Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Jake Arrieta and Aaron Sanchez in the Main Article and will be going over a few more options below. Carlos Martinez FD 9500 DK 11400 Opponent - NYM (Syndergaard) Park - @NYM FD - 31.59 DK - 21.28 I know you were expecting Noah "Thor" Syndergaard to be the pitcher I talked about in this Mets-Cardinals matchup, but I just can't trust the 23-year-old. Yes, his stuff is electric, but he's been dealing with right-arm issues the past couple months which is scaring me away. He's been very inconsistent during that span, which is another reason why I won't be rostering him into my DFS squads tonight. In order for my blood pressure to not to go through the roof, I will instead roster his opponent, Carlos "Baby Pedro" Martinez. Not only is he healthy, but he also has a better matchup between the two. This season, the Mets own a .308 wOBA (20th in MLB) to go along with a 22.8 K% (8th in MLB). This matchup provides Baby Pedro with the K upside we look for with rostering a pitcher and pitching at spacious Citi Field certainly gives him a boost (just from a general pitching standpoint). He's more of a GPP play for me, as he will be going up against Thor, but you got to love the matchup Martinez and his 2.83 ERA are in today. Dallas Keuchel FD 8600 DK 8000 Opponent - NYY (Pineda) Park - @HOU FD - 32.39 DK - 21.38 Dallas Keuchel pitching at home against the New York Yankees? Sign me up!...

And will be going over a few more options below. Sonny Gray FD 7700 DK 6100 Opponent - TB (Moore) Park - @OAKFD - 32.88 DK - 20.71 I'm going to be very honest with you: Pitching is awful today. Every game on the slate has an O/U of at least eight, and there are no "safe" or "cash game" plays outside of, Adam Wainwright. I'm not going to lie, I got excited when I saw Stephen Strasburg was taking the mound today, but then realized he was pitching in the early only slate. That broke my heart. Guess what I'm trying to say is that the pitching options aren't pretty today (so manage your bankroll accordingly), but I also found two pitchers (other than Wainwright) that you can throw into your lineups and have a chance tonight. And the first guy on the list is, Sonny Gray. Yes, Sonny Gray has an ERA over five, but he sports a 4.29 xFIP, which shows us that he has not been as bad as his ERA suggests. Yes, a 4.39 xFIP is something he shouldn't be proud of and bragging about to all your friends, but it sure gives fantasy owners some hope. The other thing that stood out to me is his ground ball percentage. He owns a 54.4 GB%, which will help him out quite a bit going up against this powerful Rays' lineup. The majority of these guys hit for power, which is where that GB% will come into play....

Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 7/21/16

Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 7/21/16 Welcome to our new daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Boston Red Sox vs. Tyler Duffey (BOS) The Red Sox are coming into this contest scoring 15 runs in their last two games, and I just can't see Tyler Duffey slowing them down. The Red Sox will be playing at home in Fenway, a hitter-friendly park, against a pitcher who owns an ERA over five. It doesn't get much better than this folks. Not sure what else I have to say to get you on board, but if you're not yet; maybe this will do it: The Red Sox rank 1st in wOBA (.354), 1st in wRC+ (117), 5th in ISO (.188) and 1st in OPS (.831) against right-handed pitching. David Ortiz isn't hitting like a guy headed toward retirement with an OPS over 1.000 and top of the order guys like Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts have seen a small price dip in the short term. It doesn't get prettier than this; this is where you can almost fade Coors in tournaments with the Sox coming at advantageous price points.   Chicago White Sox vs. Mike Pelfrey (DET) Oh no.... It's been...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Toronto Blue Jays vs. Zack Godley (MIN) The Blue Jays will be playing at "Baby Coors" (Chase Field) and will be going up against right-hander, Zack Godley. You gotta love it! Godley has a lot of control issues (10.3 BB%) to go along with a 1.50 WHIP. He puts a lot of runners on base and going up against the Blue Jays is yelling out trouble. The Jays' are one of the top teams when it comes to facing right-handed hitters. They own a .334 wOBA (6th in MLB) 106 wRC+ (6th in MLB) and .192 ISO (4th in MLB). Yes they are expensive, but they have one of the best offenses in the league and will be going up against a guy with an ERA over five. Los Angeles Angels vs. Kyle Loshe(TEX) Let's be honest: Kyle Lohse isn't the same pitcher he once was, so I'm going to be picking on him today. Since, 2014, Loshe owns a 4.63 ERA, 4.51 FIP and 34.2% hard contact rate. He's 37 years old; and his velocity is down, so look for...

And will be going over a few more options below. Jake Arrieta FD 10600 DK 12100 Opponent - NYM (Syndergaard) Park - @CHCFD - 36.98 DK - 24.35 Yes I know he has been terrible in his last three starts, but look for him to bounce back tonight. He's had a nice long break to clear his mind mentally for this contest. Look at what Jon Lester did. He was struggling before the break and started the second half with a [bang]. I expect Arrieta to do the same thing tonight. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt where his last three starts were on the road. Tonight there are no excuses. He will be pitching at Wrigley where he owns a 1.65 ERA, 1.81 FIP and 23.0 K-BB%. He is a completely different animal at home and look for him to take advantage of a Mets' squad that's in the bottom half of the rankings against right-handed pitchers. The matchup is there for him -- now it's time for him to prove to us why he is "one of the top pitchers in the game." Danny Salazar FD 10300 DK 11300 Opponent - KC (Young) Park - @KCFD - 33.18 DK - 22.1 If you're looking for some upside, Danny Salazar is your guy. He owns a 27.6 K% to go along with a 82.6 LOB%. He is a tournament only play for me as he can have some control issues (10.8 BB%), but you can't deny his upside. He...
