Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 12/9/17
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 12/9/17 There are ten games in the association today, beginning with an early afternoon set between the Wizards and Clippers, followed by a 6PM tipoff between the Heat and Nets. We're going to shift all of our focus to the eight game main slate which tips at 7ET when the Lakers head into Charlotte. It was a busy Friday night, and we have a lot to consider when looking at our top plays, so let's not waste any more time, and get right to the picks... Point guard Russell Westbrook FD - $10800 DK - $11000Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 54.65 DK - 58.3 We start off at the point with a guy named Russell Westbrook. Perhaps you've heard of him? Just your basic, ordinary, run of the mill double double machine with triple double upside on any given night, that runs the boards 35-40 minutes per game, and is an ever present threat to put up 75 fantasy points at any time. Now of course, that's the upside, but the floor alone is plenty attractive. Westbrook averages about 50 fantasy points per night, and has cracked 60 three times in his last seven games. The matchup isn't ideal, Memphis is a bear (pun intended) for opposing point guards allowing the fewest average fantasy points per game, but that just leads me to fade Russ in tournaments, for cash purposes the man is essentially matchup proof, particularly when priced at $11K or less. There was some chatter about a hip contusion and an illness on Thursday night, but he isn't showing up on the injury report, so I think it's safe to say Russ is a go, and is a great way to pay up in cash games. Ricky Rubio FD - $4900 DK - $5000Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 28.54 DK - 28.85 It's tough to be Ricky Rubio right now. Rookie Donovan Mitchell seems to be leading the offensive show in Utah, and Rubio's stuck in a place that just doesn't work to his skill set. His field goal percentage is down from last year, and he's seeing career lows in rebounds and assists per game. It's not all gloom and doom however, as this has led us to...

We've got you completely covered. What We Know Evan Fournier is out with a sprained right ankle. Fournier will miss at the very least tonight's game against the Nuggets, and tomorrow in Atlanta with a sprained ankle suffered on Wednesday against the Hawks. Aaron Afflalo will likely draw the start in fournier's place, and should see a significant number of minutes as well. Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown expect to play tonight in San Antonio. Although the word is both expect to play, Morris is being called a game-time decision after missing wednesdays game with a knee issue and originally being listed as questionable for tonight. Brown meanwhile will likely play with protective goggles after missing the last game with an inflamed right eye. Even if Morris plays, look for Aaron Baynes to remain in the starting rotation against the Spurs front court, while the return of Brown will send Marcus Smart back to a reserve role. Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green are both probable. Iguodala played through knee pain on wednesday, while Green was sidelined with a shoulder injury. Green will see how things feel following shoot around, though word is he expects to be good to go tonight in Detroit. Iguodala meanwhile should be expected to continue playing through the knee issue as long as it doesn't worsen. If that is the case he stands to see a significant bump in usage with Steph Curry out for at least a couple of weeks with an ankle sprain. Zaza Pachulia is also out for the Dubs, but as long as Dray is back in the rotation, I'd expect to see him eat a sizable chunk of those minutes. Frank Kaminsky and Cody Zeller are each out for the Hornets. Zeller has been ruled out indefinitely with a medial meniscus tear in his knee and will be joined on the injury report tonight by Frank The Tank, who suffered a sprained ankle six minutes into Wednesday's tilt with the Warriors. This should lead to a windfall of minutes for Marvin Williams who will likely draw the start at power forward for the hurting Hornets. Willie Cauley-Stein did not travel to New Orleans. WCS strained his lower back against the Bucks last weekend and did not travel with the Kings...

Point guard Russell Westbrook FD - $10700 DK - $11000Opponent - UTAProj Pts FD - 50.69 DK - 52.39 We've only got three games to choose from tonight when looking at our top fantasy plays, and there is jut one way to go to spend up, and that is Russell Westbrook. If you're on DraftKings, FanDuel or both, Russ stands alone as the sole $10K+ play on the day, and while he may not be universally owned, I can see a case for fading him in very large GPP's, he will be a popular cash option and I wouldn't be surprised to see him over 50% owned in double ups particularly on FanDuel where he'll only eat up 18% of your overall salary. Russ seems to be gaining momentum on the push back to the Westbrook of old, posting four double doubles and three triple doubles in his last seven contests, and paying over 6X points per dollar in four of those games at this salary. Ricky Rubio's a solid defender, and the Jazz as a team are one of the toughest opposing matchups for the point guard position, but this is Russell Westbrook, and it's a slim pickin's type of slate. Kyle Lowry FD - $8500 DK - $8700Opponent - PHOProj Pts FD - 41.87 DK - 43.79 in regards to just how slim the pickin's are tonight, it's going to be tough to get out of the point without spending some cash, which leads to the case for fading Westbrook. Our next two plays reside right at the top of the heap with Russ, but don't require quite as much salary commitment. They also each project for better PPD return. First we have Toronto Raptors Kyle Lowry, hosting the Phoenix Suns. That's the selling point here, is the matchup. The Suns don't play defense, they allow extreme fantasy production at every position and point guard is no exception. In just their last five games heading into last night's game in Philadelphia, the Suns are allowing 62 FanDuel points to opposing point guards. This game has a combined pace of 102.8 and sports a 224.5 projection with the Raptors favored by 13.5, though with only three games we can't be as...

We've got you completely covered. What We Know Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are active for the Warriors, Andre Iguodala is out. No surprise on Steph and KD, who played through their respective issues on Friday against the Thunder, and came into today with a probable designation. Iguodala will miss his second consecutive contest with a sore knee. Omri Caspi saw the benefit of Iggy's absence on Friday, while in past instances that Iguodala has been unavailable Nick Young saw the bulk of the workload off of the bench, so proceed with caution here if looking for a punt play as you'll be at the mercy of coach Kerr's whim. The Spurs will rest LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, and Tony Parker today against the Thunder. The Spurts have decided to give LMA the night off as they head into a back to back set, and are probably taking similar precaution with Gay who has been dealing with a sore right heel. Kyle Anderson should see a ton of minutes thrown his way in the depleted Spurs front court, while Joffrey Lauvergne will also benefit from the absence of Aldridge in today's game in Oklahoma City. Parker meanwhile is still working his way back from injury and has had no fantasy relevance to this point. His absence today only means Dejounte Murray could potentially see a return to relevance. Every Lineup Guys Karl-Anthony Towns FD - $9000 DK - $8300Opponent - LACProj Pts FD - 46.57 DK - 48.25 The theme of today is blowout risk, as we have four games scheduled tonight and three of them have a point spread of 10.5 or greater. It's going to be impossible to avoid. Both of our every lineup plays today come from the same game, which sports a 12.5 point differential and is projected for a modest 213 total. First up is Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns is seeing less usage this season than he has in the past, likely due to the addition of Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague to the lineup. The plus side to this is we are getting a player that has shown a ceiling of 50 or more fantasy points on multiple occasions already this season carrying a price tag of $9K or less....

We've got you completely covered. What We Know Anthony Davis is out against the after going down with a groin injury against the Jazz last night. Davis was the top projected player in the initial run of our system last night prior to leaving the game in the fourth quarter, being helped to the locker room. Davis is set to undergo an MRI today and as anticipated he will sit out the game against the Blazers tonight. This of course adds much more appeal to Boogie Cousins, and Dante Cunningham who will likely draw the start in place of AD. Nikola Jokic is likely to miss several games for the Nuggets, while Wilson Chandler remains questionable with back soreness. Joker rolled his ankle against the Bulls on Thursdays night, and though the X-ray and MRI all came back negative the team expects him to be out of commission for several games. The injury plagued Nuggets may also be without Wilson Chandler who has missed two straight games with back soreness and is listed as questionable to play tonight. We covered a lot of this situation and the scenarios of who will benefit in out picks article, so you can find more detailed information there, and more on Kenneth Faried below. Chandler Parsons is out with soreness in his knee and ankle tonight. Parsons landed funny last night against the Spurs and will be rested tonight against the Cavaliers as a precaution. James Ennis is expected to see extra run in his place. Adding to the Grizzlies troubles is Marc Gasol being listed as questionable. If Gasol joins Parsons on the bench, Tyreke Evans becomes an elite play with a 7.7% boost in usage with Gasol, Parsons, and Mike Conley out of the game. T.J. McConnell remains out for the Sixers. McConnell suffered a sprained shoulder against the Wizards on Wednesday and subsequently missed the next night against Boston. The Sixers have ruled T.J. out today as they host the Pistons, which will mean more minutes for Jerryd Bayless but with Ben Simmons as the primary point guard, I would only look to Bayless as a punt in a deep GPP contest. What We're Waiting to Know Kyle Kuzma has been upgraded to probable for the Lakers. Kuzma was held...
