Arizona Diamondbacks The Diamondbacks were in this spot yesterday, and true to what Brent said, if they're in a hitter friendly park against a southpaw, they will be back, so here we are a day later. The Rockies will send another lefty to the hill tonight in the form of Tyler Anderson, and while the DBacks didn't deliver quite as we would hope last night with only 2 of their starting 8 contributing double digit FanDuel points, we have to acknowledge their being right back in play today. Anderson comes in with a 1-3 record through 5 starts this season, which is not surprising as it's tough to pick up a win when you're only averaging 5 innings per start. He's allowing 2.13 HR/9 and though only 2 of his long balls allowed have come outside of Coors, the park similarities here make this almost like a Coors game. He's also holding a 4.09 xFIP this season and his wOBA (.408) against righties is something to behold. For Arizona's half of the deal Brent covered the Lefty bashing they're capable of yesterday. Dating back to last season Yasmany Tomas and Paul Goldschmidt are sporting a .420 and .432 wOBA respectively with A.J. Pollock, and Chris Owings not far behind at .355 each. Despite the fact that Tomas went 0for at the plate last night, that wOBA and his price, especially on FanDuel will have me right back at it tonight with Goldy, Pollock and Owings. Chicago Cubs The Cubbies continue their interleague series with the Red Sox in Fenway. Today they step in to the box to face Steven Wright. Wright has been extremely inconsistent to start the season, going a combined total of 5 inning in two starts where he got rocked by the Orioles. While his other two starts were slightly more productive, there is plenty we can exploit on Wright. While he struck out a respectable 7.3/9 last season, to date this year, he's only getting K's at a 4.58 clip per 9, while allowing a .468 wOBA to left handed batters which jumps to an...

Pitchers Danny Salazar FD 10100 DK 9800 Opponent - SEA (Gallardo) Park - @CLEFD - 33.46 DK - 22.09 If you're looking to fade off of Stephen Strasburg in the early slate there are plenty of options worth considering, at the top of the list in Danny Salazar. Salazar is off to a strong start to the 2017 campaign. He got roughed up a little by the White Sox last time out, allowing four runs in 5 innings, off of 7 hits and three walks. His 14.29 K/9 is the best in the American League. My primary concern with Salazar lies in his control as his 10.9 BB% is the highest in the AL, however in our favor is the fact that the Mariners as a whole only walk 9.9% of the time, so their impatience could benefit us greatly here. The Mariners have combined for 23 home runs this season, but with the wind forecasted to blow in at 9mph, Salazar should be able to keep them in the yard. I see Strasburg being the cash play of the day, but if you want to go a different way in a tournament, you could do worse than Danny Salazar. Michael Pineda FD 8700 DK 10100 Opponent - BAL (Jimenez) Park - @NYYFD - 32.49 DK - 21.4 Another option on the early is Michael Pineda. Pineda's K/9 isn't on the level of Salazar's, but it comes awfully close at 11.19. He's rocking a 2.32 xFIP, and has a .319 wOBA against left handed bats, which drops to .263 against righties. The wind at Yankee Stadium is expected to be blowing directly out at a crisp 8mph, so that presents some concern with the Orioles power hitters, but the upside lies in the Baltimore 22.3% K Rate which is sixth highest in the AL. Baltimore is projected for only 3.7 runs, and they're trotting Ubaldo Jimenez out there. He got rocked by the Yankees once already this season, so is Pineda can keep the ball in play, and limit the runs the win should be a given. I prefer Salazar,...

Pitcher Early Stephen Strasburg FD 10600 DK 11600 Opponent - NYM (Wheeler) Park - @WSHFD - 40.24 DK - 26.37 There are a couple of different ways to go for pitching on the early slate, but when all is said and done in cash games, I'm going to splurge for the safety that is Stephen Strasburg. Four starts into the season and Stras just gets better each time out, adding more K's while walking less. The Mets, while already having 5 runs on the board against Mad Max as I write this are 1-9 in their last ten games going in to Friday night. They have a team wOBA of .289, only the Giants are worst in the National League, that number drops to a league worst .275 against right handed pitchers. Strasburg meanwhile is striking out 20.4% of the batters he faces, while only walking 3.7% and his 0.93 WHIP is among the lowest in the league. Stras is a lock for 7 innings, 8 K's with 10-12 upside while keeping the runs limited. If he walks away with the W that's just icing on the GPP cake making Strasburg an excellent play across the board. Main Brandon McCarthy FD 8000 DK 8900 Opponent - PHI (Eflin) Park - @LADFD - 32.58 DK - 21.21 On the main slate the pitching options aren't as elite. Big spending is something I'll hold more for GPP's and in cash I'll look for the cheap and easy way out to build up on the bats since we have a lot of good hitters facing bad pitching. Brandon McCarthy should serve our purposes just fine. McCarthy takes the mound today against the Phillies in Chavez Ravine. The Phillies have won 8 of their last ten heading in to this weekend series with the Dodgers, but don't let that fool you. While sporting a .321 team wOBA the Phillies are still striking out at a 23.1% clip which should benefit a guy like McCarthy, who's striking out a respectable 8.25 K/9. The Phillies are also a different team outside of Citizens Bank Park. While on the road this season their team wOBA drops all the way down to .291 with thier k% climbing to 26.5% with only 9...

We've got you completely covered. Cleveland Indians I’m just going to avoid Coors today, we all know those teams are well in play for GPP’s as always, but if you need a cheaper team to pair with them, or just want to fade entirely there are a few other teams for you to consider. First up we have the Indians. The tribe blanked the White Sox 7-0 last night and should continue that domination into the series finale this afternoon. Although they’re not in that other hitter friendly field in Chi-Town, Guaranteed Rate Field has it’s own perks, though the wind may not be one of them this afternoon as it’s only forecasted at a light 3MPH blowing across to right. The Sox will send southpaw Derek Holland to the hill to face down the Indians battalion of batters . Holland ended last season with a decent .260 wOBA against left handed hitters, but it rose to .346 against right handers. Look for switch hitters Carlos Santana, Francisco Lindor, and Jose Lindor to hit from the right side today adding adding to the right handed bats of Edwin Encarnacion and Brandon Guyer You can work in lefties Michael Brantley, and Jason Kipnis if you like, though I’d be cautious with Kipnis as he’s still fresh of the DL and hasn’t found his groove yet. Texas Rangers The Rangers have taken 3 games of this series already from the Royals, and look to finish them out this afternoon in Arlington. They’ll be facing Jason Hammel to complete the four game sweep. Hammel is 0-1 in three starts this year with his new team. The Rangers will come at him primarily from the left, with Shin-soo Choo, Nomar Mazara, and Rougned Odor, you can complete that stack with Carlos Gomez. In the early going this year, the Rangers are sporting a .291 team wOBA but that quickly climbs to .308 when there’s a right hander on the mound. Their 25 combined home runs is the best in the American League, and they’re walking at 8.41%. Hammel has struggled in his first few starts back in the...

Pitchers Danny Salazar FD 10100 DK 11300 Opponent - CHW (Holland) Park - @CHWFD - 34.34 DK - 22.61 The Indians dominated the White Sox the last two nights, and that is expected to continue this afternoon in the series finale. I highlighted their bats in the stacks article, and now to show their pitcher some love. Danny Salazar will look to complete the sweep against a Chicago team that has yet to get a single run across the plate this weekend. Last season Salazar averaged 10.5 K/9 and is up to 13.75 through three starts this year. He has huge K upside against a Chicago lineup that is striking out 23.8 percent of the time, third worst in the American League. Chicago will send a right handed heavy lineup to the dish today, to face Salazar who sported a .330 wOBA against right handers last year, and early on this year it’s sitting at .212. It’s clear and warm in Chicago today, with a light breeze so the conditions are perfect and Salazar could be looking at a big day. I love him in all formats. Marcus Stroman FD 8500 DK 9600 Opponent - LAA (Undecided) Park - @LAAFD - 26.99 DK - 17.93 Marcus Stroman is 1-2 through three starts to begin this season, but that is due primarily to the lack of run support, he struggled some his last time out against Boston, but his first two starts should have been wins, with 3 runs allowed on 13 hits through 15.1 innings. The Jays have started to finally win a few games, and more importantly, they’re scoring runs, even in losses, putting 16 runs across in their last 4 games. Today they’ll go for the series win in Anaheim, against a righty heavy Angels lineup that once you get past Mike Trout is none too impressive. The Angels are hitting with a .293 combined team wOBA, that only climbs to .297 against right handed arms. They’ve got a 28.3 hard hit percentage, and the wind will be blowing straight out at 9MPH. This pick isn’t without risk...
