The game has the highest over/under (244) of the slate by a wide margin and when it comes to scoring, this could be the spot. Of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the main attraction here, averaging 30.4 points and 6.2 assists on the season along with 3.7 steals + blocks. The defensive stats give him a high ceiling on FanDuel with the minutes among the best in the league when games are close. This is likely where to start cash game builds in the upper tier and he could see a lot of ownership on both sites even with the understanding that he’s very expensive. Anfernee Simons FD - $8300 DK - $7800Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 48 DK - 52.4 One caveat I have with Anfernee Simons on this slate is that running him in cash games is under the assumption that Malcolm Brogdon continues to sit out. If that’s the case then Simons has an incredibly high floor. He’s averaged 37 minutes a game since returning from injury and in that stretch is putting up 32 points and 5.3 assists while taking close to 24 shots a contest. The usage is nuts and the minutes are there. The price hasn’t caught up really and he’s taking on a very weak Utah Jazz defensive unit. Collin Sexton FD - $5400 DK - $5700Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 28.69 DK - 31.61 Jordan Clarkson and Keyonte George are both out and that’s going to likely mean all of the minutes for Colin Sexton on Thursday. He started Wednesday’s game against the Knicks and led the team in shots with 18. Sexton finished with a team-high 26 points while adding in seven assists. Considering how short the Jazz are in guard depth and how many shot attempts are out of the lineup right now, this is a smash spot for Sexton who will likely see a lot...

Neither is priced like they are taking over the offense and don’t have the salaries requisite with the Lakers sitting their two stars. We’ll likely be stacking the Lakers across the board in this game against the Spurs who have a bottom-five defense. Expect both Russell and Reaves to be massive chalk on this slate. This isn’t one we have to think too hard about. Jalen Brunson FD - $7800 DK - $8200Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 43.57 DK - 47.05 The Knicks get a potentially great matchup against the Jazz here and seeing as how Utah appears fully in the tank, there hasn’t been much resistance from them at all of late. We’ve seen a bit of a price dip on Brunson in the short term with the scoring down some. But he’s had some slower matchups against the Raptors and a game against the Celtics in there. This is a total get-right spot for a guy averaging close to 25 points and 5.6 assists on the season. As long as the minutes are there then Brunson is a high floor cash game play. Small Forward Scottie Barnes FD - $8900 DK - $8600Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 52.79 DK - 54.69 The Raptors take on the Hawks on Wednesday, and this game has the third-highest over/under total on the slate, which is really saying something, considering Toronto is involved with the game. But a lot of that (or really all of it) is because Atlanta plays the 27th-ranked defensive efficiency in the league and the third-fastest pace....

With Durant off the court this season, Devin Booker has a borderline unreal 38% usage rate. The assists and the rebound tick up as well. Basically, he’s the whole team with KD off the court and that’s going to give him a very high floor going into this matchup against the Kings. Expect him to be among the highest-owned players on the slate. Meanwhile, Eric Gordon sees the second most usage with Durant off the court with his number climbing to 27%. He’s not a candidate to fill the stat line across the board just because of how he plays, but the price doesn’t have you worrying about all that much either. Playing these guys together in cash games is likely how things swing in terms of ownership and you should be on board as well. Anfernee Simons FD - $6600 DK - $6800Opponent - DALProj Pts FD - 39.13 DK - 42.42 Anfernee Simons returned to the court after missing the first couple of months of the season, and it was like he hadn’t been gone at all. He stepped right into the starting lineup, played 37 minutes, and jacked up 27 shots. He only hit 10 of them but finished with 28 points and four assists. Malcolm Brogdon went down in that game, giving Simons more opportunity but I don’t think his price has come close to correcting based on how he came in for that first tilt. He’s a pretty easy play here. The Bulls get one of the best DFS matchups on the slate here against Charlotte, and though White’s price has risen, he’s still very much a play. Cam Thomas FD - $6700 DK - $7100Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 40.91 DK - 43.17 A very encouraging sign in Brooklyn was the number of minutes Cam Thomas ran over the weekend against the Orlando Magic. Though he struggled in the shooting department, going 7-23 from the field, he did run 38 minutes in all and ended up with five assists, a second-best for his career. Now he’ll get another chance at a high-usage game against a Hawks team that lacks a ton in point-of-attack defense. I like the price on both sites and don’t think it’s been fully adjusted to a starting role with a bigger minutes load. Killian Hayes FD - $5400 DK - $5400Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 26.82 DK - 27.25 Do the Pistons know what they are doing? It sure doesn’t seem like it. But can we consider some of their guys in fantasy for now? Sure. Killian Hayes stuck in the starting lineup with a backcourt of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey as well, and I think that is going to be how they run things again. He played 33 minutes, went 6-11 from the field, and finished with 13 points. He will tick in the defensive stats as well, and I think the floor is high enough in what should at least be a close game against the Grizzlies. That’s because they are facing off against the Washington Wizards who are about as good a DFS matchup as you can get these days. The Wizards rank second-to-last in defensive efficiency and second in pace. That’s a near-perfect meeting point when it comes to opponents scoring fantasy points and gives Orlando guys a high-floor expectation nearly across the board. Jalen Suggs doesn’t have huge minutes upside, but the price is completely reasonable and he should be in line for about 30 at least as long as the game stays close. He’s scored double-digit points in 10 straight games with contributions in nearly every part of the stat line. Meanwhile, Cole Anthony is coming off the bench but has been able to keep a consistent minutes level with the team not wanting to run rookie Anthony Black out there for major run. Anthony is coming off a 30-point, seven-rebound, seven assist game against the Hornets and has scored 15+ in five straight games. His price is a little risky considering he’s not in the starting unit, but the matchup helps ease that some. Other Notes: There are injury pieces we will need to know before ultimately setting lineups. It looks like Jamal Murray will return to the lineup tonight. But if not, then Reggie Jackson (FD 6000 DK 6300) would be another strong play once again. Additionally, if Kevin Durant were to sit again then we can instantly vault Devin Booker (FD 10400 DK 10300) into the top plays tier. At the same time, there is still some nightly DFS value on this squad and they actually come in as favorites against the Wizards. What does that tell you about Washington? Cade Cunningham took 26 shots last game, finishing with 31 points against the Pacers. And on the season he’s averaging 22 points and 7.1 assists. The 4.8 turnovers a game are a problem, but here’s to hoping some of the usage sticks for him against the worst defensive efficiency team in the league. Meanwhile, Jaden Ivey has been starting at the two guard and is coming off a 25-point game against the Pacers. He’s not a good outside shooter, but at least has been taking some from distance. And I think that stacking these guards at their price points does give a higher floor. The Wiz are just such a garbage team that it’s hard to imagine them slowing anyone down.
