Pitchers Drew Rasmussen FD 10200 DK 8100 Opponent - WSH (Trevor Williams) Park - WSH FD - 32.6 DK - 17.16 After spending most of his first two years in the league in the bullpen, the Rays fully transitioned him to a starter in 2022 and it paid off in a big way. He rewarded them with a very impressive 2.84 ERA/3.56 xFIP over 28 starts and while he does lack K upside(21.4%), he goes deep into games and finished the season going into the 6th in eight of his final nine starts. He got touched up in his first spring start but followed it up with two starts going a total of  eight innings allowing just three hits and no earned runs. He now gets a strong matchup against a Nats team that scored three runs in their first two games and will most likely end up a bottom-three offence in 2023. Fire up Rasmussen in all formats. Hunter Brown FD 9100 DK 7400 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - DET FD - 14.85 DK - 8.2 Is it just me or is there has there been a heavy rollout of young up-and-coming stars earlier than ever this season? Today it's Hunter Brown who cracked the rotation out of spring training thanks to an unfortunate injury to Lance McCullers but nevertheless, it feels like Brown's time. He dominated AAA last year holding opponents to a .185 average, posting a 2.55 ERA, and best of all striking out 31.5% of batters he faced. He then got the callup in September and pitched 12 innings over two starts striking out 11 and finished the season(split starts/bullpen) with a .98 ERA/2.78 xFIP. Not only does he come cheap allowing us to load up on hitters, he also gets a plus matchup against a bottom-three Tigers' offence. I will be playing Brown in all formats. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 3700 DK 5700 Opponent - COL (Ryan Feltner) Park - COL FD - 14.1 DK - 10.7 The Dodgers are #1 in my team stack rankings on Monday and while they are expensive, we have a nice combination of value pitching to help us get there. Freeman is Top 3 in our projections tonight and is off to a solid start to the season with hits in three of four games including two multi-hit efforts. I am not at all worried about the...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 4/1/23 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Spencer Strider FD 10800 DK 9700 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - WSH FD - 40.57 DK - 22.94 With Max Fried getting hurt on Opening Day, the Braves are going to be relying heavily on Spencer Strider to carry the rotation for the time being. Strider finished second behind his teammate Michael Harris in the 2022 Rookie of the Year voting after posting an elite 2.67 ERA and even better 2.30 xFIP which led all starting pitchers(min 100 IP). While he only has two pitches(Fastball, Slider) in his arsenal, they are elite and helped him to a league-leading 38% K rate and 15.5% swinging strike rate. He gets one of, if not the best matchups on the board Saturday against a Nationals team that is projected to be a bottom-three offence this season. Fire up Strider in all formats. Justin Steele FD 8600 DK 6000 Opponent - MIL (Brandon Woodruff) Park - MIL FD - 32.74 DK - 16.95 Following a rookie season in 2021 where he split time between the bullpen and rotation, Justin Steele broke into the rotation full-time and was one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball. Over 24 starts, he held opponents to two or fewer earned runs 18 times which led to an impressive 3.18 ERA/3.48 xFIP. While he posted just a slightly above-average K rate(24.6%), he had the 9th-best hard hit rate against(25.7%) and the 2nd-best barrel rate allowed(3.9%). He starts the year off in a good spot against a Brewers lineup that struck out 12 times on Opening Day and was a bottom-10 team against southpaws in 2022. Steele is my favourite value play at starting pitcher today. Also Consider: Patrick Sandoval(LAA) who is will be looking to build off his best season as a pro(2.91 ERA/3.67 xFIP) and looked good in his final spring training appearance(3 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 6 K) and was solid in the World Baseball Classic, especially in the semifinals against Japan(4.1 IP, 4 hits, 0 ER, 6 K) Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD 3700 DK 4700 Opponent - WSH (Josiah Gray) Park - WSH FD - 12.91 DK - 9.65 Olson had a monster spring training and it carried right over to Opening Day as he went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored in a 7-2 route of the Nats. His first year in Atlanta saw the average drop...

Opening Day DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks – Thursday 3/30/23

Opening Day DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks - Thursday 3/30/23 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shane McClanahan FD 10400 DK 7700 Opponent - DET (Eduardo Rodriguez) Park - DETFD - 41.65 DK - 23.21 As with all MLB Opening Days, we have a bunch of aces taking the mound. That’s going to be the story when every team has the chance to put their best arms forward to start. Shane McClanahan is coming off a fantastic 2022 campaign that saw him strikeout 10.5 batter per nine while rocking a 2.60 xFIP. He’s about as efficient as it gets on the mound and even a late season shoulder issue didn’t slow him down all that much. The Rays -225 home favorites against the Tigers and McClanahan gets to go in one of the best pitchers parks around. Blake Snell FD 9500 DK 7900 Opponent - COL (Germán Márquez) Park - COLFD - 40.59 DK - 22.52 Blake Snell had an almost sneakily great 2022 season, sporting a 3.21 xFIP while striking out more than 12 batters per nine. The walks have always been a bit of an issue for the lefty, one of the reasons he only averaged 5.33 inning per start last season. But he can dial up the strikeouts with the best of them. For Opening Day, he’s coming in as a -208 home favorite against the weak-hitting Rockies who won’t do much outside of Coors Field this season. Snell is a fantastic value on both sites. Catcher/First Base Tyler Stephenson FD 2700 DK 3900 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - PITFD - 10.4 DK - 7.93 The Reds might have a rough season here, but they still play in one of the best hitters’ parks around and get a decent matchup against Mitch Keller to start things off. Tyler Stephenson should hit in the middle of the order after being in and out with injuries last season. When healthy, he was a mid-800s OPS guy though the Ks did climb some. He’s better against lefties for his career, but has been fine against righties and the pricing on both sites doesn’t make it all that tough to fit into lineups. And at catcher on DraftKings he makes for a particularly good value. Triston Casas FD 2700 DK 2900 Opponent - BAL (Kyle Gibson) Park - BALFD - 9.69 DK - 7.28 We’ll get into some more expensive hitters here shortly but if looking for a cheaper option to save on...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 10/5/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 10/5/22 I can't believe we're here. This is the final day of the regular season! That makes me sad because it's always bizarre to have your baseball routine taken away. In any case, it's been a fun year, and we still have playoffs ahead of us. This particular card could be frustrating, though. Every single team has things decided, and it could get ugly in terms of pitching. Many of these guys will be held back, and many hitters will be kept out of the lineups as well. We're going to do our best to project how it will shape out but be wary of this final slate! Also, we'd like to thank you for reading throughout the year! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shohei Ohtani FD - P 11200 DK - SP 10900 Opponent - OAK (Ken Waldichuk) Park - OAK FD - 48.68 DK - 27.06 It's unclear how long Shohei will pitch here, but he's easily the best option on the board. The two-way player has a 2.35 ERA and 1.03 WHIP this year, pitching even better in the second half. In fact, Ohtani has a 1.66 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 11.7 K/9 rate since the first week of June. He's obliterated Oakland all year, too, obtaining a 0.92 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in their three meetings. That's no surprise since the A's rank bottom-three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. In addition, LA enters this matchup as a -250 favorite, with Oakland projected for only three runs. Framber Valdez FD - P 10700 DK - RP 10200 Opponent - PHI (Bailey Falter) Park - HOU FD - 36.71 DK - 19.3 We have no clue how long any pitcher on this slate will last, but Houston says they're going to play their guys out. That's one of the only teams that we know of that's said that, and it makes Valdez an advantageous choice. The left-hander has actually been struggling as of late, but you know the Stros want to get him rolling heading into the postseason. Before his two most recent duds, Valdez set an MLB record with 25 straight quality starts. He also had a 2.41 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 8.6 K/8 rate in that sensational stretch. We also don't mind that he could face a B-squad Phillies lineup, putting up just three hits and no runs on Tuesday. Not to mention, he's a -180 favorite in this...

Dodgers Lead the DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 10/4/22

Mike Trout Leads the DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 10/4/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Julio Urías FD 10400 DK 9000 Opponent - COL (Ryan Feltner) Park - COLFD - 47.51 DK - 24.47 With the playoffs all but locked up across the league, we are in tricky spots when it comes to cash games on these final sites. There are a few teams still duking it out for seeding, but they really aren’t on the main slate here and that’s going to leave us with some issues. The Dodgers are taking it easy on their starters down the stretch so pitch counts are problems, but Urias is still coming in here as a -355 home favorite. That’s worth at least something and he isn’t breaking the bank on DraftKings at all. Again, these are weird times when it comes to late season MLB DFS. And while he likely won’t win, Urias is still at least a part of the NL Cy Young race. Justin Verlander FD 11200 DK 10500 Opponent - PHI (Ranger Suárez) Park - PHIFD - 39.51 DK - 21.97 Speaking of the Cy Young race, Justin Verlander is currently the odds-on favorite to win in the American League, holding a betting line lead over Dylan Cease. It’s unlikely that this outing changes those odds all that much, but it’s at least something to consider. He draws a tough matchup against the Phillies who are still fighting for some playoff seeding, but Verlander, in terms of skill, is about as good as it gets on this slate. Strongly consider Sean Manaea (FD $8100 DK $6500) Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 4300 DK 5700 Opponent - COL (Ryan Feltner) Park - COLFD - 13.14 DK - 9.9 In his first year with the Dodgers, Freeman didn’t have quite the power numbers we’ve come to expect seeing as how he hit *only* 20 home runs down from the 30+ he’d hit in previous seasons with similar numbers of plate appearances. But he still had over a .900 OPS and walked (12%) almost as much as he struck out (14.5%). He’s one of the elite hitters in the game and still makes for a great cash game option. José Abreu FD 3100 DK 4500 Opponent - MIN (Josh Winder) Park - MINFD - 10.05 DK - 7.6 Abreu had a fine season this time around with an .815 OPS thanks to a lower K rate (16%) and some run hot when...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD - P 10700 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - ARI (Tommy Henry) Park - MIL FD - 40.77 DK - 22.31 We still have some teams playing for positioning in the season's final days, and no team is feeling the pressure more than the Brewers who trail the final wildcard spot by two games. This makes paying up for Woodruff the optimal play as we know he isn't going to be limited. That and he has been incredible down the stretch holding opponents to just five earned runs over his last five starts(1.36 ERA) and has tallied double-digit strikeouts in four straight. He now faces a D-Backs team that did get to him in their last start but they have struggled since with an 81 wRC+ and 25% K rate so I am not concerned and will be loading up on Woodruff in all formats. Patrick Sandoval FD - P 9000 DK - SP 7700 Opponent - OAK (Adrián Martínez) Park - OAK FD - 37.87 DK - 1.99 Sandoval let us down a bit as a value SP2 in his last start but I am going back to the well as he has shown tremendous consistency in the second half. He has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in nine of 10 starts for an impressive 2.15 ERA and while the upside isn't always there, he has struck out seven or more three times. It will get another crack at the A's on Monday and they have been a bottom three offense all season and have struck out 27% of the time over the last month. At these prices, I am on board with Sandoval as a top SP2 option in all formats. Also Consider: George Kirby(SEA) as a -250 favorite in a game with a low total(7) going up against a below-average Tigers offense Catcher/First Base Ty France FD - 1B 3400 DK - 1B/3B 4400 Opponent - DET (Bryan Garcia) Park - SEA FD - 10.4 DK - 7.93 If we are going to be targeting top pitching on the mound, a balanced approach with our bats is the way to go. Enter Ty France who comes with a mid-tier price on both sites and has been red-hot coming in with hits in seven straight including four multi-hit efforts and has posted a .308 average with 148 wRC+ over his last 17...
