We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Drew Pomeranz FD 8400 DK 8700 Opponent - KC (Hammel) Park - @BOS FD - 30.42 DK - 20.13 Pitching is plain bad on this main slate.  The 2 most expensive options are Justin Verlander vs HOU and Jacob Faria against the Yanks. No thank you. Instead, we'll take a look at Drew Pomeranz. He's around the same price and has a bit more appeal in the match-up. I'm not saying he's safe. There is no such thing on this slate. Pomeranz can always have his command off and it can turn into a bad start. Fortunately, we haven't seen that all too often this season. He has given up some runs, but the blowup games have been few and far between. He's also having one of the unluckiest years I've ever seen against lefties. They've posted a ridiculous  .473 BABIP and in turn has led to a .395 wOBA. You can blame Pomeranz for that and you can guarantee that will turn around. He's been great against righties, which has always been the problem. The Royals are an extremely underwhelming team and while they get some more upside in the ballpark, they still can't hit lefties. They rank 21st in the league with a .305 wOBA. Like I said, there is no such thing as safe, you do, however, get a solid arm at a good price in a solid match-up in Drew Pomeranz. Gerrit Cole FD 9000 DK 10900 Opponent - SD (Richard) Park - @SD FD - 36.71 DK - 24.16 The late start slate provides a ton more at pitcher. Bumgarner, Paxton, and Cole make for great plays in all formats at the top. We're going to look at Cole, who has the best match-up and price. Cole has been his usual self this year, dominating righties and struggling against lefties (.355 wOBA). He strikes out 8 per 9 innings and will very rarely get blown up. He should also see an uptick in K's, as the Padres lead the league in striking out against righties at nearly 26%. That's insane. Wil Myers is the only guy I'm scared of in the order and Cole has obliterated righties, so I'm not too worried. While you can get a...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Rich Hill FD 9400 DK 12400 Opponent - SF (Blach) Park - @LADFD - 36.73 DK - 23.99 The Dodgers open as the biggest favorite on the entire slate. Facing off with a underwhelming Giants team, Vegas has it slated at -260. Rich Hill and Ty Blach will face off in the battle of lefties. Hill has had a pretty weird season, bouncing from the DL and back a few times. He has settled down and has looked very solid over the last month or so. VERY SOLID. He's back to striking out 12 batters per 9 and dominating hitters from both sides of the plate. The opposing Giants are also nothing to be afraid of. While worse against righties, the Giants have ranked 26th in the league against lefties with a .296 wOBA. Dodgers Stadium is a great pitchers park and I see nothing wrong with Hill. If you need to pay down a little bit and still want a boat load of upside, take a shot with the 12-6 throwing Rich Hill. Zack Greinke FD 10200 DK 12200 Opponent - STL (Leake) Park - @STLFD - 37.57 DK - 24.76 On the late or "main" slate, we'll take a look at Zack Greinke. We touched on Kluber and Nova in the main picks article and they both remain elite options. Greinke and the D-Backs will travel into Busch Stadium to take on the Cardinals, who are all but a scary offense. With Matt Carpenter being the only good lefty in the order, this could be a bloodbath. He's held righties to a .280 wOBA and is striking out over 10 of them per 9 innings. Busch Stadium is also much bigger than Chase Field and he's played half his games there. Greinke is always going to be pretty expensive and while he may not be popular, the safety and upside are there. He's going to go at least 6 or 7 and I'd be chocked to see anything other than a win. We've got you completely covered. Blue Jays The Blue Jays get to face off with the Angels today, who are running a "bullpen game". The starter, Yusmeiro Petit, will be limited to around 40 pitches. He's always been a great arm out of the pen, but he's never been able to transition to a starter, despite multiple attempts. He'll be gone by the 4th inning and hopefully, the Jays are able to do some damage by then. Coming into the 4th, the game will be given to the bullpen. With Hernandez and Bedrosian pitching last night, they will see the likes of Parker, Middleton, and Pounders. Parker is pretty good and will likely be given the reigns if they have the lead. If not, Pounders and Middleton can be taken advantage of in a huge way. This Jays lineup is obviously lethal and they can do damage from a lot of different spots. Bautista, Donaldson, and Morales are the guys with the biggest pop and I'd likely have them on all Jays stacks. After, the lineup is very spread out and you can really go anywhere. Russell Martin is fairly priced and fills one of the weaker positions in C. Main Stack - Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Kendrys Morales, Russell Martin Sneaky Stack - Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Justin Smoak, Troy Tulowitzki Baltimore Orioles Austin Bibens-Dirkx is a fraud. He should not be in the majors, or even AAA. He's a 32-year-old AA pitcher who is loved by Rangers fans. He's gotten lucky in 2 starts and has found a way to get another. While his .340 combined wOBA is bad enough, a .210 BABIP is pretty astonishing. The wOBA will end up over .380 and I doubt this guy has many starts left, if any. He's just as bad against righties as he is lefties and has always struggled with the HR. He hosts the Orioles tonight in Globe Life Park, where the ball flies. The O's are an inherently risky team and it doesn't really matter who they are facing. They are always candidates to strike out 15 times and hit 2...

We've got you completely covered. Arizona Diamondbacks It comes down to the Yankees and Diamondbacks on this early slate. When looking at Aaron Blair and Homer Bailey, I just have more confidence in Aaron Blair stinking it up. Blair is a guy who hasn't pitched since 2016, when he was absolutely atrocious. He posted a .432 wOBA against lefties and a .337 against righties. He throws 4 pitches but at this point just 3. His fastball is decent but when it's the only pitch you can throw for a strike, it doesn't work. He also allows stolen bases and has a hard time controlling base runners. Jake Lamb and David Peralta are obviously the 2 studs and you should not ignore either. There 2 of the best 10 bats in this league against righties when in Chase Field. After those 2, you have to go with 2 of Pollock, Goldy, and Martinez. They all have plenty of upside and safety. Main Stack - Jake Lamb, David Peralta, Paul Goldschmidt, J.D. Martinez Sneaky Stack - Jake Lamb, David Peralta, A. J. Pollock, Chris Herrmann Chicago Cubs The Cubs are easily the best stack on this main slate. Implied to score 5.82 runs, they hold the highest on the slate and match with the D-Backs for the day. The Cubs have the honor of facing off with James Shields, who is certainly one of the worst pitchers in the league. Shields has allowed a .442 wOBA to lefties and a .321 to righties that is relatively dominant. He's given up 12 homers in 40 innings and doesn't look to be changing his ways much from last season. As for the Cubs side, we know what they offer. Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant are 2 of the best bats in baseball and both must be on the stack. You then get into Ben Zobrist and Kyle Schwarber, who are surrounding. They are both great plays in all formats. The likes of Contreras, Russell, and Baez will all go under-owned and have a ton of upside in the matchup. In tournaments, don't be afraid to get some backend...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Jeff Samardzija FD 8600 DK 7600 Opponent - PIT (Williams) Park - @SFFD - 38.13 DK - 25.13 Let's be honest, Jeff Samardzija has not been good lately. He's struggled in recent starts and while he hasn't fallen apart, the hinges are squeaking. Fortunately, we know who Jeff Samardzija is. This is a guy with a long track record that has proven himself over and over. As for this season, he's held drastic splits between lefties and righties, dominating the ladder. He's striking out close to 10 batters per 9 innings and has had some big games. The game will also be played in AT&T Park, so he has some room for error. He faces a very average Pirates team that has ranked 18th against righties in terms of wOBA at .311. All in all, there is some risk. However, this is a short slate and if you can't pay up for Sale or Severino, this is your best option. Carlos Martinez FD 8900 DK 8400 Opponent - COL (Hoffman) Park - @STLFD - 36.96 DK - 24.36 I ended up going with Wood for the main picks article, but could have easily gone Carlos Martinez. He has been great this season and takes on a Rockies team who is far worse on the road. The Rockies get some ill-deserved respect from DFS players due to them always being in play. We have to remember why they are in play so often. Outside of Coors Field, most of these guys are a shell of themselves. The only worries are Blackmon and Arenado, who don't rely on any type of ballpark for production. Martinez has been worse against lefties, but not horrible. He is striking out close to 10 and walking nearly 3. Busch Stadium is surely a pitchers park and Martinez has been exceptional there. If you want to save some funds or simply make a minor from Alex Wood, Carlos Martinez is a great way to go. Try out InGame Fantasy for a totally new DFS experience.
