Pitchers Spencer Strider FD - P 11200 DK - RP 10900 Opponent - MIA (Edward Cabrera) Park - ATL FD - 43.94 DK - 24.98 Strider is one of the first pitchers to reach this elite tier of pricing and it's easy to see why. After an impressive rookie season, he has picked right up where he left off with a 2.45 ERA/3.08 xFIP over four starts while allowing just 12 hits across 22 innings pitched. Not only has he provided some safety in terms of going deep and limiting hits, but he has also provided elite upside with a league-leading 41% K rate. He and the Braves are -240 home favourites against a Marlins team that has been below-average overall(.309 wOBA/93 wRC+/23.6% K rate) and against right-handed pitching(.302 wOBA/89 wRC+/24.3% K rate). Strider is worth every penny and our top pitcher in all formats on Monday. Colin Rea FD - P 7200 DK - RP 7000 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - MIL FD - 30.6 DK - 16.11 The Brewers are set to give the ball to Rea for a third time this season as he acts as a stop-gap while the team deals with multiple injuries to their rotation. He has looked very solid in his first two starts allowing one earned run and striking out six Padres and looked much better than the numbers showed against Seattle thanks to one bad inning in the middle of the outing. The options are limited for value on this main slate so let's target this strong matchup against the Tigers who are bottom 3 in almost every hitting category including the second-worst K rate(26.1%) in the league. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 3900 DK 5700 Opponent - CHW (Lance Lynn) Park - CHW FD - 13.21 DK - 9.94 The Jays' offence has surprisingly only been league-average thus far but is definitely capable of big things with one of the deepest lineups in the league. They are second in implied runs on Monday and at a tougher position for fantasy, I am going to be paying up for Vlad Jr. who appears to be on another quest for the American League MVP(runner-up in 2021). He is coming off a series with the Yankees where he recorded hits in all three games including two home runs and moved his average up to .341 on the season with a...

Pitchers Jacob deGrom FD 10600 DK 10100 Opponent - KC (Jordan Lyles) Park - KC FD - 42.45 DK - 24.63 After struggling in his first start with his new team, deGrom bounced back in a big way and returned to elite status. He went six and seven innings allowing three earned runs but more importantly, has struck out 20 and walked just two in those starts with an insane 21% swinging strike rate. He now gets an elite matchup against the Royals' team that ranks 29th in wOBA(.273), 30th in wRC+(65), and 29th in strikeout rate(26%). Everything lines up for a dominant start and he is easily our top starting pitcher in all formats. Jack Flaherty FD 8300 DK 7800 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park - ARI FD - 29.24 DK - 15.44 It has been a very interesting start to the season for Flaherty after missing most of last year with an injury. Despite walking an incredible 13 batters over his first two starts, he was able to contain the damage and only allowed two earned runs combined. He now appears to have the control issues figured out as he went into Coors and struck out six while walking one, and allowed just one earned. The price goes up slightly but he also gets a plus home matchup against the Diamondbacks who are 24th in wOBA(.308)and 26th in wRC+(85) on the season. Flaherty is my favourite PTS/$ SP2 on this slate. Also Consider: Corbin Burnes(MIL) who bounced back in a big way his last start going 8 IP, allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out eight. Tougher matchup against a tough Mariners team but he is massively underpriced on DraftKings Catcher/First Base Nathaniel Lowe FD 3300 DK 4400 Opponent - KC (Jordan Lyles) Park - KC FD - 11.11 DK - 8.45 The position is loaded with elite, high-upside plays and Cron is likely the chalk at home in Coors but I am going with a more balanced approach to help me get to two top pitchers. Lowe may lack the overall upside of those priced above him but he has been very consistent to start the season and enters tonight with hits in 11 straight games including eight extra-base hits. He now gets a plus matchup against Jordan Lyles who has given up 16 hits and nine earned runs in his last two...

Pitchers Jordan Montgomery FD 9400 DK 8500 Opponent - PIT (Vince Velasquez) Park - PIT FD - 32.95 DK - 17.27 The main slate provides us an excellent path to a very balanced approach at starting pitching and it starts with Jordan Montgomery who checks all the boxes. After an average-at-best start to the season(5 IP, 3 ER, 3 K's), Monty bounced back in his last start in Milwaukee striking out nine Brewers over seven innings while allowing just three hits and no earned runs. He is now a huge -220 home favourite against a Pirates team that has started the season in the bottom half of hitting and will now be without O'Neill Cruz for the next 4-5 months. All things considered, Montgomery is my favourite pitcher on this slate. Chris Bassitt FD 7300 DK 8200 Opponent - DET (Spencer Turnbull) Park - DET FD - 33.91 DK - 17.79 We have another heavy favourite(-230) in Chris Bassitt who has had a very similar start to the season as Montgomery. After an atrocious start to his Bue Jays career against the Cardinals(9ER), he bounced back against an improved Angels team led by two future Hall of Famers striking out five and allowing just two hits. Even better news as he continues to trend up is the matchup against a Tigers team that sits dead last in wOBA and wRC+ and is striking out nearly 27% of the time. I love stacking Monty and Bassitt together on DraftKings and on FanDuel we are getting Bassitt at a huge discount and is easily our top PTS/$ option tonight. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 3900 DK 5700 Opponent - DET (Spencer Turnbull) Park - DET FD - 14.5 DK - 10.91 Paul Goldschmidt FD 3800 DK 5900 Opponent - PIT (Vince Velasquez) Park - PIT FD - 13.26 DK - 10 There isn't a whole lot going on at first base tonight which likely leads us to a decision between the two elite options in Vladdy and Goldy and in the end, it really comes down to the rest of your lineup. Both hitters have been red-hot to start the season with identical .491 on-base percentages and while they are both lacking power at the moment they have 19 RBI combined and both have crushed right-handed pitching to over a .445 wOBA. To top it off, both also get the best two...

Pitchers Drew Rasmussen FD 10200 DK 8100 Opponent - WSH (Trevor Williams) Park - WSH FD - 32.6 DK - 17.16 After spending most of his first two years in the league in the bullpen, the Rays fully transitioned him to a starter in 2022 and it paid off in a big way. He rewarded them with a very impressive 2.84 ERA/3.56 xFIP over 28 starts and while he does lack K upside(21.4%), he goes deep into games and finished the season going into the 6th in eight of his final nine starts. He got touched up in his first spring start but followed it up with two starts going a total of eight innings allowing just three hits and no earned runs. He now gets a strong matchup against a Nats team that scored three runs in their first two games and will most likely end up a bottom-three offence in 2023. Fire up Rasmussen in all formats. Hunter Brown FD 9100 DK 7400 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - DET FD - 14.85 DK - 8.2 Is it just me or is there has there been a heavy rollout of young up-and-coming stars earlier than ever this season? Today it's Hunter Brown who cracked the rotation out of spring training thanks to an unfortunate injury to Lance McCullers but nevertheless, it feels like Brown's time. He dominated AAA last year holding opponents to a .185 average, posting a 2.55 ERA, and best of all striking out 31.5% of batters he faced. He then got the callup in September and pitched 12 innings over two starts striking out 11 and finished the season(split starts/bullpen) with a .98 ERA/2.78 xFIP. Not only does he come cheap allowing us to load up on hitters, he also gets a plus matchup against a bottom-three Tigers' offence. I will be playing Brown in all formats. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 3700 DK 5700 Opponent - COL (Ryan Feltner) Park - COL FD - 14.1 DK - 10.7 The Dodgers are #1 in my team stack rankings on Monday and while they are expensive, we have a nice combination of value pitching to help us get there. Freeman is Top 3 in our projections tonight and is off to a solid start to the season with hits in three of four games including two multi-hit efforts. I am not at all worried about the...

Pitchers Spencer Strider FD 10800 DK 9700 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - WSH FD - 40.57 DK - 22.94 With Max Fried getting hurt on Opening Day, the Braves are going to be relying heavily on Spencer Strider to carry the rotation for the time being. Strider finished second behind his teammate Michael Harris in the 2022 Rookie of the Year voting after posting an elite 2.67 ERA and even better 2.30 xFIP which led all starting pitchers(min 100 IP). While he only has two pitches(Fastball, Slider) in his arsenal, they are elite and helped him to a league-leading 38% K rate and 15.5% swinging strike rate. He gets one of, if not the best matchups on the board Saturday against a Nationals team that is projected to be a bottom-three offence this season. Fire up Strider in all formats. Justin Steele FD 8600 DK 6000 Opponent - MIL (Brandon Woodruff) Park - MIL FD - 32.74 DK - 16.95 Following a rookie season in 2021 where he split time between the bullpen and rotation, Justin Steele broke into the rotation full-time and was one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball. Over 24 starts, he held opponents to two or fewer earned runs 18 times which led to an impressive 3.18 ERA/3.48 xFIP. While he posted just a slightly above-average K rate(24.6%), he had the 9th-best hard hit rate against(25.7%) and the 2nd-best barrel rate allowed(3.9%). He starts the year off in a good spot against a Brewers lineup that struck out 12 times on Opening Day and was a bottom-10 team against southpaws in 2022. Steele is my favourite value play at starting pitcher today. Also Consider: Patrick Sandoval(LAA) who is will be looking to build off his best season as a pro(2.91 ERA/3.67 xFIP) and looked good in his final spring training appearance(3 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 6 K) and was solid in the World Baseball Classic, especially in the semifinals against Japan(4.1 IP, 4 hits, 0 ER, 6 K) Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD 3700 DK 4700 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - WSH FD - 12.91 DK - 9.65 Olson had a monster spring training and it carried right over to Opening Day as he went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored in a 7-2 route of the Nats. His first year in Atlanta saw the average drop...

Pitchers Shane McClanahan FD 10400 DK 7700 Opponent - DET (Eduardo Rodriguez) Park - DETFD - 41.65 DK - 23.21 As with all MLB Opening Days, we have a bunch of aces taking the mound. That’s going to be the story when every team has the chance to put their best arms forward to start. Shane McClanahan is coming off a fantastic 2022 campaign that saw him strikeout 10.5 batter per nine while rocking a 2.60 xFIP. He’s about as efficient as it gets on the mound and even a late season shoulder issue didn’t slow him down all that much. The Rays -225 home favorites against the Tigers and McClanahan gets to go in one of the best pitchers parks around. Blake Snell FD 9500 DK 7900 Opponent - COL (Germán Márquez) Park - COLFD - 40.59 DK - 22.52 Blake Snell had an almost sneakily great 2022 season, sporting a 3.21 xFIP while striking out more than 12 batters per nine. The walks have always been a bit of an issue for the lefty, one of the reasons he only averaged 5.33 inning per start last season. But he can dial up the strikeouts with the best of them. For Opening Day, he’s coming in as a -208 home favorite against the weak-hitting Rockies who won’t do much outside of Coors Field this season. Snell is a fantastic value on both sites. Catcher/First Base Tyler Stephenson FD 2700 DK 3900 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - PITFD - 10.4 DK - 7.93 The Reds might have a rough season here, but they still play in one of the best hitters’ parks around and get a decent matchup against Mitch Keller to start things off. Tyler Stephenson should hit in the middle of the order after being in and out with injuries last season. When healthy, he was a mid-800s OPS guy though the Ks did climb some. He’s better against lefties for his career, but has been fine against righties and the pricing on both sites doesn’t make it all that tough to fit into lineups. And at catcher on DraftKings he makes for a particularly good value. Triston Casas FD 2700 DK 2900 Opponent - BAL (Kyle Gibson) Park - BALFD - 9.69 DK - 7.28 We’ll get into some more expensive hitters here shortly but if looking for a cheaper option to save on...
