In fact, we have just one Sunday remaining in the year but it is the dreaded final day of the regular season. Things should remain relatively normal for this one though and that's all we can ask for as DFS players. With that in mind, let's get to our favorite pitchers of the slate. Pitchers Carlos Carrasco FD - P 9900 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - DET FD - 40.72 DK - 22.4 A 2-4 record doesn't necessarily look very good but a 3.27 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 rate is pretty much what we expect from Cookie Carrasco. He's actually been even better over recent years, amassing a 3.43 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 30 percent K rate since 2015. The best part about using him today is this matchup though, facing a Detroit team who owns the worst K rate in the Majors while sitting 25th in OBP and 23rd in runs scored. That's why he and the Indians enter this matchup as a -200 favorite, with the Tigers projected for less than four runs. Jose Urquidy FD - P 6500 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - HOU FD - 23.71 DK - 12.36 This is honestly some of the worst pricing I've seen all season. I expected to see Uequidy in the $8,000s on both sites but he remains way too cheap. I say that because he has a 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in three starts this season. That stellar form carries over from last year too, with Urquidy allowing one run or fewer in six of his final seven starts last season. All of that doesn't even take into consideration this superb matchup, facing a Diamondbacks club that ranks 28th in both runs scored and OBP while sitting 29th in wOBA. It has Urquidy and the Astros entering this matchup as a -210 favorite. We also think Max Scherzer could roll over Miami in Marlins Park, and he's an obvious big money option as usual. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 5600 Opponent - NYM (Rick Porcello) Park - NYM FD - 13.03 DK - 9.79 Freeman is the hottest player in baseball and he's going to remain in these articles until he cools off. Over the last 14 games, FF has...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 9/19/20

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 9/19/20 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Friday's slate was full of big production and it was a solid day here at DFSR. Things are going to get tougher and tougher as the season finishes though and it should make for some fascinating slates. With that in mind, let's go ahead and get into it! Pitchers Andrew Heaney FD - P 8500 DK - SP 8300 Opponent - TEX (Lance Lynn) Park - LAA FD - 35.87 DK - 19.81 This price really surprised me. Heaney was my first inclination before I even opened up DraftKings and I figured he'd be about $10,000. I was obviously ecstatic to see that he was sitting around $8,500 on both sites, in the best matchup possible. We'll start with that opposition, with the Rangers sitting 29th in both wOBA and OBP while scoring the fewest runs in the league. That's brilliant news for a guy like Heaney, who's got a 2.36 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 rate over his last four starts. Charlie Morton FD - P 7600 DK - SP 7400 Opponent - BAL (Jorge López) Park - BAL FD - 37.28 DK - 20.49 It's strange to see Morton priced so cheaply. The reason for that is because he just came off the IL and has been seeing limited pitch counts since then. The good news for us is that he's approaching a full workload, throwing 77 pitches in his last start against Boston. That means we could be looking at somewhere between 80-90 pitches here which is all we can hope for from a guy this talented. We're talking about a dude who posted a 3.05 ERA and 1.06 WHIP last season, striking out 240 batters across 194.2 innings of action. That's fantastic news when you consider that Baltimore has lost nine of their last 11 games, scoring one run or fewer in seven of those. That has Tampa enters this matchup as a -185 favorite. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4000 DK - 1B 5700 Opponent - NYM (David Peterson) Park - NYM FD - 12.84 DK - 9.65 This guy is absolutely ridiculous right now. Over his last 27 games played, Freeman has a .420 OBP, .532 OBP, .780 SLG and 1.312 OPS. That doesn't even take into consideration his three hits and two doubles on Friday, making him the hottest hitter in baseball. Its certainly not a matchup we're concerned with either, with Peterson amassing...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/18/20

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/18/20 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! It sounds crazy to say but we only have one Friday slate after this. We all knew this season would fly by but this has been a 40-yard sprint to the finish line. The good news is that most teams are still alive and that shouldn't cause anything too wacky yet. Next week might get nuts in terms of lineups and pitchers but everything should be normal for now. With that in mind, let's go ahead and get into it! Pitchers Zack Greinke FD - P 9500 DK - SP 10100 Opponent - ARI (Zac Gallen) Park - HOU FD - 36.5 DK - 19.19 I'm not so sure if this is more about Greinke or the Diamondbacks. We'll go ahead and start with that matchup, facing an Arizona club that ranks 27th in runs scored, 29th in OBP and 28th in wOBA. What's scary is that they've been even worse over the last month, making them the worst offense around. That's fantastic news for Greinke, who's got a 3.10 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over the last decade. His 1.06 WHIP this season is a good indicator that he hasn't lost a step and the -175 money line and 7.5-run total are even more encouraging signs. Chris Paddack FD - P 8200 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - SEA (Yusei Kikuchi) Park - SEA FD - 38.18 DK - 21.02 Paddack has been a slight disappointment for the Padres this season but this is a great spot for him to succeed. We're still talking about a pitcher who has a 3.69 ERA and 1.04 WHIP for his career, matching that with a 27 percent K rate. All of that makes him very enticing against a team like the Mariners, who rank 23rd in runs scored, 22nd in OBP and 25th in K rate. We also don't hate the fact that he's a -180 favorite in one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks in baseball. If you're feeling risky, you can ride Carlos Martinez against a Pirates offense who's equally as bad as the Diamondbacks. Catcher/First Base Luke Voit FD - 1B 4300 DK - 1B 5300 Opponent - BOS (Martin Pérez) Park - BOS FD - 13.14 DK - 9.86 Anytime the Yankees face a left-hander, they're the best stack of the day. In fact, if I were a lefty facing this lineup, I'd probably complain about my elbow during warm-up. Anyway, one of the...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/17/20

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/17/20 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!   Pitchers Shane Bieber FD - P 11900 DK - SP 10900 Opponent - DET (Casey Mize) Park - DET FD - 45.82 DK - 25.64 Pitching is pretty straight forward tonight and it starts with odds on favorite to win the Cy Young, Shane Bieber. It has been incredible what he has been doing in 2020 as he not only leads the entire league in ERA(1.53) and xFIP(1.95) but also leads all pitchers with an insane 41.3% K rate. He now gets an elite matchup vs. the Tigers who rank bottom 10 in almost all offensive categories including strikeouts as they K 27% of the time overall and 28% against right-handed pitching. Fire up Bieber in all formats. Dakota Hudson FD - P 8700 DK - RP 8200 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - PIT FD - 29.54 DK - 14.07 While Hudson doesn't provide elite upside in terms of strikeouts(21.7% K rate), he has been very solid in his second season a starter. Through seven starts, he has gone 3-2 while holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts. Another positive here is the growth throughout the season as he failed to make it through five innings in his first three starts but has averaged six innings per start over his last four. The icing on the cake here is the matchup against the Pirates who sit dead last in runs-scoring(3.6 per game), wOBA(.276), and second to last in wRC+(71). Like I mentioned yesterday, I like to keep my SP's combined salary under $20K and pairing Hudson and Bieber accomplishes this tonight. Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 3700 DK - 1B 4600 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - PIT FD - 13.62 DK - 10.23 The decision at the top is very close on DraftKings as Luke Voit has put the Yankees on his back but the slight discount can make all the difference in the world tonight if we are paying up for two pitchers. Goldy has once again been the face of consistency as he entered Wednesday hitting .314 with an elite .412 wOBA and 162 wRC+ and hitting lefty pitching has been his bread and butter tallying a .420 wOBA and 164 wRC+ since the start of last season. The Cards are a Top 5 offensive target on this slate and Goldy is in play...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 9/16/20

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 9/16/20 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!   Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD - P 11500 DK - SP 9900 Opponent - TOR (Tanner Roark) Park - NYY FD - 46.61 DK - 26.72 Almost all of the elite pitching comes on the main slate and while you can never go wrong with Jacob deGrom, it is almost impossible to ignore Cole's price that has dipped below $10K on DraftKings. Finally, after 10 starts, he went a whole start without giving up a home run and outside of two starts(vs. TB, @ATL) has been very good this season. He has struck out seven or more batters seven straight starts and has a 33% K rate on the season and faces a Jays team that is only slightly above average offensively on the season and have struck out over 28% of the time over the last week. This is the lowest price I can remember over the past couple of years and you can bet I will be taking advantage in all formats. Dylan Bundy FD - P 9800 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - ARI (Caleb Smith) Park - LAA FD - 35.33 DK - 18.96 On DraftKings, I am always trying to keep my starting pitcher's combined salaries below $20K and with Cole's price, we can easily accomplish that with Bunday at SP2. After four mediocre(at best) seasons with the Orioles, he looks like a completely new pitcher in LA going 5-2 over his first nine starts and holding opponents to two or fewer runs in seven of those starts(2.48 ERA, 3.38 xFIP). Tonight, he faces a D-Backs team that has lost 20 of their last 24 games and rank bottom 3 in almost every offensive category. All things considered, Bundy is my favorite SP2 on DraftKings and an upside GPP play on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Albert Pujols FD - 1B 2900 DK - 1B 3800 Opponent - ARI (Caleb Smith) Park - LAA FD - 10.15 DK - 7.72 If we are going to be paying up for pitching tonight(possibly two on DraftKings) we are going to need some value and I am a fan of what first base provides. It starts with the future first-ballot Hall of Famer, Albert Pujols, who may be on the home stretch of his career but is still providing fantasy value. He has been especially good lately as he comes in with hits in eight of his last 10 games while...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 9/15/20

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! We have quite the slate to start the week with three doubleheaders, one make-up game, and two completely different slates on FanDuel and DraftKings. If playing DraftKings, keep in mind the three doubleheaders are just seven-inning games. Let's dig in and take a look at some core plays at each position, covering the entire day. Pitchers Jack Flaherty FD - P 9800 DK - SP 9400 Opponent - MIL (Brett Anderson) Park - MILFD - 35.17 DK - 19.31 After struggling against the Cubs, Flaherty looked a bit more like himself against the Tigers last Thursday. He threw his most pitches of the season (95) and struck out six batters in five innings. The numbers aren’t cute to what they were last season with the K’s, but he’s still putting down more than a batter an inning and the 3.59 xFIP is right in line with previous seasons. He’’ll face a depleted Brewers’ team as a -144 road favorite. Jose Urquidy FD - P 6300 DK - SP 6600 Opponent - TEX (Kyle Cody) Park - HOUFD - 31.48 DK - 16.53 Jose Urquidy’s numbers in his first two starts are hilarious. He’s struck out only three batters in 9.2 innings while walking six. And yet the ERA is only 3.72 thanks to an incredibly low .093 BABIP against. This is all to say, the sample size is small and Urquidy has profiled as a strikeout pitcher throughout his time in the minors. He’s the best money line favorite on the day at -210 against the Rangers and I think we are buying way low. Strongly consider Deivi García (FD $8900 DK $6800) against the Blue Jays. He’s really looked great in his first three starts. Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD - 1B 3900 DK - 1B 5300 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COLFD - 15.37 DK - 11.45 As we’ve already established, it doesn’t look like we’ll be paying all that much for pitching meaning we can likely load up on the Athletics heading into Coors on Monday. This game, of course has the highest total and bats are somewhat reasonably priced. Olson isn’t having a repeat to his 2019 season by any means when he OPS’ed right around .900 with 36 home runs. The power numbers per plate appearance are mostly there this season but he’s running about .100 points off his BABIP at .203 though the...
