DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 8/3/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 8/3/22 How wild was that trade deadline? The Padres went full-on beast mode and added across the board, making them one of the most dangerous teams in baseball. That will have San Diego and Los Angeles battling all season, leaving the rest of the NL West in shambles. In any case, it's still anyone's ring to take down, and it'll be fun to watch these final 2-3 months play out. With that said, there were a ton of moves yesterday, and it's unclear who will be ready to suit up here. Keep an eye on lineups and only play if you can be face-first on your computer screen up until first pitch! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. Pitchers Shohei Ohtani FD - P 11300 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - OAK (James Kaprielian) Park - LAA FD - 38.35 DK - 21.15 Many people were speculating that Shohei would be on the move at the trade deadline, but any reasonable person knows LA couldn't trade the most valuable player in baseball. We'll use Ohtani on the mound today because he's been one of the best pitchers in the sport. Shohei has a 1.73 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 13.8 K/9 rate over his last eight starts. Those are averages you'd usually see from an elite reliever, making him tough to fade behind that ridiculous K rate. Facing Oakland is outstanding, too, with the A's ranked 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. Look for him to be a -200 favorite in this spot, with the A's projected for a minuscule run total. Blake Snell FD - P 9100 DK - SP 7900 Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - SD FD - 34.55 DK - 18.87 Snell was horrible through his first 10 starts, but the former Cy Young winner has been hitting his stride for a month now. Over his last five starts, Snell has a 2.81 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 14.0 K/9 rate. That WHIP isn't great, but it doesn't matter when you're striking out three batters every two innings. That should be even easier to do against the Rockies, with Colorado owning the worst road offense in baseball last season. They've been better this year, but it's scary with Snell posting a 2.94 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 12.6 K/9 rate at home since 2020. The oddsmakers certainly love Snell, projecting San Diego as a -300 favorite in this spot, with Colorado...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/31/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/31/22 The next 48 hours are going to be wild. This could be one of the craziest trade deadlines ever, with superstars like Juan Soto and Shohei Ohtani rumored as major targets. There will undoubtedly be many other unanticipated moves, and it could lead to chaos over the next three DFS slates. Not only will we have some strange lineups, but rotations could also change. With that said, there are so many good pitching options on this slate. We didn't even get Shane McClanahan in here, and he's been one of the best pitchers in baseball. We have two other aces that we love, though, so let's start there! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Dylan Cease FD - P 10900 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - OAK (Adam Oller) Park - CHW FD - 39.32 DK - 21.73 Cease is the best option on this slate, and it's not close. Despite not making the All-Star team, Cease is one of the frontrunners for AL Cy Young. The hard-throwing right-hander has allowed one run or fewer in 11-straight starts, generating a 0.42 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in that span. That makes him tough to fade, but he's also leading all starters with a 12.5 K/9 rate for the season. That's a godsend for DFS, and we haven't even discussed that he faces the worst lineup in baseball. Oakland ranks 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA, with Cease entering this matchup as a -260 favorite. Aaron Nola FD - P 10700 DK - SP 9700 Opponent - PIT (JT Brubaker) Park - PIT FD - 40.76 DK - 21.92 Nola's 6-8 record might look ugly, but this guy has been pitching like an ace all season. The Phillies righty has a 3.32 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, striking out 144 batters across 132.2 innings. Those are some of the best averages in fantasy, with Nola throwing at least seven innings in eight of his last nine starts. He should be able to reach that threshold again here, with Pittsburgh sitting 28th in runs scored and OBP while sitting 29th in K rate and OPS. That's no surprise since Nola has at least 30 FanDuel points in his last five matchups with the Pirates, entering this matchup as a -190 favorite in a game with a seven-run total. Reid Detmers (FD $8300/DK $7600) is a solid cheap option against a 24th-ranked Texas offense, posting a...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/27/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/27/22 This is one of the strangest slates I've seen all year. We have almost every team in action, but there are not many teams playing at the same time. In fact, there aren't more than two games that start at the exact same time, with four games happening in the early afternoon, five games in the mid-afternoon, and five games at night. We usually try to focus on one slate, but we'll spread the love here. It's the dealer's choice in terms of which slate you want to play, so hopefully, we will provide you with some good plays throughout all of them! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Kevin Gausman FD 10400 DK 9300 Opponent - STL (Adam Wainwright) Park - STL FD - 47.51 DK - 25.95 Gausman has the highest pitching projection, by far, for Wednesday and it's with good reason. He's a massive -264 favorite at home against the Cardinals who didn't bring their whole team to Toronto because of restrictions. Gausman has been excellent this season, sporting a 3.00 ERA and 2.73 xFIP while striking out batters at a 10.55 clip and sporting a 6.4 K:BB ratio. He's the top play for the whole day, going in the evening in this matchup. Cristian Javier FD - P 9800 DK - SP 8700 Opponent - OAK (Cole Irvin) Park - OAK FD - 40.44 DK - 21.9 The Stros churn out starters year after year, and Javier is yet another gem they've stumbled into. The right-hander has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for a month now, tallying a 3.03 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 13.7 K/9 rate across his last seven starts. He's done that damage despite facing the Yankees twice, and a matchup with Oakland should keep him rolling. The A's rank 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. In his last three starts against the A's, Javier has allowed just four runs across 15 innings while striking out 20 batters. All of that has Javier entering this matchup as a -210 favorite, with Oakland projected for just 3.5 runs. Drew Rasmussen FD - P 7300 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - BAL (Tyler Wells) Park - BAL FD - 33.42 DK - 18.43 It's hard to understand why Rasmussen remains so cheap. This guy has been another fantastic find for the Rays, registering a 3.13 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this year. He's usually capped...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/17/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 7/17/22 This is the final slate before the All-Star break! These tend to be strange slates because many star players rest before they go on and participate in the LA festivities. I'm not so sure that will happen here, but it'll be interesting to see what these lineups look like. In any case, we have two elite pitchers that we love, so let's get started there! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shane Bieber FD - P 10500 DK - SP 9400 Opponent - DET (Beau Brieske) Park - CLE FD - 34.08 DK - 18.42 Bieber has been one of the best pitchers in baseball since 2018, and it's hard to understand why he's below $10K on DraftKings. The right-hander allowed seven runs to the Blue Jays back in the first week of May but has a 2.73 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 9.3 K/9 rate in his other 17 starts this year. That alone makes him a good option against anyone, but this Detroit team ranks 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. Biebs has also had his way against them throughout his career, collecting a 2.61 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 11.7 K/9 rate in 11 starts against the Motor City Kitties. That's why he'll likely be a -250 favorite in this sensational spot! Aaron Nola FD - P 10200 DK - SP 9900 Opponent - MIA (Trevor Rogers) Park - MIA FD - 40.96 DK - 22.22 Nola is extremely unlucky to have a 5-7 record because his 3.35 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 9.7 K/9 rate are some of the best marks in baseball. He's become a horse for his team, too, throwing at least seven innings in seven consecutive starts. That's some Sandy Alcantara stuff right there, and Nola will undoubtedly put it to Sandy's team here. We say that because the Marlins rank 19th in OPS and 23rd in OBP. They're even worse than those statistics indicate, playing without their best player, Jazz Chisholm. All of that has Miami projected for just 3.5 runs in, with Aaron entering this matchup as a -160 favorite. Mike Clevinger (FD $7800 DK $8400) is a good pivot if you want to save some salary. He has a 3.79 ERA and 1.17 WHIP and faces a 25th-ranked Arizona offense here as a -160 favorite. Catcher/First Base Rhys Hoskins FD - 1B 3400 DK - 1B 4800 Opponent - MIA (Trevor Rogers) Park -...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/13/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 7/13/22 Many people complain about this time of the year, but it's a fantastic time to be a sports fan in my humble opinion. We're deep into the baseball season and still have Summer League and The Open to look forward to this weekend. We dropped a golf article yesterday, but we'll keep the baseball grind going here. There are two offenses we absolutely love on this slate, with the Yankees and Padres standing above the rest. We need some value pitchers to match with those offenses, though, so let's start there! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Jon Gray FD - P 9000 DK - SP 7700 Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - TEX FD - 35.98 DK - 18.93 As someone who watched Gray get blown up in Coors Field over the last five years, I knew this guy would be successful once he got out of that ballpark. Not many people can be successful in Colorado, and a move to Texas has changed Gray's career. The righty has scored at least 29 FanDuel points in each of his last six starts, providing a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 10.8 K/9 rate in that span. You can't ask for any more from a player in this price range, especially since he has the best matchup in fantasy. The A's rank 29th or 30th in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. That has Gray entering this matchup as a -190 favorite, with Oakland projected for just 3.5 runs! Brady Singer FD - P 7600 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - DET (Tarik Skubal) Park - KC FD - 30.1 DK - 15.35 This is a risky play, but Singer is the best option if you want to stack expensive offenses like the Yankees. Singer's biggest asset is his matchup, facing a Detroit team that has scored the fewest runs in baseball while sitting bottom-three in OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. That makes them a good matchup for anyone, but Singer has been in tune outside of one dud against Houston. Brady has a 3.56 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 8.8 K/9 rate in his other 12 appearances this year. That's fantastic from a sub-$8K player, and it should continue against the Motor City Kitties, with Singer dropping 35 FD points in this matchup earlier this season. Pablo López (FD $10000 DK $10800) gets a home start against the Pittsburgh Pirates and should cruise to a...
