That makes it much easier to forecasts the weather and fortunately for us, there's really not much rain on today's slate. With that said, the cities we do need to keep an eye on are New York, Baltimore and Kansas City.PitchersNoah Syndergaard FD - P 10600 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - MIA (Caleb Smith) Park - NYMFD - 40.37 DK - 22It's strange to see a pitcher with a 5.14 ERA and 1.33 WHIP priced so highly but there's reason to believe that those numbers will shrink drastically after this game. What's really impressive about Thor are his stellar peripherals, with Syndergaard posting a 3.42 xFIP this season while owning a 27 percent K rate. That's the pitcher that we've become accustomed to and a complete game shutout with 10 Ks two starts ago shows the sort of potential he has. The matchup is the reason we really like him here though, facing a Marlins team who ranks dead-last in wOBA, xwOBA and runs scored. That's why Thor enters this matchup as a -190 favorite with a total of 6.5.Hyun-Jin Ryu FD - P 10300 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - WSH (Stephen Strasburg) Park - LADFD - 38.29 DK - 20.87Ryu has quietly been one of the best pitchers in the league this season and it's really not indicative in this price tag. In seven starts this season, Ryu has posted a 2.03 ERA and 0.81 WHIP while posting an absurd 45:2 K:BB rate in 44.1 innings. That's simply ludicrous control and it shows just how dominant the lefty has been. Facing Washington at home can be beneficial too, with the Nations posting the second-worst K rate in the majors. Vegas appears to love Ryu too, as he enters this matchup as a -170 favorite, with Washington projected for only three runs.Blake Snell pops up highly in our projections, as he's one of the best strikeout pitchers in the majors facing a diminished Yankees lineup. Catcher/First BasePaul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 4300 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - STLFD - 14.28 DK - 10.76The slugging first baseman has gotten off to a bit of a slow start but collecting three hits in back-to-back games coming into this fixture is an extremely encouraging sign. He also has two...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 5/11/19 Welcome to a big day of Saturday baseball! Pitchers Jacob deGrom FD - P 11300 DK - SP 11000 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - NYMFD - 46.79 DK - 26.21We've got dueling aces on the main slate tonight, but early returns have our system favoring the one from New York. Don't let the less than amazing ERA fool you - deGrom is up to his old ones again this season, whiffing batters at an astounding 12.6 K/9 while maintaining a walk rate under 3/9. He's essentially had 2 bad starts and 4 utterly dominant ones, and the bad ones just look like a case of variance to me. Tonight he'll draw the Marlins and by far the best money line on the night. The Marlins solidly hold the crown as the best match-up for right handed pitching this season, with the lowest wOBA against righties and the third highest K rate. It's going to be awfully tough to get away from deGrom in cash games for me. Max Scherzer FD - P 10800 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - LAD (Walker Buehler) Park - LADFD - 40.2 DK - 22.77It's pretty crazy to think of Scherzer as an "off beat big tournament play," but given the fact that the Nats are underdogs in this one that's probably where we're landing. As we've said many times, we don't really worry about the moneyline for big tournament plays since a player the caliber of Scherzer is obviously capable of securing a win in any match-up. His peripherals are actually better than even deGrom's this season, with a similar K rate and a minuscule sub 2 BB/9. He's had simply awful BABIP luck this year, allowing a .377 figure that's more than .100 points higher than the levels he's established recently. Let's be clear for a second: the Dodgers are a flat out bad match-up, with a bottom 5 K rate and a top 5 wOBA against righties. All the more reason people will be off him. I love Scherzer as a way to go against the grain tonight. Kevin Gausman FD - P 7300 DK - SP 7800 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park -...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 5/10/19 Friday's MLB action gives us a full slate of evening games for FanDuel and DraftKings. We've got a game in Coors, some higher run totals elsewhere and some pitching question marks that we'll need to wade through. The games we need to keep an eye on for this slate are HOU-TEX, MIA-NYM, LAA-BAL, SEA-BOS and PHI-KC. The good news is that none of these forecasts look too serious but it's imperative to check in on these forecasts prior to lineup lock, just to make sure. With that in mind, let's get to some of our plays! PitchersZack Wheeler FD - P 9200 DK - SP 9700 Opponent - MIA (Pablo Lopez) Park - NYMFD - 38.52 DK - 20.47Wheeler might be the safest pick among any pitcher on this slate, as he finds himself in a great situation to succeed. Let's start with the ballpark because Citi Field has surrendered the fewest runs in the majors dating back to the beginning of last season. That's why Mets pitchers tend to have low ERA's but this matchup may be the best part of this play. In fact, the Marlins currently rank dead-last in runs scored, wOBA and xwOBA. That's why Wheeler enters this matchup as a -200 favorite with Miami only projected to score three runs. Kenta Maeda FD - P 7600 DK - SP 9200 Opponent - WSH (Anibal Sanchez) Park - LADFD - 35.89 DK - 19.39Maeda's 4.66 ERA and 1.42 WHIP are nothing to get excited about but there's reason to believe that those numbers will start shrinking. The major reason we see a positive regression coming is because of Maeda's peripherals, as he currently owns a .316 xwOBA and 3.75 career xFIP. What also makes Maeda an intriguing option is his 26 percent K rate and that should become beneficial against a Washington team who sits dead-last in that statistic. Vegas obviously notices all of these variables in Maeda's favor, as he enters this matchup as a -200 favorite, with the Nationals projected to score only three runs.If you're looking for a cheap pitcher, Dereck Rodriguez gets to pitch at home in one of the best pitcher's park in the majors against a Reds team who ranks last in batting average. Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Early Yu Darvish FD - P 8200 DK - SP 9500 Opponent - MIA (Trevor Richards) Park - CHC FD - 31.71 DK - 16.86 It says a lot about the early slate pitching options when I lead off with Yu Darvish and his 5.79 ERA/5.00 xFIP. His two biggest issues early in the season are the walks(17.8%) and home runs(2.2 per 9). The good news today is that he and the Cubs face a Marlins team that is not only dead last in runs scored(99) but also in walk rate(6.9%) and ISO(.097) which somewhat negates Darvish's issues. He does have K upside with a 24% K rate(29% career average) and while the fastball is only generating 9% swinging strikes, the slider is generating 17% swinging strikes which just happens to be the Marlins worst pitch as a team(via FanGraphs). All things considered, Darvish is my top pitcher on both sites for the early slate. Also Consider: Chris Bassitt(OAK) Main Mike Soroka FD - P 9900 DK - SP 9000 Opponent - ARI (Luke Weaver) Park - ARI FD - 31.79 DK - 16.99 It has been an incredible start to the season for the rookie who leads the Braves in ERA(1.14), xFIP(3.04), K rate(26.7%), and is second to Max Fried in wins with three. Those numbers also sit among the leaders across the entire league putting him on the fantasy radar almost every time he takes the bump. He is currently only throwing two pitches 91% of the time but the slider has been almost unhittable as he is generating a 14% swinging strike rate with it. Tonight he goes on the road to face a Diamondbacks team for the second time(5IP, 1 ER, 6 K, 2 BB) in less than a month. That same Diamondbacks team has been much better against lefties and slightly below average vs. righties while striking out 23% of the time. It is very close at the top between Corbin and Soroka but tonight I slightly lean Soroka on FanDuel and will likely pair them together on DraftKings as both are in the sub $10K range. Also Consider: Patrick Corbin(WSH) as a 1B option in a worse matchup Catcher/First Base Early Carlos Santana FD - 1B 3900 DK - 1B 4600 Opponent - CHW (Manny Banuelos) Park - CLE FD - 11.4 DK - 8.5 Santana has cooled down since his hot start but even with just...

Pitchers Early Charlie Morton FD - P 9300 DK - SP 10100 Opponent - ARI (Robbie Ray) Park - TB FD - 37.62 DK - 0.09 We are paying a premium for Morton on this small four-game slate ut he checks every box and is my top target. Outside of the one start vs. Boston where he gave up five runs, he has been terrific holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in each of his other six starts. Not only is he producing an elite 50%+ ground ball rate but he has also flashed a ton of upside striking out 30% of batters he has faced with a career-high 12.7% swinging strike rate(34% on balls outside the zone). Today he and the Rays are -160 home favorites in one of the best pitchers parks in the league facing a team that is much better against left-handed pitching. Morton is in play in all formats. Also Consider: Robbie Ray(ARI) as a GPP pivot as the underdog in the same matchup but. He has K upside(27%) and faces a Rays team that is striking out 30% of the time vs. lefties Main Chris Sale FD - P 11000 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - BAL (Andrew Cashner) Park - BAL FD - 41.59 DK - 23.82 Sale highlights the options on the main slate and while the price is back up in the elite territory, so is the performance. That is good news for Red Sox fans and fantasy owners alike as it was a rough start to the season, for sure. Over his last three starts, he has allowed just four total earned runs(none last start) while striking out 28 batters(39%) with a 13% swinging strike rate. He and the Red Sox open as huge -255 favorites against an Orioles team that ranks near the bottom of the league in almost all offensive categories and have been slightly worse against lefties while striking out 26% of the time in the split. Sale is our top projected pitcher by a wide margin and is a great play in all formats. Also Consider: Matthew Boyd(DET) who sits with a pretty 3.05 ERA, 3.28 xFIP, and a 32% K rate on the season and faces an Angels team that ranks bottom 10 in almost all offensive categories Listen to "Best DFS Baseball Plays for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/8/19" on Spreaker. FanDuel and DraftKings MLB Picks for Tuesday, 5/7/19
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 5/7/19 After a relatively weather-free slate on Monday, Mother Nature is not being kind to us here. In fact, about half the slate has rain projected in the forecast. The cities/states that you need to keep an eye on are St.Louis, Colorado, Cleveland, New York, Baltimore, Houston and Pittsburgh. While none of them look too severe at this point, it would be silly to try to predict a full 24 hours in advance. PitchersJon Lester FD - P 8500 DK - SP 9000 Opponent - MIA (Caleb Smith) Park - CHCFD - 36.4 DK - 18.64Lester is not a guy I have much season-long stock in but it's hard to argue with his recent production. In five starts this season, Lester hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of them en route to a 1.73 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He also has 26 Ks to match his 26 innings pitched and those ratios are hard to overlook. Facing Miami might be the best part about this play though, with the Marlins ranking 29th in xwOBA and dead-last in scoring. Opposing Caleb Smith is tough but we still project Lester to enter this matchup as a -160 favorite. Noah Syndergaard FD - P 10400 DK - SP 10100 Opponent - SD (Cal Quantrill) Park - SDFD - 37.94 DK - 20.66Thor's first few starts definitely scared fantasy owners off but his most recent gem shows the sort of upside he presents. In that special outing, Syndergaard pitched a complete game shutout while striking out 10 batters. That game shows the sort of upside that Syndergaard has, as his 2.70 career FIP and 27 percent K rate makes him one of the most dynamic pitchers in the league. Pitching in Citi Field is huge too, as that ballpark has ranks bottom-three in total runs over the last two years. Not to mention, he faces a Padres team who sits 27th in xBA, 24th in K rate and 28th in OBP. Masahiro Tanaka FD - P 8200 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - SEA (Marco Gonzales) Park - NYYFD - 33.71 DK - 18.15I'd be lying to you if I said that I'm excited about Tanaka here but his strikeout upside is fascinating. Not only does Seattle rank 28th in K rate, Tanaka's 24 percent K rate makes him a good bet for a big strikeout game here. Vegas really likes Tanaka too, as he enters this matchup as a...
