Pitchers Joe Musgrove FD 9600 DK 9100 Opponent - ARI (Tyler Gilbert) Park - ARIFD - 37.31 DK - 20.84 There have been some ups and downs, but for the most part Musgrove has had an excellent season with the Padres. He is sporting a 3.45 xFIP and striking out more than 10 batters per nine. That walks have stayed in check and now he gets an Arizona team that is one of the weaker offenses in baseball. This lines up for him to be a strong cash play on the main slate of games with the one caveat being we are waiting for some odds on a couple of the other games. Dylan Cease FD 8900 DK 9000 Opponent - NYY (Jameson Taillon) Park - NYYFD - 35.46 DK - 18.8 Cease gets a terrible matchup against the Yankees in this one, but it is also tough to ignore just what the guy has done on the mound this season. He is striking out close to 12 batter per nine on the year, representing an unbelievable jump year-over-year. One big change has been going back to the curveball, something he through a lot more in 2019 when the K rate was higher. You are buying the most potential Ks on the cheap here with the understanding that the matchup is a real tough one. Catcher/First Base Buster Posey FD 3300 DK 3900 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 10.21 DK - 7.87 Darin Ruf FD 2700 DK 2800 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 12.63 DK - 9.54 the Giants face off against the lefty Kyle Freeland here on Saturday evening and you have a chance to stack these two guys who will likely be hitting 2-3 in the order. Posey is having a turn-bask-the-clock season for sure, one of his best campaigns in the last decade. It has been a major surprise and he’s crushed the ball all season. He has a .981 OPS which would mark the best of his career if the season finished today. That’s thanks in part to a career-best 14% walk rate and there has been some luck involved as well with a .377 BABIP. In all, facing off against a low-K Freeland, this is a good spot. Then there is Ruf who should be hitting cleanup here and has been great in his own...

The Yankees and White Sox get a night off after an amazing display in the "Field of Dreams" game last night which gives us a 14-game slate tonight. Let's take a look at a few of my top plays at each position for DraftKings and FanDuel. Pitchers Robbie Ray FD - P 10700 DK - SP 9200 Opponent - SEA (Chris Flexen) Park - SEA FD - 37.17 DK - 19.73 I have a thing for road pitchers tonight and it starts with Robbie Ray who has been a bulldog for the Jays this season. He has provided tremendous safety going six or more innings eight of his last nine starts while posting a 2.10 ERA and 28% K rate. Adding to the PTS/$ floor is the fact he is at the low end of pricing we have seen home at recently and he also gets a boost in upside against a Mariners team that strikes out a ton(26.5%) against lefties. All things considered, Ray is my favorite pitcher on this slate. Blake Snell FD - P 9000 DK - SP 8400 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - ARI FD - 31.05 DK - 16.68 The decision at SP2 was a tough one as there are multiple viable options in this mid-range of pricing. For me, Snell gets the slight edge over Morton in cash games and it comes down to matchup as he faces a D-Backs team that has the 6th lowest wOBA, 5th lowest wRC+, and 2nd highest K rate(27%) since the trade deadline. There have definitely been some hiccups along the way this season but Snell is also starting to become more consistent and has held opponents to one of fewer earned runs in three of his last four starts. In this matchup, he is my favorite SP2 on this slate and at just $9K on FanDuel makes for a nice target to help load up on bats. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 3600 DK 4800 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - WSH FD - 11.79 DK - 8.82 First base is a bit of a disaster tonight unless you acquire a loan to pay up for Vladdy or Olson. I get that Freddie Freeman has struggled in the short term but he is still an elite hitter(reigning NL MVP) and comes in with a .288/.388/.491 slash line. What stands out here and the reason he...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Happy Field of Dreams day everyone! It has been a long time in the making but they built it and the Yankees and White Sox have arrived to play. The game is not on the main slate but you can bet I will have some action on this one in some form another. Let's dig in and look at some top DFS plays covering the entire day of baseball on Thursday. Pitchers Chris Bassitt FD - P 9900 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - CLE (Eli Morgan) Park - CLE FD - 36.13 DK - 19.83 Brandon Woodruff FD - P 11000 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - CHC (Kyle Hendricks) Park - CHC FD - 36.75 DK - 21.05 On the early slate, we get two aces on the mound, and on DraftKings I think we can consider pairing them together at just over $20K combined. Let's start with Bassitt who has been dominant in his last two starts going seven innings in both holding the Rangers and Angels to a combined one earned run with 15 strikeouts and just one walk. He gets the tougher matchup of the two but I list him first as I prefer him on FanDuel with the $1,100 discount. For Woodruff, he is a part of the best rotations in baseball and leads them with an elite 2.23 ERA and he is not only a safe play but has a ton of upside with a 30% K rate. The system has him as the top option tonight on both sites and it's hard to argue as he faces a Cubs depleted Cubs team that is striking out 28% of the time over the last two weeks. José Berríos FD - P 8500 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - LAA (Shohei Ohtani) Park - LAA FD - 35.27 DK - 19.25 I couldn't be more excited about this game as a Jays fans but also an Ohtani fan. Both pitchers are on my player pool in this smaller three-game slate but Berrios gets the edge in the much better matchup. He faces an Angels offense that has lost three of their last four(going into Wednesday night) and have tallied just a 73 wRC+ over the last two weeks with a 25% K rate. For Berrios, he has been terrific since coming over to Toronto at the deadline holding the Royals and Red Sox to a...

Pitchers Logan Gilbert FD 8900 DK 9600 Opponent - TEX (Kolby Allard) Park - TEXFD - 36.69 DK - 19.73 Through his first 67 major league innings, Logan Gilbert has been very good for the Mariners. He is striking out batters at a 10.56 per nine clip, good for a 28% K rate. And the peripherals are solid as well with a better than 4:1 K:BB ration. The Rangers are a dismissal offense and they sent off their best bat in Gallo at the trade deadline. Gilbert is a -198 home favorite here, some of the best win odds on the slate. He could be a popular play here. Jake Odorizzi FD 7400 DK 7700 Opponent - COL (Jon Gray) Park - HOUFD - 32.58 DK - 17.31 Odorizzi is not all that great of an arm, but he is in a good spot here on Tuesday. He comes into the game as a -176 home favorite against the Rockies who are a mediocre offense despite playing half their games in the best hitters park (by far) in baseball. Odorizzi is coming cheap for having such a good matchup and makes a solid DraftKings SP2 pairing thanks to a sub-$8K price point. Catcher/First Base Pete Alonso FD 3800 DK 4200 Opponent - WSH (Paolo Espino) Park - WSHFD - 14.19 DK - 10.53 Alonso hasn’t been able to recreate his unreal rookie season, but he remains a very strong hitter and it tough to put down on strikes. On the season, he has 24 home runs and an OPS in the low-.800s. The Mets have one of the higher implied run lines on the day against Espino and Alonso should be hitting third in the order. José Abreu FD 3700 DK 5900 Opponent - MIN (Griffin Jax) Park - MINFD - 13.88 DK - 10.5 The White Sox have one of the highest run expectations on this slate facing up in a matchup against Griffin Jax. Jax has really struggled in his first 32 major league innings, not finding much in the way of swing and miss stuff and carrying in a 5.91 xFIP. Abreu is expensive here, but is worth it considering the matchup and his still remaining power. Second Base Whit Merrifield FD 3100 DK 3800 Opponent - NYY (Nestor Cortes) Park - NYYFD - 12.34 DK - 9.61 Merrifield has an OPS under .700 on...

Pitchers Joe Musgrove FD 9000 DK 8500 Opponent - MIA (Zach Thompson) Park - MIA FD - 42.81 DK - 23.93 Very small slate tonight but we are still gifted with a couple of really good options on the mound. It starts with Joe Musgrove who, after getting hit around in his first start out of the break, has been terrific over his last three. In those starts, he has held Oakland, Miami, and Colorado to just three earned runs while striking out 20 batters. Musgrove provides a safe floor as he doesn't walk batters or give up many hits(.97 WHIP) and also provides a ton of upside with a 28% K rate and is a massive -235 favorite against a Marlins team that strikes out 26% of the time. Fire up Musgrove in all formats. Freddy Peralta FD 10200 DK 10500 Opponent - CHC (Alec Mills) Park - CHC FD - 39.95 DK - 22.69 After pitching in All-Star game, Peralta was eased back in to the rotation to start the second half and was limited to 51 and 68 pitches in his first two starts. The funny part is that during those "limited" starts he still gave us nice fantasy returns. He was unleashed in his last start making it back up to 98 pitches and struck out nine Pirates. Tonight, he gets another plus matchup against a depleted Cubs team that traded away everyone but the popcorn vendors at the deadline. The price is back up but Peralta gives us both a safe floor and a very high ceiling. Playable in all formats. **Update: This game has a right risk of PPD with 60-80% chance of rain so stay tuned for weather report in chat closer to lock*** Catcher/First Base José Abreu FD 3600 DK 6000 Opponent - MIN (Beau Burrows) Park - MIN FD - 13.46 DK - 10.19 Not only do we have a smaller five-game slate tonight but two of the games have weather implications and one (MIL/CHC) with a high chance of PPD. Thankfully this game has no issues as the White Sox are in a good spot against the Twins who will be running a bullpen game starting with a pitcher in Burrows who has given up 11 earned runs in just nine innings pitched. For Abreu, he has shown some consistency lately with hits in six straight, runs in five of those,...

Pitchers Yu Darvish FD - P 9000 DK - SP 10100 Opponent - ARI (Taylor Widener) Park - SDFD - 42.9 DK - 24.32 His last three outings or so have been a bit rough, but Darvish is still one of the better pitchers in the game and has had a strong season overall. He is still striking out batters at a closet 30% rate and has mostly been able to limit the walks. He is a massive -260 opening favorite against the Diamondbacks who lack much punch in the lineup. And he’s pitching at home in one of the better pitchers parks in baseball. Everything is lining up for Darvish to be the cash game play on Saturday evening. Charlie Morton FD - P 8700 DK - SP 9400 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - ATLFD - 38.65 DK - 21.39 Morton has quietly been one of the stronger and consistent pitchers over the last few seasons. Though he has made a few different stops along the way, the results have been mostly the same, which is to say, good. This season he is striking out more than 10 batters per nine and still induces groundballs at a 47% which is close to elite. He is a -214 home favorite in this one and way too cheap on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Ji-Man Choi FD - 1B 3000 DK - 1B 4700 Opponent - BAL (Spenser Watkins) Park - BALFD - 13.12 DK - 9.82 The Rays are in one of the best spots on the slate against Spenser Watkins and the Orioles. Choi is projected to hit second in the lineup for a team coming in over six implied runs. You love to see it. Choi strikes out almost 30% of the time, but he also walks at a 15% rate and gets on base about 36% of the time. Watkins has really struggled in the majors and the swing and miss stuff isn’t a problem for Choi here. Joey Votto FD 4100 DK 6100 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - PITFD - 13.71 DK - 10.29 Votto is very expensive so this is a tougher sell, but it is hard to argue with what the guy is doing this season. He is having an amazing bounce-back season with 22 home runs and an OPS well over .900 at this point. It is his best...
