Week 4 is here, and Doug and James are back to break down their cash game plays on DraftKings and FanDuel. While there is less obvious value heading into this week, things are taking a pretty clear direction early on. The guys agree that you're likely going to want to pay up at quarterback this week, picking between names Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, and Russell Wilson. Running back is going to look a lot different this week as well with fewer obvious cheap value options this week. DFSR is looking to lean on high usage guys like Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Derrick Henry, while trying to find some cheap targets from Mike Davis. Since we're spending up heavily at running back and quarterback we'll likely middle out wide receiver with high target value options like Tyler Lockett, Amari Cooper, and even a resurgent Keenan Allen. Tight end looks disastrous as always, but the guys make the case for Jimmy Graham after Nick Foles took over at QB and his production exploded. Love the DFSR podcast? Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4 Week 3 was a roller coaster, with far fewer injuries than week 2, but plenty of surprises nonetheless. What can we learn from week 3 while not overreacting? Let's go position by position and pin down the best cash game plays right now, understanding that things might change as the week progresses. Want access to the projections that power these picks? For a limited time we're offering a free one week trial to all the sports that we cover - that's optimal lineups for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB - for the same low price. Get started now! START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Russell Wilson FD 9000 DK 7800 Opponent MIAProj Points FD - 26.25 DK - 26.8 I mean what else can you say about the guy at this point? He’s been simply spectacular to start this season, exceeding expectations which is pretty amazing considering he came into the year ranked no worse than third in any active quarterback list. He’s already thrown 14 touchdowns to only one interception and has completed 77% of his passes. He’s *only* fourth in passing yards but that’s also because the offense has been so hyper-efficient that they don’t need to throw a ton of volume. Among the top-ten quarterbacks in passing yards, Wilson has the second-fewest attempts (103). This week he’ll get his easiest matchup yet as a 6.5 road favorite over the Dolphins. Miami held Gardner Minshew in check in Week 3, but gave it up to Josh Allen (QB3) and Cam Newton (QB7) in previous weeks. This is a smash spot for Wilson once again and could be even more so if Chris Carson is out and they rely on the pass even more. Kyler Murray FD 8400 DK 7000 Opponent CARProj Points FD - 24.29 DK - 25.08 Murray was a chalk play in week 2 on both FanDuel and DraftKings, but disappointed in a surprising loss at home to the Lions. He completed only 23 of his 35 passing attempts and threw three interceptions. He did end up with two passing touchdowns, but the Lions also held him to his fewest rushing yards (29) of the season. Look for a bounce-back game against the Panthers who haven’t had to face all that much pressure from opposing quarterbacks to start the season. They’ve played Derek Carr, Tom Brady, and Justin Herbert in the first three weeks. Murray will offer a different kind of challenge. They are a bottom-third defense and Murray still has a very high floor considering how he scores his points. I’m fine going back to him in cash games this week. Joe...

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor FD 6700 DK 5700 Opponent CAR Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Taylor suffered a punctured lung at the hands of a trainer before last week's game, and one has to wonder if Taylor or the trainer is having a worse week this week. Justin Herbert filled in and exceeded expectations last week, but the price has come up to the point where you're not exactly getting away with anything by playing him. I will say that, unlike typical situations where we get a back-up QB, the receiving options in LA are still playable here. Keenan Allen had 10 targets last week, and Hunter Henry had 8. Both should be on your radar in all formats. Jimmy Garoppolo FD 7000 DK 5600 Opponent NYG Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Drew Lock FD 6800 DK 5300 Opponent TB Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 I'll list the two major QB injuries together because they have the same impact, which is making the offenses for both teams essentially unplayable. I could think about playing a running back in the 49ers offense if we get definitive news as to where those carries are headed, but otherwise these two teams are relegated to big tournaments only. Running Backs Christian McCaffrey FD 10000 DK 9200 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Mike Davis FD 6000 DK 5100 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 15.25 DK - 18.05 With McCaffrey ruled out in the middle of the week 2 game, all eyes turned to Mike Davis. Davis had just 1 carry, but saw 8 targets in week 2, and appears to be the heir apparent to all those RB touches in Carolina. I expect we'll see some cash game ownership here, though it's not without risk given Carolina's deep underdog status in this one. Saquon Barkley FD 7500 DK 6300 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Barkley's season was tragically ended last week, and it leaves the Giants with a pretty unexciting running back by committee situation going forward. There's Dion Lewis, who has never done much in...

Doug and James get their heads together for their exhaustive game by game breakdown for the week 3 main slate on FanDuel and DraftKings. It's hard to remember a week more influenced by injuries, with big names across every position missing this week or done for the season. Not all punt plays are created equally, however, and the guys discuss the differences between grabbing back-ups for the Panthers, both New York teams, the 49ers, and more. Meanwhile, there are a number of wide receivers in new situations that we need to adjust. James and Doug talk about how they are readjusting their priors on guys like Stefon Diggs, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, and the various rookie wide receivers. They also discuss a few interesting betting plays. All in all, this is not a podcast you want to miss. Love the DFSR podcast? Go ahead and subscribe and listen wherever you get your daily podcasts. And our Week 3 Game-by-game podcast as well: Week 3 is a strange one for cash games, mostly because the plays seem very straight forward. A slew of running back injuries has left us with too many great punt options to choose from, with Jonathan Taylor, Jerick McKinnon, and Mike Davis all looking like great cash game options. When we have that much money left over we're basically just picking between big name stars at other positions. The guys discuss the choice between Cam Newton and Kyler Murray at quarterback, where it looks like site based pricing might be a deciding factor. Wide receiver lends itself to some interesting considerations as well, with the primary discussion trending around how much we can trust two weeks of stats this year versus stats from last year. Is Diontae Johnson the real deal? Can we expect Calvin Ridley to shoulder most of the targets in Atlanta? There is a lot to discuss. Finally the guys wrap things up at tight end, where we might have the luxury of paying up at tight end for the first (and perhaps last) time this season. Love the DFSR podcast?
