Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for the English Premier League - DraftKings 3/12/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ There are just two Premier League matches taking place in Saturday’s 3pm because a number of teams are still in the FA Cup which also takes place this weekend. Despite this, there is still a $12,000 prize fund up for grabs as Bournemouth host Swansea City and Southampton face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. Admittedly it isn’t going to be the most exciting weekend in Premier League history, but hopefully it’ll be a profitable. Playing other daily fantasy sports like NBA or NHL? We've got you completely covered.   Goalkeepers Artur Boruc – DK 3,600 Opponent – Swansea City Artur Boruc is the cheapest goalkeeper available that is going to start on Saturday, but he shouldn’t be. Of the four teams playing in this slate, Bournemouth are the most likely winners with a 52% chance of winning according to the bookmakers odds. This is significant because goalkeepers receive 5 points for a victory, and keepers are also awarded 5 points for a clean sheet which also has a good chance of occurring. Artur Boruc has only conceded one goal in his last three fixtures and Swansea are one of the lowest scoring Premier League sides, only Aston Villa have scored fewer goals this campaign. All in all, Boruc is the cheapest goalkeeper that will start on Saturday, but he should be the most expensive in my opinion. Jack Butland – DK 3,700 Opponent – Southampton An alternative option to Artur Boruc is Stoke City goalkeeper, Jack Butland who is similarly priced at $3,700. Butland has had an excellent season so far, he’s averaged 8.3 points per game which is better than the majority of Premier League keepers. Admittedly, Stoke City have a tricky match against Southampton, but they are at home and Ronald Koeman’s side are not prolific goalscorers. Southampton haven’t scored two or more goals in a match in their last seven games and they haven’t score two or more goals in...

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for UEFA Champions League – DraftKings 3/8/16

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for the UEFA Champions League - DraftKings 3/8/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ The Champions League returns in midweek for half of the second leg ties of the round of 16. On Tuesday, Real Madrid host Roma and will inevitably make the next round after winning 2-0 in Rome. On the same day, Gent travel to Germany to face Wolfsburg and on Wednesday Zenit face Benfica at the Piter Arena in Russia. The final Champions League fixture of the week takes place at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea face Ligue 1 champions, PSG in what should be an enthralling encounter. We've got you completely covered.   Goalkeepers Keylor Navas – DK 3,800 Opponent – Roma My number one choice in goal for the Champions League slate in midweek is Real Madrid goalkeeper, Keylor Navas. I’ve no idea why Navas isn’t the most expensive goalkeeper this slate, but he should be in my opinion. He’s averaged 10.8 points per match, only Kevin Trapp and Juri Lodygin have averaged more, and Navas has the easiest fixture according to the bookmaker’s odds. This is significant because goalkeepers are the only players to receive points for a victory and they also receive five points if they keep a clean sheet. In the first leg of this tie, Real Madrid won and Navas kept a clean sheet and subsequently finished the game with 15 points. Juri Lodygin – DK 3,900 Opponent – Benfica Zenit Saint Petersburg goalkeeper, Juri Lodygin is priced favourably against Benfica and is a good alternative to Keylor Navas in goal. Zenit are at home against Benfica and are therefore the most likely winners of this match, at least that’s what the bookmakers think and Zenit have notably won their last three Champions League home matches. A clean sheet may also be on the cards for Lodygin because Zenit are a good side defensively, whereas Benfica haven’t been full of goals in the Champions League. Finally Lodygin has averaged an impressive...

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for English Premier League – DraftKings 3/5/16

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for English Premier League - DraftKings 3/5/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ In midweek each side in the top four failed to win which has made this Premier League campaign even more exciting. This season’s surprise package, Leicester City are three points clear at the top of the League and they are followed by North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal who face each other on Saturday. This weekend’s results could potentially have a huge impact on the League standings and Saturday’s EPL slate should make watching the action even more entertaining. Playing other daily fantasy sports like NBA or NHL? If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections, check out our lineup builder and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. First time with DFS? Be sure to read our free NBA Ebook on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered.   Goalkeepers Artur Boruc – DK 3,500 Opponent – Newcastle United At just $3,500, Artur Boruc is my goalkeeper of choice for Saturday’s EPL slate. The Bournemouth keeper comes into this fixture off the back of scoring 12 and 7 points against Southampton and Watford. Boruc faces the slightly easier task of Newcastle United this weekend who’ve only scored 27 goals all season, only Aston Villa have scored fewer. Goalkeepers receive five points for a clean sheet and five for a victory and you wouldn’t put these past Bournemouth who are coming into this match full of confidence after beating Southampton 2-0. Joe Hart – DK 4,500 Opponent – Aston Villa Joe Hart is a slightly more pricey option than Artur Boruc but there’s good reason for that. First of all, he’s averaged a respectable 7.1 points per game and we’d expect him to outscore his average against Aston Villa who sit bottom of the Premier League table. As I mentioned above, goalkeeper receive five points for a clean sheet and another five for a victory, both of which are likely to happen. According to the bookmakers odds, Manchester City have a 83.33% chance of beating Aston Villa and a 58% chance of keeping a clean sheet, thus making Joe Hart a good goalkeeping option.   Defenders Charlie Daniels – DK 4,200 Opponent – Newcastle United Charlie Daniels has been superb for...

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for English Premier League – DraftKings 3/02/16

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for English Premier League - DraftKings 3/02/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ There are five Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday and this has resulted in a good opportunity to get involved on DraftKings. A word of caution before you read my recommendations. Some of the teams that are involved played as recently as Sunday and consequently may rest some players, therefore as always, I’d advise you wait for team news before confirming your line ups. Goalkeeper Petr Cech – DK 4,200 Opponent – Swansea City Petr Cech is the obvious choice in goal for Wednesday’s Premier League slate. The Arsenal goalkeeper is valued at $4,200 when playing at home against Swansea who sit 16th in the Premier League table. Goalkeepers are the only players who receive points for a victory and Arsenal are the most likely winners of the teams playing on Wednesday. Goalkeepers also receive five points if they keep a clean sheet and Arsenal have only conceded 26 goals this campaign, only Tottenham have conceded fewer. Furthermore, Swansea have struggled to score goals this season, they’ve only scored 26 times, only bottom of the table, Aston Villa have scored fewer goals. Finally, Petr Cech has averaged 10.2 points per game this season, that’s more than any other goalkeeper available this slate. Heurelho Gomes – DK 3,400 Opponent – Manchester United As a cheaper alternative to Petr Cech, you may wish to consider Watford goalkeeper, Heurelho Gomes who is priced at $3,400. Watford do have a relatively tough match against Manchester United, however they’re far from prolific goalscorers and are without Wayne Rooney. Goalkeepers do receive two points each time they make a save and Gomes will inevitably be in the thick of the action at Old Trafford. This season Gomes has averaged 7.6 points per game and this makes him a good addition to your team at a cheap price.   Defenders Phil Bardsley – DK 2,100 Opponent...

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for English Premier League - DraftKings 3/01/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ We are treated to some Premier League action in midweek and there’s a $25,000 prize pool up for grabs in Tuesday’s EPL slate. There are some crucial games taking place, but non-more important than Leicester City’s home match versus West Bromwich Albion. Despite being one of the favourites for relegation at the start of the season, Leicester City are now the bookmakers favourite to win the League and should they win the League, it would arguably be the biggest shock in the Premier League’s history. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois – DK 4,100 Opponent – Norwich Goalkeepers receive five points for a clean sheet, five if their side wins the match but lose two points each time they concede a goal, therefore selecting a strong goalkeeper is important to succeed. Chelsea are the most likely winners of the sides playing on Tuesday, therefore Thibaut Courtois is the obvious choice in goal. Chelsea’s opponents, Norwich have failed to score in three of their last four matches and Chelsea have improved defensively since Guus Hiddink’s arrival, as a result there’s reason to believe that Courtois will keep a clean sheet against poor opposition.   Forwards Romelu Lukaku – DK 7,600 Opponent – Aston Villa Romelu Lukaku is not quite the most expensive striker this slate but he’s priced at $7,600 for good reason. First of all, he faces poor opposition in the form of Aston Villa who have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches. Secondly, he’s averaged 13.2 points per game this campaign and of the strikers available in this slate, only Jamie Vardy has averaged more. Goals are obviously crucial to success and Lukaku has scored 16 goals in his 26 appearances this season and two of those came in the reverse of this fixture earlier this season. Diego Costa – DK 7,000 Opponent – Norwich City As I mentioned earlier...

Daily Fantasy Soccer Picks for the English Premier League - DraftKings 2/27/16 Editor's note: Welcome Rob Banner who'll be covering Soccer (Football to all you Non-Americans) for us. Really excited to have him on board and you can give him a Twitter follow @RobBanner_ The League Cup final takes place on Sunday which is why there are only eight Premier League matches going down this weekend and my attention is firmly focused on Saturday’s 3pm Premier League slate. As you all probably know, DraftKings has been in the United Kingdom for a couple of weeks now. Since its arrival, I’ve been working hard trying to find the formula for success and things have started well and hopefully I can keep the good run going this weekend. Finally I should note that injuries are common in soccer and team news is only released an hour before kick-off, therefore you should ensure that each player is starting for the best results. We've got you completely covered.   Goalkeeper Jack Butland – DK 4,100 Opponent – Aston Villa In this slate there’s only one goalkeeper that stands out and that’s England’s Jack Butland who’s had an excellent season in goal for Stoke City, averaging 8.1 points per game. The goalkeeping position is the only position that receives points for a victory, therefore it makes sense to go with Butland who faces the worst side in the League at home, Aston Villa. Furthermore, goalkeepers also receive points when they keep a clean sheet and Villa are very poor going forward, they’ve scored just 20 goals this campaign, that’s fewer than any other Premier League side.   Forwards Jamie Vardy – DK 7,400 Opponent – Norwich City Having saved some funds by purchasing budget defenders, I’m splashing out on the most expensive forward of this slate, Jamie Vardy. He’s averaged 15.2 points per game this campaign and that’s been down to some outstanding finishing. He’s played in 26 matches and has scored 19 goals and comes into this fixture in pretty good form having score four goals in his last four games. It should be noted that Vardy faces the worst defence...
