The Monster Energy Cup Series takes a week off this week before heading to Sonoma Raceway next weekend but don't worry as we have some exciting Xfinity series racing to keep us going. Adding to the excitement is the fact there will be no Cup drivers in this week's race which keeps the salaries tighter together at the top and creates a much better lineup construction process. This week the Xfinity Series heads to Iowa Speedway for the Iowa 250 which will take place on Sunday evening starting at 5:00 p.m. ET. The track is a .875-mile short track and the series visits here twice a year which is nice when looking for statistics as we have a nice sample size of data to go through on the sheet. Looking at that data, the first thing that stood out to me is that each of the last six winners have come from a starting position of 6th or better and three times from the front row. Dominator points will be key as there has been at least one(two in the last race) driver to lead 100 or more laps and four times it was the winner of the race. Place differential is largely dependant on qualifying but for the most part, it has been irrelevant here as only once there has been more than five drivers to pick up double-digit place differential and only twice have more than three done it. The other thing to keep in mind is that in the Xfinity Series they run same day qualifying and this week we will get a window of about an hour and a half following qualifying before lineup lock. Before getting into the pre-qualifying picks for this week let's take a look at the weekend schedule. Practice #1 - Saturday, June 16 @3:05 p.m. ET Practice #2 - Saturday, June 16 @5:40 p.m. ET Qualifying - Sunday, June 17 @2:35 p.m. ET Race - Sunday, June 17 @5:00 p.m. ET Last Six Winners at Iowa Speedway Ryan Preece(started 1st,...

We've got you completely covered.   FireKeepers Casino 400 Michigan International Speedway Track - Two-Mile D-Shaped Oval Intermediate Welcome back race fans. Things are starting to heat up as the narrative is changing fast in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Last year's champion, Martin Truex Jr, picked up his second win of the season and joins the elite class with Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick who have dominated the first third of the season with nine wins between them. Even seven-time champions, Jimmie Johnson, is starting to heat up with five Top 10 finishes in his last seven races. This week the Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers Casino 400 this Sunday afternoon. As you can see below, Kyle Larson has owned this track lately with three straight wins here and has done it from the 9th and 12th starting positions as well as form the pole in last year's Spring race. The track is a two-mile oval intermediate track that produces some of the top speeds in NASCAR as cars will exceed 200+ mph on the straightaways. While there are only 200 laps in the race, we will be looking at building around a couple dominators as there has been three instances where a driver has led over 100 laps in the last six races. While we rarely seen multiple drivers lead 50 or laps, that changed last season with the start of stage racing as both races had two drivers do so. As always, place differential will come down to qualifying which is on Friday afternoon so be sure to check back for my picks video posted below after final practice. You can also check on my cheatsheeet where I list my top plays when looking at dominators, place differential, GPP pivots, and value plays. Let's now jump in and take a look at some trends here at Michigan and then some pre-qualifying targets. Last Six Winners at Michigan International Speedway 2017(2) - Kyle Larson(started 9th, led 2 laps) 2017(1) - Kyle Larson(started 1st, led 96 laps) 2016(2) - Kyle Larson(started 12th, led 41 laps) 2016(1) - Joey...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – Pocono 400

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered.   Pocono 400 Pocono Raceway - Long Pond, PA Track - 2.5 Mile Intermediate After looking at the practice data, I sure didn't see the domination that Kyle Busch laid down coming last weekend at Charlotte. He swept all three stages, led 377 of 400 laps and won his fourth race of the season and it was big for a couple reasons. First of all, it gives him 25 playoff points which will come in handy once the postseason begins and even bigger it gives Busch a win at every track he has raced on in the Cup series making him the only driver in history to do so. Kevin Harvick had to start from the back and with that was the highest owned driver and as anticipated made it inside the Top 10 within the first stage only to run over some debris, hit the wall, and exit the race at lap 83. This week the Monster Energy Cup Series travels to the Tricky Triangle for the Pocono 400 this Sunday afternoon. Pocono Raceway is one of the most unique tracks in NASCAR with three turns, all different from one another with anywhere from six to 14 degrees of banking. What makes it the most difficult for crew chiefs and teams is the balanced setup that is needed for a driver to have a good car throughout all the turns which makes for some exciting racing. From a fantasy perspective, with just 160 laps, there is much less emphasis on dominator points and the results prove that point. Over the last six races here, only once has a driver led 100 laps and it was Kyle Busch in this race last year and on top of that, there has only been one driver in five of the last six races to lead 50 or more laps. Place differential has been tough to come by as well as there have been seven or fewer drivers to pick up double-digit place differential in five of the last six races. What does this all mean? Track position is key and is even more emphasized since the...

We've got you completely covered.   Coca-Cola 600 Charlotte Motor Speedway - Concord, NC Track - 1.5 Mile Intermediate If racing is your thing, this is the weekend for you! It is most definitely one of the biggest race weekends of the entire year and it starts with the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, followed by the Indianapolis 500, and the day closes out with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600. It is the first of two points-paying races here at Charlotte during the season with the second coming in the Playoffs. The difference in the two races is that the fall race is a 501-mile race with 334 laps while this race is 600 miles and the longest race of the season as it starts during the late afternoon and then finishes under the lights. From a fantasy perspective, we will most definitely be looking at nailing down a dominator in this race with 400 laps available to lead. Looking back at the last six Charlotte races(Playoff races included), there has been just one driver to lead 100 or more laps in five of the six races and two drivers to it in just one race(2015 Coca-Cola 600). It is also noteworthy to mention that in each of the last two Coca-Cola 600's we have seen a driver lead 200 or more laps, both being Martin Truex Jr.(625 laps led total in those two races). Place differential is very much reliant on qualifying as it has been up and down here at Charlotte with as many as 16 and as few as one driver picking up double-digit totals. Stay tuned for the post-qualifying picks on the cheatsheet as well as my weekly picks video on YouTube that will be posted below. Let's now jump in and take a look at some race trends and pre-qualifying targets. Last Six Winners at Charlotte Motor Speedway 2017 Playoffs - Martin Truex Jr.(started 17th, led 91 laps) 2017 Coca-Cola 600 - Austin Dillon(Started 22nd, led 2 laps) 2016 Playoffs - Jimmie Johnson(started 11th, led 155 laps) 2016 Coca-Cola 600 - Martin Truex Jr.(started 1st, led 392 laps) 2015 Playoffs - Joey Logano(started...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – KC Masterpiece 400

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered.   KC Masterpiece 400 Kansas Speedway - Kansas City, KS Track - 1.5 Mile D-Shaped Oval Intermediate It was the Ford camp once again dominating last week as Brad Keselowski led 108 laps early on followed by Kevin Harvick with 201 laps led on his way to his fourth win of the season. For Stewart-Haas, it was another impressive team effort as Clint Bowyer finished 2nd, Kurt Busch finished 5th, and Aric Almirola finished 11th. Three Toyota's(Daniel Suarez-3rd, Martin Truex Jr.-4th, Denny Hamlin-7th) finished inside the Top 10 and it could have been four if not for a broken driveshaft on the #18 car of Kyle Busch who showed he had a Top 3 car. The Top Chevrolet's in the race were Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Larson who finished 9th and 10th respectively. This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway for the KC Masterpiece 400 on Saturday night. It is the first mile and a half track the series has visited in over a month and for most of the drivers, they probably wish the break was longer. Kevin Harvick won at Atlanta and Las Vegas and was runner-up to Kyle Busch at Texas and Martin Truex Jr. finished Top 5 in Atlanta and Las Vegas and if not for a crash at Texas, might have competed for a win or at least a third Top 5. Looking at the fantasy numbers, we are once again going to be building our core around dominator drivers as there has been one driver to lead 100 or more laps in five straight races here and multiple drivers lead 50 or more laps in four straight and five of the last six races here. While that strategy is fairly similar to last week, one thing that changes is the potential for place differential as passing is a little bit easier here than it was in Dover where only two drivers picked up double-digit place differential. Looking at the two races last year here at Kansas, there were 12 and 11 drivers who picked up double-digit place differential with stage racing obviously playing a...
