Here is a quick recap of the final race at Homestead. As a Kyle Busch fan , I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. As with anyone who has watched a NASCAR race in their life knows, Kyle has elite talent when it comes to driving a race car. The issue has always been between the ears. After a life changing accident at this very track last year he was forced to miss a chunk of the season during rehab. It was the time away and the birth of his first child that seemed to have changed Kyle and push him to return and win his first championship. I can't wait to see what he can do next. The 2015 season was also the end of Jeff Gordons's incredible racing career. It was only fitting he was a part of the Final Four contending for yet another championship. He came up just short in the final race but will be remembered for the huge collection of achievements in his career. In his 24 years in the sport he has picked up 93 wins which is 3rd all time to Richard Petty(200) and David Pearson(105). He has claimed 4 Championships(Winston Cup back in the day) which is 4th all time to Richard Petty(7), Dale Earnhardt(7), and his long time teammate Jimmie Johnson(6). He has been an incredible ambassador for the sport and will never be forgotten. Below is a great little tribute video to Jeff.   Now onto the new season and the "Great American Race". In no other sport is the opening event/game...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for DraftKings & FantasyFeud – Ford EcoBoost 400

Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Ford EcoBoost 400 DFSR is proud to bring you Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly NASCAR picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings & FantasyFeud. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Ford EcoBoost 400 Homestead-Miami Speedway - Homestead, Florida 18° - 20° Banking in the Turns In another controversial finish, Dale Earnhardt Jr. won a rain shortened Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 on Sunday. The race was delayed several hours before starting due to track drying efforts and when we finally got going it was Kevin Harvick jumping to an early lead and was out front for 143 laps in total. On lap 195 Dale Jr. made a pit stop for fuel and tires and while on pit road the caution flew for a crash on the track. Earnhardt Jr. beat Harvick to the start/finish line and when the other cars pitted, the #88 became the leader. We never did see another restart as NASCAR called the race due to rain. Harvick ended up finishing 2nd and advanced to the final 4 with Kyle Busch(Finished 4th), Jeff Gordon(Finished 6th), and Martin Truex Jr.(Finished 14th). The four drivers who didn't get a shot to advance due to the rain were pretty upset about the call and I don't blame them. NASCAR has definitely made(and not made) some suspect calls this Chase and will be heavily scrutinized in the offseason. No matter what happened in the previous 9 Chase races we are in for a great race on Sunday. First of all, as a Kyle Busch fan, I am extremely excited to see his maturity this season after returning from an injury. He will have his first shot at Homestead to capture a Sprint Cup Championship. Next we have Jeff Gordon's final race in NASCAR and what better way to end a great career than to race for a championship. No matter how it plays out it will be an emotional end to one of the greatest drivers NASCAR has ever seen. Then we have the defending champion Kevin Harvick. He has been the most consistent driver in NASCAR this season. He now has 27 Top 10's, 22 Top 5's, 3 wins and only finished outside the Top 20 four times. Finally, we have Martin Truex Jr. playing the role of the underdog in the Final Four. Furniture Row Racing is a smaller one car team and has risen to the elite in NASCAR thanks to Truex Jr's driving ability this season. He only picked up the one win at Pocono Raceway but has 22 Top 10 finishes leading up to this race....

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for DraftKings & FantasyFeud – Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500

Click Here to Purchase Lineups and Cheatsheet     Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 Phoenix International Raceway - Avondale, AZ Track Type/Length - 1 Mile Tri Oval Paved Short Track 9° - 11° Banking in the Turns Brad Keselowski dominated the first 95% of the race at Texas, leading 312 laps and looked poised to grab the win and advance on to the final four at Homestad. This was until a late restart with 10 laps to go. Keselowski got out front when the green flag dropped but not for long as the 5 time Texas winner, Jimmie Johnson showed in the #2's rear view mirror pressing hard to make the pass and finally did picking up his 6th win at the track. The runner up leaves Keselowski outside the Chase Bubble, 19 points behind 4th place Martin Truex Jr. and leaving him with an almost must win situation at Phoenix. The same can be said for teammate Joey Logano who had early tire issues and ended up in 40th. He will join Kurt Busch, sitting in 7th place in the Chase standings, as drivers who will need to win this weekend. This week NASCAR and the final 8 drivers in the Chase for the Sprint Cup head to Phoenix International Raceway for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500. It will be the final elimination race before the finale at Homestead, Miami where we will see a champion crowned. The track is a 1 mile tri oval short track that is fairly flat through the corners with between 9 & 11 degrees of banking. This is going to be another very important track position race as it is very tough to pass here at Phoenix. It should also be noted that it is usually one driver who leads a majority of the laps and that driver, ladies and gentlemen, is Kevin Harvick. I am pretty sure they are changing the name of the track to "Harvick's Place" if he wins here again. We will dig into Harvick a little deeper very shortly. For now you should...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for DraftKings & FantasyFeud – AAA Texas 500

Click Here to Purchase Lineups and Cheatsheet     AAA Texas 500 Texas Motor Speedway - Fort Worth, TX Track Type/Length - 1.5 Mile Quad Oval Paved Intermediate Track 24° Banking in the Turns The Goody's Headache Relief 500 at Martinsville was another great race and again finished with some hurt feelings. Joey Logano and teammate Brad Keselowski combined to lead 350 laps but both were involved in late race contact with Matt Kenseth and finished outside the top 30. It's too bad that Matt Kenseth wrecking Joey Logano while he leading the race has over shadowed one of the best wins of the year. Jeff Gordon, in his final season in NASCAR, picked up his 93rd career win at Martinsville. It was his first win of the 2015 season, and no better time than in the Chase where he is now locked into the final four at Homestead. For me, even as a Kyle Busch fan, it was the best moment of the NASCAR season seeing Jeff Gordon win that race and act like a teenager in Victory Lane. I am also a big fan of narrative street and seeing Jeff Gordon win the Championship in his final season would be a Hollywood script. Race #2 in the Eliminator Round takes us to Fort Worth, Texas for the AAA Texas 500 on Sunday. Texas Motor Speedway is 1.5 Mile Intermediate track with 24 degree banking in the corners. It is one of the fastest non Superspeedway tracks in NASCAR and always produces good racing for the fans. Track position in qualifying won't be as crucial this week as there has been at least five drivers who have finished inside the top 10 each of the last five races who started outside the top 10. We will really want to concentrate on selecting drivers who are showing speed in practice and have nice consecutive 10 lap averages. As of writing this Matt Kenseth as been suspended for two races for wrecking Joey Logano. There will still be an appeal process so be sure to check the news leading up to the race...

Click Here to Purchase Lineups and Cheatsheet     Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 Martinsville Speedway - Ridgeway, VA Track Type/Length - .526 Mile Oval Short Track 12° Banking in the Turns Another wild ending Sunday that involved Joey Logano. He chose the top lane on a late Green-White-Checker finish and on the restart Jimmie Johnson spun out which brought on a caution flag before the start/finish line. Even though NASCAR changed the rule to 1 attempt at a G-W-C, they issued a second attempt anyway. On the second restart Kevin Harvick had engine issues and attempted to slide up the track and out of the way. In the process he took out Trevor Bayne and caused the race ending crash. This gave Joey Logano the win, by inches, over Dale Earnhardt JR. who needed a win to advance. The race ending wreck also affected Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth who were both eliminated while Harvick will advance. This is where the conspiracy theories enter the picture. Hamlin and Kenseth both voiced their thoughts post race and they were not the only ones upset(JR. Nation!). No matter what our thoughts on the matter are, NASCAR has ruled no intent and no penalty will be issued. We now move on to the Eliminator Round where the final 8 drivers will fight for the final 4 positions and their shot at the Championship come Hometead, Miami. For the first race in round 3, NASCAR will head to Ridgeway, VA for a short track race at Martinsville Speedway. The track is a .526 mile short track and has been compared to and called the "Paperclip". This could be one of the most entertaining races to date in the Chase for many reasons. First, its short track racing and their is a lot of beating and banging. Add to it the fact that there could be many drivers looking for revenge with a "it was short track racing" excuse, and we could have some fireworks. Second, we are down to 8 drivers in the Chase and tensions will rise as there are 3 races...

Of course, both seen the incident differently but even NASCAR chairman Brian France backed Joey and said it was a racing move. I have to agree as Kenseth spent most of the final lap blocking the #22 all over the track. No matter how you view the incident it is now over and Kenseth is faced with a win or go home scenario this week. Rounding out the top 5 were Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kane and Kyle Busch. As it stands right now Kyle Busch(-6), Ryan Newman(-8), Dale Jr(-31), and Matt Kenseth(-36) sit outside the the top eight, the position needed to advance into the Eliminator Round. The second elimination race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup will take place at the world famous Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. Tension will be high as only Joey Logano and the winner of the race will be automatically advancing into the next round. Talladega is a super fast track where we see a lot of drafting and tons of lead changes. Drivers will be trying to keep their cars in tact until the final few laps where they can make their moves and work their way to the front for a shot at the win. The "big one" can happen at any time and can threaten the chances of any driver moving on so expect full concentration along with some aggressive, desperation moves from some drivers. This is going to be an exciting elimination race. As there is no such thing a safe option this week I would suggest putting together multiple cash game lineups if you are playing cash games this weekend.
