FedEx St. Jude Classic Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy golf. It was Jason Dufner taking home the trophy last week at the Memorial with a winning score of -13. How did he do it? He led the field in Strokes Gained Approach(2.67) and in Strokes Gained Tee to Green(4.14). In fact, if he could have putt at all(-.095 SG: Putt) he would have won by a lot more as no other golfer gained over three strokes to the field in SG:T2G. Either way, it was awesome to see that huge fist pump and celebration. Miss the final round? Check out the highlights below. This week the PGA Tour travels to Memphis, Tennessee for the FedEx St. Jude Classic. It has been hosted by it's current venue, TPC Southwind, since 1989 so we have a ton of course history to look at(My cheatsheet only looks at last 5 years). The course is a Par 70 with just two Par 5's, Four Par 3's, and 12 Par 4's. The Par 5 third hole is reachable in two but presents golfers with a challenge if they elect to go for it as there is water to the right and sand to the left of the small green. The Par 5 16th hole is a dogleg left that has produced almost double the Eagles and around 50 more birdies per year over the past three years. The scoring stays the same but you will no longer have to designate rounds 1-2 or 3-4 for your golfers. Just pick eight golfers and go! If you thought getting 6/6 through the cut on DraftKings was somewhat of a challenge, get ready for the new challenge on FanDuel of getting 8/8 through to the weekend. I am guessing the %'s will be very low putting a huge spotlight on balancing safety with upside. I can't wait to give it a whirl as I quickly lost interest the first time around. This week the PGA Tour travels to Muirfield Village Golf Club, better known as Jack's Place which is annually ranked inside the Top 20 golf course's in America and Top 50 in the World. The Memorial tournament has been hosted at Muirfield Village GC each year since the first one in 1976. It is a Par 72 that stretches out to just under 7,400 yards but automatically think that this a bombers paradise. Last year there were four golfers inside the Top 10 that finished inside the Top 10 in Driving Distance(for the year) but three of the Top 4 fell outside the Top 118 in distance. In 2015, there were only two golfers inside the Top 10 who finished the season Top 10 in Driving Distance and just one in 2014. I found this somewhat odd at first glance seeing as there are seven Par 4 holes on the course that stretch out over 447 yards but the stats don't lie. The Par 5's also all sit between 527 and 563 yards which make them accessible in two by almost the entire field. Let's quickly take a look at the course details and past five winners...

This automatically thrusts Par 4 Scoring into the spotlight and will be my key stat for the week. Behind that, I am looking at Par 5 BoB% as not only will golfers need to birdie these holes but Hole one also produced eight or more eagles in each of the last three years, four coming from players inside the Top 10 last season. With the smaller than average greens we will see the average GIR % down putting an emphasis on Scrambling and SG: Around the Green. Those who can gain strokes on the field with their approaches will be the ones who will frequent the leaderboard come Sunday so I will be looking, very close, as always, at SG:APP. As you will see with the early weather update at the bottom of the article it is projected to be windy all four days so make sure to check out the FutureofFantasy Breakdown of Top Wind Players. AT&T Byron Nelson The Course TPC Four Seasons Resort - Los Colinas, TX Par 70 - 7,166 Greens - Bentgrass It was another wildly unpredictable PLAYERS Championship last week that ended with Si Woo Kim picking up his second career victory. He did so by shooting three of four rounds under 70 and was only one of two players inside the Top 10 on Sunday to shoot a sub 70 round. Looking at the players that entered the tournament in the elite tier of pricing($9K+), Masters Champion Sergio Garcia was the only player to finish inside the Top 10 in DraftKings points thanks to his hole in one. The PGA Tour now travels back to Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson from TPC Four Seasons Resort. The course is a Par 70 that stretches 7,166 yards through tree lined fairways and firm conditions that should produce sub a 60% Driving Accuracy average. The course can be a bit of a beast with six of the 12 Par 4's over 450 yards and two of them over 500! Both Par 5's are reachable by almost all of the field as they sit in the 540-yard range and the Par 3's range from 174 yards to 221 yards. While it can be a beast don't just fixate yourself on driving distance as there has been shorter, more accuracy profiled players who have had success here. Last year was a perfect example of this. Looking at the 11 players who finished inside the Top 10, only four finished the season inside the Top 50 in driving distance and five actually finished outside the Top 100 in the stat. Past Five Winners 2016 - Sergio Garcia(-15) 2015 - Steven Bowditch(-18) 2014 - Brendon Todd(-14) 2013 - Sangmoon Bae(-13) 2012 - Jason Dufner(-11) Even with Texas winds and rain mixed in over the years, there has...

THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP The Course TPC Sawgrass Par 72 - 7,200 Yards(Approx after reno) Greens - TifEagle Bermuda Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy golf. After an exciting week at Eagle Point Golf Club for the Wells Fargo Championship, the players head to TPC Sawgrass for their own tournament and one of the best fields in golf. That's right, the PLAYERS Championship features an elite field that includes 48 of the Top 50 players in the world(#25 Thomas Pieters & #27 Brandt Snedeker are absent) giving the tournament an Official World Golf Ranking average of 137. The land was purchased for just $1 and the revolutionary idea of Stadium Golf by Deane Beman was all brought together by renowned architect Pete Dye in the late 70's/early 80's to create what we now know as TPC Sawgrass. The idea was to create to course that didn't favor any particular style of game and presented a lot more than just a physical test, but also challenged the player's mental game and course management skills. There are no two holes running back to back in the same direction and there is also a mix of left to right and right to left doglegs across the course. Oh ya, then there is the historic Par 3, 17th hole with it's Island Green inspired by Pete's wife Alice. I included an excellent video history below and I think my favorite quote was from J.C. Snead who said of the new course "They ruined a perfectly good swamp". Boy was he wrong in the end. "Only those who risk going too far will ever possibly find out how far one can go" ~ T.S. Eliot This year's event will be present even more of a test than in the past with its recent renovation after Jason Day's victory a year ago. Every green was changed over to TifEagle Bermuda...

Wells Fargo Championship After a week off of daily fantasy on the PGA Tour for the Zurich Classic team event, we are back for the Wells Fargo Championship. This year's event will be a bit different than years past as the regular host course, Quail Hollow, will be hosting the 99th PGA Championship later this summer. That opens up a tremendous opportunity for the players to hit the Tom Fazio designed Eagle Point Golf Club. This will be the first Tour event held here but may not be the last after overwhelming positive feedback leading up to the event. Many players are comparing the attention to detail and course management to that of Augusta National. Pretty sick comparison! They hired Marsh Benson to help with some course improvements to get Eagle Point ready for this event including overseeding the course to Rye(used at Augusta). Marsh spent 27 years as the superintendent at Augusta and know what it takes to make a beautiful but very inviting playing environment for the players. The fairways are relatively straight with trees lining them and most holes with sand bunkers or water or both creating some choices that golfers will have to make. The greens are large in size but are very undulating and multi-tiered making the approach shot much harder than it appears on paper. Much like Augusta, most of the greens also have false fronts which can really tighten up the landing zones.
