than enough meat on the bone for CJ to thrive once again. Norman Powell FD - $5200 DK - $5200 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 25.93 DK - 28.09 For value at the guard position, stay tuned to the Clippers starting lineup as Powell is projected to start and while the total is lower the matchup stands out as the Pistons are 29th in defense and run an above-average pace. Powell made his return from injury last week and has looked good off the bench putting up 14 and 21 points in those two games while adding six assists and six rebounds. At this current price, we are only looking for about 25-28 fantasy points and if he starts and plays 25-30 minutes, I have no concern of him hitting value for us. If he starts I will have exposure in all formats. Small Forward DeMar DeRozan FD - $8500 DK -...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11800 DK - $12500Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 57.64 DK - 59.15 There are a bunch of outstanding injury issues hanging there for the his Christmas which might swing some of these lineups throughout the day, but we can feel pretty good about spending up for Luka. The 230 over/under is tied for the highest of the slate and the Lakers play a top-10 opposing pace on a day with a lot of slow and defensively-sound teams. Doncic is coming off an insane game against the Rockets that saw him drop 50 points while also adding in 10 assists, and eight rebounds. If we can find some cheap plays elsewhere, Luka has as high a floor as there is in the game. Jalen Brunson FD - $7500 DK - $7300Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 38.88 DK - 41.83 Jalen Brunson is coming off a rougher game against the Bulls when he was also fairly high owned on FanDuel. I do think we are still getting him at a value here even against a tougher matchup against the Sixers. Brunson has a very high minutes floor in close games, having run 38 and 39 in each of the last two games respectively. He’s getting up almost 16 shots a game over the last months and averaging 18 points and six assists in that span. On a slate that might not has a ton of punt play value we might have to operate in the middle tier for cash games. Jordan Poole FD - $7800 DK - $8300Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 37.75 DK - 41.79 The Warriors have been involved in some blowouts of late which has cut down on the starter’s minutes. That could be the case against Memphis here, though the line is currently only -6.5 road favorites here. Poole has seen massive usage with Stephen Curry out of the lineup and has taken an average of 20 shots a game over the last five. Not many players have this kind of green light and it makes his increased price points palatable. Derrick White FD -...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Chris Paul FD - $7900 DK - $8300Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 42.22 DK - 44.96 Devin Booker is going to be out for this game as well meaning we should see a full run of minutes for Chris Paul once again. The price has come up some on Paul in the short-term though it’s still not in range of what his opportunity is right now. He’s double-doubled in two of the last four games and the three-point shooting has started to round into shape as well. The overall usage can come and go, but this is still a good spot for the Point God. Jalen Brunson FD - $7500 DK - $7100Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 37.84 DK - 40.72 The Knicks were on a bit of a heater until they lost to the Raptors last game. But they walk into a good spot here against the Bulls who play an above-average pace on the season. Brunson has a very high minutes floor if the game breaks right, coming off running 39 minutes in that Toronto game. He’s taken 14 or more shots in each of the last six games and even though he struggled against the Raps, you have to like the usage and assist numbers at these prices. Bradley Beal FD - $8900 DK - $8000Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 40.82 DK - 43.99M This is a slightly tricky spot for Beal. On the one hand, he is in about as good a spot as you would hope, facing off against a Kings team that runs the fifth-fastest pace in the league with a bottom-third defensive efficiency. And there’s a world in which the Wiz are once again playing without Kristaps Porzingis. But Washington is also coming on the back-to-back here which might limit his minutes. I do think we are set to see a price increase on Beal in the short term with the minutes likely ticking up incrementally and this could be a buy-low spot. If Jamal Murray is out again then Bruce Brown (FD 5900 DK 5800) would be an excellent value play. Dorian Finney-Smith is out for...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Wednesday 12/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 12/21/22 This scheduling by the NBA this week is mind-boggling. We have 11 games today, two on Thursday, and then 14 on Friday. It would have been much nicer to see nine on each day, but the NBA has other motivations. In any case, it leaves us with a colossal card here and plenty to discuss. With that in mind, let's start with two of the most exciting point guards in the NBA. Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard LaMelo Ball FD - $8500 DK - $8900 Opponent - LAC Proj Pts FD - 45.27 DK - 48.25 Ball is always one of the top players in our projection system, mainly due to his pricing. We expect this stud to be a $10K player sooner rather than later, and it's hard to believe both sites have him below $9,000. LaMelo has scored at least 41 DraftKings points in five straight games and has season-highs in his last two outings. This superstar is finally getting back to full health, and it's scary to think how much usage he'll have with Terry Rozier out as well. The Clippers are usually a concerning matchup, but they own a 14th OPRK against opposing guards. As long as Ball gets the 20 shots and 35 percent usage rate we're anticipating, he's one of the best bets for a sub-$9K player to reach 50 fantasy points. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8600 DK - $8700 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 43.55 DK - 44.49 Fox is in the middle of a breakout year, and if it weren't for a few injuries, more people would realize it. The speedster has scored at least 30 DraftKings points in all but three games, with two of those being shortened due to an injury. He's also generating a 45-point average in those other 23 outings, doing that damage in just 33 minutes a night. His biggest asset here is a matchup with the Lakers, though. Not only does Los Angeles own a 26th OPRK against opposing PGs, but they also rank third in pace. That blistering pace is a massive advantage for the fastest player in the NBA, with De'Aaron dropping 64 DraftKings points in their...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Jalen Brunson FD - $7800 DK - $7200Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 39.48 DK - 42.27 The Knicks are on an upward trajectory here, having won their last seven games and moving into the East’s sixth spot. Part of that has been the play of Brunson who has 30 points in two of the last three games with minutes trending into the upper-30s. The Knicks had played a bunch of weird blowout games that had limited his run in recent weeks, but that doesn’t look like the plan for this team. Brunson is a value on both sites, but especially on DraftKings if this game stays close. Jordan Poole FD - $8300 DK - $8100Opponent - NYProj Pts FD - 39.79 DK - 44.33 Klay Thompson FD - $7300 DK - $6600Opponent - NYProj Pts FD - 35.11 DK - 38.93 When you lose Stephen Curry from your team, there is going to be a lot of usage to go around for everyone that remains. And that’s obviously the case with the Warriors here. With Curry off the court this season, Jordan Poole has led the way with a 34.6% usage rate, taking 20+ shots in each of the last three games. He dropped 43 against Toronto on Sunday and the price really hasn’t caught all the way up for how Golden State is using him now. Klay Thompson on the other hand actually has seen a usage decrease this year with Steph off the court, possibly a byproduct of teams being able to key in more on the other shooters when Curry isn’t around. But I still think the minutes' floor is high enough here with what GSW needs on offense and his price on DraftKings doesn’t reflect that he should run about 35 in a close game. Malik Beasley FD - $5300 DK - $5500Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 29.11 DK - 32.42 It looks like Mike Conley could sit today on the second half of the back-to-back with Utah playing Monday evening. Collin Sexton is also on the shelf and that could put Malik Beasley into the starting role at the two-guard....
