Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FantasyAces – Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FantasyAces - Shriners Hospitals for Children Open DFSR is proud to bring you Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly PGA picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings and FantasyAces. Shriners Hospitals for Children Open TPC Summerlin - Las Vegas, Nevada Par 71 - 7,255 Yards After a runner up at the CIMB Classic, Hideki Matsuyama continued his torrid place to open the 2016-2017 season. He dominated the loaded field last weekend , winning by seven strokes, en route to his 3rd PGA Tour victory. He also became the first ever Asian born player to win a WGC event and in doing so moved up from 10th to 6th in the Official World Golf Rankings. This week the PGA Tour heads to Sin City for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. TPC Summerlin was built into the desert terrain of Las Vegas back in 1991 and has been the annual home of this tournament since 2008. It is a 7,255 yard, Par 71 setup that is full of elevation changes and challenges golfers who are not accurate off the tee as there are a ton of native areas that can lead to penalty strokes. The greens are larger than normal and very undulating putting more emphasis on Proximity over Greens in Regulation. There are also over 100 bunkers which will have me weight Scrambling and Sand Save % a little higher this week. Last years winning score(-16) was lower than it usually is with an average winning score around -20 over the past 5+ years. With DraftKings scores expected to be higher than normal I will be heavily weighting Birdie or Better %, Par 4 and 5 Scoring. Le's dig in and take a look at some of the top plays this week. If you have any questions leading up to lineup lock Thursday morning you can reach me in a variety of ways. Leave a Q below in the comment section and I will get you an answer. You can hit me up in the new chatroom here at DFSR(It's crazy busy with NFL talk so try and private message me for specific PGA Q's). I am also always available on Twitter(@jager_bombs9). Good luck this week! High End Targets ($9,000+) John Rahm World Golf Ranking (129) Vegas Odds (34/1) Draftkings ($9,800) FantasyAces ($5,500) He turned pro this past summer and ended up earning his PGA Tour card for this season. Even more impressive, he did this without a trip to Q school or the Web.com Tour and showed he can contend with the bog boys early and often. He started his impressive run with a T23 at the US Open in...

The CIMB Classic wrapped up on Sunday with Justin Thomas proving he is one of the best players in the world. He defended his title in the place where he captured his first PGA Tour last season and did it in style. He closed with an impressive final round 64 coming from four shots back to take the trophy. It wasn't all smooth sailing for Thomas as he ran into a wall on Saturday going Bogey, Double Bogey, Bogey on holes 10 through 12 but showed resilience but paring the 13th and finishing the back nine with five straight birdies to get back into contention. In two CIMB Classics Thomas has has now gone a whopping -49 under par. Can we place bets on next year yet? If you missed the final round check out the highlights below courtesy of PGATour.com: This week the PGA Tour travels North from Malaysia to Shanghai, China for the first World Golf Championship event of the season. Sheshan International Golf Club will host the HSBC Champions for the 7th time(was held at Missions Hills GC in 2012). It is a Par 72 that stretches 7,261 yards. I will be looking at Total Driving as both distance and accuracy are important. Two of the Par 5's are reachable in two by the entire field while the other two will be layup holes for most of the field besides the bombers. Accuracy will be important off the tee on the Par 4's with doglegs that require proper placement to have any chance at getting a green in regulation and birdie chance. On top of that I will be looking at Scrambling and Sand Save % a bit more this week as there are a ton of bunkers, especially around the green. As always I will be weighting Birdie or Better % and Bogey Avoidance as they both correlate closely with fantasy scoring. If you have any...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets CIMB Classic TPC Kuala Lumpur (West) Par 72 - 6,951 Yards After a soggy Safeway Open it was Brendan Steele shooting an impressive final round 65 to take home the first tournament of the year. He did so by hitting Greens in Regulation at a 64.3% clip while the average for the field sat at 53%. It was Steele's second career win and first since the 2011 season. On to next week where we hopefully have some better weather. This week the PGA Tour packs up and heads across the pond to Malaysia for the 2016/2017 CIMB Classic. The host course is TPC Kuala Lumpur which was formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club. It is short Par 72 course coming in just under 7,000 yards with average greens and some real mind tests for the golfers. There are some well placed bunkers which will force a lot of players to club back off the tee to hit the right spots to present attainable approach shots. There are also some risk/reward Par 4's that are driveable by most but will punish you if you miss in the wrong areas. Last year Justin Thomas won with Adam Scott finishing runner up. Both ranked worse than 150th in Driving Accuracy at the end of the season. The year before that Ryan Moore won with Kevin Na right behind him. Both ranked worse than 145th in Driving Distance with Moore ranking 11th in Accuracy and Na 84th. What does this tell us? Neither stat is going to be a great indicator of success this week. Because of this I will be concentrating on Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, Par 5 Scoring , Birdie or Better % and Bogey Avoidance. Let's dig in to some top picks this week. Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets Safeway Open Silverado Country Club - Napa, CA Par 72 - 7,203 Yards After an exciting FedEX Cup playoffs and thrilling Ryder Cup the short off PGA Tour off season has come to an end. Did you blink? If so, you might have missed it. Since the Tour introduced the wrap around season it gives us fantasy golf enthusiasts exactly what we want. More golf! Last season was my first "full time" year in the writing and tout game and while the results were up and down from a playing standpoint, the picks were rock solid throughout the year. Don't believe me? Check out the 2015 Daily Overlay end of year rankings for all the sites that posted free picks throughout the year. I am never satisfied with my results unless I am winning every week and that's pretty much impossible. During the off season I sat down and first went through my spreadsheet to analyze what worked in the weighted rankings and what didn't. Through this fall(wrap around) season you may see some dramatic changes week to week as I get ready for the "real" season to begin in January. If you ever have any suggestions please email me or hit me up on Twitter anytime. The next thing I did from a personal standpoint was analyze my own lineups and roster construction. This is where I failed the most last year. I spent so much time in the prep of the cheatsheet, article, podcasts and video chats that I neglected the biggest part of DFS success, lineup building. I read articles, talked to some smart people, and made notes on a strategy moving forward. I am going to get back into cash games this year as I feel I can accurately predict cut makers on a large year long scale. I will also be playing less GPP lineups and concentrating most of my effort in single entry and 3 entry max tournaments as I just don't have the time to multi enter 10+ lineups on a weekly basis. This may change here and there, especially...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets TOUR Championship East Lake Golf Club - Atlanta, GA Par 70 - 7,307 Yards The 2016 PGA Tour season will come to a close this weekend following the TOUR Championship from East Lake Golf Club. After three tournaments and five weeks of playoffs it all comes down to 30 golfers vying for the $10,000,000 prize and FedEx Cup Championship. The Top 5 golfers(Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Paul Casey) will control their own destinies and take home the FedEx Cup with a win. All 30 golfers have a shot to win with about a million possible scenarios. If you want to check them out and dig deeper check them out HERE. With just 30 golfers in the field this week I will be and I recommend to lower your exposure to this DFS event. There will be a ton of overlapping lineups with a lot of cash being split. The good news is the off season for golf is very short with the 2016/17 regular season kicking off two weeks after the Ryder Cup at the Safeway Open. If you are playing multiple lineups this week a great way to separate yourself in the larger field tournies is too leave some salary on the table. I normally do about 20 lineups in my GPP's I enter and this week will do just five with a core four or five golfers and a few fill ins. I will be once again simplifying my model which has worked great in the closing stretch of the season. I will be weighting Strokes Gained Off the Tee and Approach the most with Par 4 & 5 Scoring and BoB% right there as well. If you have any questions leading up to lineup lock Thursday morning you can reach me in a variety of ways. Leave a Q below in the comment section and I will get you an answer. Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets BMW Championship Crooked Stick Golf Club - Carmel, IN Par 71 - 7,297 Yards It appears Rory McIlroy has found the putting stroke. He lead the field in Putters per GIR and was 7th in Strokes Gained: Putting en route to his big win at the Deutsche Bank Championship this past Labour Day weekend. I'll admit I was terrified of his putting going into the week and all out faded him in my lineups. I paid dearly and it was just another instance proving that putting can come and go at the snap of your fingers. If you missed the final round highlights from the Deutsche Bank Championship I included a short video form PGA Tour Youtube below. We are now down to two remaining tournaments and 70 golfers vying for the 10 million dollar prize and FedEx Cup title. This week the rotating course schedule for the BMW Championship takes us to Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana. The course is a 7,516 yard Par 72 that was designed by Pete Dye back in 1965. Crooked Stick last hosted the BMW Championship in 2012 when none other than last weeks winner Rory McIlroy prevailed. I will be weighing course history quite low this week and only looking at the 2012 results and stats fro those players on my cheatsheet. When faced with a Pete Dye course with no back to back holes running in the same direction I weigh Strokes Gained: Off theTee right near the top. Looking at 2012, Rory won with a score of -20 overall and was -9 on the Par 4's and -11 on Par 5's. Six players inside the Top 10 were double digits below par on the Par 5's and only one player was worse than -4 on the Par 4's for the week. I will weigh Par 5 scoring a bit more but both will be heavily weighted this week. There are only 69 players in this weeks field as Henrik Stenson will be sitting out to get a two week break before the Tour Championship. The weather for the...
