More good news as Lowry has been consistent averaging over 36 fantasy points per game when getting a full run of minutes and without Bam and possibly Butler again, I see that narrative playing out once again which puts him n play in all formats. Ish Smith FD - $4500 DK - $3400 Opponent - PHI Proj Pts FD - 24.78 DK - 26.57 With LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier placed in health and safety protocols on the weekend, Ish Smith stepped into a starting role and lit it up Sunday shooting 57% on 14 shots putting up North of 35 fantasy points on both sites. Both those players are out again on Monday and mysteriously Ish's price dropped $500 on DraftKings putting him back near min price where he is easily our top PTS/$ play at any position. Don't over think this one. Plug in Ish in all formats. Also Consider: Tyler Herro(MIA) if Jimmy Butler is out again or Chris Paul(PHO) with Devin Booker out again tonight Shooting Guard Seth Curry FD - $5600 DK - $5300 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 26.69 DK - 29.35 Curry is very reliant on his shooting for fantasy scoring and the good/great news there is that he is on an absolute heater shooting 60% on 40 shots over his last three games. While that is an unsustainable rate for sure, the opportunity continues to be there with no Ben Simmons. Either way, we are looking for about 25 fantasy points from Curry to hit cash value tonight and he has done that in seven of his last 10 games while averaging 26.5 fantasy points per game. Running Back/Defense Stack Alexander Mattison FD 8700 DK 7600 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 20.24 DK - 22.59 MIN FD 4600 DK 3200 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 7.92 DK - 7.92 I never like writing up my favorite team and not because I am biased. It's more due to the fact they seem to play up or down to their opponents and have been very inconsistent, hence a 5-6 record. The reason this stack shows up at #1 for me this week is that it can be used in all formats as the Vikings are in a great spot here checking all the boxes. They are pretty much in a must-win situation sitting as the 7-seed and no better matchup than against the winless Lions who will also be without their best player, D'Andre Swift. With Dalvin Cook ruled out, Alexander Mattison will once again take on the lead role in the backfield and he has a track record in this situation. His last three starts with Cook out(Week 5, week 3, & week 16 2020), he has averaged over 150 yards from scrimmage and that includes heavy involvement in the pass game. I project him getting 18-20 touches for a floor with upside of 25+. He is likely a little lower owned on FanDuel where he is the 3rd most expensive option at the position(6th on DK). I like stacking the defense with Mattison in this matchup, especially with Swift and his late game fantasy explosions out of the equation. The Vikings D has actually provided a decent floor all season as they have tallied multiple sacks in every game with at least one interception in six of their last seven games. I will have exposure to this stack in all formats this week. The huge price jump is completely justified, however, as Murry has been phenomenal lately averaging 19.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists over his last 10 games good for an average of 48 DK/47 FD points per game. That is right around what we are looking for tonight which is very attainable considering this game has the highest total(221.5) on the slate and Portland ranks 27th in defensive efficiency. Fire up Murray in all formats as a top guard on this slate. Alec Burks FD - $7000 DK - $6500 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 34.21 DK - 36.35 The sites are catching up in price after Burks' role took a huge shift being named the starting point guard for Knicks. He has thrived in his new role playing 39 minutes in both starts and putting up a team-high 38 shots(17 from behind the arc) while exceeding 40 fantasy points in each game. The matchup is nothing to write home about as the Bulls rank 7th in defensive efficiency but Burks is likely a mid $7K player in his new role so this is still a buy low for me and he is in play in all formats. Shooting Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $7900 DK - $8100 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 39.39 DK - 42.26 With Giddey out last night, SGA took over shooting 46% on 26 shots en route to 39 real-life points and 49 fantasy points. This is a back-to-back but I am not worried for multiple reasons starting with Giddey most likely missing a second game and then add in the elite matchup as Memphis ranks dead last in defensive efficiency and 9th in pace. SGA is in for another heavy usage night and I will have exposure in all formats. The price is near its peak which does hurt the PTS/$ some but this play is more about locking in raw points as Luka comes in having dropped 50 or more fantasy points in five straight and eight of his last 10 games while averaging 54.6 per game. The matchup isn't great on paper as the Cavs are 9th in defensive efficiency but Luka contributes across the board averaging nearly a double-double on the season(25-8-8) giving him a very high floor and ceiling. Lock and load in all formats. Lonzo Ball FD - $6700 DK - $7000 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 34.64 DK - 36.7 The Ball brothers will go head to head tonight and while most of our attention this season has been on LaMelo, I lean Lonzo in tonight's matchup for multiple reasons. It starts with price and not that LaMelo is overpriced(he has earned every dollar of that 10K+ tag) but Lonzo provides more PTS/$ in a much better matchup as LaMelo's Hornets rank 25th in defensive efficiency and 3rd in pace. We are looking for about 35 fantasy points from Lonzo tonight and he has hit that total in three straight and take out the blowout vs. Indiana and he has averaged 34 over the last 10 games. I will have exposure in all formats. Shooting Guard Darius Garland FD - $7200 DK - $7700 Opponent - DAL Proj Pts FD - 35.89 DK - 40.7 Garland should probably be listed above at PG but he doesn't have the SG designation on both sites so here we are! No matter the position, he has been a consistent fantasy provider recently averaging 36 minutes, 19 shots, 21.3 points, 6.4 assists, and over 37 fantasy points per game. Philadelphia Eagles Stack Jalen Hurts FD 8400 DK 7300 Opponent NYG Proj Points FD - 22.32 DK - 23.03 Miles Sanders FD 6100 DK 5100 Opponent NYG Proj Points FD - 14.97 DK - 16.03 Doug mentioned both of these guys in his cash game article this week and not only do they give us a high floor and some projected safety, but they also provide a ton of upside. It starts with Hurts who hasn't been great with his arm(61%) but has more than made up for it with his legs averaging over 10 rushing attempts 56 yards per game which are both second to only Lamar Jackson. While the passing has been inconsistent, he has tallied five games with multiple passing touchdowns and did have two 300+ yard games earlier in the season. It's the run game where I think the biggest upside lies as the Giants rank 30th in DVOA vs the run and have yet to face a true rushing threat from the quarterback position. Pairing him with Sanders has the upside of 150+ rushing yards combined and it was nice to finally see something from Sanders who ran for 94 yards on just 16 carries last week(5.9 per rush). More good news as the price continues to sit in the low $5K range on DraftKings while he has the upside of a 6-7K back. If multi-entering and want multiple Eagles stacks this week, I love adding in some passing game action with Dallas Goedert and Devonta Smith. Goedert will be the chalkier option as Hurts top option lately and the Giants have struggled vs. tight ends recently.
