If you want breakdowns on those guy head over there. Early & Afternoon Slate J.A. Happ FD 8400 DK 8100 Opponent - MIN (Dean) Park - @MINFD - 32.91 DK - 17.57 Personally I think the early only slate is kinda gross and is extremely thin on pitching, but if that's your sort of thing then I would strongly recommend rolling with J.A. Happ. Happ isn't exactly what you'd call a big league ace, but he doesn't walk many guys and he strikes out enough hitters to be considered a viable fantasy option. The real value here comes with the matchup as the Twins have just been horrendous against left-handed pitching on the season. The Twinkies rank 8th in the league in strikeout % against southpaws (24.5%) and 29th in both OPS and wOBA. Combine that with the fact that Happ will be up against a guy making his first big league start and you've got yourself one of the best pitching options on the early slate that will probably get overlooked. Drew Smyly FD 9300 DK 10700 Opponent - DET (Fulmer) Park - @DETFD - 35.17 DK - 19.49 Another southpaw option that is pitching in the afternoon that is slightly more expensive than Happ is Drew Smyly, who is up against the Tigers @ Comerica Park today. The Tigers have been pretty pathetic versus left-handed pitching this season, ranking 27th in wOBA, OPS, and wRC+ against that particular split. In addition, the Tigers strikeout 21.6%...

We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Early Slate Toronto Blue Jays vs. Pat Dean(Twins) If you're looking for some serious firepower then this is the stack for you. The Blue Jays rank 8th in the league in home runs hit off of left-handed pitchers, and they've got plenty of guys who know how to crush bad pitching. Speaking of bad pitching, let's take a look at Pat Dean, who will be making his first big league start this afternoon. Although he's got a K/9 of 7.88 right now, prior to being called up to the majors he didn't have a K/9 much above 5 since he was in single A all the way back in 2011. This is big for the Blue Jays, who have a tendency to strikeout at a rate above the league average. For this particular stack I like the usual suspects in Josh Donaldson, Troy Tulowitzki, and Jose Bautista, and these three guys can be paired with either Justin Smoak or Russell Martin (depending on who's hitting in a more advantageous lineup spot, although I tend to lean...

You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Stack Targets Cleveland Indians vs. Tim Adleman(Reds) My favorite stack of the day has to be the Cleveland Indians offense going up against the inexperienced Tim Adleman in the hitter's haven that is Great American Ballpark. Adleman has only thrown 16 big league innings in his career, and while his numbers suggest he's doing a decent enough job, there are definitely areas in his game that can be exploited (namely his struggles against left-handed hitters). Although it is a small sample size of only 29 batters faced, Adleman is allowing lefties to hit .346/.414/.615 against him, and has already given up two home runs. Because of this, I would suggest stacking as many left-handed Indians as you can. Our system likes Carlos Santana (OPS of .874 vs right-handed pitching), Jason Kipnis (.909 OPS vs right-handed pitching), Tyler Naquin ( .316 batting average vs right-handed pitching), and Francisco Lindor (who is better against southpaws, but still good against righties). Combine all of that with the fact that Great American Ballpark is second only to Coors Field in terms of...

This is the same information that James wrote up yesterday as it still applies since Game 1 is tonight Toronto Raptors at the Cleveland Cavaliers Analysis Could these two teams be coming into this game with more different post-season experiences thus far? The Raptors have played fully 6 more games than the Cavaliers over the same stretch of time, and are missing their starting center. They've been in back to back rock fights, reserving really any good play until game 7 of the Heat series, when their guards finally went off. So am I crazy for saying I don't hate Toronto's chances to at least keep it close in these games? The Cavs are relatively weak when it comes to back-court defense, and the Raptors went out and got Demarre Carroll specifically for match-ups like LeBron. The Raptors shouldn't need to rely on Valanciunas' low post scoring here, and Biyombo is actually a welcome defensive presence down low for them here. Top Plays LeBron James - FD 9800 DK 10800 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 53.41 DK Proj. Pts - 55.54 LeBron nearly averaged a triple double in the last two games of the Hawks series, and while the Raptors play quite a bit more slowly than the Hawks, the Hawks make up for some of their fast play by having the 2nd highest defensive efficiency in the league. When healthy, Carroll is a tougher defender than anyone who guarded LeBron on the Hawks, but he isn't. I don't know that LeBron has huge upside here, but he seems awfully safe. Kyrie Irving - FD 7100 DK 8200 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 38.54 DK Proj. Pts - 40.66 Kevin Love - FD 7500 DK 8400 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 36.35 DK Proj. Pts - 38.79 The other two Cleveland stars are simply underpriced, here. The Raptors were the toughest match-up in the league for opposing point guards this season, but...

Stack Targets Minnesota Twins vs. Mike Pelfrey(Detroit) Another day, another article that picks on Mike Pelfrey. I promise that we don't have anything personal against the guy, he's just really not what we consider to be a serviceable big league pitcher. What you need to know about Pelfrey is that he's got an ERA and an xFIP closing in on 6, he's allowed almost as many walks as he has strikeouts, and has already given up 6 home runs this season. I know he had a decent outing against Baltimore his last time out, but I think that was more of a fluke than a sustainable trend. Comerica Park is actually an above average hitters park (which surprised me), and for what it's worth Pelfrey's ERA balloons to 7.04 when he's at home. For the Twins stack, our system really likes Joe Mauer, Brian Dozier, Trevor Plouffe, and Miguel Sano. Each of these guys has struggled a bit this season, but who better to have a break-out game against than one of the worst big league starting pitchers?...
