With football in full swing, a lot of the attention has been drawn away, but the money is still there to be won. We have two slates of games on our hands today and both deliver a very different arsenal of weapons. The top three pitchers on the early slate (Clevinger, Porcello, Lester) will all draw interest, so ownership shouldn’t be an issue like it is on most slates. Porcello and Clevinger are both good options, but Porcello has a 5-6 inning cap and Clevinger is a lot more expensive than you’d like to pay. Instead, we’ll look at Jon Lester, who’s plenty cheaper and has been pitching great as of late. He faces a Reds team he’s dominated plenty of times in the past and continue to struggle as much as ever. They’re a lot better against lefties with guys like Suarez but the rest of the core guys prefer right-handers. The Cubs are pushing for the playoffs and you know there’s nobody who would rather be on the mound. Expect 6 innings, 6 strikeouts, and a win. When you consider the discount as well, I’ll take Lester in all formats for the early slate. Main German Marquez FD 10600 DK 12000 Opponent - SF (Madison Bumgarner) Park - SF FD - 38.36 DK - 20.07 I know it feels weird to pay $10k+ for German Marquez, and especially against a cheaper Madison Bumgarner, but that’s the world we live in. Marquez and the Rockies are currently favored vs the Giants, who are 4th worst in baseball against righties with a team .285 wOBA. They also strikeout at a top 5 clip at nearly 25%. You combine that with a pitcher on a hot plate and a ballpark that can hold nearly anything and you get a very safe option in German Marquez. Dealing of late, Marquez is currently holding a 10.29 K/9 and a 3.21 xFIP. Hes going to cost you a pretty penny, but could very well be worth it in the long run. In cash games, Marquez will be my guy. Vince Velasquez FD 6400 DK 8200 Opponent - MIA...

I know football is back and all, but baseball season is coming down to the wire and it’s almost October. There’s no better time to be involved. We’ll kick things off in the early slate, where our selection of arms isn't nearly as plentiful as we see later on. We'll focus on Jack Flaherty, who's asserted himself as another steady young Cards gem that has now pushed his K/9 over 10. His wOBA has leveled at 3.48 and the only concern you’re left with is the near 3.5 BB/9. With that being said, he faces a Tigers squad that ranks second-worst in the league at taking walks (6.9%). You can combine that with a .296 wOBA against righties and you get a stellar match-up for Flaherty. Expect him to return to the 40+ FanDuel points we’re used to with five of his last six reaching 45+. He’s going to be popular, but this is a case where I’m willing to eat the chalk at pitcher and differentiate elsewhere. Let’s get to the main slate, where the arms juice up quite a bit. Main Max Scherzer FD 11700 DK 12500 Opponent - CHC (Cole Hamels) Park - WSH FD - 45.47 DK - 25.64 Max Scherzer is listed as the probable starter on this slate, but it could end up being Joe Ross that takes the mound. The Cubs and Nats are playing a double-header today and it looks like Scherzer May start the early game. Either way, he’s the top option on the board every time he takes the mound. Tonight, he faces off with a Cubs lineup that’s more than apt to strikeout. Sure, they’re lethal, but Scherzer on his A game can shutout any lineup in baseball. He’s posted a .247 combined wOBA on the season backed up by a measly 12.08 K/9. The Cubs are susceptible to the K, ranking 6th in strikeout rate vs right-handers. Now, this is all assuming Scherzer takes the mound. If it ends up as Joe Ross, the Cubs turn into a team you may want exposure to instead. Zach Eflin FD 7600 DK 7100 Opponent...

We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Chris Sale FD 11500 DK 11100 Opponent - CHW (Dylan Covey) Park - CHWFD - 49.96 DK - 28.44 Welcome to Friday baseball! We have 14 games on tap for the main slate and a ton of different directions to pivot with your lineup. At pitcher, there are a few different options on the high-end and there isn’t necessarily a bad choice. The two we won’t touch on are Justin Verlander (price) and DeGrom (match-up). Both are still cream of the crop talent and can put up a gem any night. With that being said, I’ll take Chris Sale over both. I expect Sale to return to 7+ innings and 7+ K’s en route to a win. He’s posted a .271 wOBA against both sides of the plate and is striking out 12+ batters per 9. As for the match-up, it couldn’t be better. Against lefties, the White Sox rank 24th in team wOBA at .300 and hold a league-high 27.7% strikeout rate. Sale could get to double-digit K’s here and the price isn’t over the top. He’s still cheaper than Verlander and is clearly my favorite option if money wasn’t a consideration. You’ll find Sale in most, if not all of my cash games. Stephen Strasburg FD 10400 DK 10800 Opponent - SF (Andrew Suarez) Park - SFFD - 41.35 DK - 22.46 Strasburg has immensely matured with age. It’s not necessarily a surprise to see some progress, but this is just crazy for a guy who was once one of the most inconsistent in all of the league. He’s now putting up 6+ innings in most games and has only fallen under once. He’s trusted to throw 100+ pitches every time out and it’s let him find a groove instead of forcing strikes due to a pitch count. The match-up with San Fran isn’t anything to write home about, but they sport just a .320 wOBA against righties and strikeout around 25% of the time. Nationals Park is friendly for pitching and Strasburg has been better at home over his career. He’s just a bit cheaper than Sale and has similar upside, though I think Sale hits it a lot more often in the given match-ups. Garrett Richards FD 8100 DK 7700 Opponent - MIN (Lance Lynn)...

We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Gerrit Cole FD 11700 DK 11600 Opponent - BOS (Chris Sale) Park - HOUFD - 44.05 DK - 23.71 Welcome to MLB Saturday! We have a full clip of games on our hands with 15 contests on the main slate. There’s a lot to pick through and a whole lot of options at some positions, while it remains a little barren at others. As for pitching, there are a few options to choose from. On the high-end, Gerrit Cole and Chris Sale will face off. They both have similar upside, but Cole is the favorite and at home, so we lean there. The Red Sox are obviously a lethal offense, but they have been known to go cold on occasion. Gerrit Cole has been one of the best pitchers in baseball and is a legitimate candidate for Cy Young. He’s held respective .229 and .246 wOBA’s against each side of the plate, all the bike striking out 13+ batters per 9 innings. Cole is having a breakout season like no other and should continue the work against Boston. They are undoubtedly an intimidating offense, but I’d bet a Gerrit Cole on his game is just a bit more lethal. Carlos Carrasco FD 9500 DK 10700 Opponent - MIN (Jose Berrios) Park - MINFD - 36.11 DK - 19.61 If you’re still looking to pay up, but don’t like Cole or Sale, Carrasco is an elite pivot. He’s a solid $2k cheaper than both options and does have similar upside when his fastball is being located. He’s also as inconsistent as ever, so the price makes sense. He faces off with the Twins tonight, who are truly a bottom of the barrel offense against right-handers. They’ve sported a 22nd ranked .308 wOBA that’s being backed up by a near-23% strikeout rate. They have some power in the lineup, but strikeout a ton and have trouble stringing together hits. Carrasco isn’t as safe as Cole or Sale, but is a good bit cheaper and has similar upside in a tournament. Cole is still my favorite. Nick Pivetta FD 7900 DK 10000 Opponent - SF (Chris Stratton) Park - SFFD - 33.32 DK - 17.01 If you’re not a fan of the high-end arms or you’re just looking to get some premier...

Pitchers Corey Kluber FD 10800 DK 10800 Opponent - HOU (Dallas Keuchel) Park - CLE FD - 39.35 DK - 21.47 Max Scherzer is facing the Marlins, so he had to take the top spot in the main article. With that said, Corey Kluber is always right behind him. Even against a tough Astros lineup, they’re projected just 3.15 runs and Kluber is a big favorite. The Astros are obviously a lethal offense, but they are right-handed heavy and can go ice cold at times. They also strikeout a ton against hard-throwing righties. Corey Kluber is having another ho-hum cy Young worthy year. He’s held a .247 wOBA against both sides of the plate and is striking out 9 batters per 9 innings. With the masses on Scherzer and rightfully so, you can get a lower owned Corey Kluber in a high-upside spot. I’ll take advantage. Sean Manaea FD 8200 DK 8600 Opponent - ARI (Patrick Corbin) Park - OAK FD - 34.23 DK - 17.07 If you need to pay down, I like Ross Stripling against the Padres. Sean Manaea isn't necessarily cheap, but he's cheaper than most studs on this slate and in a similar situation. As we sit, he's favored against Patrick Corbin and the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks are currently implied to score 3.30 runs, which is the third lowest on the entire slate. The Diamondbacks strikeout 26.4% of the time and have posted just a .317 wOBA against lefties on the road. Manaea has held a .246 wOBA against lefties and a .262 against righties. He's K'ing 7 batters per 9 innings and his peripherals are as strong as could be. He's not up there with Scherzer, Paxton, or Kluber but he's cheaper than he should be and is in play in all formats. Stacks Kansas City Royals vs. Mike Minor (Rangers) Jorge Soler FD 3300 DK 3800 Opponent - TEX (Mike Minor) Park - TEX FD - 10.71 DK - 8.07 Salvador Perez FD 3500 DK 4000 Opponent - TEX (Mike Minor)...
