He’s probably a bit too expensive to wonder if the minutes aren’t going to get blown out of the water, but the Mavericks have the second-highest implied total on the slate. That means something against a Spurs team that ran a fast pace and played below-average defense last season. CP3 probably slows things down some this season, but it’s worth noting. Meanwhile, if you think Doncic is at all limited here, then Kyrie Irving becomes one of the better values on the slate. He’s not all that expensive on either site and would stand to see heavy usage in this offense. I’m inclined to just go with Kyrie in cash games and spend up elsewhere, but the game environment for Luka is worth throwing out there. Chris Paul FD - $6600 DK - $5900Opponent - DALProj Pts FD - 29.33 DK - 32.25M It’s hard to imagine Chris Paul playing tons and tons of minutes in this first game, but it’s also tough to imagine him air-balling at these prices, especially on DraftKings. The Spurs brought him in specifically to help facilitate an offense around Victor Wembanyama, and that’s what we should get. The usage was low in the preseason, to be expected, but the assist levels should climb enough to make him a play here. Julian Champagnie FD - $3900 DK - $3800Opponent - DALProj Pts FD - 19.25 DK - 20.13 Yeah, this is a weird name to put on the list, but when you are rostering guys like Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama, you need some cost savings somewhere. With Devin Vassell out to start the season, Julian Champagnie should draw the start at the two guard. There is still rookie Stephon Castle behind him, so the playing time might not be too, too crazy. The Browns season is pretty much over, and Lamar has been the near-runaway leader in scoring fantasy points this season. The 15:2 TD: INT rate is as good as it gets, plus the 455 rushing yards rank 11th in the league among all players. That’s just ridiculous. He has as high a floor as you’ll see on a week-to-week basis. Bo Nix FD 6900 DK 5600 Opponent CARProj Points FD - 21.01 DK - 21.01 Opposing offenses have completely slaughtered the Carolina Panthers this season, and this game should be no different. The 243 points allowed is by far (and I mean by far) the most in the league, like full games more than the next closest team. Nix isn’t that expensive on either side and could very well be the DraftKings chalk, at least. Yeah, the completion percentage is only 61%, but again, these are the Panthers we’re talking about. And Nix has averaged eight runs a game over the last three, keeping the floor high enough with his legs. This is all about the matchup, folks. Running Back Breece Hall FD 7900 DK 7300 Opponent NEProj Points FD - 20.12 DK - 23.04 The Jets season is pretty much on the line here, coming into this game 2-5 and likely already on the outside looking in where the playoffs are concerned. But they get the Patriots on the road as -7 favorites. Hall’s ceded plenty of carries to Braelon Allen this season, but in the last game, Breece played 82% of the snaps, seeing 12 carries and nine targets. They should lean on him heavily here in a game they pretty much need to win. De'Von Achane FD 6800 DK 6200 Opponent ARIProj Points FD - 16.71 DK - 19.11 The Miami Dolphins will get Tua Tagovailoa back this week, and basically, everyone on their offense will be mispriced because of the last few disaster weeks. He will run the show with the scoring and assist numbers likely to spike early in the season at the bare minimum. Heck, he dished out 12 assists in just 23 minutes in the Clips final preseason tuneup. He does have some wings around him and a center in Zubac who can run the pick-and-roll. The Clippers might be down bad here, but Harden is still a relatively easy play. Cade Cunningham FD - $8700 DK - $8600Opponent - INDProj Pts FD - 44.51 DK - 48.23 The Pistons are coming off a historically bad season with the extended losing streak, etc., but they get a somewhat new lease on basketball like this around. New front office. New coach. And some slight roster upgrades around Cade Cunningham. He gets a bit more shooting around him with Tobias Harris starting and Tim Hardaway Jr. coming off the bench. Plus, Isaiah Stewart is now the backup center instead of being an ill-matched power forward. This game against the Pacers has the highest total on the slate, and we want pieces of action. Cade makes for a high-floor play. Tyrese Maxey FD - $9600 DK - $9000Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 42.72 DK - 46.08 No Joel Embiid and no Paul George to start the season for the 76ers, who begin a possible championship run (though doubtful) banged up. The show should turn over to Tyrese Maxey against the Bucks. Maxey is already priced up considerably so you aren’t getting any kind of discount here, but because Philly has a lot of shots open, he could be a popular play in cash games. Last season, Maxey has a 32% usage rate with Joel Embiid off the court, easily the highest on the team. It should be the case again here with the...

Derrick White had the best season of his career, spiking the three-point percentage to 39% while averaging a 15/5/4 line, all effectively career-highs. He’s simply too cheap on both sites, even in the $6K range. Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday saw the rate stats dip coming from Milwaukee to Boston, going down to 12.5 points and 4.8 assists, both lows compared to his Bucks tenure. But the efficiency was there, shooting 43% from beyond the arc while averaging 1.7 blocks + steals on the defensive end. I like stacking both of these Celtics guards and think in this first game there will be plenty of minutes out of the gate. D'Angelo Russell FD - $6500 DK - $6200Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 34.72 DK - 36.05 Austin Reaves FD - $6300 DK - $6000Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 31.74 DK - 32.85 The Lakers look remarkably similar to last season in terms of their starting lineup, without too much in the way of upgrades in the backcourt specifically. While LeBron James remains the de facto point guard on this team, there should be plenty of minutes for both D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves here. Sure, there’s Gabe Vincent hanging around on the bench, but the starters should see minutes in the 30s+ in J.J. Redick’s team. But here we are with Jayden Daniels, who’s been one of the best QBs in the league, rookie or now. He’s facing off against an abysmal Carolina Panthers defense that gets shredded basically every single week. They’ve allowed 34 or more points to opponents in each of the last three weeks, and it could be the case again here. The Commanders are -8 home favorites, and Daniels has been the third-best fantasy quarterback this season behind only Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield (right?). It’s a smash spot and we are going to want pieces of this offense for sure. The Panthers are just that bad. Sam Darnold FD 7500 DK 6200 Opponent DETProj Points FD - 20.64 DK - 20.64 We usually only want to roster QBs who can get out there and run, but there’s a case for Darnold here, especially at his DraftKings price. He offers decent savings compared to Daniels and this could be a high-scoring affair with the Lions. The game has perfect conditions in the dome and the Vikings will have to keep pace with that high-powered offense. Darnold had a rough game against the Jets, but before that had thrown 11 TDs and just three INTS through his first four games. I think we can run him here if pivoting off Jayden. Running Back Bijan Robinson FD 8200 DK 7100 Opponent SEAProj Points FD - 19.2 DK - 21.12 Are we worried that Tyler Allgeier still gets a lot of carries in this offense? Of course, the dude actually out-carried Bijan 18-115 last week, even though the snap count was 56% to 41% in favor of Robinson. It still just means that Bijan isn’t a bell-cow back or anything on this squad. But that’s also okay because he’s also averaging right around 14 carries and four targets a game in one of the game’s better offenses. The price is up there, but I think we’ll be able to find enough savings at the WR position to make it worth our while. And the Falcons are -3 favorites at home in a game tied for the highest total on the slate. Kyren...
