Gander RV 400 This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads back to the Tricky Triangle for the second time for the Gander RV 400 this Sunday afternoon. This time around the track will be adding a layer of the PJ1 compound in an effort to once again create more passing and better overall racing. It will be applied to the high groove in turns one and three and in the middle groove in turn two. Hopefully the race turns out like last week where we saw a whopping 14 drivers make at least 50 green flag passes led by Ryan Newman(90) who had to start from the rear to begin with, had an engine go down that they repaired to get him back on track and ending up with an amazing 7th place finish. Speaking of the race at New Hampshire last weekend, we saw some very disappointing finishes from from Kyle Larson(33rd), Ricky Stenhouse Jr(36th), Jimmie Johnson(30th), Austin Dillon(32nd), and Clint Bowyer(20th) who are all winless and hovering around the playoff bubble with six races to go in the regular season. Let's take a look in and around the bubble heading into this final stretch(Top 16 make the Playoffs). 13th - Kyle Larson(519 points) 14th - Erik Jones(516 points) 15th - Ryan Newman(509 points) 16th - Clint Bowyer(505 points) 17th - Jimmie Johnson(488 points) 18th - Daniel Suarez(488 points) From a fantasy perspective, track position is very important as it is one of the highest correlated tracks when looking at start position to finish position. Taking it further we have seen seven of the Top 10 finishers coming from a Top 10 starting position in five of the last six races here. The one race we did see a ton of place differential was the second race here last year where more than a dozen drivers failed inspection and started in the rear. Looking at dominator points, only once in the last six races has a driver led 100 or more...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational

WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational After an incredible OPEN Championship in Northern Ireland, the top players in the world return to the United States for the final World Golf Championship of the season. This year presents a little bit of a change as this event which used to be the WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone CC is now the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind. The name may sound familiar as TPC Southwind has hosted the FedEx St. Jude Classic since 1989 and the only real difference here is the invitational status as 64 players will be teeing it up this week. This week's 64-player field includes eight of the Top 10(Tiger, Molinari missing) and 46 of the World's Top 50 players. Justin Thomas is the defending champion of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational but Dustin Johnson is the defending champion at TPC Southwind as he won the ST. Jude Classic a year ago with a winning score of -19 which was the lowest winning score here since 2003(David Toms @ -20). For the most part at TPC Southwind, we have seen winning scores in the -10 range as this course has ranked inside the Top 15 hardest courses on Tour over the last five years. The Par 70 setup is just over 7,200 yards has some very tight driving holes that produce a low average of about 55% driving accuracy rate for the field. Hitting the fairway is not crucial, however, like some other venues we have seen as the rough is not nearly as penal(2.5" approximately) but those who hit more fairways will put themselves in a better position to hit the smaller than average greens and drain birdies. With shorter, more playable rough combine with a low average driving accuracy for the field, it also makes sense to look at Rough Proximity this week. The most important...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – Foxwoods Resort Casino 301

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 With just seven race to go in the regular season, the race to the Monster Energy Cup Series Playoffs is really starting to heat up. The gap from 14th to 18th in the standings(Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer, Erik Jones, Ryan Newman, and Daniel Suarez) is just 12 points which means every single playoff point from here on out will be a battle. This is where I feel NASCAR really hit it out of the park is with the points system. In the old days, you would see drivers all the time let a faster car by in the hopes of getting that position back later in the race but now with the importance of points at the end of stages, no position is cakewalk anymore creating excellent racing throughout the pack and through the entire race. Buckle up as the final stretch before the playoffs is going to get intense! It all starts with a trip to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 on Sunday afternoon. For the first time in a while, we are back to "normal" race weekend with opening practice and qualifying on Friday with two final practices on Saturday. This week the series will also go back to the 750 hp package used on all road courses and ovals less than 1.25 miles. The racing won't be much different than previous races here so we can definitely look closer at track history this week. The only change is the PJ1 compound which is being put on the bottom groove and in lane 3 all the way up to the wall(similar last year but not all the way up to the wall). From a track-type standpoint, I have always looked at the other one-mile intermediates but Dover is a different animal with banking so I have also added flat track(short) rankings over the last two years as well. Despite there being no driver to lead 100 or more laps in last...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – Quaker State 400

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. Quaker State 400 After a wild Daytona race last week, things have really started to heat up when looking at the standings with eight races to go until the Playoffs. Ryan Newman is currently sitting in the final Playoff position with notables in Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and Paul Menard on the wrong side of the bubble. It is going to be a crazy ride down the stretch which is going to create some exciting racing for fans. Buckle up folks! This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Kentucky Speedway for the Quaker State 400 on Saturday night. It's the seventh mile and half track this season and sixth using the 2019 Rules Package. I have once again, added this data to the cheatsheet and also added it to the model as well. I will talk about some of these trends in the Track Type section below. One thing we have seen here since the Cup Series came to Kentucky back in 2011 is that starting up front is very important. The winner has come from the front row in three straight races and in five of the eight races here overall. Each of those five front row starters also led 75 or more laps in their win with four of them leading 150 or more laps. In an attempt to increase the passing with this new package, NASCAR and Kentucky Speedway will be laying down some PH1 "track bite". PJ1 will not only be used the next two weekends at Kentucky and New Hampshire but in hopes of improving the ability to pass, the traction compound will be used (along with the tire dragon) in all three turns in the upper groove at Pocono in a few weeks. #nascar — Bob Pockrass (@bobpockrass) July 8, 2019 Kentucky Speedway - Sparta, KY Track - 1.5 Mile D-Shaped Oval Intermediate 14° of Banking Last Six Winners at Kentucky 2018 - Martin Truex Jr.(started 1st, led 174 laps) 2017 -...

Coke Zero Sugar 400 Daytona International Speedway - Daytona Beach, FL Track - 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval Superspeedway 31° of Banking This week the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series heads back to Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 under the lights on Saturday night. It will be a very special race for some as it marks the final time the Daytona Summer race weekend will fall in or around Independence Day, a tradition that has been around since Fireball Roberts won the first summer race here back in 1959. The race will now host the regular season finale which, in my opinion, adds a ton of intrigue for not just the fans but the teams as well knowing it would essentially be a wildcard race with the Playoffs starting the final week and we know almost anyone can win here. When it comes to fantasy, qualifying is going to paint the picture as place differential points are King this week. There have been 10 or more drivers to pick up double-digit place differential in five straight races here and five or more drivers to start outside the Top 20 and finish Top 10 in two straight and four of the last five. The other element of superspeedway racing is working with teammates and/or like manufacturers in the draft leading to a stacking lineup construction. Last Six Winners at Daytona 2019 Daytona 500 - Denny Hamlin(started 10th) 2018 Summer - Erik Jones(started 29th) 2018 Daytona 500 - Austin Dillon(started 14th) 2017 Summer - Ricky Stenhouse Jr.(started 6th) 2017 Daytona 500 - Kurt Busch(started 8th) 2016 Summer - Brad Keselowski(started 5th) Weekend Schedule Practice #1 - Thursday @ 1:05 pm ET Practice #2 - Thursday @ 4:05 pm ET Qualifying - Friday @ 5:05 pm ET Race - Saturday @ 5:05 pm ET Track History at Daytona Denny Hamlin picked up his second career Daytona 500 win this Spring and is one of just three drivers in the field with multiple wins...

Toyota/Save Mart 350 Sonoma Raceway - Sonoma, CA Track - 1.99 Mile Road Course After an off-week for Father's Day, the Monster Energy Cup Series gets back on track for the first road course race of the season at Sonoma Raceway. The road courses are all unique in their own way with Sonoma tighter and more technical of the tracks. This year will also be different as Sonoma has brought back the "carousel" between turns three and seven for the first time since 1997 meaning no driver has raced this circuit in the Cup series. It adds a long sweeping left-hand turn into the drag strip straight away and adds another opportunity for passing going into Turn 7. It should make for some exciting racing for the fans and also add some strategy and setup issues for the race teams. Buckle up! Looking at the race from a fantasy perspective, finishing position is more important than ever with just 110 laps in the race. Only once in the last five races here at Sonoma has a driver led more than 50 laps and only twice in the last six races has there been more than two drivers to lead 20 or more laps. While you would think the correlation between starting and finishing position would be high on a track like this, it hasn't exactly been that way lately. We have seen sub .500 correlation here in two straight and three of the last four races here and five or fewer drivers starting Top 10 and finishing there in four of the last five races here. Let's take a look at some track and track type history with some form trends and then dig into the picks.
