Pitchers Sandy Alcantara FD - P 10600 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - WSH (Paolo Espino) Park - WSH FD - 33.38 DK - 17.94 We have some interesting options for pitching tonight considering Clayton Kershaw is out of the mix with a likely pitch count coming off the IL. With Darvish and Wainwright facing red-hot offenses I will turn to Sandy Alcantara as my top option. He, himself comes in hot holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts(1.83 ERA/2.32 xFIP), and has seen a big spike in his K rate striking out 34% in that time. Tonight he face a Nats offense that has been league-average all season. Fire up Alcantara in all formats. Jake Odorizzi FD - P 8300 DK - SP 7600 Opponent - TEX (Spencer Howard) Park - TEX FD - 32.21 DK - 17.18 I am never really excited to roster Odorizzi but on this smaller slate, it is going to be tough to ignore his mid $7K price on DraftKings considering he is the biggest favorite on the slate. The good news is that he has qualified for the win in six straight starts while also holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of them. He now faces a Texas team that has been better lately but is still a bottom 5 offense overall. Take the win equity and PTS/$ floor and move on. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD 3000 DK 5700 Opponent - TEX (Spencer Howard) Park - TEX FD - 13.01 DK - 9.98 While I would spend the extra $300 for Vladdy on DraftKings, Gurriel gets the edge in the article with the huge price differential on FanDuel. He is not having a Vladdy-type season but is still putting up career-highs when looking at average(.315), OBP(.385), wOBA(.365), and wRC+(137). Consistency has been the name of the game and he enters this plus matchup with hits in 17 of his last 20. By far my favorite play at the position on FanDuel. Ty France FD 2900 DK 4100 Opponent - BOS (Eduardo Rodriguez) Park - BOS FD - 8.79 DK - 6.71 It's almost do or die time for the M's as they enter this three-game series with Boston trailing the wildcard by three games with this being the last series against a team they are chasing. France plays a huge role...

Pitchers Aaron Nola FD 8800 DK 9300 Opponent - COL (Ryan Feltner) Park - COLFD - 44 DK - 24.2 Nola comes into Sunday as a huge favorite against the Colorado Rockies. The Phillies are -260 at home and have a relatively easy matchup hear against one of the worst road offenses in the league. Nola is better than the 4.57 ERA would suggest with the xFIP sitting more than a run lower at 3.44. He is striking out about 11 batters per nine on the season with a 5.5:1 K:BB ratio pointing to a very efficient arm. He’s just run bad on the strand rate and the HR/FB which is driving the ERA up. That shouldn’t be an issue against the Rockies. Lance McCullers Jr. FD 9000 DK 10100 Opponent - LAA (Jaime Barria) Park - LAAFD - 38.76 DK - 21.57 McCullers is a -235 home favorite against the Angels on Sunday with the latter featuring about one scary bat in the whole lineup (Ohtani). The rest of the group is about as pedestrian as it gets and McCullers should have an easy time here. He’s striking out hitters at a 27% rate this season through the 4.36 BB/9 rate is still something of an issue. He isn’t quite as good as the 3.19 ERA would suggest with the xFIP sitting at 3.72, but this is still such a good spot. I like him a bit better on FanDuel, but he still slots as a DraftKings SP2. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 4500 DK 6200 Opponent - BAL (Zac Lowther) Park - BALFD - 15.67 DK - 11.88 He is the highest projected bat on the slate and for good reason. For starters, the Blue Jays has a 6.4 implied run line coming into the game which is about as high as you’ll ever see in a major league contest. And Vlad is about as good a hitter as you’ll see with a 1.007 OPS on the season thanks to 42 home runs and a .407 OBP. He’s just awesome. You are paying for it at this point for sure, but he is worth it. Yuli Gurriel FD 2900 DK 5500 Opponent - LAA (Jaime Barria) Park - LAAFD - 13.97 DK - 10.72 Jamie Barria has been just terrible this season and the Astros are in a good spot on Sunday. The former is...

Pitchers Zack Wheeler FD 10400 DK 10400 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 46.37 DK - 25.64 The slates between FanDuel and DraftKings are a little different today, meaning some of the choices aren’t available on both. Wheeler is only on the FanDuel main slate, but is a clear play there for the evening. He is a -205 favorite at home against the Rockies who, of course, are much, much worse at the plate outside the confines of Coors Field. Wheeler has had an excellent season, striking out more than 10 batters per nine with crazy-good efficiency at a 5.4 K:BB ratio. He is expensive, sure, but is one of the best arms in baseball. This is an easy play on FanDuel. Charlie Morton FD 9000 DK 8000 Opponent - MIA (Elieser Hernandez) Park - MIAFD - 40.38 DK - 22.44 Morton is on both DraftKings and FanDuel and is efficiently priced on both sites. He gets to face off against the lowly Marlins who rank 28th in team batting wOBA on the season and strike out 26% of the time. Morton has some of the best-implied win odds as a -255 home favorite. He is a solid combination of swing and miss stuff while also inducing a bunch of ground balls. I suspect he is the chalk on DraftKings considering the player pool there. The $8K price is simply too cheap and the matchup is too good. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD 2900 DK 5400 Opponent - LAA (José Suarez) Park - LAAFD - 13.84 DK - 10.62 The Astros are going to be a popular stack on Saturday facing off against Jose Suarez. Gurriel should be in the middle of the lineup against the lefty and is a very tough out in, putting the ball in play close to 80% of the time with a .383 OBP. He doesn’t have a ton of power but keeps the floor high because of the 11% strikeout rate. He is a little expensive on DraftKings over $5K but the FanDuel price is way too cheap. Carlos Santana FD 2900 DK 2500 Opponent - MIN (Michael Pineda) Park - MINFD - 9.99 DK - 7.44 Santana has moved down the order some but is coming very cheap on DraftKings especially. Even hitting sixth, the DK price is near the minimum though it is for a reason. The...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/10/21

Pitchers Robbie Ray FD - P 11200 DK - SP 10700 Opponent - BAL (Chris Ellis) Park - BAL FD - 36.78 DK - 19.47 Ray has crept his way up to almost being the favorite for the CY Young award in the American League. Sure, his closest competition dealing with injuries has helped but Ray has been elite in his own right, especially down the stretch. He enters the night with four straight starts tallying double-digit K's and 32+ DK/55+ FD points. The matchup is only average as O's are much better against lefties than righties but Ray has been matchup-proof lately and is easily my top pitcher in all formats. Framber Valdez FD 10500 DK 9100 Opponent - LAA (Shohei Ohtani) Park - LAA FD - 37.14 DK - 19.64 Valdez has been on a roller coaster ride in the second half but we cannot ignore the matchup against the Angels as outside of Ohtani it is getting pretty ugly. Going back to the beginning of August they rank last in wOBA(.280), 2nd to last in wRC+(77), and 3rd in K rate(25.4%). Despite a few bad starts, Valdez enters the night with a sparkling 3.08 ERA backed up by a 3.51 xFIP but does lack big K upside(22%) so he falls to #2 in my rankings tonight. Still safe in all formats and my top SP2 on DraftKings. Catcher/First Base Salvador Perez FD - C 4200 DK - C 5800 Opponent - MIN (Griffin Jax) Park - MIN FD - 10.02 DK - 7.62 I never thought I would be leading off with a nearly $6K catcher but here we are. The Royals are once again one of the top projected offenses in a great spot against Griffin Jax who has given up 19 earned runs(6 HR) over his last three starts and sits with a 6.79 ERA/5.66 xFIPon the season. For Perez, he has been in beast mode in the second half with a .403 wOBA/157 wRC+ and leads the league in that time with 21 home runs. It's another Royals chalk night and it starts with Perez in all formats. Ty France FD - 1B 2900 DK - 1B 4700 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - SEA FD - 9.05 DK - 6.91 For value at the position, I like turning to Ty France who continues to prove the Mariners won the 2020 trade. He has...

Pitchers Marcus Stroman FD - P 8900 DK - SP 9400 Opponent - MIA (Jesús Luzardo) Park - MIA FD - 33.74 DK - 17.35 Pitching is a mess once again on Thursday but the good news is the top option is pretty straightforward here. While Stroman doesn't really provide that slate-breaking upside, he has been very consistent in 2021 as he enters with a 2.93 ERA/3.65 xFIP. Justifying the top price on the slate is the matchup against the Marlins who are a mid-pack offense overall and have struggled recently to a .278 wOBA/75 wRC+(both bottom 5) over the last couple of weeks. All things considered, Stroman is my top pitcher in all formats. Ranger Suárez FD - P 8600 DK - SP 7400 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - PHI FD - 24.87 DK - 12.72 After dominating out of the bullpen for most of the season, the Phillies have eased him into the rotation and it is paying off as he has posted a stellar 1.71 ERA. The only concern here is that he was pulled after 71 pitches in his last start but manage, Joe Girardi stated it was merely precautionary. I will take his word for it as we don't really have many options. Either way, Suarez gets a plus matchup against the Rockies who have struggled recently(.303 wOBA/74 wRC+) and rank dead last on the road with a .273 wOBA and 68 wRC+. Suarez is my top SP2 on DraftKings and a GPP punt on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD 3900 DK 6000 Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSH FD - 15.81 DK - 11.83 Very small slate tonight but one thing is very clear. Get as many Braves in your lineup as possible. It starts with a matchup against Erick Fedde who has given up nine earned runs in his last two starts and enters with a 5.27 ERA on the season. For Freeman, he is one the best hitters in the game and despite a "down season" still enters the night with a near-elite .291/.388/.497 slash line. Provided enough value shows up tonight, Freeman is my top overall play at first base with his best value coming on FanDuel. Pete Alonso FD 3500 DK 4800 Opponent - MIA (Jesús Luzardo) Park - MIA FD - 11.54 DK - 8.57 If you just can't stomach the insane price tag on...

It took me more time than usual to select my guys, but I feel like that could be beneficial. I really dug deep into our projections and was able to spot some major values from some of the best players in baseball. We also have some volatile pitchers, and it's definitely looking like a GPP slate with all the question marks out there. With that in mind, let's kick things off with a pitcher who's due for a bounceback start. Pitchers Yu Darvish FD - P 9000 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - LAA (Undecided) Park - SD FD - 35.75 DK - 20.22 Darvish was actually one of the best pitchers in baseball before hitting a slide around the All-Star break, but we believe he can return to that form here. Let's kick things off by talking about his early-season form, with Darvish dialing up a 2.44 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 10.8 K/9 rate through June. His numbers have been falling since then, but he's still got a solid 4.05 ERA and 1.07 WHIP for the year. The main reason we think he can bounce back is this matchup, with Los Angeles playing without Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon. That's turned them into one of the worst lineups in baseball, which was evident when Blake Snell had a no-hitter through six innings against them on Tuesday. Matt Harvey FD - P 6200 DK - SP 5300 Opponent - KC (Mike Minor) Park - BAL FD - 33.72 DK - 16.21 No, I'm not crazy. Harvey was one of the worst pitchers in baseball for the first few months, but something has changed recently. Despite owning a 6.28 ERA for the season, Harvey has really turned his season around. In fact, The Dark Knight has a 3.99 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over his last nine starts. That's a ridiculous run from a guy this cheap, and using Harvey will allow you to do whatever you want with your lineup. All you really need from him is a bad quality start, and that seems possible in a matchup like this with the way he's rolling. The Royals currently rank 27th in OBP and 26th in wOBA this season. We also believe Vladimir Gutierrez can provide some good value against the worst lineup in baseball, the Cubs. Catcher/First Base Jared Walsh FD - 1B 2900 DK - 1B...
