DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/13/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/13/22 Many people complain about this time of the year, but it's a fantastic time to be a sports fan in my humble opinion. We're deep into the baseball season and still have Summer League and The Open to look forward to this weekend. We dropped a golf article yesterday, but we'll keep the baseball grind going here. There are two offenses we absolutely love on this slate, with the Yankees and Padres standing above the rest. We need some value pitchers to match with those offenses, though, so let's start there! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Jon Gray FD - P 9000 DK - SP 7700 Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - TEX FD - 35.98 DK - 18.93 As someone who watched Gray get blown up in Coors Field over the last five years, I knew this guy would be successful once he got out of that ballpark. Not many people can be successful in Colorado, and a move to Texas has changed Gray's career. The righty has scored at least 29 FanDuel points in each of his last six starts, providing a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 10.8 K/9 rate in that span. You can't ask for any more from a player in this price range, especially since he has the best matchup in fantasy. The A's rank 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. That has Gray entering this matchup as a -190 favorite, with Oakland projected for just 3.5 runs! Brady Singer FD - P 7600 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - KC FD - 30.1 DK - 15.35 This is a risky play, but Singer is the best option if you want to stack expensive offenses like the Yankees. Singer's biggest asset is his matchup, facing a Detroit team that has scored the fewest runs in baseball while sitting bottom-three in OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. That makes them a good matchup for anyone, but Singer has been in tune outside of one dud against Houston. Brady has a 3.56 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 8.8 K/9 rate in his other 12 appearances this year. That's fantastic from a sub-$8K player, and it should continue against the Motor City Kitties, with Singer dropping 35 FD points in this matchup earlier this season. Pablo López (FD $10000 DK $10800) gets a home start against the Pittsburgh Pirates and should cruise to a...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 7/12/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD 10600 DK 10500 Opponent - CIN (Graham Ashcraft) Park - CINFD - 42.95 DK - 24.32 Gerrit Cole is a runaway favorite on this slate, with the Yankees coming in at -304 at home against the Reds. It’s one of the biggest money lines you will see and it’s for pretty good reason. Cole has been excellent this season, striking out more than 11 batters per nine with a 2.95 xFIP that’s actually about .3 runs lower than his ERA. The Reds rank 20th in the league in team wOBA and that’s even with playing half their games in the second-best hitter’s park in baseball. This is an easy call on Cole. Logan Webb FD 10000 DK 9500 Opponent - ARI (Dallas Keuchel) Park - ARIFD - 37.52 DK - 19.66 Webb is the other big win favorite on the slate with the Giants at -221 against the Diamondbacks. Arizona ranks 26th in team wOBA on the season and strike out 23% of the time. Meanwhile, Webb isn’t having quite the strikeout success he showed last season, putting batters down at only a 21% clip. But he mitigates that by keeping the ball on the ground, inducing a 56% groundball rate this season. That’s one reason the .284 BABIP against is on the lower side. While I wish he struck out more batters, it’s hard to fade the money line for sure and he doesn’t totally break the bank on DraftKings. Catcher/First Base Luke Voit FD 3200 DK 3400 Opponent - COL (Austin Gomber) Park - COLFD - 13.93 DK - 10.45 The Padres are in Coors once again and they have the highest implied run total on the day. It’s for good reason. We typically want to stack Coors any chance we get and this is definitely one of those chances. They’ll face the lefty Austin Gomber and will likely be pretty popular here. Voit should hit clean up and is coming way too cheap on both sites. He’s got a high strikeout rate, but that’s much less of a concern against Gomber. And while he’s been better against righties, for his career, the splits against lefties are well about average. This is an easy call, especially on DraftKings. Darin Ruf FD 2600 DK 2800 Opponent - ARI (Dallas Keuchel) Park - ARIFD - 12.39 DK - 9.31 Run is an interesting case here and it’s...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 7/11/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Aaron Nola FD - P 10100 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - STL (Miles Mikolas) Park - STL FD - 37.06 DK - 20.14 Good luck making the right choice on the mound tonight as we have 4-5 legit options who could be considered top arms on this slate. The interesting part is that not one of them has a matchup that jumps off the page outside of Nola who faces a struggling Cards team that has scored just 11 runs over their last eight games. Nola hasn't been pinpoint recently but has been very consistent going 7+ innings in six straight starts while recording a 2.01 ERA with 41 strikeouts and just five walks. In multi-entry, I will likely have some exposure to each of the top 4 but for cash games, Nola is my top dog. Max Fried FD - P 10400 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - NYM (Max Scherzer) Park - ATL FD - 36.68 DK - 19.85 To say this was a tough choice at SP2 would be an understatement as Fried not only goes up against one of the best in Max Scherzer but also faces a Top 5 Mets offence. While Fried may not have the upside of Max, he has been just as consistent, especially recently as he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in eight of his last nine starts for a 1.85 ERA/3.08 xFIP. If there is one positive to take away from this tougher matchup is that the Mets haven't been as good against lefties and Fried looked good against them earlier in the year holding them to four hits and two earned runs while striking out six(23 DK/40 FD). Fried is in play in all formats and is my favourite SP2 on DraftKings if paying up for both pitchers. Also Consider: Merrill Kelly(ARI) who has been terrific holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four facing a struggling Giants team(69 wRC+/25% K rate last 7 days) Catcher/First Base Luke Voit FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B 3600 Opponent - COL (José Ureña) Park - COL FD - 13.02 DK - 9.77 Eric Hosmer FD - 1B 3000 DK - 1B 2100 Opponent - COL (José Ureña) Park - COL FD - 10.83 DK - 8.35 Paying up for pitching may not be as hard as you think tonight...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/10/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/10/22 We're winding down to the All-Star break. We're only a week away from those festivities, and it's been a fun first half of the season. It's tough to gauge who will start that All-Star game, but our first pitching recommendation might be the guy! With that in mind, let's get started with the best pitcher in fantasy! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Sandy Alcantara FD - P 10700 DK - SP 10700 Opponent - NYM (Taijuan Walker) Park - NYM FD - 35.15 DK - 18.35 Consistency is arguably the most important thing when evaluating DFS pitching, and there's been no more reliable pitcher than this guy. His length is what makes Alcantara so good, throwing at least seven innings in 11 straight starts. There are only a few pitchers who have double-digit seven-inning starts all year, and it looks even better with Alcantara amassing a 1.33 ERA and 0.74 WHIP in that span. He's also scored at least 40 FanDuel points in 10 of those 11 starts, and it should continue in a pitcher's park like Citi Field. He faced this Mets team in Citi Field two weeks ago and dropped 52 FD points! Julio Urías FD - P 9900 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - CHC (Undecided) Park - LAD FD - 33.78 DK - 17.34 Urias got off to a rough start this season, but he's been amazing over the last month. The lefty has allowed one run or fewer in six of his previous nine starts, generating a 2.26 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 9.9 K/9 rate in that span. That's the stud we've become accustomed to, and we love his 2.45 ERA and 0.97 WHIP at Dodger Stadium this season. The Cubs are also far from a scary matchup, with Chicago sitting 20th in xwOBA and 25th in K rate. This is one of the oddsmakers favorite plays, too, with Urias and LA entering this matchup as a -300 favorite, with Chicago projected for just 3.5 runs. Michael Kopech (FD $8200 DK $8200) had a 2.11 ERA and 0.96 WHIP through his first 11 starts and could recapture that form against the lowest-scoring team in baseball. Catcher/First Base José Abreu FD - 1B 3500 DK - 1B 5400 Opponent - DET (Drew Hutchison) Park - CHW FD - 11.56 DK - 8.75 Abreu was atrocious through the opening month of the season, but he's really been finding his swing recently. The...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 7/9/22(Early Slate)

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 7/9/22(Early Slate) Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD - P 10000 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - PIT (Zach Thompson) Park - MIL FD - 40.32 DK - 21.95 The early slate is loaded with pitching and it starts right at the top with Brandon Woodruff who is a part of an elite pitching staff in Milwaukee. The Brewers open as the biggest favourites(-245) on the slate in a terrific matchup against a bottom-five Pirates offence that has struck out over 27% of the time over the last two weeks. For Woodruff, he has gone 4-1 over his last five starts while allowing just five earned runs(1.73 ERA) and striking out 34% of batters he has faced. He tops my model, he tops our projections, and he is an elite play in all formats on Saturday. Carlos Carrasco FD 9000 DK 7500 Opponent - MIA (Braxton Garrett) Park - MIA FD - 32.82 DK - 16.89 There is a path to paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings today and while Kyle Wright would be my top choice, he has lacked strikeouts lately and faces a team who just doesn't swing and miss. This has me going down the board to find some value at the SP2 position and Carrasco is coming to us at a season-low price. This after a huge bounce-back effort in his last start where he allowed just one earned run to the Rangers while striking out eight over 5.2 innings. He now faces a struggling Marlins offence that has just a .276 wOBA and 79 wRC+ over the last two weeks. I will have exposure to Carrasco in all formats on DraftKings helping me to more bats. Catcher/First Base Christian Walker FD 3500 DK 3900 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COL FD - 10.54 DK - 7.99 The Diamondbacks' offence has looked a whole lot better as of late as they sit with a wRC+(115) over the last two weeks that is 25% higher than their 26th ranked season number(90). Walker has played a role in that success as he is hitting .286 over the last three weeks while getting on base at an elite .440 clip which has produced a personal 178 wRC+ in that time. He has also thrived against lefty pitching with a .442 wOBA/186 wRC+ in the split on the season. All things considered, Walker is my top PTS/$ play at first base...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 7/8/22

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Lucas Giolito FD 8800 DK 7800 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - DETFD - 39.55 DK - 21.45 Giolito comes in as a -174 home favorite against the Tigers on Friday and makes for one of the best cash game pitching options on the day. Though the 4.90 ERA might scare some people off, the xFIP is more than a run lower at 3.69 and he’s been bitten by some bad luck with a BABIP about 80 points higher than his career average. He’s facing a lowly Tigers team that sits near the bottom of the league in team wOBA and strikes out 24% of the time. Tyler Anderson FD 9000 DK 9400 Opponent - CHC (Keegan Thompson) Park - CHCFD - 38.19 DK - 19.83 Though Tyler Anderson doesn’t strike out batters at quite the rate we usually look for in cash games, he has plenty of other things going for him here. For starters, the ability to keep the ball on the ground and solid control has meant he’s been going around 6.5 innings per start this season, one of the higher rates in the league. He K’s fewer than eight batters per nine, but still has a. 4.5:1 K:BB rate because of the control. And he’s the biggest money line favorite on the day at -233 against the Cubs. Strongly consider Chris Bassitt (FD $9800 DK $8700) against the Marlins. Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD 3700 DK 4300 Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSHFD - 13.02 DK - 9.69 The Braves come in with the highest run line of the day (5.8) facing off against Erick Fedde and the Nationals. Olson isn’t flashing quite the same power numbers that scored him a big contract with the Braves in the offseason, but he’s still been solid with an OPS in the 800s, a good walk rate, and he’s mashed righties for his career. He has an .879 OPS and 137 wRC+ in that split. The Braves could put a hurting on Fedde today. Anthony Rizzo FD 3700 DK 4800 Opponent - BOS (Connor Seabold) Park - BOSFD - 12.69 DK - 9.54 While I prefer a Braves stack to really any other team, the Yankees are in a good spot here against the Red Sox and Seabold. The latter doesn’t project to be the huge K guy he’s been in a short stint in the...
