That is the amount of time between Tony Finau's first win and his huge win at the Northern Trust last week. The win also thrust him into the #1 spot in the FedEx Cup standings and like I mentioned last week, the new playoff structure really rewards those top seeds putting Finau in a great spot. The Top 70 players in the FedEx Cup Standings now get one more shot to position themselves inside the Top 30 at this week's BMW Championship. Not to be overlooked by the Finau win, six players(Noren, Van Rooyen, Hoge, Varner, Mitchell, & Higgs) played their way into this week. Like last week, this event has a course rotation and this year will be hosted at Caves Valley Golf Club. It will be new to almost every golfer in the field as it has never been used on the PGA Tour since opening back in 1991. It is a traditional Par 72 that is listed at 7,542 yards on the scorecard and is one of the longest courses the players have seen this season. That doesn't necessarily mean load up on bombers as there rough is listed at 3 inches on average and there are many hazards and/or doglegs that appear to force some positioning off the tee to have a shot at the green. This has me more just looking at overall Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and if you are breaking it down further look for bombers who have better driving accuracy/fairways gained or non-bombers who have very solid long-iron play(175-200 and 200+ yards). With that said, let's take a look at the scorecard and then get into the picks. Pitchers Lance Lynn FD - P 10100 DK - SP 9900 Opponent - TOR (Alek Manoah) Park - TOR FD - 33.99 DK - 19.25 Let me preface by saying I don't like anything about this slate in terms of pitching. With that said, there is really no other place to start than lance Lynn who is the odds-on favorite to win the American League CY Young award and while he faces a stacked Jays offense, he at least gives us a consistent floor with the strikeouts to counter those starts he gives up two to four earned runs. He is also facing the Jays at a good time as they have dropped seven of their last nine games scoring three or less six times. By default, Lynn is my top pitcher on this slate. Zack Greinke FD - P 9200 DK - SP 8900 Opponent - KC (Daniel Lynch) Park - HOU FD - 32.21 DK - 16.85 Greinke has the best shot at a win and quality start(FanDuel) tonight as the Astros are the biggest favorites(-228) on the slate and he averages just shy of six innings pitcher per start. The issue here is that he is coming off a start where he struck out no batters across six innings and faces a hot Royals team that has won six of their last seven and have struck out a league-low 17% of the time over the last two weeks. Considering the lack of options and win equity here, Greinke is my top SP2 tonight. Catcher/First Base Yuli Gurriel FD - 1B 3100 DK - 1B 5100 Opponent - KC (Daniel Lynch) Park - HOU FD - 14.2 DK - 10.89 It took some time since returning from injury but Gurriel appears to be heating up and is fully on my radar Monday night. He enters the night with hits in three straight and four of his last five games and has crushed lefties to the tune of a .395 wOBA and 158 wRC+ on the season. He is my top play at first base in all formats, especially on FanDuel where he is still in the low $3K range. Ty France FD - 1B 3300 DK - 1B 3700 Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - OAK FD - 9.49 DK - 7.24 If you want to go the value route on DraftKings, France is a player who seems...

Pitchers Walker Buehler FD 11600 DK 10500 Opponent - NYM (Carlos Carrasco) Park - NYM FD - 38.42 DK - 21.05 It is a tight race for the National League Cy Young in 2021 and Walker Buehler is right in the thick of it. He has been good all season but has been horse in the second half averaging 6.7 innings per start and has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in all six starts(1.34 ERA). He has also been providing much more upside in the second half with a 30.4% K rate(25% first half). He now faces a Mets team that has struggled to score runs in August with just a 78 wRC+. There is a sizeable price gap but Buehler is still my top pitcher on this slate. Chris Sale FD 10700 DK 9700 Opponent - TEX (Dane Dunning) Park - TEX FD - 44.09 DK - 24.95 To say his return to baseball after missing almost two years was a success would be a huge understatement. He not only made it through five innings on just 89 pitches, but he also struck out eight Orioles while walking none with the only damage being two solo home runs. With that said, his DK price is just $100 more on Friday and he gets a much better matchup against the Rangers who rank 30th and 29th in wOBA(.283) and wRC+(78) against left-handed pitching and dead last in runs scored since the break. Sale is in play in all formats. Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD 3600 DK 4700 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - PIT FD - 12.55 DK - 9.44 The Cards offense has been a disappointment overall but has been heating up lately and now get one of the best matchups on the board. The offense coming around can be directly correlated to Goldshmidt's success as he comes in with hits in eight straight including six multi-hit efforts and is now hitting .322 with a .379 wOBA since the All-Star break. In an elite matchup vs. a struggling Mitch Keller(6.86 ERA/5.12 xFIP) at these very affordable prices, Goldy is my top play at first tonight. Luke Voit FD 2900 DK 3400 Opponent - MIN (Charlie Barnes) Park - MIN FD - 14.91 DK - 11.14 Anthony Rizzo FD 3500 DK 3600 Opponent - MIN (Charlie Barnes) Park - MIN FD - 14.42 DK - 10.8 For...

Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD 10700 DK 9200 Opponent - STL (Jon Lester) Park - STL FD - 41.69 DK - 23.9 Woodruff was removed early in his last start but it was reported to not have been injury-related so we will move forward as such. That is great news as he has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season trailing only Walker Buehler and teammate Corbin Burnes in ERA(2.18). The Brewers pitching has seemingly brought the Cardinals' hot streak to a halt and they have struck out 18 times(26%) in the first two games of this series and now face Woodruff and his 30% K rate. Fire up Woodruff in all formats tonight. Also Consider: Luis Castillo(CIN) while not the most consistent, has tallied 7+ strikeouts in five of his last six games and faces a Marlins team that has struck out 27% of the time over the last two weeks. I also love the price on Jameson Taillon(NYY) who has been rock solid for the Yankees with a 1.68 ERA over his last eight starts while going 4-0 Catcher/First Base Anthony Rizzo FD 3500 DK 3700 Opponent - MIN (John Gant) Park - MIN FD - 16.17 DK - 12.11 Rizzo returned from the COVID list on Wednesday and picked up a hit with two RBI giving him hits in seven of 10 games with three home runs since joining the Yankees at the deadline. He and the Yankees now get a matchup vs. the Cardinals bullpen but what really stands out here is the sub $4K price tag on DraftKings. That easily makes him the top play at first base on this small slate. Also Consider: Max Muncy(LAD) who provides huge upside and should be lower owned at his price on this smaller slate Second Base Kolten Wong FD 3300 DK 4200 Opponent - STL (Jon Lester) Park - STL FD - 9.32 DK - 7.18 The Brewers are going to be popular on this small slate in a plus matchup vs. a very inconsistent Jon Lester(5.32 ERA/5.08 xFIP). This sends me directly to one of my favorite two-man stacks for cash games. Let's start with Wong who has been consistent lately with hits in six of his last seven games and before you shout lefty/lefty, he sits with a .369 wOBA and 130 wRC+ in the split this season. At these prices, he is a...

The FedEx Cup Playoffs are here and they start with The Northern Trust which heads back to Liberty National Golf Club for the second time in three years. All but one(Louis Oosthuizen) of the Top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings are teeing it up with the Top 70 advancing to the BMW Championship next week. Before we get into this week's picks, let's once again take a look at the new(ish) playoff format and how it how changed things for the better, at least in my opinion. First of all, the PGA Tour lowered the # of events to three which avoids top-ranked players taking the first event off and watering down the field. The second thing was widely criticized as the Tour changed the way the Tour Championship would be played. Essentially your ranking gives you a correlated starting score to begin the event(The player in first starts the Tour Championship at -10, 2nd at -8 and so on). To see the complete rundown check out this LINK. While this new format seems gimmicky, what it does is raise the importance of those first two events as every single point earned can make a huge difference. Looking at the course, Liberty National is a Par 71 that is listed at 7,410 yards on the scorecard. While the fairways are slightly smaller than average, the first cut of rough is only listed at 1.5 inches which does allow golfers to grip it and rip it and not worry as much about accuracy. The biggest challenge comes on the approach shot as the greens at Liberty National are among the smallest on tour and have added difficulty of undulation. With that information and stats from previous seasons, here are the top stats in my model: Strokes Gained: Approach Proximity from 200+ Yards Par 4 Scoring Strokes...
