Quarterback Henry Burris Ottawa 10,500 Last week was a nightmare for my recommended QB pick from this same team. Life goes on right? Now Harris is hurt and now the Red-Blacks from the nation's capital have their starting QB back and he's 100% healthy. Burris is my top selection of the slate for many reasons. He has deadly weapons all over the field to throw to such as Williams, Ellingson and Sinopoli, and his team is currently favoured to win by 10 with a total of 50 points. I'm not worried about the blowout factor as I think Toronto, who's Defence is ranked around the league average, will keep the game from being completely embarrassing, which means Ottawa will be throwing the ball downfield quite often. They currently lead the CFL both in total offence with 504 points per game which is crazy good, and 389 passing yards per game. Enough said. You know what to do in all formats. Moving on. Kevin Glenn - Montreal $7700 I'll warn you right now, this is not a safe pick. But it could be a very profitable one in larger tournaments as he should be very low owned. Yes this is the same guy I called 800 years old last week. But I watched Montreal's entire game vs Toronto, and he's throwing with good velocity and he has a decent amount of weapons to throw to. The riders have given up 322 passing yards per game which is 3rd worst in the league. I'm playing Glenn in a few tourney lineups this week. Wide Receiver Chris Williams - Ottawa $10,600 You're going to start to notice a trend with my picks which should be universal especially in the CFL. If I recommend a QB, then a WR will shortly follow. Williams is reunited with Ottawa's #1 QB and he's had unreal success so far this season. He had a bad week last week only because the Red-Blacks 3rd string QB was forced into the game in the 1st quarter. Williams already has 32 receptions for 570 yards and 6 TD's, with an average of 27.9 dk points per game. That's impressive...

Quarterback Tevor Harris Ottawa 11,200 Wow is all I can say to start. This wasn't even supposed to be his job at the start of the season, but Burris is still injured. I was at the Grey Cup in Winnipeg last year, and maybe the Red-Blacks would have won if Harris was at QB instead of Burris, but maybe I should have won the lottery by now also. Who knows right? All I know is that I'm playing Harris in a large majority of my cash game and gpp lineups this week. Saskatchewan is a mess right now. They have given up an average of 322 yards through the air, which is third worst in the league, and it will only get worse from here. Their starting QB is probably on the IR again for the third straight year which is definitely hurting the team's morale, and they've started the season off 0-3. Harris has already thrown for 1475 yards with 9 TD's and has two deadly receiving weapons to throw to. Enough said. Start him with confidence. Mike Reilly Edmonton 11,100 This is a week like most weeks where we just can't go cheap at QB, and although Reilly has been playing well, I am only playing him in a few tourney lineups and a few H2H's in case Harris somehow struggles. Hamilton's D has been stifling to begin the season. Vegas thinks it will be a high scoring game as the total currently sits at 55, with Edmonton as a 4.5 point favourite. But I'm not buying it. The Tiger-cats have only given up an average of 230 passing yards per game, and 324 total yards per game, which are both best in the league by a decent margin. Running Back Brandon Whitaker Toronto 6600 This pick isn't about Whitaker as much as how bad Montreal is as an entire team, and their Run D is terrible. They have given up 115 rushing yards per game which is by far the worst in the league. It also helps that Whitaker is involved in the passing game. He's rushed for a middle of the pack 157 yards, but he...
Daily Fantasy CFL DraftKings Picks for Week 4 – 7/14/16
Daily Fantasy CFL DraftKings Picks for Week 4 - 7/14/16 Welcome to the first ever CFL picks article on DFSR. There will be a mixture of top end plays and value plays to help fill your cash-game and GPP lineups on DraftKings. Since Week 4 started early Wednesday evening, the following picks will be for the three game slate on DraftKings, which starts Thursday Evening. If you need a quick primer on Canadian Football League DFS check out our introduction to the sport. Playing other DFS offerings? Quarteback Mike Reilly Edmonton - 10,800 Through the first three games, the Eskimo's QB has been above average, throwing for 761 yards, with 5 TD's and 1 interception. He is averaging 29.4 DraftKings points per game, and draws a good matchup vs the Blue Bombers who have been weak against the pass so far this year by giving up 326 yards per game through the air. This game is going to be a shootout, and Edmonton is loaded with weapons on offense. I'm locking him in as my cash game play at QB. Drew Willy Winnipeg - 9,000 And then there is the Blue Bomber's QB. He has thrown for 940 yards, with 4 TD's and 1 interception, but is only averaging 22.1 draftkings points per game. He can and will have great games, but he can be terrible as well. He is up and down like a roller coaster. This could be one of those weeks that he has a monster game vs the Eskimos who have given up a league worst 420 passing yards per game. Ouch. And the total for the game is currently set at 54.5 points according to www.pinnaclesports.com. I don't trust him in cash games but fire Big Willy up in your tourney lineups. Running Back Anthony Allen BC - 5900 There is never much to say about a CFL running back. There is very little safety and very little upside. They aren't always on the field and most of the time when they are, they end up in heavy pass protection mode. With that being said the former Baltimore Raven is seeing a decent amount of touches for a CFL back, and is making the most of them. Play Allen this week in all formats. Andrew Harris Winnipeg - 7600 If you have money left over, spend it on Harris. He has been fairly involved in the passing game for the Bombers and the Blue and Gold have one of the most balanced attacks in the CFL. And like I said, there...
The Canadian Football League (CFL): A DFS Introduction
The Canadian Football League (CFL): A DFS Introduction Editor’s note: Welcome our newest contributor Ryan Couckuyt, a resident of Manitoba Canada who’ll introduce you to the football league of the North, the Canadian Football League. Playing other DFS offerings? Be sure to check out the free 3-day trial to our MLB projection system which includes full player projections and optimal lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. This article will explain the differences between the NFL and CFL from both a rules and DFS perspective. Additionally we’ll talk some strategy to help gain an edge in cash games and tournaments. General CFL Rules First of all, up here in Canada we play with three downs instead of four. This usually leads to more passing plays and it can seem like the punters are always on the field. There are twelve players on the field at all times legally instead of eleven, and the entire playing field is 20 yards longer and marginally wider than an NFL field. With the larger field there are a lot of downfield passing plays and exciting all out blitzes which makes the CFL an exciting sport to watch. Scoring is the same as the NFL except for one minor difference: Teams get one point on a missed field goal or a punt in the Endzone if the non-kicking team decides against running the ball out of their Endzone. Players only need one foot inbounds instead of two to perform a legal catch, and the goalposts are just beyond the goal line instead of at the back of the Endzone. The final piece creates more room to run around and make plays or do something dumb and cost their team penalties. Of course there are more differences between the two leagues but I feel that they are minor and less important than the ones I have discussed. Daily Fantasy CFL Rosters Now for the fun part, the differences between the NFL and the CFL from a daily fantasy standpoint. Currently the only site that has CFL available to play is Draftkings, so we’ll focus specifically on that site. CFL is less complex than NFL. You will be filling your lineup with 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 flex spots where you can chose from WR's and RB's only, and 1 Def/ST. The total maximum salary is $50,000. There are no tight ends in the CFL, and if you look at a CFL depth chart you will notice 2 slot backs which are considered wide receivers on Draftkings. Building a CFL Lineup This next and last part is very important and involves where to should focus most of your attention when building your roster. Your QB...
