Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 05/26/18 We already highlighted Aaron Nola and Alex Wood in our Saturday 5/26/18 picks article. We also highlighted the Rockies as a popular game stack. Here we will look at some other (possible GPP) considerations. Pitchers Jack Flaherty FD 7500 DK 10900 Opponent - PIT (Trevor Williams) Park - PIT FD - 29.2 DK - 14.7 Flaherty is a play with huge upside potential on FanDuel given this disparity in pricing between the sites, but you can also consider Flaherty on DraftKings, as he is still cheaper than both Nola and Roark. I mentioned targeting Flaherty with Josh Harrison at second base in the picks article for today, and Harrison has played well since coming back off the DL, while the Pirates as a whole have been a solid offense this season. They're ranked eighth against RHP with a .322 wOBA. Still, there is a lot to like about Flaherty in today's matchup. With just four starts this season, Flaherty doesn't count as a "qualified" pitcher, but still, his 2.31 ERA is second best among today's early slate pitchers, and he's ranked equally as well in xFIP (3.34)with a 10.41 K/9 and an 11.5% swinging strike rate. The kids throwing straight heat, allowing just one earned run in three of his four starts, and sure statistically his worst showing of the season came against these same pirates in this same park, but that's why we're limiting Flaherty to tournaments. St. Louis comes into the day a slight -115 favorite and Flaherty is coming off of his best start to date against the Phillies last weekend. If he can keep that pace going in the steel city this afternoon he's going to crush on that FanDuel price while providing some salary relief on DraftKings to buy up on bats. Jose Quintana FD 8300 DK 8100 Opponent - SF (Chris Stratton) Park - CHC FD - 31.99 DK - 16.83 I had mentioned in the picks article to consider Jose Quintana as a pivot from Alex Wood who was our top pick for the main slate. I wanted to give you a third option here, but with just six games there isn't a whole lot to love on the hill for the evening set. McCullers and Carrasco face off, and I'm...

Daily Fantasy MLB Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/26/18 Welcome back for another edition of DFSR's Saturday picks. Memorial day weekend is upon us, and if you're like me, you stocked up on beer and burgers yesterday, leaving today wide open for a full day of daily fantasy MLB action. We've got plenty to break down as we look at today's split slate with nine early and six main slate games. Let's go through the positions and break down the top plays of the day as determined by our MLB projection system. Pitcher Early Aaron Nola FD 9300 DK 12200 Opponent - TOR (Jaime Garcia) Park - PHI FD - 36.43 DK - 19.4 While DraftKings has six arms priced over $10K tonight, there's not a single pitcher with a five-digit price tag on FanDuel tonight. Aaron Nola leads the early slate at just over $9K, which is probably a bargain given the matchup and what the Philly right-hander is capable of doing on the hill today. After going just 5 and 5.2 innings in his first two starts this season, Nola has made it through at least six while going as deep as eight innings since, picking up as many as twelve K's while limiting the runs to three or less in every game prior to his last start against the Cardinals who took him for four in six. The Blue Jays are an average offense at best, with a .316 wOBA against RHP this season and a top ten 24.1 K% against the split. The Phitins' are the biggest favorites on the early slate today opening at -183 and you can consider Nola safe in all formats. Tanner Roark FD 8500 DK 11400 Opponent - MIA (Wei-Yin Chen) Park - MIA FD - 33.62 DK - 16.97 We've got another strong NL east arm in an elite matchup today for our second pick on the early slate. Tanner Roark and the Nationals are in Miami for a weekend set with the Marlins, who have been dead in the water through the early part of this season. Miami sports a paltry .279 wOBA against RHP this season, second lowest in the game, and like Toronto, they also strikeout at a top ten clip with a righty on the hill. Roark has struggled this season and sports a 4.00...

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/19/18

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/19/18 We already highlighted Luis Severino and James Paxton in our Saturday 5/19/18 picks article. We also highlighted the Yankees and Cubs as popular game stacks at their respective team price points. Here we will look at some value considerations for your GPP lineups. Pitchers Steven Matz FD 6900 DK 6200 Opponent - ARI (Patrick Corbin) Park - NYM FD - 30.15 DK - 15.74 We went top of the line in our picks article today with pitching on the main slate giving you arms like Severino and Paxton that will make it difficult to put some powerful bats into our lineup, especially on DK where locking two top-tiered arms can be quite the tough proposition. I wanted to give you some cheaper, albeit much more risky plays to consider here for your GPP lines. Through seven starts, Steven Matz has made it through six full innings only once, but he has managed to limit the damage, surrendering just two earned runs off 13 baserunners in his last two starts. The K/9 is up more than one full batter over his career numbers, and he is going up against a Diamondbacks team tonight that strikes out 26.2% of the time with the third worst team wOBA in the majors. Matz is extremely cheap across the industry, pairing him with Severino on DraftKings still leaves you with nearly $4K to play with per bat. You could potentially pair them in cash games and get away with it, but on FanDuel you'll want to reserve Matz for tournament lines only. Our top plays are in matchups against teams that despite being poor offenses don't strike out often, so pivoting to a cheap play like Matz with potential for some big K upside if he can find a way to give us 5+ innings could pay off big time. Nick Kingham FD 8600 DK 7600 Opponent - SD (Clayton Richard) Park - PIT FD - 28.81 DK - 14.55 Nick Kingham gave the Pirates two impressive starts earlier this season before being optioned to triple-A with Pittsburgh managing to run a four-man rotation for a stretch. Now with a fifth arm needed they have recalled Kingham for a matchup at home against one of the leagues worst offenses, the San Diego Padres....

Daily Fantasy MLB Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/19/18

Daily Fantasy MLB Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/19/18 Hello friends, and welcome to another edition of Saturday MLB picks. We've got a handful of early games, but we're going to direct most of our focus on the main slate of eleven games. We've got some solid arms on the mound, let's go position by position and see if we can't find some value in the bats to pair along with them. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB optimizer and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitcher Luis Severino FD 10500 DK 12600 Opponent - KC (Danny Duffy) Park - KC FD - 39.13 DK - 21.32 Keep the aspirin nearby as pitching is a real headache heading into today. The early slate's a total mess, and on the main slate, we have some strong options, but they're going to cost you a pretty penny. Case in point Luis Severino, who is the most expensive arm on both sites, but is also easily the safest cash game play of the night. The Yankees are in Kansas City for the weekend and will send Severino to the hill today as a -247 favorite against a Royals team projected for a mere 3.3 runs. Severino has been a complete stud this season limiting opponents to two runs or less in all but two starts and currently sits with the sixth best xFIP in the majors and nearly 11 K's per nine. The Royals are a mediocre offense at best, with a bottom ten wOBA against RHP. I don't know that I'd go there in tournaments, as the Royals have displayed quite an impressive level of patience at the plate, striking out just 16.2% of the time against the split, but as a cash game play, Severino is definitely in the conversation. James Paxton FD 9400 DK 12200 Opponent - DET (Mike Fiers) Park - SEA FD - 42.95 DK - 23.41 If you don't want to spend all the way up for Sev, then we have an excellent pivot in the form of James Paxton. Again, we have a pitcher against the team with the lowest K% against the split. The Tigers strikeout 16.8% of the time against southpaws, so the upside could be limited, but Seattle, like the Yanks, sees a strong opening line (-235), while Detroit projects for a paltry 2.9 runs. Paxton followed up his no-no earlier this month with a game...

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/12/18

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/12/18 We already highlighted Stephen Strasburg and Noah Syndergaard in our Saturday picks article. We also highlighted the Dodgers against Homer Bailey as a popular game stack. Here we will look at some other (possible GPP) considerations. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB optimizer and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. Pitchers EARLY David Price FD 7600 DK 7500 Opponent - TOR (Marco Estrada) Park - TOR FD - 34.52 DK - 18.87 After Strasburg and Archer, there isn't a lot to love about pitching on the early slate. I wanted to write up Mike Clevinger here, but he's going against the Royals who do not strikeout. David Price is quite the risky proposition, he was beaten up by the Rangers back on the third, surrendering seven earned runs in less than four innings, and it's not the first time this season Price has collapsed out there. He missed his last scheduled start with what turned out to be carpal tunnel syndrome but seems set to make his return to the hill today. If he can stay healthy, and make it through a full start, Price could be in for a big day today. The Blue Jays strikeout 22.9% of the time, with a modest .319 team wOBA. Boston is a slight favorite to pick up the win, though that is due more to their offense going against Marcus Stroman than anything else. To summarize, Toronto could put up some runs today; Price could face another early exit, or, Price could go six strong, limit the damage, and pick up a W and several K's along the way. That's what makes a GPP play, isn't it? There's risk, but there's potential reward. If you need to pivot off Stras and Archer, you can consider Price, or possibly Clevinger. I for one will stick with the two guys in the picks article on the early set. MAIN Charlie Morton FD 9300 DK 12800 Opponent - TEX (Doug Fister) Park - HOU FD - 39.75 DK - 21.18 On the main slate, we have a completely different story. In addition to Syndergaard, an excellent cash game play, and Wacha, a strong SP2, and GPP play, we have Charlie Morton. Morton projects similarly to Thor in our MLB projection system, but if you need to save a few hundred in salary Morton is an excellent pivot....
