Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Luka Doncic FD - $11900 DK - $12600Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 63.69 DK - 68.82 When we get into the $12K range for a player things can start to get real weird with the rest of the lineup. But a guy like Luka Doncic is worth it at these prices simply because he’s in a small class of players who can support the salary. He’s averaging a ridiculous 33.6 points per game to go with nine rebounds and assists each. Now he’ll draw a Wizards team that is middle of the road in terms of both pace and defensive efficiency. It’s not the perfect matchup, but this slate has some tougher teams on it and I think we can roster Doncic without worrying all that much about it. Chris Paul FD - $8200 DK - $7500Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 41.85 DK - 44.57 Chris Paul returned from more than a two-week layoff and immediately stepped in to play 38 minutes on Sunday. It was a somewhat surprising minutes load after the injury, but we’ll take it especially if it’s going to be the case going forward. The Suns get the best matchup on the slate against the Hornets and Paul isn’t priced like a point guard set to play this many minutes. In that game, he dropped 22 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds. He’ll have a chance for a repeat performance against a Hornets team ranked 10th in pace and 27th in defensive efficiency. CJ McCollum FD - $8100 DK - $8200Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 42.03 DK - 45.69 McCollum is coming off of a really rough game that saw him score just 13 points while also turning the ball over seven times. He show just 5-16 from the field and the Pelicans lost to the Heat. He’ll look to bounce back here and has been good over the last month with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram both out. He’s averaging 25.5 points and more than five assists per game in that stretch. This matchup against Denver isn’t amazing, but that’s something of...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard De'Aaron Fox FD - $8300 DK - $8200Opponent - OKCProj Pts FD - 45.79 DK - 49.14 Friday’s NBA slate is all about managing injuries and determining whether we will have enough information before lineups lock. For the Kings, that might be tough seeing as how they start at 10PM EST and we could be waiting on the Domantas Sabonis news. Sabonis was sick last game, so it’s not an injury and there’s a better chance that he returns. Unlike some of the other guys in the Kings’ lineup though, I think you can feel okay running Fox even if Sabonis is back in the lineup. The Thunder play the 4th-fastest pace in the league and this game has a monster 239 total. There are other Kings considerations if Sabonis is out, but Fox should be on the safer side no matter what. Darius Garland FD - $8500 DK - $8100Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 44.6 DK - 49 Caris LeVert FD - $5600 DK - $5400Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 30.44 DK - 33.43 Playing Darius Garland and Caris LeVert on this slate is obviously predicated on whether or not Donovan Mitchell sits this one out. He didn’t play on Wednesday against the Grizzlies and this guard tandem held it down from a fantasy perspective. Garland finished with 24 points and 14 assists in his 39 minutes while LeVert put up 23 points, six assists, and four rebounds in a whopping 43 minutes. And that was against Memphis who have the best defensive efficiency in the league. Now they’ll play Golden State who sit 16th and play the 6th-fastest pace. This game is early so we should have the injury news prior to lock. He got ejected on Thursday, but I still can talk myself into Ben Simmons (FD 7500 DK 7000) in this game if the minutes are going to be in the 30s. Small Forward Andrew Wiggins FD - $6700 DK - $6300Opponent - CLEProj Pts FD - 34.65 DK - 36.63 Donte DiVincenzo FD - $5100 DK - $5100Opponent - CLEProj Pts FD - 24.6 DK - 26.03 The Warriors...

Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes FD 9200 DK 8000 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 27.46 DK - 27.46 With the best fantasy quarterbacks going this weekend, it’s going to be tough deciding who to roster on DraftKings and FanDuel. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts were QBs 1, 2, and 3 in DraftKings scoring this season with the three separated by only decimal points on a point-per-game basis. It makes for somewhat tough coin-flippy territory for this weekend’s slate of games. As a tie-breaker, the Chiefs have the highest implied total and we know that they will have Mahomes airing it out early and often. From a strategic standpoint, Mahomes can get there even without a WR1 like the others have and even though he does run less than the rest of the group, the floor is still very high here. Jalen Hurts FD 9000 DK 7600 Opponent NYGProj Points FD - 26.47 DK - 26.47 Hurts has had multiple weeks to get healthy here and gets a fantastic matchup against the Giants in the Divisional Round. It wasn’t good in Week 18, but that was after he’d sat for weeks leading into the game. Like we’ll get into with Miles Sanders, a better proxy is the game on December 11th which saw him throw for 211 yards and two touchdowns, while also piling up 77 yards and a score on the ground as well. The Giants let it up on the ground to opposing teams and the Eagles are built to take advantage there. Stacking Hurts and Sanders on this slate makes a lot of sense. Running Backs Christian McCaffrey FD 9200 DK 8000 Opponent DALProj Points FD - 21.08 DK - 23.48 As long as the San Francisco 49ers are in the playoffs, Christian McCaffrey is going to be a tough fade. He’s just too explosive, and too integral to the San Fran offense that there’s just almost no scenario, short of them completely crushing teams, where he’s going to be out of the mix. On a full PPR site like DraftKings where he’s $8K it’s kind of a no-brainer to play him especially considering the state of the running back position going into this weekend. On FanDuel it’s a little closer especially with the 49ers’ touchdown equity so spread out, but he’s a play there as well....

Are Kyrie Irving and the Nets still values? Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Kyrie Irving FD - $9300 DK - $9900Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 51.03 DK - 54.52 The Nets have lost their last two games since Kevin Durant went on the shelf with a knee injury and they’ve struggled to maintain consistent scoring without their superstar. Kyrie Irving has averaged 19 points, six assists, and four rebounds over the last two, dramatically underperforming expectations (both real-life and fantasy scoring) when it came to what many thought would happen without KD. The price is still high, but this matchup at least lines up for a bounce-back game where Kyrie is concerned. The Spurs rank dead last in defensive efficiency and play the league’s fifth-fastest pace. That’s the DFS sweet spot for sure and I think we can go back to Kyrie here. Fred VanVleet FD - $7100 DK - $7800Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 35.85 DK - 38.4 VanVleet has had trouble shooting this season, seeing the FG% and three-point FG% drop to career lows. It’s been an especially difficult time behind the arc where he is making threes at only a 32.8% clip, down from 38% for his career. It’s a problem for the Raptors who really need his scoring even though they have won four of their last five games. FVV bounced back last game for 33, but before that his scoring totals were 3, 11, 11, and 14. That’s just not going to get it done. But it has served to drop his price, especially on FanDuel and I think we can make him a buy against the Bucks here. There are some unknowns for this slate and the big one of the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He was scratched last game after having a probable tag earlier in the day on Monday. This game is on the back-to-back and he’s currently questionable. If Giannis were to sit then Jrue Holiday (FD 7900 DK 8000) would instantly vault to the top of the value chain, and would likely be a chalk play. He dropped 35 points and 11 assists on Monday against the Pacers. Grayson Allen...

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Jalen Green FD - $7000 DK - $7600Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 37.81 DK - 42.22 Kevin Porter Jr. is going to sit this game out which means we are likely to see more of the offense run through Jalen Green who likely shifts completely into the point guard role. Green has a 28.4% usage rate on the season, but that number climbs to 33.5% with Porter off the court. It’s a “healthy” bump for the second-year guard who isn’t priced like what the opportunity could be here. The Rockets are big (-10.5) underdogs in this game, but the opportunity is there for the guard here and should be able to take advantage. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8500 DK - $9000Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 46.43 DK - 49.51 The Kings are pretty big favorites here but it’s tough to get away from Fox’s price on the slate considering he’s going up against a team in the Rockets with the third-worst defensive efficiency playing an above average pace. Sacramento has been involved with some blowouts over the last few games, effectively cutting Fox’s minutes, but in close ones it sure seems like the plan is to run him 36-37. That should give him a high enough floor, especially on the FanDuel price which is coming too cheap here. Buddy Hield FD - $6700 DK - $6500Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 37.64 DK - 41.72 Bennedict Mathurin FD - $5600 DK - $4800Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 29.95 DK - 32.98 Andrew Nembhard FD - $5300 DK - $4300Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 25.62 DK - 28 T.J. McConnell FD - $5000 DK - $4100Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 27.07 DK - 27.88 Piling most of the Pacers guards together here as potential plays seeing as how Tyrese Haliburton is out for the foreseeable future and all of these guys stand to see a healthy bump in minutes, usage, and on-ball time in the offense. It’s unclear how exactly they run the starting unit now with Haliburton out of the mix though Hield and Nembhard have already been there and should stick....
