Games at risk Welcome to a new segment of the article called "games at risk," where we discuss games that might not play due to Covid-19. The joys of 2020. Earlier this week, Adam Schefter reported that the Falcons had received at least four positive tests, and that their game was in jeopardy. As the story unfolded, it turned out to be just one staff member, and on Friday the Falcons returned to practice. As of now, the Vikings vs. Falcons game looks like a go. The Colts shut down their practice facility on Friday after some unknown number of positive tests. It is not yet known how this will impact Sunday's game, but as of right now the Colts vs. Bengals game is currently at risk of not being played. We'll keep you updated as any of these situations develop. Quarterback Drew Lock FD 6700 DK 5400 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 13.61 DK - 14.31 Cam Newton FD 8000 DK 6500 Opponent DEN Proj Points FD - 18.74 DK - 19.41 Both Cam Newton and Drew Lock are on track to return for Sunday's game against one another. Newton had an asymptomatic Covid-19 case and should be treated as exactly the same guy he was before he was sidelined, and while the Patriots aren't the most exciting DFS team, he's an interesting play in his own right. Lock is not a playable DFS option, and his return really doesn't impact our projections of the Broncos in any meaningful way. Often times getting a QB back makes a team more interesting, but we need to see more production from Lock before we make that declaration. Baker Mayfield FD 7000 DK 5700 Opponent PIT Proj Points FD - 14.45 DK - 15.47 Mayfield has been trending in the right direction throughout the week, and while he's not a play in and of himself against this brutal Steelers defense, it would bring guys like Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry into "interesting big tournament play" status. If Case Keenum starts for Mayfield I can't imagine playing either of those guys in any format. Running Back Dalvin Cook FD 9500 DK 8000 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 2.01 DK - 2.42 Cook has missed...

It's difficult to do a game by game breakdown when some games might not even play this week (I'm looking at you, Atlanta-Minnesota), but here we are. With 4 teams on byes, a few games that are totally irrelevant for DFS purposes, and not a whole lot of intriguing injuries, this will be one of the more challenging weeks in recent memory. "Safety" might not be a word that applies to this slate when it's all said and done, so it could be more about trying to capture upside while grabbing safety where you can. That said, it will be more important than ever to get the fine details as correct as possible. Is this a game script where we could see James Conner return to a great share of the carries? Can we trust any Titans at all on record low rest after a Tuesday night game? How much should we be weighing match-ups this week? Is Detroit's incredible match-up with the Jags enough to vault them into lineups? And likewise, do guys like Joe Mixon or Kareem Hunt have such bad match-ups that we need to cross them off? There are an incredible amount of questions heading into this week, and the DFSR guys are here to do their best to answer them. Love the DFSR podcast? Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! The uncertainty train rolls on, with Atlanta catching multiple positive Covid-19 tests on Wednesday morning. The DFSR team soldiers on, giving you their cash game plays for week 6. On FanDuel, quarterback has one clear leader of the pack in DeShaun Watson. On DraftKings, the guys discuss potentially chasing some cheaper options in Ryan Fitzpatrick or Matthew Stafford. It's a very short main slate, and the savings might matter more than ever. Two running back plays look fairly locked in right now, with Mike Davis and Alexander Mattison leading the pack by a fair margin. If Mattison doesn't play, however, things get dicey in a hurry. The guys discuss other options, like Ronald Jones Jr., Aaron Jones, and even Kareem Hunt in a tough match-up. Wide receiver gives us a few more great mid-range options in Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson, and then a wide variety of options to choose from after that. Can we trust Calvin Ridley if Julio Jones returns? What about Chase Claypool or Travis Fulgham? Wide receiver is very interesting this week, with a number of directions to turn. Tight end is a mess as usual, with Jonnu Smith leading a very uninspiring field. Enjoy the podcast! Love the DFSR podcast? Go ahead and subscribe and listen wherever you get your daily podcasts. Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent TEN Proj Points FD - 22.48 DK - 23.25 In his first game, post-Bill O’Brien, Watson had his best game of the season against the Jaguars. He threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns while also getting out for 25 rushing yards. Sure, Jacksonville is the league’s worst defense, but it was good to see Watson return to some of the big-number form we’d seen from him in years past. After a brutal scheduling run to start the season, we may be getting the old Watson back now. Unfortunately, the matchup against the Titans isn’t exactly ideal coming off a week in which they shut down Josh Allen. But Watson still is about as dynamic a quarterback as you’ll find on this slate and the price hasn’t gotten all the way back after some early-season struggles. Ryan Fitzpatrick FD 7400 DK 5900 Opponent NYJ Proj Points FD - 20.59 DK - 21.63 Between byes, scheduling and injuries, the top five DraftKings-scoring quarterbacks aren’t on this slate so we are going to have to a dig a bit deeper this week to find some value at the position. Fitzpatrick has had a solid if unspectacular start to the season though some of that is a volume issue. Miami has two games already in which they were in complete control (SF in Week 5, JAX in Week 3) and Fitzpatrick didn’t top 30 passing attempts in either. But he’s also had two games (SEA in Week 4, NE in Week 1) in which he failed to record a passing touchdown and threw five combined interceptions. So it’s been an up-and-down season. This week he gets the Jets who rank 31st against the pass which is even more damning when you see they had three weeks of Brett Rypien, Jimmy G and the no-pass Colts. Fitzpatrick keeps the floor higher with gains on the ground, ranking fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards this season and he’s a total bargain on DraftKings. Matthew Stafford FD 7300 DK 6300 Opponent JAX Proj Points FD - 21.12 DK - 21.91 Stafford gets the aforementioned Jaguars this week who rank dead last against the pass in part because they allow a league-worst 8.7 passing yards per attempt. That’s a half yard more than the next...

Quarterback Lamar Jackson FD 8900 DK 7900 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 22.07 DK - 22.57 Lamar Jackson has missed back to back practices for the first time in his career, and while he should be ready for Sunday's game against the Bengals, this might be enough for me to just stay away. It's hard to imagine that the Ravens are going to take any risks with their franchise quarterback, especially when he's nursing a knee injury, and this could limit Lamar in the running game in particular. I'm staying away from the Ravens' offense as a result. Jimmy Garoppolo FD 6700 DK 5500 Opponent MIA Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Garoppolo has been trending in the right direction, practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week, but without any brace or other ankle support. To be clear, he is not a play this week regardless, but his presence might been better things for the San Francisco passing game. I have to say, though, that I don't know if it would improve our projections for George Kittle, who popped off last week in Garoppolo's absence. Update: Garoppolo will be playing this weekend. Sam Darnold FD 6600 DK 5500 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Darnold has been ruled out this week, leaving Joe Flacco to steer the offense against the Cardinals. This is almost meaningless for DFS purposes, but deeper sleepers like Jamison Crowder become unplayable with Flacco under center. Drew Lock FD 6500 DK 5300 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 It's a big week for quarterback news, with Drew Lock also potentially returning to action this week against New England. Right now it looks like Brett Rypien will be under center for the Broncos, which would take any Broncos off the table in any format, for me. If Lock were to return I'm not even sure that I'd be interested in this beat up Denver offense in a tough match-up with the Patriots. Dwayne Haskins Jr. FD 6600 DK 5100 Opponent LAR Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 While he's not injured, Haskins has lost the Football Team (really?) starting job going into this game against the...
