I am back for article one of three for me on the week and man did I luck out with pitching after a few of the slates over the weekend. Let's jump in and have a look at a few of my favorite plays at each position for the main slate on Tuesday. Pitchers Trevor Bauer FD - P 11000 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - LAD FD - 46.53 DK - 25.32 Bauer has been everything the Dodgers hoped for as he has been electric to start the season. He has struck out 10 in both starts and backed it up with a 14% swinging-strike rate and the best part is he hasn't been subject to the "Dodger pitch count" going 96 and 110 pitches and getting into the 7th inning in both starts. Tonight he faces the Rockies for a second time and I love the matchup as the Rockies are 25th overall with a 75 wRC+, a stat I love as it is park-adjusted. With Bieber facing a much more dangerous White Sox offense, Bauer is easily my top pitcher on this slate and a great play in all formats. Stephen Strasburg FD - P 10400 DK - SP 8400 Opponent - STL (Jack Flaherty) Park - STL FD - 36.82 DK - 19.95 This play is more of a price mismatch more than anything as he is the 3rd most expensive option on FanDuel but 6th on DraftKings. While that doesn't seem like much, getting a pitcher of Strasburg's talent in mid $8K range is highway robbery. He looked great in his first start, returning from a 2020 injury, going six innings allowing just one hit while striking out eight and walking just two. While the Nats are slight underdogs here, the Cards offense has actually been slightly below average to start the year with a .219 average, .299 wOBA, and 90 wRC+. Strasburg is my favorite SP2 on DraftKings tonight. Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B 5200 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - LAD FD - 13.6 DK - 10.02 The Dodgers are in a great spot tonight and sit atop the implied run rankings in our system. It is very tough to play more than one of them on DraftKings at their prices but on FanDuel there are a couple...

Pitchers Matt Shoemaker FD - P 7800 DK - SP 6900 Opponent - SEA (Chris Flexen) Park - MINFD - 35.43 DK - 18.22 Sunday has maybe the worst collective group of pitching on a larger slate that you’ll ever see. Almost all of the arms are mediocre at best and downright bad at worst. Shoemaker is a -175 home favorite against the Mariners which is about as good as you’ll find here. He had a solid first start of the season in his first outing, and last season struck out a little more than eight batters per nine. Again, on this slate that’s a good number. The Mariners are a weak-hitting squad throughout and get especially bad near the bottom of the lineup. We need to take what we are given here on Sunday and load up on bats against all of the bad arms. Trevor Williams FD - P 8000 DK - SP 8300 Opponent - PIT (JT Brubaker) Park - PITFD - 31.78 DK - 15.76 As I said, pitching is total garbage on this main slate of Sunday MLB action. It’s a total pit of bad arms and we are going to need to tread lightly. Williams had a solid first outing of the season, going six innings, striking out six, and walking two. He was able to tick up his strikeout rate last season to almost eight batters per nine, a better number than his career averages. And there’s some chance getting a new look with the Cubs will change some of his approach this season as well. He’s coming in as a -152 road favorite against the very weak Pittsburgh Pirates and that’s about as many superlatives as we can give any pitcher on this slate. Consider Dylan Cease (FD $6300 DK $7200) Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 3800 DK - 1B 5300 Opponent - MIL (Brett Anderson) Park - STLFD - 12.13 DK - 9.12 Goldschmidt hasn’t provided the returns the Cardinals wanted when they traded for him two years ago, that much is for sure. The power disappeared last season when he hit only six home runs. But this is still a guy with eye-popping career numbers against lefties. He’s put up a career OPS over 1.000 in that split with a crazy .424 wOBA. I still like him in this spot against the southpaw Brett Anderson and he is a...

Welcome back to another full day of baseball action and in this article, I will be looking at my top plays at each position for both the early and main slates. Let's get started. Pitchers Early Walker Buehler FD - P 9400 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - WSH (Joe Ross) Park - LAD FD - 38.5 DK - 22.4 We have a small three-game slate today with limited pitching options so I was a bit surprised to see Buehler in the sub $10K range. Sign me up! His first start came in Coors Field last Saturday and he was good, not great going six innings allowing just four hits but gave up two earned and while he only struck out four, he didn't walk anyone. I am not at all worried seeing as he is coming off four straight seasons recording a K rate of 27% or higher and has a career 3.39 xFIP. The matchup is a bit scary against the Nats but like I said in the beginning, the options are very limited. Main Zach Plesac FD - P 8600 DK - RP 9600 Opponent - DET (Julio Teheran) Park - CLE FD - 37.62 DK - 19.54 Like Buehler, Plesac was good, not great in his 2021 debut going six innings on just 84 pitches(58 strikes) giving up six hits and two earned runs but was only able to tally for strikeouts on a 5% swinging-strike rate. I am not concerned about the K's as he is coming off a season where he tallied a 14% swinging strike rate 28% K rate. He faces the Tigers for a second time in a week and although it appeared they may surprise some early on, they have now lost three of their last four scoring 15 runs, and have also struck out a collective 25 times over the past two games. Plesac is in play in all formats today. Catcher/First Base Early Max Muncy FD - 1B 3300 DK - 1B 4900 Opponent - WSH (Joe Ross) Park - LAD FD - 13.29 DK - 9.79 The Dodgers prices are very fair on this smaller slate, especially Muncy who is under $5K on DraftKings and in the low $3K range on FanDuel. With Bellinger expected to miss another game on Friday, Muncy is likely back in the cleanup spot and has been red-hot to start the year with...

We have a full day of action with all 30 teams in action but will be concentrating on the main slate which gets going at 1:10 pm ET today. Let's get started. Pitchers Trevor Bauer FD - P 11000 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - OAK (Jesus Luzardo) Park - OAK FD - 39.83 DK - 21.83 It's another great slate if you are into ace pitching and for me, it is clear who is #1 for fantasy today. He got a tough draw having to start the season on the road in Coors Field but was dominant early with four 3-up/3-down innings through six and the other two he only faced four batters. The Rockies got to him in the 7th but he ended up striking out 10 with a 15.6% swing strike rate and hitters swung at 34% of pitches outside the zone. He now gets a plus matchup vs. the A's who have scored just 12 runs in five games with an ugly .251 team wOBA. Lock Bauer into your SP1 spot and move on! Hyun-Jin Ryu FD - P 8200 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - TEX (Kyle Gibson) Park - TEX FD - 36.96 DK - 19.56 This one has to be a mistake in pricing and I am not just saying that as a Jays fan. He came over to the Jays before the 2020 season and was fantastic posting the 8th best ERA(2.69) among qualified pitchers a season removed from leading the entire majors in ERA(2.32) in his last season with the Dodgers. he isn't going to blow you away with power or provide slate-breaking upside but is extremely efficient and faces a Texas team who may be Top 10 in hitting overall to this point but continue to struggle vs. left-handed pitching and Ryu is a great one. He is a great play in all formats. Catcher/First Base Rhys Hoskins FD - 1B 3700 DK - 1B 4900 Opponent - NYM (David Peterson) Park - PHI FD - 12.28 DK - 9.03 Hard not to lead off with Hoskins at first, at least on Draftkings where he is under $5K. Hoskins has been red-hot to start the year as he entered Tuesday with a four-game hit streak including three doubles and while he got the night off, entered as a pinch hitter and extended that hit streak to...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Welcome back to another full day of baseball. We have a mix of early slates between the two sites so for this article, I will be looking at my top plays at each position for the main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Let's get started. Pitchers Tyler Glasnow FD - P 10700 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - BOS (Martin Perez) Park - BOS FD - 37.7 DK - 20.85 The main slate is not short of top pitching options as most teams' rotations are turning over for the first time. I will start with Tyler Glasnow who was dazzling on opening day going six innings, allowing just one hit, and striking six while walking zero batters. While this game doesn't have the lowest total(8.5) nor are the Rays the biggest favorites(-141) but Glasnow has big time K stuff(38% in 2020) and faces a Red Sox team who have only scored five runs through three games going into Monday with.205 team wOBA. There is an argument to go elsewhere on FanDuel where Glasnow is 2nd in salary but on DraftKings, he is my top pitcher in the low $9K range. Clayton Kershaw FD - P 9000 DK - SP 9500 Opponent - OAK (Chris Bassitt) Park - OAK FD - 36.62 DK - 19.88 Kershaw got a tough draw to start the season pitching in Coors and looked a bit rusty as well giving up 10 hits and five earned runs while striking out just two batters. I am not overlooking that opening day performance but I am not overly concerned as the price has not budged at all on either site and he faces an Athletics team that has struggled offensively scoring just nine runs in their first four games while striking out 26% of the time. I look for a big bounce-back game from Kershaw and he is in play for me in all formats. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 3000 DK - 1B/3B 4400 Opponent - TEX (Dane Dunning) Park - TEX FD - 12.09 DK - 9.17 Nate Lowe FD - 1B 3300 DK - 1B 3800 Opponent - TOR (Tanner Roark) Park - TEX FD - 10.21 DK - 7.72 At first base, I love turning to the Jays/Rangers game as we get two options in the mid-tier. Let's start with Vladdy Jr. who came into this season in *coughs* much better shape...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday All Day 4/3/21

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Joe Musgrove FD - P 8600 DK - SP 8600 Opponent - ARI (Caleb Smith) Park - SDFD - 37.07 DK - 19.98 Joe Musgrove makes his move to the Padres this season and has a chance to put together a very strong year. He’s coming off a shortened 2020 campaign that saw him dial up the strikeout rate well beyond anything he’d done in previous years. It will be interesting to see if it can maintain after he began mixing in the curveball much more than in past seasons. He comes in as a -192 home favorite against the Diamondbacks on Saturday and is in an excellent spot which is a little short on pitching aces. Musgrove isn’t in that category yet, but he could be primed for a breakout season if he can maintain the strikeout numbers. Mike Minor FD - P 8000 DK - SP 8400 Opponent - TEX (Kohei Arihara) Park - KCFD - 31.47 DK - 15.84 Mike Minor is one of the bigger money line favorites on the earlier slate of games at -160 against the Rangers. Texas doesn’t bring a whole lot of pop in the lineup and Minor should have plenty of chances to dial up some K’s here. He spiked his K rate in 2020 to 9.85 per nine, the best of his career, and was able to average more than five innings per start. The floor should be higher at these prices on both sites and, as I said before, it’s just an overall weaker day of pitching. Lance Lynn (FD $9800 DK $9200) is a solid option against the Angels on Saturday. The latter don’t strike out as a team all that much, but Lynn is coming off the best season of his career in 2020. Catcher/First Base Cody Bellinger FD - 1B 4700 DK - OF 5500 Opponent - COL (Jon Gray) Park - COLFD - 18.77 DK - 13.99 Max Muncy FD - 1B 4200 DK - 1B 5100 Opponent - COL (Jon Gray) Park - COLFD - 15.61 DK - 11.5 We are going to be stacking Coors again with the Dodgers for the evening slate of games. It’s been the plan for the first couple of days and there’s no reason...
