Check out last night's MLB Picks to get you started Brief Summary: As Ollie Williams from Family Guy says, "It going to rain!" in Kansas City today and some of it is going to stick around into the evening hours. Here is a simulated radar for 7 PM: Looks like the "solid shield" of rain is in the process of breaking up some.  I always look for the "solid shield" signal which often leads to PPD and delays. . There will continue to be showers or some bands of steady rain that pivot into the city through the evening. And they are going to have ALOT of rain today. MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S). It is going to be very chilly as well so that may factor into whether or not they play tonight. I am not expecting anything more than a few showers for MIN at DET but I will keep an eye on the Motor City as we get closer to 1st pitch. Here is a simulated radar for 7 PM: VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)     Good Hitting Environments: -There will be a wind blowing out to right for CIN at CLE (though many DFS sites do not have this game as part of their slate) -MIA at PHL will also see a wind blowing out to rightfield. Poor Hitting Environments: -BOS at KC will be played in chilly and wet conditions with a wind blowing in from right. -Chilly temperatures for ATL at PIT.      Thirsty for more weather? We've got you completely covered. Check out last night's MLB Picks to get you started Brief Summary TOR at TEX may see a few thunderstorms scattered across the region this afternoon but the activity looks unimpressive to say the least. Will keep an eye on the region. VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)   NYM at COL is more worrisome to me than the game in TEX. By looking at the simulated radars shown below you can see why: 4 PM 5 PM Rain is forecast to impact Denver this afternoon. Not exactly a showery rain but not a steady rain either. I do not expect a PPD as the rain is moving but I could not completely rule one out either. Delay(s) seem possible. LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF A PPD/MODERATE CHANCE OF SOME TYPE OF DELAY(S)   Good Hitting Environments: -NYM at COL will be played with always present extreme of very low air density which helps batted balls carry an average of 9% farther. (Plus the wind is blowing out to left today) -Even with relatively chilly temperatures expected, a strong wind blowing out to right will help batters in the DET at BLT and HOU at BOS games. Poor Hitting Environments: -Very chilly temperatures will be found in CLE and CHC. Not quite as chilly but still not very warm in PHL, DC, NYY and KC.        Thirsty for more weather? We've got you completely covered. Check out last night's MLB Picks to get you started Brief Summary MIA at WSH (game #1) will begin dry. The problem is that they may not end that way as a batch of rain is expected to push in around 4-6 PM. If this timing is correct,  they would be able to play most, if not all, of this game  (1:05 EDT start time). Problems arise if a) the rain gets in there a bit faster and b) if the game goes long. I will watch this region but it does not seem like a huge deal right now (at least the 1st game). VERY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD/LOW CHANCE OF A DELAY LATE IN THE GAME DET at BLT and MIA at WSH (2nd game) will see this same batch of rain leaving this region a few hours later at the scheduled 1st pitch time of 7:05 EDT. So, again, it is all about the timing. If the models I am using are correct, they should be able to play. If the rain is a bit slower, then we have problems (worst case scenario is probably a late start to the game as this rain is moving away). VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/IN-GAME DELAY; LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START CIN at PHL, being further east geographically, will see the rain mentioned above stick around a bit longer and thus this game is slightly more worrisome. By 8 PM there is one more batch of rain to push through. Assuming the timing is dead on here (which is probably is not). So while I think they are able to play this game, there is a bit more of a PPD risk simply if the rain sticks around awhile longer. LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/MODERATE CHANCE OF ANY TYPE...

We've got you completely covered. Check out last night's MLB Picks to get you started Brief Summary Light to moderate rain will affect the I-95 corridor for much of the day. Scheduled 1st pitches for CHW at NYY, DET at BLT, MIA at WSH and CIN at PHL occur this evening and by that time rain should be just about or already left the region. So if the timing is correct here, there should not be a problem with these games. But timing the rain this far out could be off and that could make a huge difference. LOW CHANCE OF PPD/IN-GAME DELAY, LOW TO MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START TO THE GAME. As we go through the afternoon, I will be better able to nail down the timing. HOU at BOS will see rain from the same system mentioned above but because they are the furthest east, the wet weather will stick around the longest. Rain has JUST begun near scheduled 1st pitch and we have 2-4 hours of a light to moderate rain to wait out. As mentioned above, timing can and will change as we go through the day. MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S) ATL at KC will see thunderstorms this evening. In real estate, it is all about location. In the strange mix of meteorology and DFS, it is all about timing. A rather nasty looking line of possibly severe weather has cleared the region well before the 8:15 EDT scheduled 1st pitch and we should not have any problems here. If these storms are just a bit slower leaving, then we have a potential problem. LOW CHANCE OF A PPD; LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START       Good Hitting Environments: -Whenever the Rockies are at home, the advantage of being over 5,000 feet above sea level its affect...

We've got you completely covered. Check out last night's MLB Picks to get you started Brief Summary PHL at ATL will be in a "steamy" environment that may cause a few thunderstorms. I am not expecting a big problem but thunderstorms will be scattered about the region. If one were to develop over the stadium and not really move much, we would see the worst case scenario. LOW CHANCE OF PPD/LOW TO MAYBE MODERATE CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S) BLT, NYY and BOS should not experience a problem. However, I will watch these regions because rain is expected to move in AFTER the games are over. If the rain were to speed up, we could be talking in-game delays but as of right now I do not see that. Good Hitting Environments -If the roof is open, SF at AZ will see extreme heat that will lead to low air density. -Warm and humid with a light wind blowing out to right for PHL at ATL. Poor Hitting Environment -The three AL East teams of BOS, NYY and BLT will all have home games played in relatively cool weather. Thirsty for more weather? Visit MLB DFS Weather for even more info.
