DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/27/19 This is our final Friday slate of the season and things get real weird as we reach the home stretch. These coaches are doing bizarre things with their rotations and lineups and it's making it very tough to make correct DFS picks. Hopefully, our picks here can weed out some of that uncertainty and lead to some success. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Mike Fiers FD 8300 DK 7900 Opponent - SEA (Justus Sheffield) Park - SEAFD - 29.67 DK - 14.86 Fiers is coming off one of the best starts of his career, throwing eight scoreless innings against the Rangers on Sunday. That extends a rather impressive stretch for Fiers, with the right-hander allowing three runs or fewer in 23 of his last 26 starts. He actually has a 3.15 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in that span and it's clear that he's having a resurgent season in the green and gold. Facing the Mariners is simply a bonus, with Seattle ranked 28th in K rate and bottom-10 in OBP and OPS since the opening month. Not to mention, Fiers and the A's enter this matchup as a -210 favorite. Vince Velasquez FD 7600 DK 6200 Opponent - MIA (Pablo Lopez) Park - MIAFD - 31.31 DK - 16.75 It's very difficult to trust a guy like Velasquez but this matchup is too good to pass up. The simple fact is, Miami ranks bottom-two in runs scored, OBP, OPS and xwOBA. Those horrific numbers limit the risk from a volatile pitcher like Velasquez, with the right-hander generating a 26 percent K rate. That strikeout stuff looks even better when you consider that he has a career xFIP barely eclipsing 4.00 and that should make him a decent bet against a lineup like this. That's why he and the Phillies enter this matchup as a -180 favorite, only adding the VV's intrigue. Catcher/First Base Eric Thames FD 3600 DK 5400 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COLFD - 13.94 DK - 10.46 While Thames suffered a minor hamstring injury on Thursday, there's some belief that he'll be ready for this series. That's big news for the big man, as he should have a ton of success in Coors Field. Not only is this the best hitting environment in the Majors, the Rockies also have one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. Chi Chi Gonzalez is a major part of that, pitching to a 5.68 ERA and 1.53...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/26/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/26/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Early Stephen Strasburg FD - P 10800 DK - SP 12200 Opponent - PHI (Jason Vargas) Park - WSH FD - 35.42 DK - 19.54 The options are limited today which makes paying up for the best pitcher the optimal route. This brings us to Stephen Strasburg on the early slate and while the Nats have locked up a playoff spot they are still trying to hold off the Brewers for the top Wildcard spot and home-field advantage in that one-game playoff. Strasburg has been terrific down the stretch posting a 1.80 ERA/2.84 xFIP over his last eight starts with a 32.4% K rate and 13.8% swinging-strike rate. He now faces a Phillies team that will miss the playoffs and have struggled down the stretch posting a .294 wOBA and 78 wRC+ over the last 14 days. Paying up for Strasburg is my top priority in all formats on the early slate. Also Consider: Luis Castillo(CIN) as a GPP pivot Main Zack Wheeler FD - P 10500 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - MIA (Jordan Yamamoto) Park - NYM FD - 34.6 DK - 18.25 The main is one game smaller but has more pitching options with my favorite being Zack Wheeler who checks every box. The Mets appear to be facing elimination from playoff contention as I write this but not due to the effort put forward by Wheeler who has averaged around 6.5 innings per start over his last five while allowing just one earned run in each. He now gets a plus matchup against the Marlins who he has had a ton of success against and have recorded a 78 wRC+ and 25% K rate against right-handed pitching this season. Fire up Wheeler in all formats. Also Consider: Aaron Civale(CLE) if you are looking to spend up more on your bats Catcher/First Base Early Howie Kendrick FD - 1B 2700 DK - 1B/2B 5200 Opponent - PHI (Jason Vargas) Park - WSH FD - 9.46 DK - 7.35 He has come off the bench in each of the last two games but should get back in the starting lineup today against a lefty. Over 122 plate appearances against southpaws this season, Kendrick has been elite hitting .372 with a .421 wOBA and 159 wRC+ and comes in with hits in six straight starts. The decision is a heck of a lot tougher on DraftKings where he is in the $5k...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 8/6/19 Baseball might be entering the dog days of August, but that doesn't mean we take a day off from the DFS grind. There's plenty to like about Tuesday evening's main slate of games. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!We have a ton of weather on this full 15-game slate and it's going to be key to check in on that before submitting lineups. Seven of the 15 games actually have rain forecasted and that'll make for yet another interesting slate. With that in mind, let's use three pitchers that we feel won't have any weather issues...PitchersZack Greinke FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - COL (German Marquez) Park - HOUFD - 35.66 DK - 19.15The Astros made the biggest splash at the deadline by acquiring Greinke and it's time for the fun to begin. This dude has been nails all season long, as is evidenced by his 2.90 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. That looks even more impressive when you consider his 135 Ks and it's scary to think that he gets to pitch for one of the best clubs in baseball. We always love to use pitchers against the Rockies on the road too, with Colorado sitting 23rd in K rate, 30th in road OBP and 29th in road OPS. Zack Wheeler FD - P 10700 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - MIA (Jordan Yamamoto) Park - NYMFD - 39.36 DK - 20.8It's always wise to use pitchers against the Marlins, particularly someone as talented as Wheeler. We're talking about a pitcher with a 3.50 xFIP and 26 percent K rate facing the worst lineup in baseball. In fact, Miami currently ranks bottom-three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, xwOBA, SLG and xSLG. That's really scary in a place like Citi Field, which ranks as one of the best pitching park in baseball. That's why Wheeler enters this matchup as a -200 favorite with Miami projected for only 3.5 runs. We also like Dinselson Lamet and his 29 percent K rate facing a Mariners team who ranks 28th in strikeouts per game. Catcher/First BaseJoey Votto FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B 4100 Opponent - LAA (Jose Suarez) Park - CINFD - 13.46 DK - 10.08Votto has really found his bat over the last two months and these sites just continue to disrespect him with these prices. Over his last 58 games, Votto is hitting .300 while accruing a .373 OBP and .835 OPS. The power is still lacking but it's...

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Report – 6/10/19

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Report - 6/10/19 Hello baseball fans and welcome to my new article series covering season-long baseball. To start, I will be looking at players who are widely available across fantasy leagues(60% or less owned). While the draft process is very important at the start of the season, being active on the waiver wire is the key to the six-month grind that is fantasy baseball. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Starting Pitchers Cal Quantrill(SP-SDP) 2% owned The Padres have the 11th best rotation ERA(4.08) in baseball and what makes that even more impressive is that the average age under 25. Looking at average ownerships(yahoo), Joey Lucchesi is still available in about 30-35% of leagues and even Eric Lauer who has pitched well as of late is available in about 70-75% of leagues. Chances are Lucchesi is already gone if you are playing at least a 10-man competitive league so let's go another direction and concentrate on deeper leagues. Cal Quantrill was the Padres first-round pick(8th overall) in 2016 and he has flown through the minors despite average stats. He has split time between AAA and San Diego this season and with the injury to Matt Strahm, he is getting more opportunity. Outside of one bad start vs. the Pirates, he has held opponents to three or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts and has an xFIP(4.01) close to a run lower than his ERA(4.85). That isn't the only regression number that pops either as he has an xwOBA(.326) lower than his wOBA(.356) and xSLG(.438) lower than his SLG(.515). He has also provided some upside lately with 16 strikeouts in his last two starts and is backed up by a 13.7% swinging strike rate. He will likely get sent back down at some point when Strahm returns but for now makes an excellent streamer, especially considering his next matchup could be against the Giants early next week. Pick up if: You need a streamer in your rotation or you playing in a dynasty/keeper league John Means(SP-BAL)41% owned If you have followed my DFS writings here at DFSR or spent time in chat, you have likely heard me talk about regression a ton with John Means. Well, I am giving in(somewhat). Since getting the full-time gig in the rotation at the end of April, he has gone at least five innings in all eight starts while holding opponents to one or fewer earned runs in five of them. The issue that pops up immediately...
