It looks like FanDuel and DraftKings want to avoid the Coors Field game, and that's just fine with us. What's also bizarre is that we had the Yankees-Twins game postponed already. That limits some good hitters with those two games out the window, and we haven't even discussed the pitching landscape. There are literally no aces on this slate, and it should allow you to construct things however you please. We have to ride some arms, though, so let's kick things off with a St Louis legend. Pitchers Adam Wainwright FD 9600 DK 9300 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - PIT FD - 37.19 DK - 19.53 It's pretty strange that Wainwright is the most trustworthy pitcher on this slate, but it's a good indicator of how weak the position is today. We really shouldn't talk bad about Waino, though, having one of the best seasons of his career. In fact, the 39-year-old has a 3.26 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this season, allowing four runs or fewer in 23 straight starts. That's an amazing run of consistency, and we believe it will continue in this matchup. Pittsburgh currently ranks 29th in both xwWOBA and OPS, which was on full display when Wainwright threw a two-hit shutout against them just last week. If he does that again here, Waino will be a lock in every optimal lineup out there. Nathan Eovaldi FD 8800 DK 9500 Opponent - TEX (Kolby Allard) Park - TEX FD - 38.15 DK - 20.49 Man, this feels nuts. Eovaldi is a guy that I never target, but this is one of those slates where you're going to have to ride with him. We say that because he's been pitching above expectations and gets a spectacular matchup here. Let's kick things off by talking about that, with Texas ranked dead-last in runs scored and xwOBA. That puts any pitcher in play against them, especially one as solid as this. This year, Eovaldi has a 3.91 ERA and 1.20 WHIP, scoring 50 combined DK points over his last two outings. We definitely believe he can add to that here with the Sox entering this matchup as a -300 favorite. Carlos Hernandez is a sneaky pick for the Royals if you want to save some salary, facing a Cubs lineup that ranks dead-last in K rate. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 4400 DK 6200 Opponent...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 8/18/21

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 8/18/21 It feels crazy to say, but we're getting close to the end of the season. There's only a month, and some change left, making things exciting from a DFS perspective. This is where the good teams separate themselves from the poor ones, leading to some lopsided results. The good news is that we've been on some of the right ends of those games, and we're going to look to do that again here. We need to start things off by talking about the arms, though, so let's go ahead and get into it! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Charlie Morton FD - P 9200 DK - SP 9700 Opponent - MIA (Jesús Luzardo) Park - MIA FD - 34.68 DK - 19.09 Morton has been one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball over the last decade, and he's been feeling it recently. Over his last 11 starts, Morton has maintained a 2.51 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 10.6 K/9 rate. One of those came against this Marlins team, throwing seven scoreless en route to 52 FanDuel points. A gem like that is no surprise when you see his form, but it's even less surprising when you consider this matchup. Morton gets to face a Marlins team that ranks 26th in scoring, 27th in OPS, and dead-last in xwOBA. That's terrifying since they play in one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks in baseball, making Morton all the more intriguing. Jack Flaherty FD - P 10100 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - MIL (Freddy Peralta) Park - STL FD - 34.01 DK - 18.4 It seems like people forget just how special this guy is. Flaherty will be a Cy Young candidate for the next decade, and he's only being priced like a front-end starter. We're talking about a pitcher with a 3.12 ERA and 1.04 WHIP since 2018, posting a 2.65 ERA and 0.97 WHIP this season. Some might worry that he's not in form after missing so much time, but six two-hit innings in his return is a sign that he's ready to go. Milwaukee might look tough when you look at the standings, but the offense is far from worrisome. In fact, the Brewers rank 28th in OPS and 27th in xBA. That certainly appeared to be the case when Flaherty threw six scoreless against them in their one meeting earlier this year. Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD - 1B 3900 DK - 1B/2B 5700 Opponent -...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! This is a bizarre slate. There really aren't many pitchers that we're completely comfortable with, but there's a couple of five-figure guys you can ride. The rest of the options are downright ugly, though, and it's going to lead to some chalky lineups. What's also going to be chalky is the Boston Red Sox stack. They're projected for more than six runs, and rightfully so. Sometimes it's a good idea to fade chalk, but Boston feels like a lock today. With that in mind, let's kick things off with some of those pitchers we mentioned before. Pitchers Eduardo Rodriguez FD 8000 DK 9800 Opponent - BAL (Keegan Akin) Park - BAL FD - 27.97 DK - 15.15 This game has a high run total, but E-Rod is a big favorite at -280 at home against the Orioles. Again, you do not like the 10.5 over/under coming in, but the win odds are really in his favor if he can get through five innings. And the strikeout potential is definitely there against Baltimore. Rodriguez is putting down batters almost 30% of the time this season and has the lowest walk rate of his career. Sean Manaea FD 9600 DK 10400 Opponent - TEX (Kolby Allard) Park - TEX FD - 32.58 DK - 16.88 Manaea was a guy we used to fade because of his lack of strikeouts, but something has changed. Over his last 14 starts, Manaea has a 2.82 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 10.7 K/9 rate. Those are some shocking numbers, but it makes him one of the best options on the board. What really adds to his intrigue here is this tasty matchup with Texas. The Rangers currently rank dead-last in OBP and OPS, freefalling down the standings. The Rangers ballpark used to be a tough cookie to crack, but it's actually developed into one of the most pitcher-friendly parks once they moved to Globe Life Field. Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD 3400 DK 4700 Opponent - KC (Kris Bubic) Park - KC FD - 13.1 DK - 9.85 We absolutely love the Cardinals in this spot. Guys like Nolan Arenado and Tyler O'Neill are fantastic options, but Goldy is the guy we want to use. We say that because he's killed left-handers throughout his career, posting an OPS just shy of .950 against them. That alone makes him a good option, but Goldy is absolutely rolling right now. Over his last...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! I've been away for about a month recovering from ACL surgery, but I'm back and ready to go! The amount of baseball I've watched over the last month is absolutely terrifying, but it has me ready for these final two months of the year. This is a fun slate to kick things off with, too, because we have some absolute aces in some grand slam spots. With that in mind, let's start things off with those arms! Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 11000 DK - RP 10300 Opponent - CHC (Jake Arrieta) Park - CHC FD - 40.37 DK - 23.31 Burnes is third in terms of NL Cy Young odds, and he's earned every bit of it with his ridiculous 2021 season. While the 6-4 record is hurting his case, his 2.39 ERA and 0.96 WHIP certainly is not. What makes him truly special is his ability to strike out hitters, generating a 12.5 K/9 rate for the season. That's obviously one of the best rates around, and it should be easy to roll through a Cubs lineup that just traded Anthony Rizzo, Javy Baez, and Kris Bryant. He actually faced this lineup at full boar once earlier this season and threw six scoreless, two-hit innings while striking out 10 Cubbies. Kevin Gausman FD - P 10300 DK - SP 9900 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park - SF FD - 40.84 DK - 22.57 We hate to recommend two of the highest-priced pitchers on the board, but it's pretty much impossible to fade both of these guys. These two studs are Top-5 in terms of NL Cy Young odds, and Gausman has to be one of the favorites with the way he's been carrying the Giants. While his last four starts have been a little down by his standards, Gaus still has a 2.31 ERA and 0.95 WHIP for the year. A 10.7 K/9 rate backs those absurd averages, winning seemingly every time out. That's awful news for Arizona, striking out 29 times over their last two games. They're also ranked bottom-10 in nearly every offensive metric out there and have allowed KG to accrue a 1.42 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in three starts against them this year. If you want someone cheaper, Tyler Anderson gets to face a 27th-ranked Texas offense and has allowed three runs or fewer in all but three starts this year. Catcher/First Base Max Muncy FD...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday, 7/1/21 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! This week has been crazy. It feels like Shohei Ohtani, Joey Gallo, and Kyle Schwarber homer every day, with the league OPS creeping up by 15 points in a one-week span. That's an indicator of how much the ball is flying right now, and you probably understand by the heat across the country. That means finding the right pitchers is more critical than ever, and there's 3-4 guys we absolutely love on this slate. Let's go ahead and start with two of those players! Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 10600 DK - RP 9200 Opponent - PIT (Wil Crowe) Park - PIT FD - 44.44 DK - 25.32 Milwaukee has quietly developed one of the best rotations in baseball, and this guy is a major reason why. Big Burnes has a 2.53 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 115/14 K:BB rate to kick off his Cy Young campaign. Those are truly absurd numbers, with CB providing a ridiculous 13.9 K/9 rate as well. Those crazy figures have led to an imposing floor for Burnes, scoring at least 22 FanDuel points in all 13 starts while dropping at least 39 fantasy points in nine of those. That would make him a great option against anyone, but he happens to have one of the best matchups in baseball here. The Pirates currently rank 28th in OBP and dead-last in both wOBA and wOBACON. All of that is backed by the fact that Pittsburgh is projected for just three runs here, with Burnes entering this matchup as a -220 favorite. Ian Anderson FD - P 8400 DK - SP 7100 Opponent - NYM (Jacob deGrom) Park - ATL FD - 42.57 DK - 22.62 This pricing is crazy. Anderson established himself as an up-and-coming stud last year and has carried that form over to this year. In fact, Mr. Anderson has a 3.28 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 9.5 K/9 rate through 15 starts this year. That's slightly below his amazing averages last year, but it makes these price tags hard to understand. The $7,100 DraftKings price tag is especially egregious, with IA playing at a $9,000 level. What makes it even crazier is the fact that he has a superb matchup, with the Mets ranked 28th in OBP while scoring the fewest runs in baseball. That was pretty clear when Anderson pitched 5.1 scoreless innings against them just last week. If you have the salary, Jacob deGrom is...
