With the price still on the lower side on FanDuel, I think we can run him in cash games against this Hawks team. Atlanta is 19th on defense and runs a top-10 pace this season. Meanwhile, CJ is averaging a 22/6 over the short-term with the scoring even set to possibly take a jump in this game. And then there is Brandon Ingram who is fully back in the fold in terms of minutes and definitely all the way there on the usage as well. In 32 minutes on Saturday against the Lakers, Ingram took 28 shots and finished with 35 points while also pitching in five assists and four rebounds. He’s taken 20 shots or more in three of his first five games back. The price hasn’t caught up at all with the usage, especially on DraftKings. Jalen Brunson FD - $7900 DK - $8500Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 41.42 DK - 44.28 Speaking of guys who run big minutes, Jalen Brunson has one of the highest floors in the NBA where that is concerned. He hasn’t played fewer than 35 minutes in a game since December 20th and during that stretch is averaging 20 points, 5.4 assists, and four rebounds. It doesn’t get much better than that and the price certainly doesn’t reflect this opportunity all the way. The minutes have been 36 or higher over the last week or so and he’s a triple-double threat in every game. Over the last four he’s averaging 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Plus he’ll get after it with some steals as well. This is a pretty easy play. Davion Mitchell FD - $3800 DK - $3000Opponent - INDProj Pts FD - 21.37 DK - 23.16 Malik Monk FD - $5300 DK - $4800Opponent - INDProj Pts FD - 30.92 DK - 33.93 De’Arron Fox is out for the Kings on Friday when they play the Pacers and this should be a spot to roster some guys in his absence. Davion Mitchell should get the start though it could be Malik Monk who we see with even more opportunity. The latter has a 29.8 usage rate with Fox off the court this season, easily the highest on the team and even coming off the bench has seen bigger minutes with this group. The price is low enough on both sites to take the moderate risk even if he isn’t running with the starter. Meanwhile, Mitchell is coming at the stone minimum on DraftKings and should be at least starting. That’s worth it from a punt play perspective. The fantasy elements of his game aren’t overwhelming so there’s at least some risk, but he’s cheap and should see a dramatic increase in minutes here. T.J. On the one hand, they have, by far, the highest team total and best matchup on the slate. They are also -11 home favorites and could absolutely blow the doors off of the Hornets. It’s a tricky spot with where to land with guys like Jrue Holiday. For instance, last game the Bucks crushed the Pelicans and Holiday played only 30 minutes. But he also finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The value could still be there against the Hornets at these prices, but if the game gets out of hand it’s going to be close. Jalen Brunson FD - $7500 DK - $7900Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 41.39 DK - 44.31 Quentin Grimes FD - $4100 DK - $4400Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 25.6 DK - 27.81 The Lakers should be more toward full strength than they were against the Nets on Monday evening, so the matchup should be tougher. But this is still a team ranking 20th in defensive efficiency on the season. Brunson has a high minutes floor on the season, running at least 37 in each of the last 14 games. It’s tough to find that kind of consistency and it makes him a very safe option, especially on FanDuel where the price is still sitting too low. I think he will see plenty of ownership there against LA in a high-profile matchup between these two teams. In addition to Brunson, Quentin Grimes also has been seeing a ton of run for the Knicks, but he needs things to break right in order to hit value even at these lower prices. He’s strictly a three-and-D wing and if the three-ball isn’t falling then you could be in trouble even in the $4K range. That being said, he’s played 36 or more minutes in each of the last three games and the Knicks will need his...

That being said, the Thursday sitting could have been preemptive on the front end of the back-to-back as well so this is something we will have to keep an eye on. Garland went for 26 points and nine rebounds in just 33 minutes on Thursday in a blowout win over the Rockets. He’s been amazing this season when Mitchell has been on the shelf and draws a fine matchup against the Thunder who, while good on defense, are also 5th in pace. T.J. McConnell FD - $7400 DK - $6500Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 39.22 DK - 41.62 The price still hasn’t adjusted on TJ McConnell and we are likely looking at playing him all the way until Tyrese Haliburton returns. Since taking over as a starter three games ago, McConnell is averaging 18 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds in almost 38 minutes per game. Even if those averages are on the high side of realistic expectations, he’s still coming way too cheap on DraftKings especially. Factoring in blowout risk against the Bucks still doesn’t put him out of play on either site really. This is an easy call. Jrue Holiday FD - $8300 DK - $8500Opponent - INDProj Pts FD - 45.24 DK - 49.05 The Bucks have some injury issues going right now so even with Giannis playing I think we can consider Jrue Holiday here in the $8K range. There are some games without Giannis mixed in here, but over the last month or so Jrue is averaging 21 points, seven assists, and four rebounds with 1.5 steals+ blocks thrown in for good measure. Facing off against the 49ers defense won’t be easy, but Hurts comes into this game with the highest floor, and maybe ceiling, of any quarterback going. He had an easy time of it last week against the Giants, only needing to throw 24 times in the blowout win, but he still ran the ball nine times for 34 yards. The latter number is a welcome sign for his overall health and one would have to think this number could really skyrocket this week in a close game. Between the running upside and the high-powered offense attack, Hurts should be the cash game play on both sites. After Hurts, I would lean towards Joe Burrow for cheaper on both sites. We know the Bengals will air it out and I’m too worried about the health of Patrick Mahomes with the ankle injury. Running Backs Christian McCaffrey FD 9000 DK 8000 Opponent PHIProj Points FD - 20.11 DK - 22.36 McCaffey played *only* 67% of the 49ers’ snaps last week, though the volume was still there with 10 carries and eight targets in the win. It was tough from an efficiency standpoint, mustering just 57 total yards, though he did find the end zone once. This is a tough matchup against a stout Eagles defense that will likely be geared up to take him out of the game. But no other running back on the slate has his kind of upside and he’s virtually game script safe even with Elijah Mitchell getting more carries last week. Jerick McKinnon FD 6500 DK 5400 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 11.98 DK - 14.06 The good news on Jerick McKinnon first: he played 65% of the Chiefs snaps last week against the Jaguars. In a close game, he sure looks like the plan in the backfield. But the bad news is that Patrick Mahomes is injured and the Kansas City situation is a bit muddied.
