Quaker State 400 Kentucky Speedway - Sparta, KY Track Length - 1.5 Mile D-Shaped Tri Oval Speedway This week NASCAR heads to Kentucky for the Quaker State 400. It is only the 5th Sprint Cup Series race to be held at Kentucky and we are already seeing a new rules package to prevent more down-force, thus creating more passing opportunities. The reason for the change? In the past four races here it has been very difficult to pass. Kyle Busch won the inaugural race and dominated by leading 125 laps then the next year he led 118 laps but lost the race late to Brad Keselowski. Matt Kenseth won the race here in 2013 after Jimmie Johnson dominated by leading 182 laps. Then last year Keselowski dominated for the win after leading 199 laps. NASCAR is trying to create more passing during the race to make it more exciting for the fans. Kentucky Speedway is one of the most rough and bumpy tracks on the circuit. Some drivers love the track while others definitely do not. When looking at the past four years results it is pretty easy to point out the drivers who like it vs. those who don't. In the past four races at Kentucky there is four drivers(Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Jeff gordon) who have finished inside the top 10 each time, and only 8 other drivers who have finished inside the top 10 twice. The new rules package might prohibit drivers from completely dominating and leading the majority of laps but I still feel the drivers who have had success here in the past will find a way again to get to the front and stay there. This week I will be including Fantasy Feud salaries to my article and cheatsheet. Fantasy Feud is offering two different types of daily fantasy games. First off they have a salary cap game much like DraftKings except you are working with a $1,000,000 salary cap. Who doesn't wanna play with more money? The second game they offer is a pro pick'em game. They give us four groups of...
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks – Coke Zero 400
Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Coke Zero 400 DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. Chris is selling three DraftKings lineup plus a cheatsheet for $5. Just scroll to the bottom of the picks. This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership. Coke Zero 400 Daytona International Speedway - Daytona Beach, FL Track Length - 2.5 Mile Trioval Superspeedway On a very long path to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs, Kyle Busch took care of the win portion on Sunday at Sonoma Raceway. On a late race pit strategy that saw Kyle with fresh tires take the lead and not look back finishing ahead of brother Kurt. Kyle now needs to average around a 14th place finish in the remaining regular season races to end up in the top 30 in points in order to use his win. It turned out to be a disappointing day for pole sitter AJ Allmendinger who, at lap 61 of the race, had to go into the garage to diagnose an issue that turned out to be a fuel system problem. He got back out onto the track to finish the race but was too many laps back to catch the field. There was a lot of contact at Sonoma putting a few drivers behind the wall early(Truex, Edwards) and getting them on the road to Daytona just a little earlier. Onto next week. The NASCAR haulers head out from California on a cross country road trip to Daytona Beach, Florida this week for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. The summer edition at Daytona presents 160 laps around this 2.5 mile Superspeedway. You may think the Daytona 500 in February would be a barometer of what to expect for the Coke Zero 400 but it's not. The track is much more slick in the summer and there is much more on the line with only 10 races left in the regular season. Aric Almirola took home last years rain shortened Coke Zero 400 putting the famous #43 in victory lane for the first time since 1999. The year before it was Jimmie Johnson becoming the first driver in 31 years to sweep both Daytona races in a season. It will be interesting to see how drivers and team go about strategy this week. The drivers who have wins won't have to push hard and could...

This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership. Toyota Save Mart 350 Sonoma Raceway - Sonoma, CA After a week holiday NASCAR returns for some road course action at Sonoma Raceway. In the previous 10 years there has been 10 different winners. Can you say Parity? There will be a lot of teams coming into this race looking to book their ticket into the Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs which should make for an exciting race to watch. Track position is absolutely key here as their are minimal passing opportunities. Pay very close attention to qualifying this week as no driver in the previous 5 years that averages a starting position outside the Top 20 has averaged a finishing position inside the Top 20. The restarts at Sonoma can be a recipe for disaster and multi car crashes as drivers make their own passing lanes trying to gain positions before the cars get spread out. It is usually the finesse drivers who are easier on the tires in the long runs who come out on top here. Below I will point out my favorite plays broken down by Draftkings Salary Tiers. Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $11,000-$13,900) Jeff Gordon - $11,300 Vegas Odds - 6/1 Sprint Cup Standings – 10th Qualified - 5th My mother would be proud of me on this day. I mentioned her favorite driver at the top of my article. Well this week is definitely a week I target the #24 team. In the past 5 years Gordon has finished in the Top 10 every time and the Top 5 in 4 of the races. He also holds 5 career wins at the track. He is one of the drivers looking to get that win that will lock him into the Chase Playoffs. Add the fact he is the 6th most expensive driver on Draftkings and you have yourself a #1 pick. Jimmie Johnson - $13,100 Vegas Odds - 11/1 Sprint Cup Standings – 5th Qualified - 13th When making a Stars & Scrubs GPP lineup this week Jimmie would be a great choice for your first star. He is the only other driver besides Gordon to record 5...
Draftkings Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks – Quicken Loans 400

Want to see how these picks and more fit into lineups for the Quicken Loans 400? Chris is selling his lineups plus a cheatsheet for $5. Just click the link below. This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership. Quicken Loans 400 Michigan International Speedway - Brooklyn, MI Welcome back for another week of Daily Fantasy Nascar. Pocono is in the rearview and the Hendrick Motorsports team streak of wins there ended at 5. Jimmie Johnson ended up being the only Hendrick driver to post a Top 10(3rd). The big winner on the day was Martin Truex Jr. He has been sniffing for that win all season and finally got it for the Furniture Row Racing team. Shout out to his crew chief as well. Canadian Cole Pearn earned his first Nascar victory as a crew chief. When looking at the Draftkings results last week it was a successful cash game week but faultered on the GPP side as I had shares of Newman and Stenhouse throughout most of my lineups. The biggest thing I noticed about the GPP tournaments on Draftkings last week was that the most successful lineups were heavy stars and scrubs. The majority of the top lineups were compiled of three stars and two scrubs. This is a strategy that is risky but definitely can pay off. The winning lineup in the "Slingshot" had Landon Cassill, Ty Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., and Matt Kenseth. Going into the race I would not have felt comfortable with that at all. Needless to say I will be trying this strategy out this week. This week Nascar and it's teams head Michigan International Speedway for the Quicken Loans 400. Michigan rates as the fastest track on the circuit running 2 miles long with 18 degree banking. The track provides drivers with 3 or sometimes 4 different lines to run as the track is 73 feet wide. The race here frequently turns into a fuel mileage race as the laps run long and there seems to always be plenty of green flag racing. In last years races in Michigan starting position proved very important as 6 drivers(Spring Race) and 7 drivers(Fall Race) that finished in the Top started there. Qualifying will be very important this week so be sure to check my article for updates on Saturday after qualifying and practices are over. Tier 1 Targets...
Draftkings Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks – Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400
Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 Pocono Raceway - Long Pond, PA The Nascar haulers have left Dover and headed north to Long Pond, Pennsylvania for this weekends Nascar Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway. The track has been nicknamed "The Tricky Triangle" as the track is a 2.5 miles with 3 completely different and unique corners. Teamwork is crucial between driver and crew chief throughout the race to make the correct changes to try and be efficient in all 3 corners which is a tall task. Pocono has kind of become the home for Hendrick Motorsports in recent years. Dale Jr. swept both races here last year, Kahne and Jimmie won the 2 races in 2013 and Jeff Gordon in the Fall of 2012. That's 5 straight wins for HMS at Pocono. Oh, and Jeff Gordon has the most career wins here with 6. WOW! With this being the 75th running of a Nascar race at Pocono Raceway you can bet Hendrick will come with all they got again and try and make it 6 straight. One takeaway from last week, concerning strategy, is that with the low number of choices in Nascar(43) it makes for a tremendous amount of overlapping lineups in the larger GPP tournaments. I have decided to change my initial strategy until my Nascar bankroll is to the point where I can efficiently multi enter the larger tournaments. I will be playing a cash linuep and using the same lineup in some 3 man leagues and head to heads. I will then be entering some smaller leagues with GPP only lineups and selecting 1 or 2 to enter in the larger field tournaments. We will see how this goes. I will post results in next weeks article. I am really concentrating on recording my results to find the best strategy possible. Now on to the picks for this week: Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $12,200-$14,000) Dale Earnhardt Jr. - $12,200 Vegas Odds - 7.5/1 Sprint Cup Standings – 5th Qualified - 20th How could I not have Dale Jr. in the #1 spot this week. The guy swept both races here in 2014 and finished Top 5 in both races in 2013. I his last 6 races here he has 2 wins, 4 Top 5's, 5 Top 10's, & an average finish of 8.3. When Dale has figured out a track he is...
Draftkings Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks – Fedex 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks
Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Fedex 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Fedex 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks Dover International Speedway – Dover, Delaware Welcome back to week 2 of the DFS Nascar season on Draftkings. Week 1 , for me, went pretty well overall. I cashed 2 of my lineups and ended up just above even money for the race. There is going to be a learning curve for DFS Nascar as there was for every sport when it was first introduced. First of all, realizing that every week is a different animal is key. This is my favorite part about Daily Fantasy Sports. No matter what happened yesterday you can start over today. There are plenty of DFS players out there who let yesterdays results affect today's decision making. Getting your brain trained to wipe previous results from your memory is a hard thing to do. I am currently working on a prototype memory erasing machine much like the one in the Men in Black movie. When I am done with it I will be sure to share it with you all. Another key thing to learn from Nascar Fantasy is that no matter how good a driver is at a certain track or track type anything can happen during a race that can affect ANY driver at ANY time. A great example of this happened last weekend. Jimmy Johnson was fast in practice and is dominant on 1.5 Mile tracks yet he spun twice and eventually hit wall and posted a DNF. There is no way to tell who is going to get in a wreck, blow an engine, hit the wall, etc.. This is part of the fun of watching the race! If we knew exactly what was going happen all time we wouldn't watch. Before diving in to this weeks race at Dover here are a few takeaways regarding DFS scoring for Nascar that I noticed. First, finishing order is way over rated. The winning lineup of the Draftkings $3 Slingshot Tournament had Biffle(2nd), Kurt Busch(10th), Elliot(18th), Kahne(12th), & Truex(5th). There were plenty of other lineups who had a better 6 driver finishing position but were not close to the top of leaderboard. Why you ask? As I stated in my opening article last week, there are more points in a drivers score than just finishing position. For instance, the top 2 drivers in Draftkings points were K. Busch(100) & Truex(111). No other driver came close...
