The Dallas Cowboys fall into the all-out category with a chance to win the NFC East. That should mean a ton of passes from Dak Prescott against the Washington Commanders and one of the worst defenses in the entire league. It’s a dream spot for Dak Prescott who has put up some awesome numbers this season, completing 68% of his passes for 4,237 yards and a 32:8 TD:INT rate. The price is up there, but the floor might be the highest of any QB on the slate. Justin Fields FD 8400 DK 7200 Opponent GBProj Points FD - 22.08 DK - 22.08 The Bears aren’t playing for anything here, though this could be one final audition for Justin Fields to remain the starting quarterback into next season. They already have the #1 pick via the Panthers, so they are in a bit of house money territory against the Packers. This could be play spoiler territory, and I love the floor on Fields, who has been completing passes efficiently enough and still runs as much as any quarterback in the game. Coming cheaper than Dak with the ground game as a floor-raiser, I do like this spot for Fields, especially on DraftKings. Tyrod Taylor FD 7000 DK 5300 Opponent PHIProj Points FD - 18.69 DK - 18.69 Going on the cheaper side of things, we get Tyrod Taylor who was a popular DraftKings play in Week 17 and could be one again this time around. The Giants aren’t playing for much besides spoiler, but that’s what they did last week against the Rams where Taylor was fantasy gold at these price points. He threw for 319 yards and a touchdown while also running six times for 40 yards. Now he’ll get an Eagles’ defense that’s been an absolute sieve of late, giving it up to Kyler Murray and the Cardinals just last week. This is another good spot for Taylor and the Giants. With Darius Garland out of the mix, Mitchell is shouldering almost all of the lead guard duties, running the point and putting up a ton of shots. He’s taken 21 or more shots in each of his last six games, averaging 30 points, 7.3 assists, and 5.5 rebounds in that stretch. It’s on par with the best in the game, made even better when you remember that he faces the Washington Wizards tonight. The Wiz are the worst defense in the league and they run the fastest pace. There’s a reason you’ll see a bunch of Cavs in this article today. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $11500 DK - $10500Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 61 DK - 61.5 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing like a guy who wants to, and should, be in the MVP discussion. He just dropped a 36/7/6 line against the Celtics on Tuesday and is averaging 31.4 points, 6.4 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He’s been amazing, one of the best fantasy producers around. Now he’ll face off against the Hawks who run the fifth-fastest pace and play the third-worst defense. It’s not quite as great as facing the Wizards, but it’s close. Kyrie Irving FD - $8300 DK - $8300Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 44.38 DK - 46.94 The Mavericks were crushed by the Jazz in Kyrie Irving’s first game back from injury, an unwelcome sign for Dallas fans for sure. But I think we can consider rostering him here, especially on FanDuel with the expectation that the minutes will increase for this game. Plus, he gets a good matchup against the Blazers. Irving scored 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and added four assists in his first game back, a great sign from a fantasy per-minute scoring basis. That’s one of the highest lines you will ever seeing, somewhat complicating matters for cash games. On the surface, De'Aaron Fox makes for a top-flight cash game play, putting up some of the best stats in the NBA this season. He’s averaging 30 points per game on 48/40 splits while adding in 6.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds. The matchup against the shorthanded Hornets is, of course, a great one. But we will be fading a blowout all the way through. Meanwhile, Chris Duarte joined the starting lineup last game in place of Kevin Huerter, playing 26 minutes in this role. He only scored seven points and added six rebounds, but the price is so cheap on both sites that you have to consider him at least. With salaries such as they are, the punt plays become even more important. CJ McCollum FD - $8000 DK - $7100Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 39.86 DK - 42.34 CJ McCollum is still a good DraftKings deal, coming in around the $7K range which can be a difficult tier with the newer pricing model. He gets to face a Nets team that’s been one of the worst defenses in the league over the last month or so and has trouble stopping just about anyone. Even with the Pels at relatively full strength, CJ is still getting up shots in this offense, tallying 14 or more FG attempts in each fo the last three games. Again, I like this play considerably more on DraftKings than FanDuel. Ish Smith FD - $3700 DK - $4300Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 21.44 DK - 23.18 Ish Smith should start again in the place of Terry Rozier, who is doubtful for this one. Over the last month, he’s averaged 37.5 points, 11.1 assists, and 8.9 rebounds in just a hair under 40 minutes per game. Almost one else has this kind of floor on a nightly basis, and, at this point, it makes sense to just find the cheap plays and roster Luka in about any situation. Of course, that’s a bit of an overstatement, but in this matchup against the Jazz, it rings true. Even with Kyrie Irving projected to return tonight, running Luka against a bottom-third defense playing a top-third pace makes a lot of sense. Tyrese Haliburton FD - $11000 DK - $10300Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 54.69 DK - 59.49 Speaking of being on another level, Tyrese Haliburton has put up some eye-popping lines over the last couple of games. In fact, he’s had two 20-20 games in a row with 22 points and 23 assists against the Knicks and 21 points and 20 assists against the Bulls. Those are video game stats for sure, and things could continue here. We know the Bucks don’t have great guard defense, and Hailburton carved these guys up for a 27/15/7 line during the In-Season Tournament. There’s a world where you can roster both Luka and Hali in cash, though it’s a bit easier on DraftKings than on FanDuel. Andrew Nembhard FD - $5300 DK - $5300Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 27.73 DK - 30.09 Nembhard was a chalkier play last time out when the Pacers faced off against the Knicks, and he definitely paid that one off. The combo guard played 36 minutes, took 10 shots, finishing with a 14/5/5/2 line when it was all said and done. They’ll need his defense here against Damian Lillard, so I expect him to get a lot of burn once again. The middle-tier pricing helps round out lineups. This game very much means something for the Eagles who are still fighting for the NFC East and get to face off against the dreadful Cardinals. It’s a dream spot, and Philly is -11.5 home favorites. He’s third among quarterbacks in rushing yards and second overall in the NFL in rushing touchdowns. The floor is just so, so high here and though the Cardinals don’t allow a ton of passing yards per game, it’s mostly because they are getting crushed on the ground. Patrick Mahomes FD 8000 DK 7500 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 24.23 DK - 24.23 If you watched the Chiefs play the Raiders last week, I would understand the hesitancy to play Mahomes in cash games this week. He was running for his life and completed only 61% of his passes for 235 total yards. But I think we can go back to the well here, considering he’s going against a Bengals’ defense, allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game and most passing yards per pass attempt. They are the dream spot for opposing quarterbacks and Mahomes has seen the price come down some. This is a smash spot in a place for the Chiefs to get right. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 11000 DK 9600 Opponent WASProj Points FD - 27.89 DK - 30.42 It is going to be tough rostering one of the expensive quarterbacks and also getting CMC into lineups. But there’s reason to try because McCaffrey is pushing up against historic levels now. He’s about 500 yards away from the yards-from-scrimmage record, which is a tough sell, but it’s still (just a little) plausible. He could also conceivably move into the top 10 in single-season touchdown scoring as well. Plus, he faces off against the Commanders, who completely stink, and the 49ers still need to win out for the playoffs. This is lining up basically perfectly for CMC.
