DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 5/24/19 Friday in baseball brings us a nearly-full slate of evening games for FanDuel and DraftKings. Let's go position by position and look at the cash game DFS plays. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! The good news is that we only have two games with questionable forecasts. Those are the MIL-PHI and NYY-KC matchups. That's all we can ask for from a DFS perspective and the MIL game is the only worrisome one out there. With that in mind, we'll fade that Milwaukee game and focus on the other 13 fixtures. PitchersRobbie Ray FD - P 8700 DK - SP 10900 Opponent - SF (Drew Pomeranz) Park - SFFD - 37.07 DK - 20.09While this DraftKings price is a bit much, it's hard to overlook Ray on FanDuel in a matchup like this. While his 1.35 WHIP is a bit ugly, that's something we don't really need to worry about here. The reason for that is because he gets to face the Giants in the best pitching park in the Majors. In fact, San Francisco currently ranks 28th in runs scored and 29th in wOBA. They also sit 16th in K rate, which is huge for a strikeout machine like Ray. Not only does he own a 29.5 percent K rate this season, Ray actually has a 28 percent K rate for his career. That's simply one of the best marks in the majors and he should absolutely cruise through a weak lineup like this with the Giants projected for fewer than four runs. Jose Berrios FD - P 9900 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - CHW (Reynaldo Lopez) Park - MINFD - 37.11 DK - 20.09Berrios has developed into one of the best pitchers in the majors and he should succeed in a matchup like this. So far this season, Berrios is sitting with a 3.39 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while posting a 60:11 K:BB rate. Those are simply some of the best numbers in the league and it's why Berrios enters this game as a -225 favorite. Getting to face the White Sox should only boost those numbers, with Chicago sitting 20th in wOBA, 21st in runs scored and 25th in K rate.  Noah Syndergaard (FD $10600 DK $10100)makes for an interesting cash game consideration as well against a righty-heavy and light-hitting Tigers' team. Catcher/First BaseSteve Pearce FD - 1B 2300 DK - 1B/OF 3000 Opponent...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 5/23/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 5/23/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Stephen Strasburg FD - P 11000 DK - SP 11100 Opponent - NYM (Steven Matz) Park - NYM FD - 39.81 DK - 21.93 We have another wacky Thursday of baseball action with a six-game slate starting at 12:10 ET. Despite the smaller slate, pitching is not that bad and it starts with Strasburg who has been close to dominant since his rocky start to the season where he allowed 4+ earned runs in three of his first four starts. In six starts since then, he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five starts(2.13 ERA) while striking out 59(34.2%) and walking just nine(5.7%). Today, he gets a matchup vs. a Mets team that does sit mid-pack in many offensive categories but have been worse against righties(.308 wOBA, 97 wRC+, .152 ISO, 24% K rate) and have struck out as a team 26% of the time over the last week. All things considered, Stras is my top pitcher in all formats. Masahiro Tanaka FD - P 9800 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - BAL (Dylan Bundy) Park - BAL FD - 36.47 DK - 19.88 If you are looking for an upgrade on your bats in cash games, Tanaka makes a ton of sense today as well. He is sub $10K on both sites and while he has given up five earned runs twice, he has been very consistent giving up just 10 combined in his other eight starts for a 3.09 ERA/3.79 xFIP. He doesn't have the same upside as Strasburg striking out just 22.7% of batters but gets the better matchup against an Orioles team sits with a .308 wOBA, 84 wRC+, and .164 ISO against right-handed pitching. There is a strong chance I run both Stras and Tanaka on DraftKings as there should be enough value with six games and on FanDuel, he is in play in all formats if you want to upgrade your bats. Catcher/First Base Josh Bell FD - 1B 4400 DK - 1B 5800 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - PIT FD - 10.53 DK - 7.99 Bell is easily one of the top pay up options tonight at any position. He is on an absolute torrid pace and has at least thrown his name into the conversation for NL MVP. He went into Wednesday night hitting .325 with an elite .396 on-base percentage with 14 doubles, 14 home runs, and a...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 5/22/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 5/22/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD - P 11700 DK - SP 12000 Opponent - CHW (Ivan Nova) Park - HOU FD - 47.28 DK - 26.53 There is some excellent pitching on the main slate tonight including round two between Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom. I have no issue with either of them tonight but for cash games, I am most definitely leaning Gerrit Cole. He has one outlier game where he allowed eight earned runs which has hurt his ERA(3.56) but not to worry as he leads all pitchers on this slate with a 2.34 xFIP, 38.3% K rate, and 16% swinging strike rate. I also love to see that his xwOBA(.261) and xSLG(.333) given up are both lower than his wOBA(.275) and SLG(.374). The matchup is the other piece of the puzzle tonight as the White Sox sit in the bottom third of the league in almost all offensive categories and strike out 26% of the time vs. right-handed pitching. Cole is my top in all formats tonight. Max Fried FD - P 9000 DK - SP 8500 Opponent - SF (Jeff Samardzija) Park - SF FD - 35.9 DK - 18.6 Fried split last season between Triple-A and the big leagues and with Atlanta, he only made five starts with nine relief appearances. He is finally getting his shot in the rotation in 2019 and making the most of it as he has posted a very impressive 2.96 ERA/3.16 xFIP over nine starts and while the K rate is just average(23%), he stays out of trouble with a very low 4.6% walk rate. Tonight, he gets a positive park shift and matchup going into San Francisco to face a Giants team that is bottom five in runs scored this season and really struggle against lefties with a .265 wOBA, 65 wRC+, and 25% K rate. All things considered, Fried is my top SP2 on DraftKings and I would also consider him in all formats on FanDuel allowing you to upgrade your bats. Also Consider: Jon Gray (COL) who gets a boost away from Coors Field and has an xFIP(3.68) over a run lower than his ERA(4.73) Listen to "Best DFS MLB Plays for FanDuel and DraftKings - Wednesday 5/22/19" on Spreaker. Catcher/First Base Gary Sanchez FD - C 4400 DK - C 5500 Opponent - BAL (Dan Straily) Park - BAL FD - 13.96 DK - 10.45 Luke Voit FD - 1B...

FanDuel and DraftKings MLB Picks for Tuesday, 5/21

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 5/21/19 Tuesday's MLB action brings us a mostly-full slate of baseball action for FanDuel and DraftKings. There are some ace arms, some hitters' parks and much more to break down. Let's take a look at the slate. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!While writing this, the only background noise I can hear is the rain hitting the roof. That reminds me that we need to discuss the weather for this slate but there luckily won't be a game played here in Denver. There's actually only one worrisome forecast on this slate, as St. Louis has some nasty rain headed their way. That means you must monitor that forecast before submitting lineups, as we do have one recommendation from that fixture. PitchersJustin Verlander FD - P 12000 DK - SP 11300 Opponent - CHW (Dylan Covey) Park - HOUFD - 45.42 DK - 25.58Verlander is the highest priced pitcher on the board and it's easy to understand why. We're talking about a hall-of-fame pitcher in the midst of another magical year, with Verlander posting a 7-0 record, 2.38 ERA and 0.79 WHIP so far this season. That doesn't even consider his ridiculous 77:16 K:BB rate, as he's easily the most dangerous pitcher in the league right now. Getting to face Chicago should only help these stout numbers, with the White Sox ranking 21st in K rate, 18th in wOBA and 19th in runs scored. That's why Verlander enters this matchup as a -350 favorite, which is one of the largest spreads of the season. German Marquez FD - P 8200 DK - SP 9200 Opponent - PIT (Chris Archer) Park - PITFD - 33.42 DK - 17.66I rarely use Marquez because I simply don't use Rockies pitchers but it's a different story on the road. Dating back to last season, Marquez owns a 2.80 ERA and 0.91 WHIP on the road while striking out more than a batter per inning. Those are simply elite numbers and it's really no surprise when you consider the fact that he has to pitch half of his games in Coors Field. Getting to throw at PNC Park here should only help, as that ranks as one of the best pitching parks in the majors. Pittsburgh is not a lineup we need to fear either, with the Pirates ranking 23rd in both wOBA and OBP while sitting 28th in runs scored.   Julio Teheran (FD $8400 DK $8500) is very inconsistent but facing the Giants in Oracle Park should be beneficial...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 5/20/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 5/20/19 Some of you spend Sunday evening getting your Game of Thrones on. Around here, we made sure you were set with value plays for FanDuel and DraftKings MLB contests. Priorities baby! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Patrick Corbin FD - P 10800 DK - SP 10900 Opponent - NYM (Drew Gagnon) Park - NYMFD - 34.68 DK - 18.84 The Nationals are struggling this season, but it’s tough to blame Corbin who’s performed well since coming over in the offseason as a free agent. He’s striking batters out at a 30% clip (10.6 K/9) with an 3.56 xFIP only about a half run higher than the 2.91 ERA. On Monday, he’ll face the Mets who are striking out about 29% of the time against lefties this season. They rank around middle of the pack in terms of wOBA in that split, but this still lines up as a plus matchup for the lefty. There’s no early line on this game, but I’d expect Corbin to open at something like a -170 road favorite against the lowly Mets and Wilmer Font. Luke Weaver FD - P 9600 DK - SP 8500 Opponent - SD (Chris Paddack) Park - SDFD - 34.22 DK - 18.1 Weaver struggled to maintain his rookie season numbers last year with the Cardinals, spiking a 4.46 XFIP with the K’s dipping below eight per nine. But he’s bounced back this season after coming to the Diamondbacks in the Paul Goldschmidt trade. Weaver is back up to a 26% strikeout rate and the walks are under 6%, good for a 4.5:1 K:BB ratio. These are all such positive signs for the young arm. He gets to take on the Padres in a great pitchers park in San Diego against a team that ranks 25th against righties and strikes out 25% of the time. He’s an underdog in this matchup (+125) but he’s also coming a bit cheaper than Chris Paddock who he’s facing. J.A. Happ FD - P 8300 DK - SP 8000 Opponent - BAL (Andrew Cashner) Park - BALFD - 31.22 DK - 16.52 Happ’s been inconsistent to start the season, posting a dramatically lower K rate than he had in Toronto. While the walks remain relatively in check, the K rate has dipped below the 20% mark, to 18.5% the lowest of his career. He’ll get a chance to make some strides in that category on Monday against a Baltimore team that strikes...

FanDuel and DraftKings MLB Picks for Sunday, 5/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday 5/19/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Sunday slates are always my favorite because we get almost every team in baseball playing within a three-hour span. It's baseball's equivalent to the Red Zone Channel and that's a beautiful sight for any baseball fan. In terms of weather, we don't have a whole lot to worry about on this slate. With that said, Cincinnati, Chicago and Washington are some games we need to keep an eye on, as they have questionable forecasts.  Pitchers Noah Syndergaard FD - P 10400 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - MIAFD - 41.06 DK - 22.42 There's a lot to like here about Syndergaard and he's probably the highest-upside pitcher on this slate. While he struggled early on, the fact that he owns a 2.35 ERA and 0.87 WHIP over his last three starts shows the sort of potential he has. We're talking about a guy with a K rate approaching 30 percent too and it's no doubt that Thor is one of the most dangerous arms in the Majors. That makes him worth using against anyone but facing the Marlins is an absolute treat. In fact, Miami currently sits last in wOBA, xWOBA, xSLG, OPS and runs scored.  Joe Musgrove FD - P 7500 DK - SP 6400 Opponent - SD (Cal Quantrill) Park - SDFD - 30.79 DK - 15.98 Musgrove allowed 13 combined runs in his last two starts before a seven-inning shutout earlier in the week but those poor outings lowered his price to this tempting number. Outside of those two starts, Musgrove has been stellar, posting an ERA south of 1.50 and a minuscule WHIP of 0.80. That's obviously ridiculous and it has to make one wonder why he's so cheap. Getting to face San Diego is not something we need to worry about either, with the Padres ranking 27th in K rate, 29th in OBP and 26th in xwOBA.  Shane Bieber pops up very highly in our projections against a Baltimore offense who ranks 29th in xwOBA.  Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B/2B 4900 Opponent - CIN (Tanner Roark) Park - CINFD - 14.41 DK - 10.73 While this DraftKings price is definitely appropriate, this FanDuel price is hard to understand. We're talking about a guy who has an ISO approaching .300 and an xwOBA just shy of .400 since the start of last season. He comes into this matchup hot...
