The Los Angeles Clippers at the Boston Celtics Boston is favored by 1.5 points and no total has been released on this game as of this writing. Our first Thursday game is a rematch of the November 20th nailbiter that saw the Clippers pull out an overtime victory in a rare contest where both of these teams were (almost) at full strength. Gordon Hayward's absence certainly left a fingerprint on that game, but I still think we can learn a lot from it. Patrick Beverley has already been ruled out of this one, so it won't be a full rematch of their last meeting, but these teams are healthy enough that I'm still pretty excited. On a tiny two game slate every team has to be in consideration, but our lineup optimizer sees a pretty big difference between the best and worst plays on each team. Let's have a look. The Boston Celtics Daniel Theis FD - $5300 DK - $4600 Opponent - LAC Proj Pts FD - 30 DK - 28.56 On a two game slate power forward is pretty shallow, and Theis stands as a pretty clear play at the position. He was great when these two teams met previously, leveraging his size against the generally undersized Clips to generate 14 boards and 41 fantasy points in 31 minutes of action. He looks like a no brainer here. Let's talk about the rest. So the Clips/Celts game in November was actually a pretty strange one. Hayward was missing, and Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker shot a terrible combined 7-31, which left the game mostly in Tatum's hands. Our system sees this one playing out much differently, with Walker, Hayward, and Brown being good plays while Tatum is looking a little overpriced. I especially love Kemba given that he won't have to deal with Beverley harassing him at every turn, and would love to fit him into my cash games. The Los Angeles Clippers Marcus Morris FD - $5200 DK - $5000 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 31.97 DK - 33.12 Lou Williams FD - $5500 DK - $6100 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 33.62 DK...

Point Guard Kendrick Nunn FD - $4900 DK - $5600 Opponent - POR Proj Pts FD - 27.08 DK - 27.92 With Butler already ruled out, the Heat are all very much in play again today. Nunn saw reasonable cash game play last game, and while he didn't knock your socks off, he did put together a perfectly respectable 25.7 FanDuel points. And honestly, that looked like his floor. Nunn shot just 6 of 19 from the field and his teammates left a few of his assists on the table as well. Nunn is a good shooter, and Portland's back court isn't exactly known for their defense. I think he bounces back and is an excellent cash game play here. JA Morant FD - $6200 DK - $6300 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 36.41 DK - 37.5 Your run of the mill DFS players will look at Morant's game log and proclaim that he has been "struggling recently," and elect not to play him. Not this DFS writer. Morant has been involved in literally 5 straight blowouts, and we know that in normal game scripts he gets a 32-34 minute rotation. He's $1,000 cheaper than his peak prices, and going up against a Washington team that represents literally the league's best DFS match-up is a great way to get back on track. Keep an eye on the Trae Young situation. If he sits both Teague and Goodwin would be squarely in play. Shooting Guard Kevin Huerter FD - $5000 DK - $6100 Opponent - NY Proj Pts FD - 31.78 DK - 32.82 This play is mostly fueled by Trae's potential absence, but has plenty of legs even if Trae plays. Huerter has been playing 36-42 minutes in close games, and while blowouts are always a risk for the terrible Hawks going up against a terrible Knicks team that also lost one of their best scorers certainly makes this a little bit more appealing. You can't play Huerter on DraftKings if Trae plays, but on FanDuel I think he's a great option either way. Lou Williams FD - $5400 DK - $6800 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts FD -...

Point Guard Elfrid Payton FD - $6700 DK - $7300 Opponent - ORL Proj Pts FD - 35.49 DK - 35.1 The Elf is officially off the shelf (sorry), and his mini-Westbrook reign of terror continued with a wild 17/11/15 performance against the Cavaliers on Monday. I think the train is going to stop barreling along at this pace at some point, but I think we get another bite at the apple in this Orlando game. Blowout risk is a nightly concern with the Knicks, but with Payton playing at such a high level they are just 3 point dogs to the Magic at home here. RJ Barrett practiced yesterday, and his return could muddy these waters some, but if Payton starts he gets a full green light for cash games today. Lonzo Ball FD - $6500 DK - $6900 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 36.18 DK - 37.36 Ball hasn't missed a beat upon Zion's arrival in New Orleans, sitting around 5x points per dollar or better in each of his last five games. He's playing 37+ minute rotations in close games, and given that New Orleans is just a 3.5 point favorite over the Bulls this game rates to be exactly that. The Bulls are essentially a league average match-up in every conceivable way, so we're just going after Ball on his rate alone. I think that suffices for cash game purposes and will happily run him out there tonight. Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $11500 DK - $12400 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 65.09 DK - 67.8 Harden's value obviously hinges a great deal on Westbrook's status, but if Russ misses again you can expect 90%+ ownership on him tonight. Even if Westbrook plays, Harden is a tough one to turn down. In the last meeting with the Lakers, Harden played 39 minutes and got to the line 18 times. It didn't all come together in a final stat line, but the opportunity was there, and at the very least we can likely consider the 49 fantasy points he chipped in his floor. If Russ plays, he'll likely be less than 100%, and...

Point Guard Damian Lillard FD - $10900 DK - $10300 Opponent - DEN Proj Pts FD - 52.18 DK - 54.49 What to do with Damian Lillard? Well, if this Redditor is to be believed, he has accounted for more points over the last six games than any player ever has in a six game period. That's pretty good. The last slate where I wrote about Lillard I said that players don't tend to fundamentally change at the stage where Lillard is in his career, but it certainly looks like he may have done just that. You can't count on the ridiculous accuracy from deep, but the fact that he's shooting 29-30 times in normal games while also dishing 10+ assists can't be ignored. It's also working - the Blazers have won 5 of their last 6 games against very tough competition. Denver qualifies as a tough opponent, but I don't think it's crazy to just ride this Lillard hot streak. Austin Rivers FD - $4000 DK - $3600 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 24.31 DK - 24.74 Our system is really hoping that two things align here. First, Westbrook needs to sit. Second, Rivers needs to be healthy enough to play (he missed Monday's practice with an illness). If those two things do come together, though, Rivers is an auto-inclusion as the most clear value play on the slate. I think it's likely enough that those come together for you to plan for that as of this writing. Also considered: Eric Bledsoe. Monte Morris is an interesting big tournament play, as he saw all the minutes you could want even with Gary Harris returning last game. Harris did come off the bench, though, so if he returns to the starting lineup Morris becomes a lot less appealing. Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $11600 DK - $12000 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 65.29 DK - 68.04 With an incredible bounty of big money options tonight, you're going to be making some tough decisions. I just don't see how Harden isn't the first big money guy to go into the lineup, though. With Westbrook off the court...

Point Guard Eric Bledsoe FD - $6100 DK - $6700 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 36.78 DK - 37.45 Bledsoe saw some cash game play on Friday even in a very competitive slate, and I have a strong feeling he'll be among the highest owned point guards on a tiny Sunday slate. With Hill and Divicenzo likely out the Bucks honestly don't have a whole lot of other traditional point guard options, and Bledsoe has already been totally reasonable on these prices recently. While the Suns have improved defensively this season they still play a top 10 pace with a league average defense, and Bledsoe should have plenty of possessions to pay his value. Russell Westbrook FD - $11200 DK - $10200 Opponent - NO Proj Pts FD - 56.51 DK - 59.24 Lonzo Ball FD - $6600 DK - $7000 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 36.36 DK - 37.3 The Rockets/Pelicans game has by far the highest total on the day (245!), and a tighter spread at 4.5 than many people would have imagined. If this game does stay close, these two look like equally good values at different price points today. Lonzo's mini-Westbrook approach gives him a ton of floor, and Westbrook himself has been on a tear recently with Harden nursing a sore thigh. I'd be fine with either of these guys for cash game purposes tonight. Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $11000 DK - $11200 Opponent - NO Proj Pts FD - 58.8 DK - 61.27 Rumors of Harden's demise appear to have been exaggerated, as any concerns about his thigh causing long term issues were relieved on Friday night. Big game James simply dominated the Mavs, netting 35 points and 6 assists while crashing the boards for 16 rebounds. If he's going to be playing at this frenetic pace he's still too cheap, and even the 8% price increase isn't enough to scare us off him in such an excellent match-up. Jrue Holiday FD - $7800 DK - $8000 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 42.28 DK - 42.35 Holiday has been thriving recently, with his latest opus being a...
