What We Know Chris Paul has been upgraded to questionable and will likely be a game-time decision. Originally listed as doubtful, Paul now seems to be trending towards being a GTD for the Rockets game tonight against the Pelicans after missing Thursday's game with a sore hamstring. We spotlighted Eric Gordon as a top play should Paul remain out, however expect Gordon to return to the bench if Paul is ultimately cleared to play. With this game tipping off an hour after lock we will monitor the situation and hope for a definitive answer before 7PM. Rajon Rondo has been ruled out for tonight's game with the Rockets. The Pelicans will go up against Houston tonight without their starting point guard, who was ruled out after coming into the day questionable. Look for Ian Clark and DeAndre Liggins to pick up additional minutes while Jrue Holiday picks up some value seeing his usage jump 2% with Rondo off the court. Kris Dunn has no timetable for return and likely will not play tonight. We spotlighted Cameron Payne in the picks article for just this reason. Dunn has missed three games now with a toe injury and currently has no set timetable for return, and could likely miss the remainder of the season. Payne tweaked his ankle last night, but ultimately returned and looked pretty effective. Payne is a top play at the point in Dunn's continued absence. Isaiah Thomas will miss the next two games. Thomas is dealing with some hip discomfort and will not finish out the Lakers current road trip as a precaution. He joins Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram, who have missed several games apiece opening more opportunity for the likes of Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball. Tyreke Evans has been ruled out for the Grizzlies tonight. 'Reke has missed three of the Grizzlies last six contests for rest but has been ruled out in advance of tonight's game against the Lakers...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/24/18 Welcome lovers of daily fantasy hoops action! Augustin FD - $5300 DK - $5300 Opponent - PHO Proj Pts FD - 30.61 DK - 31.89 D.J. Augustin and the Magic host the Phoenix Suns tonight in a game that features two teams in full tank mode looking for that top lottery spot. That's not the only thing these two teams have in common. They also play some of the worst defense the NBA has to offer and run the court at a breakneck pace. With a 101.6 combined pace factor (the highest of the night), look for plenty of daily fantasy opportunity to come out of this one. Augustin, for one, presents a fantastic value play at the point ($5300 on both sites) and our NBA lineup optimizer loves DJA to return the top points per dollar (PPD) at the position tonight. He saw just 25 minutes on Thursday in an absolute drubbing in Philadelphia, but prior to that averaged 33 minutes in his last three starts. While every now and then Augustin manages to catch lightning in a bottle and light up the scoreboard, he's much more reliable as a cash game play who only needs to net us 25 fantasy points to make the play worthwhile, and that's where I'll likely deploy him. Cameron Payne FD - $5200 DK - $5500 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 29.81 DK - 29.27 This game doesn't hold a whole lot of fantasy appeal, and for the most part, we will not give it much attention, but we have to consider Cameron Payne whenever the Bulls play as long as Kris Dunn remains out, which at this point seems it could be the remainder of the season. Payne has started three straight games for Chicago now. And despite leaving the game in the third quarter for X-rays after suffering what looked like a leg injury, he managed to return and ended the night with 30 minutes and...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/20/18
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/20/18 Welcome to Tuesday night in the NBA! For the most part the sites are ignoring the 7:00 game between the Raptors and Magic, so we will focus on the six-game slate starting at 8:00ET. We've got some exciting contests with high projected scores and playoff implications and a ton of options to consider for our daily fantasy lineups. Let's take a look at our top picks! Point guard Yogi Ferrell FD - $4900 DK - $5300Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 24.39 DK - 25.39 I don't see any reason to pay up at the point tonight. Russ is going up against the top-rated defense in the game, while Lillard and Paul are head to head. I might go as high as Rozier, but even that's a risky proposition, so let's look at two reasonably priced options in strong matchups. First, we have Yogi Ferrell. Ferrell stepped up on Saturday when Dennis Smith Jr. was forced to make an early exit with an ankle injury. The result was his third career double-double, consisting of a dozen each in the points and assists column and five boards in 32 minutes. He sees a bottom five defense at the position tonight in the form of the Pelicans who will force Dallas to speed up their game. JJ Barea is questionable with a rib injury and could join DSJ on the bench tonight. With both of those guys out of the way Ferrell sees his usage spike 7.1%. More importantly, his time of possession went up to 6.7 minutes in the last game, which is what led to all those assists. Ferrell has a solid 25 fantasy point (FP) floor, with 30-40 FP upside and is a stellar option in all formats tonight. Austin Rivers FD - $6000 DK - $5800Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 30.39 DK - 31.26 Sticking with the value theme at the point we find Austin Rivers. Rivers has been firmly entrenched in a 35-40 minute rotation since the start of the month and has put up reliable daily fantasy production in that stretch. While much of his appeal comes from his scoring (he's shooting over 50% from the field in his last three games), he's at his best when he opens up his game and piles...
Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates – 3/18/18
Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates - 3/18/18 There's not a whole lot to say as we head towards tipoff of the first of three games in the NBA tonight. What We Know Kyrie Irving is out for the Celtics. Irving will miss his third straight game with a sore knee. Also missing from the Boston backcourt tonight will be Jaylen Brown who hasn't traveled with the team on their current road trip as he works his way back from a concussion suffered a week ago, and Marcus Smart who underwent surgery on his hand Friday and will remain out for the remainder of the regular season. This leaves Boston extremely thin, with Terry Rozier likely continuing to start for Irving, and Jayson Tatum shifting to the two. With his price elevated in the short term and other more appealing options in the same range, Rozier can be considered in cash, but is better reserved for tournaments. Every Lineup Guys Clint Capela FD - $7900 DK - $6400 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 44.45 DK - 44.51 On such a short microslate as we have tonight, no player can really be considered a "must have", but there is one player who stands out as appearing in the top 25 lineups our NBA projection system is putting out on both FanDuel and DraftKings, and that's Clint Capela. I love the thought of Capela on DraftKings sporting a sub $7K price tag, where he has paid 5X PPD or better in three of his last five contests, and averaged 25-35 minutes per game in that span. While the near $8K price on FanDuel isn't quite as appealing, I can see why the system leans heavily in his favor tonight with the lack of multiposition eligibility and the uninspiring options left at the position. KAT and Jordan are too expensive to trust. Going up against Towns, you have to suspect the Rockets will be forced to rely heavily on Capela and keep him out there as much as possible tonight creating plenty of opportunity to hit value across the industry. On FD, you can...
Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates – 3/17/18
Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates - 3/17/18 The Warriors are dropping like flies and could use a little luck of the Irish, but it doesn't stop there. There's enough injury news floating around out there for tonight's 10 game set of contests to fill a pot of gold. DFSR has you covered with all of your news and updates for Saturday night! Before you dive in, don't forget to check out our NBA lineup projection system's top picks of the day here. What We Know Kevin Durant and Omri Casspi are the Warriors most recent additions to the injury report. Durant was ruled out of last night's game before undergoing an MRI that confirmed a rib fracture that will lead to him missing at least two weeks. He joins Steph Curry and Klay Thompson on the shelf with an ankle and Thumb injury respectively. Omri Casspi would have benefitted the most from KD's absence, but he then rolled his ankle last night against the Kings and left the game in the second quarter. We are waiting on word on the severity of his injury, and how it impacts his status for tonight. If Casspi is ruled out Andre Iguodala becomes a fantastic play against a weak Phoenix defense. If Casspi plays then consider him everywhere. Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen are both out for Chicago tonight. Dunn sprained his toe against Memphis on Thursday and will be held out tonight as a precaution. He will be joined on the bench by Lauri Markkanen who is sitting out his third straight with back spasms. This leaves Chicago without two starters as they prepare to host LeBron and the Cavs while Zach LaVine and Noah Vonleh are each questionable. Look for Cameron Payne to draw the likely start at the point for Chicago while Bobby Portis could be looking at big minutes if Vonleh joins Markkanen on the bench. Larry Nance Jr. remains out for the Cavaliers. Although the Cavs don't think the issue is serious, they are resting Larry Nance Jr. for a second game as he deals with back spasms. He'll be joined in street clothes by Rodney Hood and Kyle Korver. Jeff Green is the likely candidate to continue starting in Nance's spot, and we spotlighted him in our...
