We were not only treated to an elite field but one heck of a finish on Sunday that had started with 14 players all within three strokes of the lead. It was Xander Schauffele with the one-stroke lead being chased by an elite group led by Rory McIlroy, Gary Woodland, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Bryson DeChambeau and 18/36 hole leader, Harold Varner III. Xander ended up missing a short putt on 17 leading to a bogey and eventually missing a playoff but one stroke. it turned out being Morikawa and Berger going to extra holes where a short miss by Morikawa led to a Daniel Berger hoisting the hardware, his third career win. The re-structured schedule takes the PGA Tour to Harbour Town Golf Links this week for the RBC Heritage which was originally set to take place back in April. The course is a Pete Dye design which, like last week, puts emphasis on precision and accuracy much more than distance. It shows in the results as each of the last five winners(farthest I went back) averaged 280 yards or less in terms of driving distance for the week. In fact, during those last five events, the Top 10 finishers averaged between 280...

Head on over to my Patreon Page GOLF IS BACK! Ok, what I really mean is that PGA is back as I will admit I enjoyed researching and learning about the Outlaw Tour and Golden State Tour's. I am a stats junkie, however, so getting the full PGA Tour stats database back in our favor has me jumping up and down like my dad in a Harley Davidson shop. Part two of the 2020 season takes the Tour to Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge. The fans are not the only ones excited and it shows by the elite field consisting of each of the World's Top 5 players(McIlroy, Rahm, Koepka, Thomas, Johnson). Overall, there are 17 of the Top 25 and 37 of the Top 50 players in the World teeing up this week at Colonial. While the name has changed, this event has been played at Colonial going all the way back to 1970. The course is a Par 70 posted at 7,209 yards on the scorecard and is much more of a precision style course than a bombers paradise. Tight, tree-lined fairways with well-placed fairway bunkers make placement off the tee key to have access to the smaller than average bentgrass greens. One of the biggest defenses of the course is the wind and it shows in the inconsistent winning scores over the years ranging from -10 to -21 over the past 10 years. Twice it has ranked Top 10 in difficulty but on average is more around Top15 in difficulty. From a fantasy standpoint, I will be looking at more of a long term model this week with the long lay-off but there are a few stats that I will be concentrating on and it starts with Par 4 scoring as there are 12 on this Par 70 setup. Seven of those par 4's come in the 400-450 yard...

Return to Racing at Darlington It's finally here and I have close to the same kind of feeling as Daytona week as we have pretty much went through an entire second offseason. NASCAR will be one of the first sports back in action this weekend at Darlington which will start a stretch of four races for the Cup Series in 10 days on two tracks(Charlotte the other). Like I mentioned in my "NASCAR Update Article", there will be no practices as these will be one-day events and the only race with qualifying will be the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte next Sunday. As of Monday, May 11, NASCAR has yet to release how qualifying will work but my guess is that we will have this data days before the race giving us plenty of time to analyze the data and build lineups. There will be an added variance from a fantasy perspective with the return to racing with no practice or qualifying but given we have playing iRacing DFS which was a whole new level of variance, I am not worried at all. It's all about the data and we have lots of it here at Darlington and in NASCAR in general. Let's dig in and look at some of the data leading up to the race and make sure to tune in Sunday morning for the pre-race/pre-lock Live show on my YouTube channel. Raise your hand if you are ready for sports to come back? While I can't see you, I am pretty sure 100% of you reading this have at least one arm up in the air. It has been a very odd time lately and I am happy to be back talking REAL sports(no offense to the eGaming/eSports crowd). In this article, I just want to update you on the new NASCAR timeline as well as update you on a personal note of what I have been up to during the quarantine/social distancing period. Let's get started. Personal Update It was a wild timeline for me during this whole thing. It started out with my holiday to Phoenix which was going according to plan at the start as I was able to get to and enjoy the FanShield 500 at Phoenix Raceway with no idea it would possibly be the last race of the season with fans. Monday and Tuesday I got to visit our family friend who is in the SF Giants system and watch some practices at Spring Training facilities. Wednesday evening is when everything blew up as Rudy Gobert tested positive shutting down the NBA, followed by the NHL on Thursday. The PGA Championship was then canceled after Round 1 was suspended due to "dark conditions". I was still positive and prepped the Xfinity and Cup series sheets for the next weekend only to finish just as NASCAR postponed races as well. With Spring Training also postponed, we finished our trip doing some outdoor stuff and got to do lots of kids stuff as well. We flew home late Saturday night and were about 2-3 days away from border and travel chaos. It was so weird as when we left there was no concern really at all about COVID-19 and never seen or heard a word about it in Phoenix the first 3-4 days. I have learned a lot of new things over the past 6-7 weeks since the world has been shut down. Some of...
Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/31/20
Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/31/20 Welcome back League of Legends fans. We get treated to a smaller two-game LCS slate this today but I will be turning my attention to the two-game LPL slate starting at 3 am ET. It starts with one game between teams outside the playoff picture and one game between two teams firmly in the playoff picture. Let's break down each matchup and get into my favorite teams and players on the slate. Premium DFSR members get access to my expert sheets as a part of their membership. That's a $10 value every single month, just for signing up for a DFSR membership! Want my sheets on their own? Head on over to my Patreon Page. Top Teams to Target Edward Gaming vs. LGC Gaming The slate starts with the 15th ranked LGD Gaming facing the 9th ranked Edward Gaming. While there are only two games separating them in the standings, EG has been much better in terms of a game by game basis as they have won 52% of their games while LGD has won just 37% of their games. LGD is coming off a shutout win but taking away the shine is that it came against the worst team in the league, Victory Five. Before that win, they had lost three straight and six of their previous seven matches, thus sitting near the bottom of the standings. On the other side, EG is coming off a 2-1 loss at the hands of RNG but had won three of their previous four before that and also showing they can compete with the big guns shutting out eStar 2-0 in mid-March. Looking at the stats, it is very close in terms of kills per game(LGD-14.0, EG-13.3) but EG has a big advantage in terms of kill to death ratio 1.31 to .89 on the season. They also get a slight edge in Towers per game(6.2 to 5.4) and Dragons per game(2.6 to 2.3). EG are the odds on favorite(-334) and my pick to win in a game that I think goes three games. Player to Target At the top of my list and the salary list is Hope(ADC) and for good reason, as he is riding a streak of five straight matches tallying double-digit kills and is averaging 87.6 DK points per match in that time. A close second for me is Scout(MID) who has also been on a killing spree lately with a four-game streak of double-digit kills averaging 83.4 DK points per match. On the season, these two combine for 56.1% of the total damage on the team. As secondary plays, I like Aodi(TOP), Meiko(SUP), JunJia(JNG) in that order...
Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/27/20
Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/27/20 Welcome back League of Legends fans. After taking one on the chin last night(both my core teams got shutout) I am ready to rebound tonight as we get another inter-league LPL/LCK six-game slate. Let's dig in and break down the numbers and look at some core plays. Premium DFSR members get access to my expert sheets as a part of their membership. That's a $10 value every single month, just for signing up for a DFSR membership! Want my sheets on their own? Head on over to my Patreon Page. Top Teams to Target eStar vs. LNG Esports FunPlus Phoenix is a bigger favorite tonight but Estar has been the class of the Spring league with a 7-1 match(88%) and 14-5(74%) game record. They come into tonight having won three straight matches out-killing opponents 141-61 averaging 20.1 kills per game. LNG is coming off a 2-1 loss to Suning but they are no pushover as they won three straight matches before that and will have motivation sitting just outside the playoff picture by the slimmest of margins(tied in match record with EDG but have lost one more game). Players to Target You may not be able to get them in Captain spot without taking a shot at some underdog teams but all eStar stacks will start with Cryin(MID) and Wink(ADC). Over eStar's three game win streak, Cryin has tallied 34 kills and 68 assists while averaging 103.5 DK points per match. In that time, Wink has tallied 45 kills and 55 assists averaging 107.9 DK points per match. I will also run ShiauC(SUP) in the Support spot to correlate with Wink and while he doesn't get many kills, he has averaged 26.7 assists per match over that three-game win streak. I also like Xiaobai(TOP) tonight as he has shown big upside(104.5 DK points last match) and can also be considered a captain choice to get a four-player eStar stack in any format. Sandbox Gaming vs. Griffin After the two bigger favorites tonight(eStar & FPX) we really have to make some big decisions as the other four games are all fairly close when breaking down the numbers. While their record doesn't jump off the page, they do a matchup against the worst team in the league and motivation should be there as they are really only two matches out of a playoff spot. The other thing that skews the numbers a bit for Sandbox is the fact they are rolling out a whole new lineup than earlier in the season. Only two players(Lonely-TOP & Route-ADC) have played multiple games since the start of March. With a new-look lineup, they looked very good...
