Pitchers Max Scherzer FD 11500 DK 10600 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH FD - 44.82 DK - 25.51 Since returning from injury in early July, Max has been back to his dominant self allowing just five earned runs over his last five starts(1.39 ERA) while adding 45 strikeouts(36% K rate) and just four walks. The dominance should continue as he faces his old team who, outside of the Pirates and maybe the Tigers, has been the worst offence in baseball, especially in the second half. They may not K a lot but also could be without their top hitter in Juan Soto who could be traded as early as today. The price is where it should be on FanDuel but considering we have seen multiple pitchers reach $11K on DraftKings this season, Max is actually coming a bit too cheap here. He is easily our top pitcher in all formats tonight. Michael Kopech FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent - KC (Brad Keller) Park - KC FD - 26.25 DK - 13.91 To say this isn't the season we expected from Kopech would be an understatement. The biggest issue has been the command of the strike zone which has both lowered the swing and misses while elevating the walk rate. It isn't all doom and gloom, however, as he comes into tonight having held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three straight and has reached a near season-low price on both sites. On top of that, he faces a Royals' team that ranks bottom 10 offensively and have dropped five of their last six games. All things considered, Kopech is my top SP2 on DraftKings which allows us to spend up for some bats in terrific spots. Lock and load in all formats. Catcher/First Base Anthony Rizzo FD 3700 DK 4500 Opponent - SEA (Marco Gonzales) Park - SEA FD - 12.03 DK - 9.05 The Mets and Yankees lead all teams in projected scoring tonight and we will start with the latter who are surprisingly more affordable to stack, at least the top of the order. I turn to Rizzo first and don't get discouraged by the lefty/lefty matchup as he is excellent in the split with a .360 wOBA/137 wRC+ on the season and better yet, comes in red-hot with home runs in back-to-back games with multiple hits in three of his last five. It...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 7/30/22(Main Slate)

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Framber Valdez FD 10400 DK 9700 Opponent - SEA (Chris Flexen) Park - SEA FD - 37.05 DK - 19.27 We have a big decision to make at the top on this main slate with a couple of lefties who are both big favourites. With Kershaw taking the mound in Coors, I slightly lean Valdez in a home matchup against the Mariners who have had no answer for Astros pitching in the first two games of the series scoring a combined three runs. Consistency has been the name of the game for Valdez who has held opponents to three or fewer earned runs in 18 of 19 starts and two or fewer in 13 of those starts. All things considered, Valdez is our top pitcher on this slate. Ranger Suárez FD 8400 DK 7600 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - PIT FD - 29.55 DK - 14.54 Much like last night, we are going to be looking for some value at the SP2 spot to try and fit the Dodgers' bats in Coors or one of the other top/expensive offensive teams(ATL, HOU, STL). What draws me to Suarez is the fact he is a -160 favourite and cheaper than the opposing pitcher(Mitch Keller) who has worse numbers overall. Suarez may lack GPP winning upside with a 19% K rate but he has made up for it with consistency posting a 2.98 ERA/3.52 xFIP over his last eight starts. He also faces a Pirates team that has lost six of seven games out of the break and are a bottom-five team against left-handed pitching. I will have exposure to Suarez in all formats. Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD 3800 DK 5500 Opponent - ARI (Corbin Martin) Park - ARI FD - 13.66 DK - 10.17 First base is loaded at the top and I wouldn't fault anyone for loading up on Goldy or Freeman but I am going to take the discount and ride with Olson who is in an equally good matchup. We are never rostering Olson because of his consistency(.250 average) but rather because of his fantasy production in the middle of the loaded Braves lineup. While he has yet to record a multi-hit effort in the second half, he does have two doubles, three home runs, and six RBI. He now faces Corbin Martin who has been running a slippery slop walking nine batters in his last...

Huge win odds and a game in Coors highlight DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 7/29/22

Aces with huge win odds, Coors game in DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 7/29/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD 11000 DK 10400 Opponent - KC (Kris Bubic) Park - KCFD - 47.17 DK - 26.79 We have two of the biggest money line favorites you’ll ever see taking the mound on Friday and we are going to want to prioritize them for cash games. The first is Cole who is a -367 favorite against the Royals at home. It’s easy to see why. He’s having another excellent season with a 2.78 xFIP, 11.5 Ks per nine, and a 4.8:1 K:BB ratio. The Royals rank 24th in team wOBA on the season and just generally stink. Even with a game in Coors that has expensive bats, we are going to want to prioritize Cole here. Alek Manoah FD 10200 DK 9400 Opponent - DET (Bryan Garcia) Park - DETFD - 45.28 DK - 24.08 Manoah is cheaper than Cole and in just as good a spot against Detroit. He’s a whopping -396 home favorite, again one of the higher numbers you’ll ever see in that respect. The Tigers rank second-to-last in team offense this season and strike out nearly 24% of the time. Manoah’s peripherals aren’t as good as Cole but he’s still shown very good control on the season. The matchup is just too good to pass up and I like pairing them together on DK. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 4400 DK 5800 Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COLFD - 17.1 DK - 12.88 Will Smith FD 3400 DK 5000 Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COLFD - 14.81 DK - 11.01 It’s going to be tough to fit the higher-priced arms in with some of the bats in the best spots. That’s jus the way this slate is shaping up. But when you have a team with an implied run line over 7.0 it’s time to really start prioritizing them in cash games. That’s the case with the Dodgers playing again in Coors on Friday. They put up 13 runs on Thursday evening and could be in line for a ton today as well. Freeman and Smith are expensive here, and with good reason. They should hit three-four in the order respectively against Kuhl and have plenty of power upside. Smith is a bit cheaper on FanDuel which really helps with some of the salary concerns. Plus Jake Lamb (FD $2600 DK $2100)...

Pitchers Zack Wheeler FD 10700 DK 10200 Opponent - PIT (Zach Thompson) Park - PIT FD - 36.01 DK - 19.34 Wheeler looked sharp coming out of the break giving up just three hits and one earned run with six strikeouts and no walks over seven innings. It was a continuation of the consistency he showed us in the first half and has now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 12 of his last 14 starts. The price tag has nearly reached another season-high but what makes it worth it is the uptick in strikeouts over the last two seasons thanks to a fastball that is generating an elite 14.4% swinging strike rate. Capping it off is a matchup against a Pirates team that has come out flat in the second half losing four of five games while scoring just 11 runs. Lock Wheeler in as the top target on the mound tonight. Shohei Ohtani FD 11100 DK 8900 Opponent - TEX (Spencer Howard) Park - TEX FD - 43.11 DK - 23.7 This one is pretty easy at the SP2 position on DraftKings with Ohtani sitting under $9K as a -222 home favourite tonight. The system also has him sitting atop the projections tonight and it makes sense as the floor is ridiculously high. This was on full display in his first start out of the break as the Braves got to him for six earned runs but he still managed to tally 20 DK points thanks to 11 strikeouts. It was the fifth start in a row he has tallied double-digit K's and the seventh straight start tallying 20 or more DK points(32.4 average). He now faces a Rangers team that has lost five of their last six and are much worse against right-handed pitching(92 wRC+ vs 115 against LH). All things considered, Ohtani is our top overall pitcher on DraftKings and an excellent pairing with Wheeler on this slate. Catcher/First Base Jared Walsh FD 2600 DK 2900 Opponent - TEX (Spencer Howard) Park - TEX FD - 11.59 DK - 8.73 Finding value with the bats is going to be key on this slate with the pitchers I listed above combined with the fact the top three teams are all very expensive to stack. Enter Jared Walsh who has moved up the order with no Trout and it has been red-hot to start the second...

A Cy Young Candidate and Cheap Bats Highlight DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 7/26/22

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shane McClanahan FD 11600 DK 10300 Opponent - BAL (Spenser Watkins) Park - BALFD - 41.98 DK - 23.4 McClanahan is having one of the best pitching seasons we’ve seen in a while and it’s remarkable that it’s coming in just his second full season in the majors. He’s rocking an unreal 1.71 ERA with the 2.00 ERA not far behind. That’s thanks to a 11.95 K/9 rate and a 7.7:1 K:BB ratio. He comes in as a -200 road favorite against the Orioles and is clearly the best cash game option on the slate. The way he’s going, the dude is just making his case for one of the best arms in all of baseball right now. José Berríos FD 8900 DK 7900 Opponent - STL (Andre Pallante) Park - STLFD - 36.42 DK - 19.45 Berrios had a rough start to the season but has begun to turn it around of late and we might be grabbing him at a value right now. Sure, the 5.23 ERA can make you worried, but over his last three starts he’s gone at least six innings in each, striking out 26 and walking just two. It sure looks like things are on the up and up for this guy and we are getting him at a bargain because of the troubles earlier in the season. He’s a -231 favorite thanks in part to a bunch of key Cardinals bats not making the trip to Toronto. Catcher/First Base Alejandro Kirk FD 3300 DK 4900 Opponent - STL (Andre Pallante) Park - STLFD - 12.59 DK - 9.55 Though there’s a game in Coors, a couple of teams on this slate have higher run lines than anything we are getting in the Mile High air. One of them is the Blue Jays who come in as big favorites against a skeleton crew of Cardinals players. Kirk is having an excellent season, walking (10.7%) more than he’s striking out (9.1%) with an .893 OPS and 11 home runs. He makes for a solid cash game option because of the patience and does have some power upside. Darin Ruf FD 2600 DK 3200 Opponent - ARI (Tyler Gilbert) Park - ARIFD - 12.08 DK - 9.07 Because of the extreme platoon splits, he’s still a candidate to get pinch hit for later in games, but he’s raked...

Pitchers Tony Gonsolin FD 10200 DK 10200 Opponent - WSH (Paolo Espino) Park - WSH FD - 38.94 DK - 20.26 Max Fried FD 10500 DK 10500 Opponent - PHI (Ranger Suárez) Park - PHI FD - 34.91 DK - 18.98 We have some tough decisions to make on the mound as we get multiple options for who we could easily make a case for and against. There is a path to paying up for both on DraftKings so I will group these first-time All-Stars together here. Let's start with Gonsolin who enters the second half with the third most wins(11) and fourth-best ERA(2.02) in baseball. Outside of that final start in St. Louis(5 ER against) he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in the other 16 starts while striking out 24% of batters. The Dodgers are usually a team we caution when using starters as the pitch count never gets too high but that efficiency has allowed Gonsolin to average almost six innings per start since the start of May. For Fried, his numbers are very similar as he enters the second half with a 2.64 ERA/3.15 xFIP and 23% K rate. Gonsolin gets the nod in terms of the matchup as he faces a Washington team that is well on their way to a rebuild and despite not striking out much, rank bottom four in wOBA, wRC+, and ISO over the last month. Fried faces a much better Phillies offence overall but they haven't been the same without Bryce Harper who remains out with a thumb injury. I am likely going to play both together with an abundance of value bats that we are routinely getting but if I had to choose just one, I am taking Gonsolin as my top arm. Sean Manaea FD 9900 DK 8800 Opponent - DET (Drew Hutchison) Park - DET FD - 35.73 DK - 19.31 While I prefer to take the safe route with the two above options, the system is on board with taking some savings at SP2 and upgrading the bats. Enter Manaea who may not be the model of consistency(4.11 ERA/3.93 xFIP) but is still priced below $9K on DraftKings in a very good matchup. He faces a Tigers team that ranks dead last in almost every offensive category and have struck out at a 26% rate since the All-Star break. Despite the risk(every pitcher has...
